The Dragon vs the Titans Chapter 4

Chapter 4: Everything comes crashing down
A few hours later:
After explaining to the group on what he was and how he thinks he's stuck here in their world permanently. Reiner and Bertolt left to go speak in private after everyone went to sleep, this 'anomaly' was going to be a hard work around and they agreed not to out themselves until they got a grasp on what his powers were and how they worked. walking back to the camp site, Reiner spotted something very interesting.
There, Natsu has holding Mikasa protectively, as she snuggled into to him unconsciously trying to get closer to the warmth that was Natsu's body. Pulling Bertolt over Riener whispered "I think we found our leverage" and walked away to go to sleep leaving Bertolt by himself. Staring at the sight Bertolt couldn't help but frown at what Riener was thinking. Walking away himself, Bertolt was wondering what would happen to poor Natsu when Mikasa woke up.
The next morning:
Everyone woke up with a start as they heard a scream coming from one of the rooms, quickly rushing to see if the person/people were okay, but what they found instead made a few of them stare dumbfounded at what they just saw.
There, was the man that single handedly taken out several titans in one go getting beat over the head by none other than a red faced Mikasa. Being the first one to breakout of their stupor, Eren asked what was going on, but instead of getting an answer, Mikasa just turned around in an attempt to hide her red face.
Seeing as Mikasa wasnt going to answer anytime soon, Eren decided to ask Natsu what happened.
"Well I'm sort of trying to figure that out myself."
"I know what happened!" Came a voice in the back of the now quite large crowd.
"Natsu was cuddling Mikasa like a 5 year old does a teddy bear!" The man said breaking through the crowd to reveal Riener.
"WHAT?!" Practically everyone yelled.
Natsu just turned around in a failed attempt to hide his red face.
"WHAT THE HELL NATSU?!" Jean yelled. Quite jealous he wasn't the one doing that.
"I didn't do it on purpose, sometimes I grab whatever is near me in my sleep, and that just so happened to be Mikasa." Natsu answered.
Seeing this as the perfect opportunity to cause mischief Riener pointed out that Mikasa had, infact snuggled up to him during their sleep. At this Natsu was receiving a lot of jealous glares from a few men and even more surprised looks on the rest. It was well known that Mikasa liked Eren, everyone but Eren had known this, but they guessed that she must've gotten tired of chasing after him.
At this point steam started coming out of Mikasa's and Natsu's ears and their faces became completely flushed in red and they both turned away from each other and everyone else.
Roaring in laughter at their reactions, Riener had his fun and may possibly be castrated for this, but it was well worth it he'd enjoy every second of what he created while it lasted.
After calming down, everyone went on with their daily duties. Some forgetting about the incident that will woke them up, while others just left after the death glare she gave them that promised pain.
3 hours later:
Finally done with the preparations needed for today's mission, the scouts went into separate groups of 4 to search around the wall for the 'breach'. Levi decided that Natsu would be a good enough replacement to 'take care' of Eren if he went berserk.
Unfortunately for Mikasa she was put in the same group as Natsu, not that she didn't like his company, but things were still awkward between them after this morning. Putting the awkwardness aside for now Mikasa had a mission to do, spotting a large 17m class very hairy looking titan Mikasa shoots a flare i to the sky signaling the spotting of a titan.
Unfortunately the titan was already preparing to attack while they were getting ready. Crushing a large rock and throwing the remains at the group, the beast looking titan grabbed another rock crushing it and throwing it immediately after the other.
Having very little time to react, Natsu quickly did what he does best... something stupid. Not getting enough time to gather the proper amount on magic Natsu only sent a half powered 'FIRE DRAGONS ROAR' at the top half of the remains but the lower half of the rocks hit Mikasa's horse killing it instantly and sending her flying off of it, but before she hit the ground she righted herself and landed upright on her feet and quickly sprinted the towards the beast titan.
Before Mikasa was able to get to the titan she was talked and carried into the nearby tree line. "What the hell Natsu I almost had him." "No you didn't, look where you were standing right before I moved you out of the way." Complying, Mikasa looked to where she was standing moments ago and it was completely destroyed. Getting over how close to death she really was Mikasa thanked Natsu and tried to rejoin the fight, but before she could leave Mikasa was left in a state of shock after Natsu pulled her into a hug from behind.
'He's warm' Mikasa thought.
"Please...please be careful Mikasa, I-I don't want to lose anyone way, especially you." Natsu said but whispered the last part so Mikasa couldn't hear what he said. Yes Mikasa had been told by others to 'be careful' but none sounded so heartfelt, as if he was talking to a family member, or loved one. 'I can only hope it's the last one' Mikasa shook her head of those thoughts, she liked Eren...right?
Finally letting go, Natsu saw that the others were in some serious trouble. So Natsu being who he is, decided to do something about it. Jumping in between the two opposing parties, Natsu puts up a wall of fire and gets them to regroup with Mikasa in the tree line.
Making a successful getaway the group moves deeper into the forest and decided to setup camp a few hours later, with Natsu starting a fire and Eren and Armin to get food, leaving only Mikasa and Natsu to themselves. Not wanting to keep the atmosphere awkward, Natsu decided to say something.
"If you want Mikasa, I can sleep on the other side of the fire so last night doesn't repeat itself again...if that's what you want of course." Natsu cursed himself for saying that last part out loud and just hoped she didn't hear what he said. Luck was not on Natsu's side as Mikasa heard every last word of what Natsu said.
"You make it sound like you want to sleep next to me again." Mikasa said in an attempt to lighten the mood.
Natsu's face had a light dusting of red on his cheeks and said "N-no it's not l-like that." Natsu never studdered not even when Erza took bath with him and Gray, so you can imagine how embarrassed he was now.
Mikasa just laugh slightly at Natsu's studdering. "No I'll be fine Natsu but you don't have to feel to embarrassed about what happened last night, it was just an accident." That last little part was like a meddle through Natsu's heart although he didn't know way, he just meet her. Quickly trying to hide what he was feeling Natsu quickly replied with "Oh yeah. I remember you acting all embarrassed to if I recall correctly Mikasa."
Mikasa was slightly taken aback by this and was about to reply, but before she could Eren and Armin returned with a boar for Natsu to cook. After they ate Eren decided to speak up, "So what were you guys talking about when we got back?"
Not missing a single beat Mikasa replied "We were talking about what the plan for tomorrow is."
"Oh so what are you planning?" Armin asked after remaining silent this whole time.
Thinking quickly "We didn't get very far into our planning, because you guys came back so fast." Natsu answered.
"Well I guess I'll come up with one in the morning you guys get some sleep." Armin said with a yawn followed by the rest of the group.
"Try not to cuddle up this time Natsu." Armin replied with a sly grin.
Natsu's face exploded red and he yelled "It's not like that!"
Natsu's mind scape:
Darkness. Darkness was all Natsu could see he tried looking around but found that he couldn't move. Suddenly a small flame appeared right in front of him and was growing by the second.
Being consumed by the ever growing fire, Natsu noticed he was in a volcanic wasteland were he normally meet his father. Natsu was confused because he thought the last time he saw his father was going to be his last, but none the less he was still over the moon to see is father again.
But to his surprise it wasn't his father that showed up initially but it was someone he never thought he had the displeasure of meeting again.
"Zeref, what are you doing here!" Natsu yelled to his long dead brother.
"Hello Natsu it's nice to see you again. although I'm not actually your brother, he died over a year ago, rather, I'm your minds version of him." Zeref replied.
"I'm here because we need to have a talk with you." Zeref answered Natsu's earlier question.
"What do you mean 'we'." Natsu growled. As if on que a large red dragon appeared. Instantly recognizing the dragon as his father, Natsu ran to him to give him a hug on his front leg.
Igneel accepted this hug, but quickly pushed Natsu away after a little bit.
"Natsu we don't have very much time, so let us talk and you can ask questions later, okay brat." Igneel spoke in his deep draconic voice.
"I guess I'll start us off then, Natsu the Dragon seed and Demon seed respectively were never destroyed, because if we destroyed either you would either lose your magic your die." Zeref spoke the last part in a sad low tone.
"Yes Zeref is right Natsu, if we had destroyed the Demon seed you would've died, and if we had destroyed the Dragon seed you would've lost all your magic then and there, So now you have a choice to make, no matter which you choose I will always be proud of you Natsu, but be warned you cannot choose human, the only reason we let you do that was because you were adamant about it, but now we don't have the power to keep both at bay, so you must choose Natsu.""If you choose the Dragon seed you have a low chance at survival due to how painful and slow the process CAN be, but don't worry Natsu, if you choose the Dragon seed then it will make you a real dragon and you will gain the life span of a dragon."
"Now Natsu, are you a Dragon, or are you a Demon?"Natsu was overwhelmed with this choose before him, he can't choose to be human, he has to be either a Dragon or a Demon. He started thinking about all the things he did as a Demon and as a Dragon slayer. after what felt like hours Natsu had his answer.
"I know what I am."
"And that would be?" Igneel asked, already knowing his son's answer.
"I am a Dragon, I have done good as a dragon slayer, and if I have to be like my dad to survive than so be it!" Natsu roared.
"I'm proud of you my son, now we can slow down the process of Dragonification to a few weeks maybe even a month, but the more you use your magic the faster the process will go. and don't worry about being a dragon forever, after about a month of getting used to your new body you should be able to go back to your human form at will by boy." Igneel said as he faded away on leaving the two brothers there.
"Don't worry Natsu once you wake up the Dragonification will start and the demon seed will be completely gone, as if it never existed." Zeref reassured his younger brother.
"We will always be with you Natsu." Zeref said as the too, faded away.
The next morning:
Natsu shot out of his sleeping bag at lightning fast speeds, instantly feeling the pain Igneel mentioned. Natsu could feel his skin on his forearm falling off and being replaced by crimson red scales.
Gritting his teeth as to hold in a scream Natsu quick ran away from camp with a few bandages.
Returning a few hours later, Natsu saw the rest of his group was awake and looking around for him. With enough of the pain gone to the point to were he can think straight, Natsu returned to the group with bandages wrapped around both his arm's.
Happy to see that he didn't leave them they all ran up to him and quickly told him the plan Armin came up with, which was stick to the tree tops at the tree line to keep an eye on the wall to look for the breach in said wall.
Mikasa being the first to notice the bandages "What happened to your arm?" this caused the other two finally take notice and ask what happened as well.
"Well I had broken my arms to cast the spell that saved you two, I just didn't want you guys to worry so I waited until you were asleep to put the bandages on. Sorry for hiding it from you guys, but don't worry they'll heal soon."
"okay if you say so, but you'll have to be carried by one of us to get to the top of the wall." Armin said slowly as if he didn't believe Natsu's story.
"well pets get going but be careful Natsu, you don't want to make your injury worst." Eren said with worry trancing his voice as he heads to the tree line.
'I didn't think they would buy that' Natsu thought with a sigh of relief that luckily no one heard.
With Riener and Bertolt:Having separated themselves from their group Riener and Bertolt came up with a plan on how to deal with Natsu without having to fight him, knowing that it would cost them dearly.
"Riener why don't we continue with our plan once Natsu is away doing something or just not there for some other reason?"
Riener turned to Bertolt and gave him a sly grin while saying "Or we could use Mikasa against him, if he tried anything we'd kill her."
"But Mikasa is almost as skilled as Captain Levi, we'd have a better chance with Armin, he's the most vulnerable in their group." Bertolt said scared at the thought of trying to capture Mikasa.
"Yeah your right, plus you could just use your Colossal Titan and that would get rid of a lot of them in seconds just from activating it."
"Let's get back to the group, they should be heading to the rendezvous point after noticing that there is no breach in the wall." Riener said. and with that they regrouped with there group and made their way to the rendezvous point.
At the rendezvous point:
When the group arrived they noticed that they were the first group there so they had made themselves comfortable, well at least it's comfortable as you can get on a giant 50m high wall.
It took around half an hour for the rest of the teams to react the rendezvous point, but once they did Hanji ask each individual group if the saw a breach in the wall and if so where. Mysteriously there was no breach in the wall, which only made them wonder how the Titans got past the wall.
Once Hanji got to Natsu's group they told her that they saw a 17m titan that looked like a monkey or a beast that was actually intelligent as said titan picked up rocks, crushed them, and threw them at their group.
Terrified at the concept of intelligent Titans, but also being Hanji, she was excited to see how this kind of titan ticked.
After Hanji's rant on how she wanted to dissect this 'Beast Titan' and 'see what made it tick' more and more people started to notice bandages around Natsu's arm and some asked if 'he was ok' or what happened' while the others who saw what Natsu was capable of, were terrified at what could possibly harm Natsu.
Eren being Natsu's savior in that moment, told everyone that he used a spell to protect him and Armin at the cost of breaking his arms, but reassured them that Natsu's healed fast then the normal person but still slower than a titan shifter.
Everyone look relieved at this, some because 'something was strong enough to do this to him' and others because he was going to heal soon and they would have their best chance against the Titans back in action soon, but none looked more relieved than Riener and Bertolt, although no one knew why.
"This is our chance, Natsu is unable to fight, we won't get another chance at this" Riener whispered to Bertolt who nodded. Natsu never heard anything other than incoherent words sense the wind was so loud and he was also try to fight back the immense pain of having his organs reshaped to those of a Dragons. Natsu was surprised when he didn't tell out in pain, because this was by far the most painful thing he has ever gone through, easily 10 times more painful then his second origin opening thanks to Ultear's help.
while everyone else was talking among each other, Natsu noticed Reiner pulling Armin aside to talk to him in private along with Eren, Natsu was going to try and see what was up but before he could he felt a hand on is shoulder and promptly turned around to see who it was and to his surprise it was Mikasa.
"Mika, what's up?" Mikasa blushed slightly at this nickname Natsu came up with for her but still needed to ask Natsu if he was okay, he looked he was in pain.
"Natsu, are you okay it looks like your bleeding on your neck." Natsu quickly looked to see but it was quite difficult because of the location of it, but Natsu noticed it was not blood but rather another scale forming at the base of his neck. Quickly hiding the scale Natsu told 'Mika' that he was fine just some dried blood from when he was wrapping his bandages and a bug landed there, although he quickly regretted doing so because it hurt like a mother fucker.
Before Mikasa could press on with here questioning she quickly turned her head after hearing a scream come from Armin. Looking at the sight before her in utter horror Mikasa saw a sight she wish she would never have to see again, there was Armin in a choke hold by Riener who was holding his flesh cutter sword to his neck drawing a little blood.
Seeing red Mikasa was about to charge Riener, but was stopped by Natsu who grabbed her hand and held her back from charge into this dangerous situation.
"LET ME GO NATSU I HAVE TO SAVE ARMIN!" Mikasa screamed with tears brimming her eyes.
"If you charge Riener he will kill him before you even can get close to stopping him."
As if to reinforce Natsu's statement, Riener yelled out "If you move Mikasa I'll kill him, and that goes for your boyfriend too!"
Mikasa could only see red and blocked out all other noise and distractions and thrashed around in Natsu's hold, trying desperately to brake free, but it was no use Natsu was too strong. Natsu's muscles were screaming out in pain not only having to hold Mikasa back but because his muscles were being torn apart and rebuilt.
Smirking at the success of the plan so far Riener was blind sided when Eren kicked him in the ribs forcing him to release his hold on Armin and coughing up a little blood from the sheer force of the impact.
Seeing this Natsu didn't know why but all his instincts were telling him to hold on tighter to Mikasa, so he listened and held on to Mikasa as if see would disappear if he let go. Seconds later lightning could be seen crashing down onto the wall at two separate points and a huge cloud of steam instantly blocked their view of what was happening.
Seconds later a large imposing figure appeared through the smoke, a 15m tall titan with what looked like armor plates, and a colossal sized titan that looked to not have any skin at all.
Quickly pulling Mikasa out of the way, Natsu attempted to attack the larger titan after the armored one left via jumping off the wall, but before he could do anything, Natsu dropped to the floor screaming out in pain as it felt like his head was being split in half. The pain was so bad Natsu had to actively fight to stay conscious.
Seeing this as his chance, Bertolt used his enormous arm to grab Mikasa and hold her hostage. Seeing this Natsu attempted to try and stop the titan from taking his Mikasa from him, but was stopped by another round of pain. Bertolt squeezed Mikasa until she screamed out in pain.
Hearing her scream set something off inside Natsu and his eyes turned Draconic yellow with a slit in the middle, and started emiting a insane amount of magical pressure almost enough to stop the colossal titan in it's tracks, almost.
Scales appeared on Natsu's face, on his back, down his forearms, and his legs, letting out a very loud draconic roar that would've made a titan piss themselves if they could. Natsu instantly dashed to the colossal titan and removed the arm holding onto Mikasa, freeing her in the process.
Seeing what appeared on Natsu, Mikasa and the others that weren't watching Eren and Riener's fight, were shocked to their very core to see the very titan that destroyed many of their lives on that fateful day have it's arm destroyed in an instant.
"FIRE DRAGON KING'S ROAR" The biggest and hottest beam of fire erupted out of Natsu's mouth and disintegrated the bottom half of the colossal titan in an instant. As Natsu was about to finish this titan of the other titan from earlier came and took Bertolt, and ran away with Eren and Ymir.
As Natsu was about to pursue them Natsu collapsed to the the ground in pain as more scale grew around his face, horns grew out of his head and wings started to sprout from his back as Natsu finally circumed the pain and blacked out.
Mikasa ran to Natsu's side and gasped as it looked like the process was almost complete. He had red crimson scales all over his body the only place left untouched was his eye lids and nose.
A/N:As a sorry for taking forever to get this chapter out I doubled the length of this chapter and tried to develop the feeling between Natsu and Mikasa, although I feel as if I did a bad job, so sorry about that.Hope you enjoyed the chapter and have a nice day!
