CHAPTER TWO, PT. 1

No time left Pt. 2

POV: Lyon

They were screwed. Now there was a giant fire wall in between them and the dead ones. He told Gray to meet the at the bridge, but how were they exactly going to get there? They need a plan. The sooner, the better.

POV: Gray and Juvia

-Agh!- Juvia fell on the ground because of the extreme pain, and now that she had put so much pressure on her foot, she knew her injury became worse.

-Let me check it-

-I-I can't move it..!- He tried removing her shoe but she made an expression of pain.

-I know it can hurt like shit. I'm a baseball player, I've had these injuries before. But if you don't let me check it it will become even worse- He stared at her and tried to make her calm down. Her beutiful big blue eyes were teary. Actually, it was the first time he noticed how big and pretty her eyes were. He felt kind of hypnotized. Her pale cheeks were blushing and her lower lip was being bitten in an attempt to keep her from screaming.

-O...Okay...- He nodded and started taking her shoe off. -Ahh..!-

Her foot had obviously swollen and was slowly turning purple. -It hurts a lot, right?- She nodded -Don't worry. It will be better in some weeks. But we need to make sure you keep your foot off the ground. It will be hard without some pain killers, but in this situation we don't have much choice...-

-Thankyou...-

-Hm?- He looked confused at her.

-For... saving me...- He remembered her body on the floor -You really don't know me, yet... you decided to risk your life and save me... I...-

-It was nothing really--

-...I owe you my life...-

-...- She was being serious. Her eyes reflected pure sincerity. She looked so pure-hearted. Something inside him moved. What was that feeling? -...A-anyway... We're traped in here for some time until we can get out...-

-... M-maybe we should get to know each other better..?- she timidly proposed.

-...- He looked at her in confusion.

-I-I mean..! If we are going to spend time together we should start to know each other b-better...- she started to get flustrated.

-...-

-Maybe it was just a stupi ide--

-What would you like to know? I'm a pretty boring person- he said while gently placing his chin on his hand while staring at her. She gently smiled.

-I don't think so! I mean, you were pretty popular at University. You should have a pretty interesting life- Juvia poitend out.

-Not really. People just think because you are on the baseball team that you are always going to parties or that you have a lot of girls around and, many guys are like that, but I usually just finish practise and went straight home-

-I see... Maybe that's why. People said you were a mysterious guy-

-People say a lot of things-

-I guess you are right- She softly smiled. There it was. That feeling again. What was it?

-What was your major? I know we shared one class, but I've never asked you before-

-I studied music-

-Well, that's interesting-

-I like singing. I truly believe music has the power to touch people's feelings and make them change- Her eyes started shining -I want to be that person. The one who helps people through music... Ah! I think I got a bit deep...- she laughed embarrassed but Gray slowly shooked his head.

-I think that's beautiful. Specially in a world like the one we are living today-

-...- she looked down at her own hands with a blush and a shy smile on her face. -Oh. Can I ask, how did you and Lyon met? I know you two play baseball, but you guys have different uniforms-

-Well...- Gray touched his hair -He is my half-brother-

-Eh?!-

-Yeah... His dad married my mom and well, that's how we first met. But he goes to another university. Today we were supposed to play against each other, and that's why he was at our university but you know... things got crazy...-

-I see-

-You like him?-

-Eh..?!- She shook her hands in front of her body.

-I've seen how you guys look at each other-

-But that's not--

-Let me just tell you. He is not the guy you should fall in love with- He did not know why he felt the need to warn her about his step brother but he knew Lyon was not the kind of guy to compromise with a girl.

-What do you mean?-

-Well... he likes playing if you know what I mean-

-I see- She replied casually. -Have you ever had any girlfriend before?- she surely knew how to ask questions without being shy, or maybe she was just naive.

-I did have a girlfriend before-

-I see-

-And you?-

-Me too. But I'm just glad its over- he noticed how her eyes turned dark and an expression of complete hate and disgust started showing in her face. Maybe it would be a good idea to change the topic of the conversation.

-Do you know where your parents are?- Now that he thought about it, he didn't even know where his own parents were. He had just being focused on surviving that he did not even had time to call. It's not like his phone worked anyways.

-No... I haven't been able to contact them... D-do you think they are..?-

-I don't want to assume anything but, seeing how things are right now, I wouldn't be surprised if they were...-

-I know...- she replied with a sad expression. Gray took a glimps og her foot and felt bad for her.

-We should probably get you some pain killers for your foot- She looked at him in confusion -There's a pharmacy nearby. I'll go there, get the medicine and come back-

-What?! No, there's no need for that. You don't need to put yourself in more danger because of me...-

-Think of it as something we might need later. Someone has to get medicine just in case someone else gets hurt-

-Let me go with you-

-No. You're in not shape to run and if something happened it would be hard to help you- With that said, Gray walked towards the backdoor and turned around -I'll be back in an hour. Lock the door once I'm gone and be careful-

-Alright...- she said with her hands on her chest. -Be careful...- He flashed a kind smile at her, grabbed his broomstick and left the place. Juvia used the broomstick to help her get up and made her way to the door.

POV: Gray

He heared her lock the door and sighed deeply trying to keep his cool. He had to be fast. The pharmacy was not far away, two blocks away, but he knew a lot of walkers would be around the area. Gray checked his surroundings and when he saw there was no one he started running. Did he do right in leaving her? Was she going to be fine while he was gone? Why was he worrying so much over a girl he barely knew? These and more were the questions floating over his mind.

He turned around the corner to find two death ones right in front of the pharmacy eating what it looked like a dead person. There had to be a way to get in without those things getting to see him. Not far away he saw an opened car with someone dead inside. He cautiously walked over there without the dead ones noticing him and gently pushed the dead body on top of the honk, causing a loud noise and quickly attracting the dead ones into the car. He then proceeded to the pharmacy's door and breaking one of the door's windows to get inside.

He looked around to see if the two dead ones had heared the crushing window, but luckily the honk sound prevented them from hearing. When getting inside, he unknowingly touched the frame of the window and a piece of broken glass cut the palm of his hand -Ouch... son of a-- Gray could not even finish his sentence when a dead one jumped out of the pharmacy and tried to attack him. He barely had time to avoid him, so he managed to keep him away with his broomstick. The walker was strongly pushing Gray agains a wall and making loud noises. The black-haired boy noticed how this dead man was wearing the pharmacy's clothes. He must have been a worker until everything started. But Gray's luck finished when the honk sound stopped. The two walkers outside the pharmacy had moved the body from the car and now the only sound left was the one of the dead one that was attacking him. -...Shit..!-

Gray used all of his force and pushed the walker away from him, sending him towards the cash machine and causing a loud noice. He fastly ran towards him and crashed the broomstick through the skull of the dead one. It was a disgusting sceen. He then turned around when the other two walkers ran inside the store. Gray rapidly removed his broomstick from the skull and hit one of the monsters as if it was a baseball ball in the middle of the face, which ended up in breaking the stick in two. He then proceed to kick the other one on the leg and make it fall on the ground. The walker managed to grab him from the foot and pulled him towards his body in an attempt to bite him. Gray started panicking and kicking him, but the thing did not seem to stop. He then noticed the cash machine that had been thrown away by the dead pharmacist. He made an effort to grab it and kill the dead one by hitting him on the head various times.

He was panting and his body was weak. All of his strengths suddenly disappeared and his legs felt as if they had no energy to stand. He grabbed the counter desk in order to help him keep his balance. He did not know that those things could be that strong. He stared at the pharmasist and noticed he had a gun on his pocket. Gray slowly kneeled and removed the weapon from his uniform and checked if it was loaded. Luckily for him, it was completely loaded. It was good, since he had now lost his only wapon when hitting the walker in the head. Still panting, Gray stood up, grabbed a bag and started filling it with possible medicines they might need.

POV: Juvia

It had been almost and hour and Gray had not come back yet. Was he hurt? Did he get in trouble? Should she go out and help him? She shook her head. No. She would only make things worse with her foot like that.

Juvia rest her back on the wall and sighed. She was worried. How was her family doing? Was there anyone capable of ending this? Juvia suddenly found an old black battery radio next to the counter. -Huh..?- She walked towards it and tried to turn it on. -Oh..! It works..!- she exclaimed happily.

-The military forces claimed they are doing everything in their hands to help the citizens in need- the signal was not good enough so Juvia had to keep on moving the antenna in order for it to work -If you need help please make sure to go to the--

-What?! No, no, no- she tried once again to move it but the signal did not work. The only thing that was heared was "Magnolia". -Magnolia..? That is like two hours away from here...- A sudden knock on the door caught her attention. She walked towards the back door and called his friend's name, but there was no answer.

Juvia stayed silent and hid in between some iron shelves, and in a matter of seconds, the back door broke into pieces revealing a young man holding a gun over his shoulder -Okay, okay... come out now...- Juvia gasped in fear and covered her mouth with her hands. -I know there's someone in here. I've heared the radio- The man was taller than her and with small red eyes and it looked as if he had been doing drugs not so long ago.

She did not know if showing herself was a good idea or if she should stay hidden until Gray came back. She would not be able to fight with her foot injured so maybe coming out and showing herself would be the best idea. Juvia slowly showed came out from behind the shelves -O-okay... I'll come out. Just-- please, don't hurt me-

The young man saw how she was struggling to walk and could not hold but to ask her -What happened to your foot?-

-I sprained my ankle when I was trying to ran from those things-

The dangerous looking man went looking from her foot to her slim and pale legs that could be seen because of her skirt. A slight smile showed on his face and slowly walked towards her. -I see...-

-W-what are you doing..?- she asked when she saw him approaching her.

-Well... some times a man has to release some stress, you know?- Juvia's face became dark with fear and horror knowing what his words meant. She strongly held the broomstick pointing at him.

-D-don't come closer..!-

The stranger started unzipping his pants -Let's just have a good time in this fucked up world, cutie- he moved towards her and attempted to touch her, but she hit him in the face with the stick. -That hurts you bit--!- he could not finish his sentence because Juvia hit him again in the leg and tried to escape. But her sprained ankle made it difficult for her to run.

-Agh..!-

The man turned around and pulled her from her shiny soft hair, preventing her from running. -You little hoe... I'll teach show you what true pain looks like...- after this, he strongly steped on her injured feet, making her scream from the pain. -That's right... scream...- he started touching her leg.

Tears were running down her face. The pain and the embarassment were to much to hold. Was this the way she was supposed to end for her..? She would rather be eaten away by those things...

POV: Gray

-You better stop your hand from going any further-

Juvia opened her eyes in surprise when she heared his voice. -Gray..?-

The man stopped and looked towards the voice's direction -Who are you?-

-The hell do you want? Don't you see we're busy here?-

-Get away from her, now- Gray's expression was seriously scary.

-Oh... I see how things are... You're this bitch's boyfriend?- He pulled her from her hair once again and showed him her crying face. Gray's heart ache.

-I said, get away from her- He pointed the gun to the middle of his face. The man became a little afraid when he saw how serious Gray was.

-C'omon man... you won't shoot me, right? You don't wanna become a murderer, right? And the sound would attract those things over here...-

-Gray...- Juvia cried.

Gray opened his eyes in anger and shooted.
