Will felt sick as he sat on the examination couch in the Med Bay. He knew Ruth had been right to send him to see Mike but he hated letting his team down. The operation at Havensworth was a big deal, the opportunity to take out one of the world's biggest illegal arms dealers was too big to miss. He knew Ruth and some of the longer serving members of the team had history with the place but he wanted to prove himself as just as capable as them, instead he felt that he was letting them down. That the new boy was proving he just wasn't up to the challenge.
"William." Mike paused as he entered the room. "Do you want to tell me what happened?" The older man looked at him.
"I feel like shit."
"Very descriptive." Mike smiled as he approached. "High temperature, sweating. Feeling shaky?"
"Yeah. Ruth gave me paracetamol." Will paused. Mike nodded, Alec had already told him.
"Your blood pressure is low and your pulse is high." He raised an eyebrow. "An ambulance is on the way to transfer you to City General."
"I don't need a hospital."
"Nearly thirty years in medicine means I will be the judge of that." He pulled the small bloods trolley near to him. "I am going to put a cannula in, get some bloods and start you on antibiotics."
"No, I."
"Will." Mike sighed. "You have developed what looks like Sepsis. You are a young man and I am aware that you are usually fit and healthy but Sepsis kills. If Ruth hadn't got you to see me I doubt you would be conscious enough to argue with me in an hour or so. You are going to hospital. That is an end to the matter." He placed the tourniquet around his arm as Will rested his head back on the bed. He felt like Hell.

"Is he ok?" Harry asked as Ruth explained why one of the team were suddenly in the Med Bay.
"He looked awful. I thought something was wrong in the Briefing Room earlier. He is always quiet but." She paused. "He's being taken to the medical unit at City General. Apparently they have been treating him for Sepsis."
Harry shook his head. He had worked with Will's father as a young man, knew him as a young boy. He didn't like to think of him as being unwell. Will was one of life's survivors, like Beth he was an orphan and only child. The idea of him not having anyone to keep an eye on him was just very sad as far as Harry could see. He knew his friendship with the boy's father had been the main reason he had pushed for Will to join Section D. He had promised Bill he would look out for his boy.
"Isn't that what Amy had a few years ago?"
"Caused by Meningitis in her case." Ruth frowned remembering when her goddaughter was gravely ill. "So, he isn't going to be in work. That leaves us one person down. I'm going to head to Havensworth later today."
"Why?" Harry held her gaze. "I need you." He paused. "Here, on the Grid. Especially now that we know Jools' former sidekick is going to be there. Joseph Lincoln is a slimy git."
Ruth blushed a little. She knew her husband was not the most forthright of men when it came to emotions, even after all the time they had been together. She smiled slightly.
"Catherine is still inexperienced. I want to be sure everything is how we think it is."
He ran a hand over his face as he listened to her. He knew she was a perfectionist so he understood her need to make sure things were as they wanted them to be.
"Too dangerous."
"So you send your daughter?"
"Ruth."
"Harry."
"Mule." She smiled
"Pedant."
"I need you to look at this." He handed her a file as she reached across the desk. "Its a transcript of my meeting with Crowther earlier. Ros and I thought it best if it was analysed with what we know about the arms deal and the so called climate change meeting."
"You think she is involved." Ruth stated rather than asked.
"I don't know. After the debacle that was Lydia Morgan."
Ruth nodded, she understood his reticence to trust the current Home Secretary but as far as she could see the middle aged woman had never knowingly misled them. "Malcolm is decoding a memory stick from Ros' asset. So, as soon as I get that I'll go through them both." She got to her feet as Harry watched her. He sighed, knowing that she would be at Havensworth if she felt she was needed there. He just hoped history would not repeat itself.

Lucas poured hot water into the mug as he thought about the operation they were running at the poshest hotel he had ever seen in his life. He had been the son of a vicar and teacher, not exactly the most salubrious of environments to grow up in. It reminded him of how different his childhood had been when compared to the likes of Zoe and Ros. He opened the bread bin, hoping to find a chocolate donut to go with his coffee as Beth stepped into the kitchenette.
"You ate the last one."
"Oh yeah."
"Hollow legs." She opened the fridge. Lucas smirked. "Have you heard about Will? Someone is going to have to replace him as the barman. I think Tariq might actually cry if he does it."
"That's why you are on it." Ros stated as she appeared in the doorway. "You did bar work at uni."
"I know." Beth sighed. "Really?"
"Will is in hospital. You are doing it. I need Tariq where he is. The surveillance room is probably the most important part of the op." She stared at Beth who just sighed. Lucas paused.
"I'll be in the bar with Alec and Erin. It's important that Lincoln is not spooked by seeing people in Section D he might recognise." Lucas sipped his coffee. Ros nodded as Malcolm called her name. Turning on her heel she left the room as Beth pulled a face. She had no idea what had happened to make the sleezeball from Six a person of interest but she had a feeling she was going to find out. In less than twenty four hours the European delegations would be at Havensworth, Beth knew they had to be ready.
