While running up the stairs Elena sent a quick text to Katherine which was unnoticed by both vampires hovering her.
"Hey Kat, would you like to romance Stefan pretending to be me, if yes just enter through my window I don't want Stefan to know I am planning to run away."
When she enters her room and closes the door behind her, she smiles to see Katherine already sitting in her bed smirking at her, she begins "To what do I…"
And Elena gestures her to be quiet, then taps her ear telling her he might listen.
Katherine moves her lips without a sound, "So is this how we talk" then she shuts and uses her hands to tap her ears and mouth, then moves her lips again, "Sign language."
By the time Katherine is mocking her, Elena types in her phone, "Are you done, so now can we get to the point."
"Smart" she whispers.
Elena types, "I was planning a day out with my family and first Klaus showed up and now Stefan, I want you to take my place today, just don't leave the house because Stefan thinks he compelled me, Klaus isn't invited in here so you would be safe if he shows up."
Katherine whispers, "thinks he compelled you."
Elena types, "I ingested some vervain last night, I think it's still in my system." Katherine looks at her head to toe as though examining her.
Katherine writes in a paper, "And what do I get in return"
Elena types, "You are getting to spend some time with Stefan isn't that enough."
Katherine smirks to this and Elena knows she has caught the fish, Katherine writes again, "What about you, how would you leave without Stefan noticing you?"
Elena types, "I can't on my own but if you use your speed to take me to the other street and return before Stefan comes up with food, I guess…"
Katherine doesn't give her time to type and vamps Elena inside the bathroom and returns in the room just in time for Stefan to open the door with a food tray.
Elena thinks she should be irritated but is actually relieved to see she saved them both from being caught, Elena peeps through the open door and sees the paper Katherine was writing in is kept on her bed and she panics, she doesn't want Stefan to know that she got Katherine into the play.
She waits for Katherine to make eye contact with her and when she does Elena points towards the bed, Katherine doesn't understand what she means, and Stefan asks, "What's wrong, I am here and your attention is…" He turns to the door and Elena hides immediately.
Katherine turns Stefan's face to hers, by her index finger, "How can my attention be divided when I am with you." She hugs him and sees Elena at the door showing her some toilet paper, she frowns but Elena points behind her and Katherine understands it's about the paper she was writing in.
Katherine kisses Stefan and then blindfolds him, "So you are in a mood to play Elena." Katherine uses the same opportunity and throws the paper in the bin and both the doppelgangers are relieved. Elena steps out of the washroom and hits a side table and that's an oops moment before Elena covers up, "Catch me if you can" and then she goes downstairs, Stefan waits for her to reach downstairs and vamps down, just before he could touch her, Katherine shoves her in a room and takes her place.
Stefan removes the blindfold, "Oh so you are going to play with me, let's see how you play it, he vamps Katherine up the stairs to Elena's room and Elena is relieved that she can finally go to the lake house, just as she steps out of the house she sees Klaus standing there. 'Oh my god, did he not leave, or is he here so that he could catch Katherine' she makes a mental note to text Katherine when he is not looking but then she sees he is staring her.
"Klaus, I thought you left"
"I did"
His ears catch sound of Stefan romancing Elena (Katherine), he could hear her laugh and say between the giggles, "Oh stop Stefan, I can't breathe" and the sound of lips crashing, he is enraged. But then he looks at the doppelganger still there and questions, "So, tell me Katerina, did you leave because Stefan was making love with another."
"What, no. I had to leave, I had to go to the" she pauses, "Wait, did you just call me Katherine."
He holds her by the elbows, "Oh, stop pretending Katerina, Stefan is not me, there is no way he could mistake you for Elena."
Elena could see that he was again in his previous trance and this time she felt an urgent need to tell him that no, she is not her; she is not Katherine before he could do anything drastic with her just like the last time. She opens her mouth to say something but before she can his lips crash on hers and she gives in immediately as though she was longing for him to touch her, as though she was missing his touches, as though she didn't know if she could get this again or not. She doesn't realise that the heat pooling inside of her has sweated out the last of the vervain from her system
Klaus breaks the kiss and sees the longing in her eyes, longing for him, not fear and this is the moment that he realizes that the beauty standing before him is not Katherine but it is Elena, a part of him feels happy that she is not the one in the bed with Stefan while some part is still furious at her for lying to him, he decides to play this game along with her and a smirk forms across his face.
"Katerina, I didn't know you desired me."
"I don't"
"Of course you do."
He vamps her to his house to his bed and they have sex again and this time he is the one with a card up his sleeve, he doesn't bite her because he knows when the bite wouldn't heal, she will know that he knows, this time after the sex he could see the frustration in Elena's eyes.
He is lying on the bed staring at her while she dresses herself up, he could see that she is annoyed he slept with her thinking she is Katherine, he could see how much she wants to yell that she is her but he wouldn't give her the chance to, each time she tried to make even a scratch on her so that he would know he stopped her, he knew Elena started this game and now he wanted payback.
He compelled her not to say a word other than moan while they make love, he so very enjoyed it when he saw her frown with need to tell him that she is her, before she reached her climax, he could see how mad it made her that he was pleasuring Katherine more than he pleasured her. He could see the words forming in her mouth but he was enjoying this form of revenge, and the more she was frustrated at him, the more overjoyed he was.
Just when she dressed up completely, he pulled out the last straw, "Katerina, I think we should make love more often, you are exquisite, I would like to have you in my bed again."
Elena stood still for a moment and then turned back and said in frustration, "I am not Katherine, I never was, not the first time you mistook me for her nor this time and I can't believe you pleasured Katherine more than you pleasured me the last time we had…" and she covers her mouth with her hands realizing what fault she made.
