Hi, I finally had some time to post this! It's been about a week I believe.
Please tell me what you think (My way of telling you to give me a review :-D)
I hope it's good so far.
Enjoy╰(*°▽°*)╯
Korra had remained motionless on the wall through the night. She awoke in the middle of the next day, the pain came rushing at her, she squeezed her eyes shut to try relive it. That didn't work.
She rose her head, facing the same waterbender, and she could just make out Ukanu standing in the distance outside the cell, although she could here his voice loud and clear as it echoes through the room, "Are you ready for another day full of pain, or will you agree with our terms?"
She was speechless, she didn't know if it was because she was too tired to speak, or she was really torn thinking about the outcomes of her decision. She could refuse, but risk her life doing so, she might not see her family or friends again.
On the other hand, she could give in, not go through anymore of this pain, and she would get to go back to Air Temple Island, but the Agni Kais could gain control of the city if their plans are successful. "No." she whispered.
The waterbender lifted another column of water and shot it at Korra.
She felt that today, the strength of the blasts were higher and much more energised. Her wrists and ankles restrained under cuffs that were bolted to the wall, she couldn't do anything against these attacks. She hated feeling completely helpless.
Hours had passed and she still hadn't given in to accepting her freedom, she just couldn't do it. She couldn't let everyone down again.
The Agni Kais knew Korra was strong, but she gained many injuries fighting Zaheer, not to mention being poisoned by him, so how is she still holding on.
Korra had lost a lot of feeling in her arms from the lack of blood flow reaching them.
After about 4 hours of the waterbender attacking her, with stops in between, her world turned dark and she fell unconscious once again.
"I don't understand how she is still resisting!" The waterbender turned to face his leader, feeling very exhausted.
"We can't predict when she will agree, but it will happen." Ukanu was starting to lose his patience.
"Should I keep going when she wakes up?" the waterbender asked Ukanu, "No, you need a break. And we don't want to end up killing her or this will all be for nothing."
Mako eager to find out if the White Lotus guards have found any leads was searching the island for Tenzin. He looked through the men's dormitories, the Temple but Tenzin was nowhere to be found.
He decided to go to one of Tenzin's meditation spots on the East side of the island. He had to find Tenzin soon, it was almost sundown. Mako had finally located Tenzin, he was meditating on the marble meditation site.
Mako didn't have the courage to interrupt the calm state the Master was in.
"Uh, Tenzin, sir," he finally spoke, causing Tenzin to immediately turn.
"Sorry to interrupt, but, have you heard anything?"
Tenzin heavily sighed, "No. They've searched in the most isolated parts of the city. Nothing"
Tenzin had just realized how annoying being patient can be. This must be what Korra must of felt like during her airbending training.
Mako's heart sank. He walked off in silence. When he got to his room he sat on his bed. He rested his head on his knees and closed his eyes.
He remembered when they arrived back at Air Temple Island after the defeat of The Red Lotus.
Katara walked out the door with a saddened expression written on her face. Tenzin stood from his seat, "how is she mother?!"
"Well, I'm afraid to say she's in a terrible condition. The damage has been done, she has gained many injuries, mostly broken and fractured bones. Not to mention her internal damage caused by the poison. I've done everything I can, but even that might not be enough... there is a chance she may never walk again. And as for her connection to the elements, it has been severed for now, it will take a while for that connection to be reinstated."
When he heard this, he never thought Korra would fully recover. But six months passed and she was able to start walking on crutches. She was healing. Slowly. but healing.
"Hey Mako, how you doing?" Mako's head flew up and there was Bolin standing in his room.
"Ah! When did you- How didn't I notice you?" Mako shot his brother a warning look, but Bolin paid no mind to it. "So, Agni Kais huh. We ran into them a couple times when we were with the Triple Threats. I wonder-" Mako had got up and ran out the door, interrupting Bolin.
"Hey! Where are you going?" Bolin followed Mako all the way out to the island's docks waiting for his brother to answer him. It went from sitting calmly in a room, to bolting outside with no explanation.
"The Triple Threat Triad main headquarters."
Bolin's jaw dropped. "But why?" Bolin didn't want to see them again, he learned his lesson last time, and so did Mako.
"Maybe they know where the Agni Kais are keeping Korra. Or have any helpful information about them." He sounded hopeful, well as hopeful as he could be when the Triple Threats are involved.
The brothers walked onto the ferry heading to Republic city.
when they arrived at the door, Mako took the lead. They walked up to the door, keeping their guard up.
Mako clenched his fist and banged on the door. The man who opened it for them was none other than Viper; leader of the Triple Threats, waterbender, and Mako and Bolin's former partner in crime.
"Well, if it isn't Mako and Bolin. What brings ya here."
The three walked in and Viper took his seat while Bolin and Mako insisted they stay standing.
"We wanted to know if you knew where some of the Agni Kais hideouts were." Mako was hoping for an answer quickly so they could just get out of there.
"And why would we help you Mr Big Shot Mako?"
"The Agni Kais showed up and captured Korra, and we need to find her immediately. So either you help us, or we're out of here." Mako knew it was crucial they find Korra, but the Agni Kais are trouble so he would leave with or without the information.
Viper's eyes narrowed. "Fine. We took advantage of their current position and them losing lots of their members and may or may not have taken some of their hideouts along with the other triads. All us triads know they have one base left, but no one knows where it is. They haven't been seen on the streets lately, I'm guessing their planning something. Why are you so rattled up about all this anyway?"
"Korra got poisoned by madman then got taken! How did you expect us to act." Mako had officially given up on gaining any information for the Triple Threats. "Come on Bo. Let's go." Mako began to think this was a waste of time.
"Oh Mako, you're not still mad about the Sting. It was just business, no hard feelings." Viper had the impression that because Mako was a former Triple Threat he wouldn't care about what happened during the Sting operation. But Mako was definitely affected by what happened.
"Yeah. No hard feelings." Mako muttered sarcastically to himself.
Bolin was a bit confused. He wasn't there that night, Mako had told him about it but given him no additional information.
Viper stood from his seat and walked towards the brothers. "Look, I'm being honest. I really have no clue where their hideout could be. And if I did, it wouldn't even be theirs anymore by the time we would be done with them. If we hear or find anything, we'll let you know."
Bolin followed Mako out the door and back to the ferry's docks. As they waited for the next boat, Bolin broke the silence.
"I've never seen Viper like that." Bolin was left puzzled to the fact that Viper agreed to telling us what he knew without wanting something in return.
Mako stayed silent. What if they never find Korra.
The whole boat ride, neither spoke a word.
