8 years later

The sun is shining, the birds are singing and in the distance the sound of a car speeding down the highway can be heard. In an instant the car speeds past an exit sign causing it to wobble as it was passed. The car in question was a 2016 Camaro in shiny black paint with orange rimmed wheels and an image of a white pinstriped wolf on the hood. As for the rest of the car it had tribal pinstriping along it all in white as well. The Camaro slowly comes to a halt on the side of the road and is parked outside a city limit. The city limit in question was Royal Woods.

Upon the car being turned off we then see a man exit it. This man had black hair and was checking his smartphone. In addition to his black hair the tips were dyed crimson. His hair was a few inches past his shoulders and as for the front it draped a bit over his ears and a few strands laid over his face to the sides of his eyes. Those bright purple eyes that were no doubt contacts. He also had his right ear pierced and the piercing resembled that of a metallic wolf fang. As for his attire a black leather jacket unzipped with a white shirt underneath that had a picture of a japanese dragon cloaked in red scales. He had on some dark blue jeans, black and white converse, and a metal chain hanging from the right side of his pants via two of his pants loops. He no longer had chipped teeth and he had a small scar across his right cheek. He also wore fingerless gloves and sported a pair of metallic midnight blue shades atop his head. Finally a thin silver twisted chain necklace with a ring hung from around his neck. He had put his phone away now and pulled out his white leather wallet. As he did he was taking in the smell of home as well as looking at photos in the flaps of his wallet. The photos were of his multiple families with him in the center. These families were the ones who helped him on his journey and gave him more conviction than before to continue down the path he chose. He was going to have to videochat with everyone later on, but first things first.

"Time to see two special people."

He got back in his car, started it up and sped to Royal Woods and in that moment a thought crossed his mind.

"I wonder if Pop pop and Gran gran will be surprised to see me again so soon again."

He decided to not dwell on it and continued down the road.

"Hello Royal Woods. Shane is back."

About twenty minutes passed before Shane pulled up to a retirement home. As he looked out the window he noticed how it hadn't changed much. After parking on the street he made his way inside towards the front desk. As he did he caught sight of a woman manning the desk.

"Excuse me, miss I was wondering if I could speak with Albert Loud today. Are visiting hours still in affect today?"

At the mention of Albert the receptionist in question then turned to see Shane and as she did her face became one filled with surprise. As Shane looked on at the receptionist he saw the name badge. Sue. His eyes widened. He was surprised that Sue was still here, although he then remembered having heard that she had mellowed over time thanks to actually talking more with the seniors. All courtesy of Albert one of the times they met a few years back by coincidence. As for how she looked now well she looked better.

Shane remembered Sue as being a bit hefty back in the day with her hair tied in a bun and most of all being strict like a certain someone from his past. Heck her demeanor would give off that impression, but now she generally looked more relaxed. Sue had lost some weight over the years probably due to her mellowing. She was still what's the word full figured, but she definitely lost weight. Not only that, but she seemed to radiate a feeling of relaxation when looking at her. It was as if her presence alone would say don't worry about a thing. That coupled with a more genuine smile could only further drive the point she had matured as a person over time.

Now when Sue turned to see Shane there were immediate flags that went off in her head. The black hair with crimson dyed tips, the right ear metal wolf fang piercing, the purple contacts and finally the small scar on his right cheek. Sue already knew who was before her and she was greatly surprised. She was glad to have remembered what Albert had confided in her some time ago. So many questions were coming to her yet she took a breath and composed herself. He was here to see Albert. She pondered whether to simply let him walk in or just call up Albert over the intercom. In the end she gave him a visitor sticker and let him in.

"Albert should be playing shuffleboard with his buddies out back. Go straight and turn left at the group of seniors watching tv and then right at the rack full of canes and walkers."

With Sue's directions Shane thanked her, but before he could walk off he was pulled back for a sec by Sue. As he stared at her in confusion she then spoke.

"Um sorry to ask this of you, but I know from Albert and Myrtle that you had a baby. Umm. Uhh. Sorry, but could I please see a photo of her! Albert and Myrtle haven't let anyone see a picture yet no matter what. I even told them that I would allow them use of the 'quiet' room if they showed me a photo yet they still refused."

Sue was looking at the ground upset, but not completely angry. Upon hearing that Shane was surprised. Albert and Myrtle had really followed his instructions to the T. He was even surprised they were able to resist that kind of bribery yet then again this was them he was talking about. As Shane finished his thought he relented and was about to pull out the photo when he realized he could show everyone later seeing as how he was planning to stay for a bit. He put his wallet away.

"On second thought I'll show you and everyone later Sue."

Sue's face became one of despair, but she accepted it in the end. After all she would finally be permitted to see it today. She just had to be patient.

"Dang it. … Okay well I look forward to it Lin-."

Sue was unable to finish her sentence as Shane shot her a look that told her not to finish that sentence. It was then that she remembered again the circumstance in place and she then showed regret and apologized.

"Sorry 'Shane', I forgot in that split second."

Shane shook his head knowing it was not her fault for the current circumstances. Those were all on him.

"It's okay Sue I mean it's been 8 years. I'll be surprised if anyone doesn't say my real name today."

With that all said and done Shane proceeded to maneuver through the retirement home following the directions provided until he finally reached the back whereas Sue had told him Albert was currently playing shuffleboard with his buddies and close by was Myrtle watching from a distance. From the look of it Albert had just won either the game or both the game and some bet seeing as how he was giving Myrtle a seductive look which she returned in earnest along with a chew of her lip.

"Wow 8 years really hasn't slowed them down at all has it?"

Shane's thoughts on the display soon subsided. He gulped down his mild anxiety and began making his way towards them. As he came closer his footsteps soon became audible to everyone as they turned to see who was approaching. What followed upon seeing who was walking towards them left everyone slack jawed at who they saw. Everyone was unable to speak due to the rush of information currently going through their minds on who the one before them was. The silence though was broken as Shane looked to Albert then Myrtle. He then broke the silence.

"Pop Pop, Gran Gran good to see you guys again."

Shane wore a smile as he spoke. His anxiety had given way to knowing where he was right now would be a safe place. As for those around him. Nothing. No noise, not a peep. Not even a single random fart from anyone. A few moments passed before Albert and Myrtle managed to regain their senses; they then took another good look and then ran at Shane with smiles of their own enveloping him in a big hug while laughing at how good it was to see him again. He returned the hug in earnest then stood back as he removed his contacts to show his brilliant blue eyes. It was then that everyone else gasped as the pieces came together. They then all called out one name.

"Shane!"

After that outburst as well as the many congratulations and questions on whether or not they could see some photos Shane was surprised that no one called him by his real name in fact he was relieved. Even if the chances were small he couldn't have his sisters or parent's finding out he was back yet. No that he wanted to do on his own terms. He had plenty to tell them, but figured he would have to endure a hell load of berating, apologizing from him and them, beat downs which he was still not certain he should take and finally questions that they would want answers to. For now though he wanted to enjoy this moment and then showed everyone the many photos of his daughter as well as his other siblings and families he met in his travels. He made sure no one got copy's then later got them all back. Then came for the talk he wanted to have with Albert and Myrtle. They then took him to their room in the retirement home and then began to talk.

"Honestly it's great to see you guys again."

Shane was indeed happy to be there and talk with them again. It had been a while since their last face to face talk.

"Heh heh Shane my little look alike it's great to see you again too. Me and Myrtle have been wondering when your next letter would come in, but this is even better!"

Albert couldn't help, but smile at Shane.

"Little look alike? Heh heh sorry my hair's not white right now and I'm not so short anymore. Heh from what I've heard I'm actually a bit taller than Lori now."

Shane was in a happy mood.

"Heh heh well you're not wrong kiddo so what brings you here, actually I can probably take a guess, but fill us in anyway."

Albert and Myrtle then waited for Shane to continue. No doubt it was what he was thinking considering he came to meet them in the flesh instead of a letter or a special video call.

"I'm back because I finally found where I belong. I found many talents which explained why I never could find the one. Heh turns out my actual talent is being a jack of all trades. Well that and art, but I still lean more towards being a jack of all trades. Crazy huh."

Albert and Myrtle were so proud and happy for him he finally found where he belonged and realised his talent albeit a surprising one. They were so happy that he finally had his question answered, but they were then thrown for a loop when Shane continued.

"Oh yeah … I'm also here because … I think it's time that I saw 'them' again."

Now this brought Albert and Myrtle to full attention. Was now really the time for this to happen? Albert was the first to respond.

"You sure you're ready to face them kido."

Worry was present in Albert's and Myrtle's respective gaze's yet Shane nodded.

"Honestly I think it's about time, but I'm not going to say I'm not nervous. I mean it's been 8 years since we've actually seen each other."

Shane couldn't help feeling remorse about that fact.

Albert and Myrtle looked at him then told him the same thing that everyone else said when he told them his plan.

"We've got your back Shane. Remember we all swore to it."

Shane smiled. Happy to know he still had support.

"Thanks for that. Huh. Well okay. So is there anything you guys want an update on? I plan on being here a bit so ask away."

Upon hearing those magic words Myrtle reacted faster than a quick draw and beat Albert to the first question which was how he was doing financially. To which Shane then told them about the many sculptures he still makes, the collections he sends out, the books he writes and the sponsorships that back him. In all honesty he was doing very well financially. What caught Albert and Myrtles attention from all that though was surprisingly not the sponsorships he had, but the fact that he wrote books.

"Wait you're published!"

Both Albert and Myrtle's eyes popped open with surprise. This was a definite surprise.

"Shu shu shu shu shush! Keep it down. I don't need everyone getting ideas then finding me out!"

Shane hushed them while explaining how he would prefer for him being published to not be public knowledge. Albert and Myrtle covered their mouths in an attempt to take it all back or simply to shut themselves up. Shane then continued.

"Now yes I'm published. I got introduced to some people when my promoter read my fanfiction and then brought out the idea of me possibly writing a book. As I just told you it came out pretty well. Heck it somehow became a bestseller due to how relatable it was."

Albert and Myrtle immediately hugged him and congratulated him. Never did they think something like this would happen, but they were so glad it did. After that little spectacle was over they asked if he could show them his signature to which Shane hesitated with, but upon looking at them and the look of joy in their eyes he relented and grabbed a piece of paper and pen from Alberts desk and did his signature on it with the help of a nearby book as a base. The signature read Kuro Hibi complete with both the K and H having special extension touches done to them to make them unique. The K's second leg led into forming a certain eye that resembled that of a snake while the H led into a small pattern of scales. When his signature was shown to them they froze. There Albert and Myrtle sat frozen, but not looking at him. No, they were looking past him. They were like that for a good minute. Shane was surprised at the reaction that is until he followed their gaze as he turned his head uneasily to the nearby bookshelf. His eyes dilated a bit as he could clearly make out the name of some of the books. He was very surprised to see them here. He saw three of his books, but that third on the shelf across from the other books he saw made him take pause.

"That book? That's? It can't be?"

Shane was stunned. By the looks of it Albert had a first edition, but not just any first edition it was of his first book and one that Shane personally hand signed before they hit the shelves. It came with some commentary that other editions didn't carry. He only signed the first editions and as for the rest they were just photo copied. A total of 500 copies were signed by him personally and honestly he still remembered how sore his hand was after that week. As the shock wore off Albert and Myrtle just looked at him as he too was shocked before embracing him in another hug. This hug though was accompanied by much more happiness. After they all calmed down Albert and Myrtle congratulated him again and expressed their feelings on his books. From what Shane could tell they were big fans seeing as how Albert's two other books were also first editions also hand signed by him except these were for early release a month before the grand release. From here he was bombarded by questions on when the next book was coming out, what was the idea behind said book and if they could both get a few first editions. At the mention of that, Shane looked at them in confusion.

"Does anyone else here read my books?"

Shane was honestly curious if anyone else read his books here. Albert then decided to answer.

"Everyone here reads your books. … Even your old family reads them."

Shane was about to respond until Albert mentioned something that got his attention.

"Your little sister Lily is also a big fan of yours."

That right there was a surprise, but then it gave Shane the answer to his question about what to do with the contents of his car trunk.

"So everyone's a fan huh? … Even Lily?"

The thought of his old family drew out a sigh and a sad face as Shane then looked to the floor. Remembering again what he had to do while he was in town.

"How have they been lately? I've kept up with what they've done that's made news and gotten word from the others on how things have been here and there to avoid being caught every now and then, but honestly as of now how have they been?"

Both Albert and Myrtle looked at him taking a seat on either side of him and telling him they've been doing a little better. Albert then began with a refresher and then added to it.

"Lori is still engaged to Bobby and the wedding day has finally been picked out for a few months from now. As for Lori herself she has been busy with work lately, but still makes time to hang out with the family. She and Bobby have actually got a house in the area so they are living close to home. She can usually be seen in a business suit these days. She works for a cell phone company and has recently been promoted. She also does baking on the side and I'm betting your father got her into it."

Shane was happy she was doing okay. He still remembered hearing the pain from the others about what his sisters were going through. The times when he would check in which were sadly not many since he didn't want to be found back then. That aside he was glad she was doing better.

"Of course she has her bad days as do the rest of them. They still have your room you know. In fact it's Lily's now and she has actually become what you used to be."

Shane looked at Albert with surprise. What he used to do was not easy in any capacity and now Lily had taken up his old mantle. He may have rubbed off on her more than he thought.

"So she took over as peacekeeper huh. How has that gone?"

Shane was curious to hear of Lily's achievements and struggles.

"It's gone well, of course like you she struggled and still does from time to time. It really is difficult to try and please everyone. Although she does have a bigger backbone and amount of patience then you did back then."

Shane looked back at Albert a bit insulted, but then realized that since he was the only boy besides his dad at home it led to complications that at times he couldn't help, but blow up at all of them for it. He sighed and gave a small laugh. Understanding he had the short end of the stick back then considering their family dynamic.

"So how long before she snaps and how well can she dish it out?''

Shane was very interested in hearing about Lily's apparent bigger back bone and amount of patience. He wanted to see how he stacked up to her. Albert, seeing the look of intrigue in Shane's eyes, then spoke with a smile.

"Honestly it takes a while to set her off, but when you do you better be ready because when she goes after you she is relentless. There was this one time Lynn got on her bad side due to her breaking a limited edition figurine with a misplaced shot-put."

Shane was immediately shocked by this until Albert told him to let him finish. As it turned out the incident happened at the local park. No one was there except for Lynn and a few of the others. The shot-put went sailing through the air where it then ended up hitting a tree which then dropped a branch which then landed on said figurine crushing it. Lily wasn't near it since was called over to play with Lana, but upon hearing the fall of the branch, seeing fragments of her figurine and the nearby shot-put. … Lets just say Lily was not in the best of moods later that day. Shane was honestly surprised. He had almost forgotten how crazy things could get with his family, but seriously a shot-put in a public park? Lynn may have been asking for something to happen that day.

"Heh heh Lynn wasn't able to shake her for 3 days. Everywhere she went Lily followed and gave her what she had coming whether it be getting knocked to the ground with a sudden tackle, a quick gut punch as she turned a corner, tripping her as they passed, tying her shoelaces while she ate lunch, then that one time with a stink bomb in the girls bathroom and the door was locked."

Shane could only try and stop his laughter of little Lily being able to dish out revenge to those she thought needed some especially Lynn since as he recalled she recently competed in the Olympics. While there she received recognition and became a well known athlete for her performance so to get the drop on her even back in the day was difficult especially if she found out you were behind it. Pop pop saw the smile on Shane's face and then told him how they all still think about him and have actually gotten into a few of his interests. Such as gaming, cosplay, as well as planning ahead and surprisingly that habit he had whenever he read comics which they do, basically reading in their underwear.

"So they finally realized it's comfortable that way huh?"

He grinned at the thought then pushed it away before it got weird.

"Okay so that's more info then I thought, but what about the others."

Albert and Myrtle smiled and told him how Leni was becoming a more popular fashion designer and how she was less what's the word 'ditzy' then she used to be and has a good relationship with Agro Ace. She learned kendo from him and is into cosplay.

Luna was currently on tour with her band, but the tour was set to finish soon. She would then be taking a break so her and her band could spend time with their families. She also was studying on the side to get into programming. She apparently wanted to put her music in video's she and her band make. She also apparently games every now and then and is currently engaged to Sam.

Luan has become an amazing comedian and is currently in Vegas doing a couple of performances. She has also been on tour recently and it is set to finish soon with the last of the Vegas shows. She has even taken up some martial arts since she has had a few hecklers get physical with her. Besides that though she doesn't make jokes every chance she gets like she used to. She is also studying to get into business such as recruitment agencies. Also she has taken to the latest gaming console out there and has recently been engaged to Maggie.

Lynn has been going everywhere competing in this or that and is currently on a football team. They are set to play their final match of the season and with how they've been doing they are a shoe in to win the finals. Lynn has gotten tougher over the years and has had a steady and sometimes shaky romance with Ulfric, but as of late has been doing better especially when it comes to expressing her feelings instead of playing the tough girl act she used to. There have even been rumors that Ulfric plans to pop the question to her soon. She also has taken up dancing, but no one knows what kind.

Lucy is still goth but has recently started showing her left eye. She has a new hair style and has the tips of her hair dyed dark blue. She has become a poet and author and is currently using the pen name Cerina Makoto. She is still in a relationship with Rocky and is currently aiming for a degree in creative writing. She is also a best selling author. She is currently still at home working from her room in the attic now. She even keeps a pet raven along with her bats.

Lana had recently come home after helping her racing idol Bobby Fletcher on the racing circuit and is one of her best mechanics. She has really improved on her knowledge of cars and has become a widely respected handy woman. She is still dating Skippy and can usually be seen dirty from the day, but she has been cleaner than she used to be. She still has that gap in her teeth though. She is also volunteering at pet clinics and hospitals as well as wrestling animals to the ground like gators from time to time. She can also be seen playing games that involve racing or car customization at some point.

As for Lola she is still a princess, but one with a better attitude. She has gotten prettier over the years and has had many guys fawn over her, but she never betrays Winston and has even thrown guys into garbage cans for insulting Winston's lack of a backbone. She still competes in pageants and has long since stopped wearing princess dresses everywhere she goes. She is on better terms with Lana and is not against getting dirty as she used to be. She does still blackmail, but only when she thinks it will be worth it. She has really grown into a much more respected lady and has recently taken up playing the dance simulator games you used to play.

Lisa is still a genius and has recently gotten another award for work on having someone's eyes that no longer work replaced with cybernetic ones to once again restore their vision. She has grown to use more caution with her experiments and has even found a way to regrow her hair and teeth since she was wearing a wig and false teeth for most of her young life. She is still friends with Darcey and has yet to find a boy she finds intriguing. She has taken up break dancing and rapping in her spare time and has been seen dance-battling Lola at times when they happen to go to the arcade. She has blossomed into a much more mature young woman who understands the meaning of 'consent to studies'. She doesn't go around gathering data on people without permission unless she is worried about them.

Finally as for little Lily as has been previously mentioned she has become the new peacekeeper. She helps the family by mediating, or by giving them a wake up call to whatever argument they are having. She has taken up art and appears to have a knack for it. She can sculpt and draw. She has already found her talent which everyone was happy about. She almost acts like you and she even gets compared to you. She is a gamer, planner and not someone you want to tick off. She loves spending time with her family and at times shows them some of her work. She is a rising young artist and is also a big reader. She follows the author Kuro Hibi and has been a big fan for a while now. She also is a fan of Lucy's stories. She loves learning new things, but at times can be shy around others. Currently no love interest, but she isn't looking right now.

From the sounds of it everyone is doing great and Shane couldn't be happier. He's glad to know his sisters are still in relationships, but honestly he expected for one of them to have a kid by now. If anyone he expected Lori seeing as how whenever she got with Bobby she never wanted to leave his side and he hers! Introducing his wife later on was going to be tricky after all, but even more so now. So is introducing his daughter! He figured some might pass out and even made a bet with Albert and Myrtle on how many of his family might faint when they find out. Shane bet 5 of his family would faint while Albert and Myrtle bet that 6 would faint. The terms. If Shane wins they have to help him with a project which would be named later. If they won they would get a whole day with his daughter and wife. He was hesitant to accept their terms, but went ahead and agreed. The bet was set.

"Okay well that was a lot of info that I'm going to process later thanks for that. Hmm okay so now with that out of the way I need to go see some friends and check up on a project."

Shane stood, hugged Albert and Myrtle and was about to go until a thought came to him.

"Hey wait. Do you guys want to come with me?"

Albert and Myrtle were surprised for a moment before standing and accepting the invitation on the spot. They soon made their way and cleared everything with Sue before heading to Shane's car. Albert and Myrtle were so ecstatic about this visit not ending so soon and when they gazed at his Camaro they once again had their jaws drop.

"This is yours!"

Shane nodded as he unlocked the car and started it up as Albert and Myrtle both got in still awestruck. Albert in the passenger and Myrtle in the back seat. They can hear the engine and they see all the features the car comes with then as he can feel them brimming with questions he answers.

"Yes this is my car, no I didn't buy it like this, yes its insured, it's all custom, I have a few friends who hooked me up, I designed it and it's fast enough to put a good number of hot rods and speedster to shame."

At that moment their mouths closed until another question came to mind.

"How much did this car cost?"

Shane upon hearing that then spoke up and told them not to ask how much a ride like this costs since to some they will see it as a total waste. They soon piped down and just let him drive. They drove for a good twenty minutes until they stopped by a building that read CRLZ Gaming. They found a parking spot and then proceeded to the front door.

"Wow so this is where they work? Honestly not so bad for a startup gaming company."

As Shane's comment was left in the air Albert spoke up.

"That's right, your friends have been doing well lately with those three computer games they recently released. As for the others they are still popular."

Albert wore a smile as he finished which then led to Shane pausing as he gathered his thoughts.

"Hmm if i remember correctly pop pop it was a monster raising farm game, a collectable online card game, and a small rpg game they'll be adding to as time goes by."

Shane soon spoke up again, remembering the titles.

"They were Monster Hive, Makora, and Cursed Fate. Come to think of it I wonder how long they worked on those names?"

With his comment finished they came up to the front desk and were greeted by a woman with light orange hair, green eyes and her hair past her shoulders. She wore a light yellow over shirt with a black top underneath and there on the desk was her name plate. Paige. Shane got her attention as she looked up from her book that if Shane was correct was one of his. Upon looking at them, Paige was about to welcome them until she noticed Albert and Myrtle then the strange man next to them. She was about to speak until Shane beat her to it.

"So Paige, they have you running the receptionist table? I figured Clyde and the others would have you helping them come up with new game ideas. Don't tell me that princess K-Pop has lost her edge over the years"

Paige's eyes immediately widened as her mouth dropped. Princess K-Pop was her dance battle name on the dance game's she played at arcades. Beating her records were tough for all except for two 'Pain' and 'Ace'. They were the only ones who knew her game name. She then looked at the man again and put two and two together. He knows her game name, knows who she is, knows about Clyde and the others and came in with Lincoln's grandfather and step grandmother. She then let a single name in a quiet whisper with a subtle look of disbelief.

"Lincoln?"

Shane then looked at her with a hint of mischievous annoyance of hearing his name being said by Paige.

"Hey, didn't you guys help me get a new name?"

Shane was pestering her in a teasing manner to which she looked at him then had a small laugh before soon grabbing the intercom, although she didn't get to use it since Shane got it from her with little difficulty and then placed it back on her counter. This motion caught her off guard.

"Paige don't go warning everyone that I'm back. Come on I wanted to surprise you guys."

Paige looked at him and smiled then proceeded to tackle hug him to which it surprised her that he was able to stay standing. His new physique was not just for show. After that small exchange the next question he found out to be the obvious one any of his friends would ask about.

"So can I see a photo of her?"

Shane took out his wallet to show her his little girl. She squealed with excitement then gave him a look that he responded to immediately.

"Yes you and the others can consider yourselves uncles and aunts."

In answer to that declaration/promise, Paige wore a great big smile and unlocked the door behind her. She then ushered them into the rest of the building, but not before leaving a break time sign at her counter. As she leads them into the building she brings up the question

"So if you're back I guess that means you're going to see them again and you need our help?"

Shane didn't even get to speak more than 'yes' before he was cut off.

"Since you're obviously not going to do it right away I guess that means you want everyone to meet up first and possibly have a welcome home party which will then go into a plan about how to see your family again."

She hit the nail right on the head and didn't let Shane finish his own response.

"What was your high school GPA again and what are you studying in college?"

Shane hoped for a response since he was curious.

"Yeah not telling Shane."

The conversation was left at that while Paige wore a confident grin. They soon reached the game testing area and there at the computers were Shane's old friends. His best men via video chat. They were Clyde, Rusty, Liam, and Zach and there sitting on the desk of each of his friends' desks were their girlfriends and one other friend. Haiku was on Clyde's desk writing in her journal, Margo was on Rusty's checking her phone, Giggles was on Zach's cleaning a gag can and as for Liam, Tabby was strumming her guitar trying to tune it. As it turns out though according to Liam and Tabby they both were just friends with a similar interest in gaming genres.

As Shane, Albert, Myrtle and Paige walked in they were unnoticed by the group. Shane then took a moment to hide as he instructed Paige on what to do next. She then grew a mischievous grin as the plan was relayed to her. She and his grandparents then leave the room to begin the plan. Paige first sends a group text to the girls. They soon hear their phones chime then leave the room saying Paige needed them for a minute. Without looking Clyde and the others nodded as the girls left the room. When they were out Paige quickly locked the door to the room and began filling in the girls just as Shane appeared from his hiding spot. He waved to the girls from inside the room and began creeping towards his friends. As he did the girls found themselves with happy tears and soon giggling as they learned Shane was back and what he was going to do.

Shane finally reached his prey who were far too focused on the computer screens to notice a presence behind them. He then produced an air horn and then three small balls in his other hand in between his fingers from his jacket. He then put his prank into action with a grin. Shane then blows the air horn and follows it by throwing down the balls which then released a cloud of smoke. Turns out they were smoke bombs. Clyde and the others were surprised by the unexpected air horn that they fell out of their chairs backwards just as the pellets hit the floor. Blinded by smoke they were each then quickly pulled by their feet by Shane. Unsure of what to do they each struggled to break free upon being grabbed. This struggle though continued even after Shane left the smoke cloud. The result of all four struggling led to them pummeling each other thinking the other was the one who was dragging them away moments prior. The smoke cleared in a few minutes, but while it was there you could hear the punches, smack's, groin kick's and battle cries from each of them. All the while Shane, his grandparents, Paige and the others watched the scuffle coming from the smoke cloud when they re-entered the room. They all tried to control their laughter as the spectacle continued.

As the spectacle did continue everyone soon got control of themselves. After they did the girls then each went up to Shane and hugged him. It was still a surprise to see him.

"Heh hah good to see you again mate!"

Tabby was the first to speak up with a big smile at seeing Shane again. As she did though Shane got a better look at her and how she had changed. She was just a few inches shorter than him. Her hair was still in the same style as before except now the back was down slightly past her shoulders. Her outfit wasn't that different from what she used to wear, but there were differences. Her shirt was a tank top with horizontal black and white stripes and let him notice she had grown some cleavage over the years. It wasn't much, but it was most likely a B if he remembered how to judge based on sight alone. Her usual dark purple jacket was now a dark purple vest. Her usual skirt was now a pair of black jeans with tears here and there and there was also her signature white boots and belt. The only other surprise Shane saw when he looked at her was that she had full teeth. That missing tooth finally grew in.

"Glad to see you again Tabby wow someone grew more beautiful over the years. You sure you and Liam aren't an item?"

A punch in the arm was felt as Tabby snickered before telling him to drop that question already. She had apparently already gotten everyone else to drop it very recently. With a smile Shane nodded and was then approached by Haiku.

"Shane, it's good to see you again."

Haiku wore a smile as she gave Shane a more calmer hug than Tabby. When she separated Shane got a better look at her. Haiku's hairstyle was the same as ever with only her right eye being visible. Her current look consisted of the same outfit she used to wear. The only exception was that there was clearly another outfit under her dress. The outline made that clear if you really looked, but as Shane looked back to her face he noticed there was one final detail he missed. There on Haiku's ring finger he saw something that made him smile. A promise ring. A promise ring on her right hand. Shane hoped to get the scoop about it, but for now he just continued the smile. As Giggles approached.

"Hey Shane good to see you again."

Now Giggle's new look threw Shane for a loop. Now sure he saw it when they came upon the room, but he just decided to hold off before reacting. Now was when he could react. Her hair was still kept in twin buns, but as for her outfit. She wasn't in a clown costume. She lacked the diamond eye shadow red nose and clown getup she used to wear. Her current outfit consisted of a light green womens blouse. No fabric at the shoulders, but there was fabric that went from both sides of the shirt to go down to her elbows. Buttons were shown to be fastened thus concealing her chest. She also wore some gray shorts accompanied by some normal light green hi-tops. All in all her outfit surprised him the most yet he felt she was missing something. He saw no ring on her hand's promise or otherwise which surprised him. He figured Zach would have gotten her at least that much then again that shirt may have been a gift. He had no way of knowing for now. As he finished observing her he was met by the last of the girls. Margo.

"Ever heard of giving us a call or what? … Just messing around it's good to see you again Shane."

As Shane took better notice of Margo he saw she really grew into a woman who may be out of Rusty's league. Wait is that okay to say? Shane took notice of how Margo had definitely grown some assets yet they were a modest size. Her hair was currently in a ponytail and was most likely that way to keep her hair from hitting Rusty. Her outfit consisted of a woman's sport jersey displaying Royal Woods color scheme. She also wore some blue jeans and a pair of black slip-on shoes. If he had to guess this was her casual look. Despite all this Shane was still impressed. She would definitely be turning heads along with the others here. He finally looked at her hands. Same as with Giggles. Nothing.

"Man Rusty really needs to put some ring on that."

As Shane pondered what two of his friends were thinking the girls as a group huddled then looked to their hands. It became clear what Shane was checking for. They all smiled. He was still so caring despite already being off the market.

Once his thoughts were finished and vice versa the girls Shane then got into why he was there as the fight continued in the background. He wanted to take a look at the upcoming updates and figured his friends wouldn't mind. With that Paige and the others lead him to the main computer where they allowed him access. He began to scroll through the notes as well as the coding making sure not to move anything, but he does grab a nearby pen and paper and begins jotting down small notes on holes in the programing that he has found. He was honestly surprised that his limited knowledge of coding was actually coming in handy. He really just wanted to see if he understood anything and it seems it was more than enough to find a few errors. He was glad to contribute. The smoke cloud finally clears up and Clyde, Rusty, Liam and Zack can be seen laying there on the floor panting with a few bruises here and there. They manage to slowly sit themselves up only to see they apparently beat each other up. They then look back to their computers then to the main computer as they hear a commotion. Upon glancing they take notice of the girls, and who appear to be Lincoln's grandparents.

"Wait what's happening? Why is everyone at the main computer? Where's the one who blew the air horn and threw smoke bombs? And Who is at the Main computer?!"

Clyde and the others couldn't fathom who was here or why what happened happened. All they did know was that someone was looking at their work and they did not take kindly to hackers. They soon bolted up and ran for the main computer. Upon reaching it they all stop to see someone with purple eyes black hair with red dyed tips and a cool way of dressing taking notes at their computer. Shane stops his note taking short. He stands and then faces Clyde and the others.

"So how are my B.M.V.V.C doing?"

Shane was looking at them straight in the eyes with a smile and a smidge of anger, but it was minor.

"B.M.V.V.C?"

Clyde, Rusty, Liam and Zach said in unison. They were thrown off, yet there was something familiar yet different. Haiku and the others facepalmed as they saw the hours of being glued to a computer screen for the past few months had in doubt taken their toll. The look Shane received from the girls via cough and a few interpretations of being on a computer day in and out were enough to give him a clearer image of the current state of his friends. He then helped them.

"… My best men via video chat."

Upon hearing those words Clyde and the others immediately blinked repeatedly before stopping. They then looked to Shane again as their eyes dilated. They were now broken. Shane was about to go up and see if they were okay until he saw Haiku, Margo, Tabby and Giggles respectively smack each boy's face until they each came back to their senses. They each seemed to come back as if nothing was wrong before locking eyes with Shane again . This time though they wore faces of confusion as they approached him. They were unsure especially with this look yet the resemblance was still somewhat there.

"Lincoln?"

They all asked at once still reeling from their exhaustion and sudden wake up slaps. They were still unsure and it was evident to Shane seeing as how they had forgotten a crucial detail about him. Mild annoyance soon arose on his face.

"Come on guys I expected at least you guys to remember my other name."

Shane's retort with a bit of a sigh to his voice afterwards soon snapped the others out of their stupor and with that a smile blanketed each of their faces. Upon hearing that confirmation his friends tackle-hugged him and were surprised when they couldn't knock him down. They were ecstatic about him being back. They had so many questions on what he's currently up to, why he's back, and why he came here instead of setting up a meeting?

"Sigh"

Shane knew this was going to be a rough first day. A few minutes passed and Shane told them how he was back to finally see his family again or at least try to, how he didn't want Lisa to track down his voice or email information and how he also had some other projects in the works right now, one in fact was a few miles from town about a good hours drive. Then of course came the can we see a photo of your little girl as she is now. He agreed and after the cooing and congradulations they went to a table to discuss the next phase of plan 'Snow Peak' now that Shane was back.

"Okay so the next step in this plan of yours is for everyone to get together like last time, but this time for a welcome home party instead of your going away party like last time."

Clyde spoke upon determining the next course of action in Shane's plan. Shane nodded. Clyde then brought out his phone and group-messaged everyone that he needed to, to tell them how they all needed to meet and how it had to do with Shane. They would all meet up later online to discuss a time and place to meet. Everyone's phones went off except for Shane's of course. With the message sent Shane filled them in on what else he had planned and how he wanted to see if Lily would come. She shouldn't be able to tell who he is unless someone tells her. To which the friends were surprised. One that he wanted to see Lily first, and that he is the author Kuro Hibi,. He was even willing to sign their copies of his books later. As it turns out they were fans of his.

A few minutes later.

"Okay you guys that should be every book you guys had in here. Flattered you guys like my books really, but it's still a surprise. Also Clyde you still have everyone's else's numbers right?"

Shane wanted to make sure before he went ahead and started setting everything up especially on short notice. But Clyde assured him he had everyone including those who weren't at the original meeting.

"I got this Shane don't worry we still got your back remember."

Clyde then wore a comforting smile as he held up his phone and then sent out another mass message to this time everyone who wasn't at the meeting.

With a smile Shane thanks them all, gives out a few hugs and before he can leave through those double doors of the testing area a question that he's been dreading to ask since he came back arose. He knew he had to ask it, but that knowledge had a good chance of leaving him disappointed. He had not been told by Pop pop and Gran gran so all signs pointed to the worst possible scenario. He then turned to them all.

"You guys. … Did they ever find any of them? They did ever learn why or even how things ended up this way?"

Shane's eyes displayed grief from the get go. And his friend could not fault him for it. Just as he thought this knews would not be good at all. Clyde then spoke for the group.

"I'm sorry Shane. … They never found any of the trunks."

With that Shane could only now feel that he was right to be depressed. He raised his head to the ceiling then let out a massive sigh filled with knowing dissatisfaction and sadness.

"Uuuggghhh I knew I hid them good, but I hid them that good?! … … Well huh from what you guys told me they did take me disappearing without a trace hard as anyone else would if their family suddenly disappeared. Still! I figured one of them would have found at least one of the trunks I left behind which would have then led to the house being torn apart. I guess not though huh."

Albert and Myrtle give Shane some support which he takes and then thanks Clyde and the others before heading out. Once they left Clyde then walked over to the main computer to see the notepad Shane was writing in. After inspecting the notes he was shocked. There were notes on where and how someone could put a backdoor into 'Cursed Fate' and literally mess with it to get extra free drops. This update was still being worked on, but this should make launching it later on go a lot more smoothly. Clyde made a mental note as well as the others once they saw the notepad themselves to really thank Shane for the help next time they see him at the party.

Now back in the car Shane and his grandparents go to their last stop. The drive there took almost an hour to get to. Albert and Myrtle were unsure of where they were going next since Shane kept saying it was a surprise worthy of secrecy. They continued to rack their brains until they saw multiple construction signs along the road. Couple that with the many houses in the area still being under construction and you have them wondering if Lincoln is a contractor. They grew very curious, unfortunately Shane thought it would be best if they just saw for themselves.

Upon reaching their destination they are surprised to see as they pull into a rock pathway that leads them to a big white house similar to a mansion complete with a big yard front and back, a pool and a large garage. Although upon closer inspection the house is clearly not yet ready. In fact there are still machines around pouring cement here, grinding metal there, even people still painting the exterior of the house, but not white. They were adding in scenery and symbols along certain parts of the house. As they come to a complete stop Albert and Myrtle then look to the side to see a mobile office along with many more RV's this was a job that had everyone stay over and work each day. The RV's even all had the same logo. This was definitely a company that took care of its workers.

As Albert and Myrtle broke from their shock of seeing so many RV's they then looked to Shane as he opened his door. They soon followed him as they all made their way to the mobile office that read foreman. Upon reaching the door Shane took the initiative and knocked on the door before heading inside to meet the foreman. Once inside Shane was the first to speak up.

"So how are things going Lancer?"

The foreman now known as Lancer then looks up from his paperwork and schematics to look at his guests. His eyes could be seen to sparkle as he locked eyes on Shane. He rose from his seat and as he did he removed his hard hat. Lancer was a man of moderate build and height. He did have muscle, but was by no means ripped. His current attire was a red shirt with the image of Sashimi. It read Sashimi or my Life. Apart from that he wore a classic workers orange reflector vest. He wore some Grey pants with noticeable dry bits of concrete attached to it around the shins of the pants. Finally some Brown work boots. As for how Lancer looked he had brown eyes, was of African American descent and had a black trimmed mustache and beard that only went as wide as his mouth and only as far as a bit past his chin. The final detail about Lancer was how when he removed his hat it was revealed he had a shaved head.

"Shane Komamura, it's a pleasure to see you again sir. So what brings you out here besides checking in on the progress of your home?"

Lancer was definitely surprised to see Shane, but at the same time he was glad. He had good news for him. Shane then decided to speak first.

"Well Lancer or Mr. Nicholson I did come to check progress like you suspected, get reacquainted with the expenses so far, see what still needs completion and see if there is anything else I have to approve. … Oh I also brought my grandparents along to get their opinions on the house."

Lancer now known as Mr. Nicholson then looked to Albert and Myrtle and greeted them with a warm smile to which they did the same.

"Well I'm glad you all could make it and as a matter of fact there are a few things we need you to sign off on and good news. We'd like to inform you that we are ahead of schedule."

Shane was happy due to that news. He was curious how though.

"How far ahead are you guys?"

Seeing the surprise Lancer then continued.

"We are ahead by a good 2 weeks actually. In fact thanks to that we're almost done. We managed to actually complete a few of your side projects early due to materials arriving earlier than anticipated. The company that handles materials apparently messed up their delivery schedules and ended up giving us an express delivery. Lucky us. We're finishing up the inside and a few outdoor areas as well. We're also running checks multiple times after something has been installed. We don't care for screw ups after the job is done."

Shane once again was happy, he was then handed some forms which he and his grandparents looked over. Albert and Myrtle were surprised by what Shane was signing off on as well as the expenses that were taken to pay for this house. Still he read and signed form after form, not even fazed by the amounts he was paying. When all was said and done Shane and Lancer shook hands followed by a hug and then to Lancers surprise Shane pulled out 3 forms from his jacket.

"Shane? What are those? If I didn't know any better I'd say you want more additions to this place. Am I right?"

As Lancer finished up he then looked to Shane as he then handed over the forms with a smile. Lancer was stunned as he saw the cover of each form.

"These forms. Are these all contracts? I don't get it. … These are not for anything you can build here?"

Shane seeing the confusion then decided to simply fill Lancer in.

"Lancer, I recommended you and your team to some of the people I've met over the years. I had called them up and they had mentioned how they were each trying to find a group of workers for a project or two they needed built. Those forms go over where the job is, what they are prepared to pay you guys, they are even willing to go by your guys time just like me. Oh and they wanted to tell you pay is also negotiable."

Lancer couldn't believe it. Him and his crew once they finished up Shane's house would have more work opportunities. Lancer wasted no time looking through each contract at his desk while going over each page marking here and there. He was really marking them up and with a smile on his face. A few moments passed before Lancer placed them all down on his desk and rose from his seat. What immediately followed was a big hearty sobbing hug courtesy of Lancer to Shane.

"Thank you, thank you, thank. … Lincoln, thank you."

Shane couldn't help but hug back with as much force as Lancer, while also mildly chiding him on how they were still using his other name.

"Code name Lancer. Remember?"

Shane wore a smile regardless.

After Lancer regained his composure he thanked Shane once again for the work opportunities and told him if he ever needed anything else for the property to give him and his guys a call. With his business there done Shane, Albert, and Myrtle left to the car while all the workers cried out in joy at hearing they had 3 new contracts for work over the radios. With that Shane left the area, but not before placing a pizza order for Lancer and his crew as he took off. When the pizza and drinks later arrived and they heard it was from Shane they all thanked him once again wherever he was now.

Back on the road.

Shane and his grandparents were heading back to the retirement home after a long day while having a conversation over his expenses.

"Were you guys really that surprised about the cost of the house?"

Shane asked as he drove with a smidge of a grin on his face. Anyone would freak at what he was spending, but at the end of the day the house was custom and custom was always expensive, but worth it in the end.

"Of course we were Lincoln! Oh! I mean Shane. Uh sorry about that."

In that moment Albert forgot to address Lincoln as Shane. Even he knew how well Lisa could track someone and he hoped he hadn't just blown Shane's cover. He looked back to Shane who was calm and had a reassuring face on.

"It's okay Pop pop this car is jamming any and all tracking and spying equipment constantly. If Lisa tried to hone in on any info about this car I'd know about it."

Albert was glad to hear that, but upon looking at the car again and its feature it once again brought out curiosity.

"Now you have me wondering again how much money you put into this car."

Albert's response was noted by Shane who only replied saying he didn't want to know, but that the car was insured in case anything happened. As they all continued on their way Albert and Myrtle couldn't help, but see a few unique buttons and switches hidden around the car and a handful on the main dash. They wanted to know what their functions were. It was evident on their faces as they kept eyeing each switch they could see. Shane knowing it was inevitable for their curiosity to take over then flipped a switch on the dash which then led to the sound of a lock going off in front of Albert.

"This switch was to keep the glove box locked. The car manual is in there. It lists every switch and button in here so feel free to look it over."

Shane could only tell this would lead to them being more surprised about what the car was outfitted with.

Albert opened the glove box as instructed and then began to read the manual to himself. Luckily he had brought his reading glasses. Unlucky for him though was he was getting sick from reading while moving. Nevertheless he persisted and read. Albert was shocked after reading just the first page of function on the switches that resided by the steering wheel. He put the manual back and then just asked since he couldn't believe what he had read.

"What has happened that we haven't been filled in on?"

Albert was worried about the function listed and needed some sort of answers, yet he had a feeling now would not be a good time to bring it up.

"I'll give you guys a rundown later okay. You'll get your answers just not now. For now I'll answer any one question you have about one of the buttons or switches in here."

Upon hearing that Albert conversed with Myrtle as the both leaned over and he filled her in on what he read. She was shocked of course by some of the features, but pushed the shock away for now and decided to help think about what button/switch to inquire about now and then get answers later. Five minutes soon passed and they were nearing the retirement home. They were running out of time so they then asked their question.

"So care to explain why you have a button that store's cond- … "

Albert never got to finish his question as they then arrived at the retirement home. Shane then exited the car getting the door for Albert and Myrtle. They then exited the car and went to the front door of the home before Shane said his goodbyes and headed for his car. He could see their faces with worry so he decided he would answer their last question. As he reached his driver door.

"I use them for water balloons and pouring oil when I don't have a funnel."

His grandparents immediately turned back to look at him, but before they could speak he asked his own question.

"Wait did you guys think I was being unfaithful?!"

Shane asked with concern then a look of disgust on his face. A playful act yet he sold it well. Albert and Myrtle immediately looked at each other sweating bullets before saying goodbye as they rushed inside. All the while Shane smirked to himself.

"Heh well I can't blame them for thinking that, but come on there's more than one use for those things."

Shane then started up his car and left for his hotel. He was looking forward to a good night's sleep after today. Especially since tomorrow he would be making plenty of calls.

Hello everyone. Goemon1086 is back with a new chapter. I hope that the wait was worth it. If it wasn't please let me know. I really packed a lot of info into this chapter due to again not knowing where to stop. That and I really wanted to make it up to you guys for again not being a regular updater. So Here you go. Lincoln AKA Shane has arrived back in royal woods with hopes of reconnecting with his family. The first of which will be Lily due to her being a fan of his pen name. Also I let it slip that Lincoln does in fact have a kid at 19 and is married. I actually am looking forward to writing the chapter when this gets sprung on his family. Also I made Lincoln financially well off due to the hard work from his art pieces and other forms of income since barely anyone who is somewhat famous ever just have their fingers in just one pie. Whether some of you like that or not well I'll have to wait and see.

Now as for his sisters current statuses. They were at first wrecks, but as they say time heals all wounds. Now personally I only partially believe that. Lincoln not be getting off the hook so easily. even he knows that things will be problematic, but you'll have to wait again to see how that goes down.

Well I think that should do it. Remember you guys I enjoy comments/feedback so feel free to leave me some and I'll do my best to respond. Please let me know If I wasn't clear in one area or another. Thanks again for reading and showing interest in my story.

Oh one last tidbit. I will be posting the next chapter of Loud Jormungand as well shortly after this one. like maybe minutes apart.

Thanks again for reading. [:)
