It had been nearly a year since the night of the Nine Tails attack , thousands killed and more injured.

Many had lost their loved ones and homes .

Konoha had grown weaker with the loss of so many of their Ninja forces including their beloved Fourth Hokage .It had been one of the main reason he and many others had been allowed to graduate early at a young age .

Shisui was on his way to the Uchiha training grounds after his training session with his Genin team , he had send a shadow clone home to check upon his sick father.

He was traveling through the trees towards a spot where he liked training when he spotted someone else already there .

By the looks of it the girl who looked to be about six years old was trying to do the Great Fireball Technique.

Since his usual training spot had been hijacked by another , Shisui settled upon the branch of the tree and decided to observe the girl and offer advise if she needed it.

Izumi had been trying to do the Great Fireball Technique for what felt like hours now , she had first spent about half an hour on her Hand seals , trying to make the transition between the seals as smooth as possible before moving on to actually trying do the Jutsu .

She molded her Chakra as she went through the hand seals Snake → Ram → Monkey → Boar → Horse → Tiger , she opened her moth and tried to expel the Jutsu but no flames came out only smoke.

She sighed dejectedly at her failure , she had failed yet again at performing the Jutsu.

She couldn't do anything right .

" Ah don't be so sad Uchiha-Chan " , a cheerful voice called out .

Izumi whirled towards the source of the voice ,and saw a boy who looked to be about 8 years old wearing a dark high collared shirt and light pants with messy black hair and dark eyes . He had a forehead protector secured around his head .

She glared at him when she understood that he had most likely been sitting on that tree for a while and had most likely seen her failure .

" Why were you spying on me "

" Now no need to glare at me like that Uchiha-chan , I didn't mean to spy on you I just came here to train when I saw you here at my usual spot . I saw that you were trying to do a Jutsu and didn't want to break your concentration. " , the boy said trying to justify what he was doing .

Izumi mind went back to her failure , she didn't think she could get the Jutsu right today so she decided to leave .

She walked towards he base of the large tree on which the boy was sitting to take her bag which she had placed there when she started training.

The boy jumped offs the branch and landed beside her , " you're leaving already " , he asked .

She nodded , she had decided to call it a day since it was obvious she wouldn't be able to do the Jutsu properly any time soon and If she left the the other could train as he intended to do in the first place .

" If you want I could help you do the Jutsu " , the boy called out . Izumi stopped turned around towards him in surprise .

" You would help me? ", She asked in surprise , he nodded a cute smile on his face , not that Izumi was gonna tell him that.

" Sure why not , my dad always tells me that we should always help out the members of our clan " , the boy said cheerfully .

Izumi smiled happily as she said , " Okay , So where should we start ".

Shisui was slightly surprised when the girl's demeanor changed suddenly but he snapped out of it quickly as he approached her as he said " So first things first , show me the hand seals "

She nodded once as her hands went through the required Hand seals for the technique Snake → Ram → Monkey → Boar → Horse → Tiger .

Shisui saw no problem with the way in which she did the Hand seals .

" So , now do the hand seals again while kneading your Chakra and then turn it into fire and then expel it from your mouth " , Shisui instructed her and she gave him a look that seemed to say ' just what do you think I've been doing for the past few hours ' , but thankfully did not argue as she did exactly as he said only for the Jutsu to fail again .

The girl let out another sigh full of despair , while he started to think of a reason why the Jutsu might fail .

" Hey Uchiha-Chan have you been practicing the Jutsu for a while now " , he asked , she nodded as she replied " Yes , for the past 2 hours ." .

That must be it then he thought as he said ," Maybe the Jutsu is failing because you don't have enough Chakra since you've been doing this for a while or you just lack the chakra to do it at all . After all this is a C-rank Jutsu " .

" That makes sense . So I need to increase my Chakra levels " , she said , " And Chakra control " , he added .

" So which Chakra control exercises do you know ? " , he asked , since it was highly possible she had yet to join the Academy .

" Just the leaf concentration exercise , didn't know there were other Chakra control exercises " , she said .

He had guessed as much ," Well there are the Tree climbing , and Water walking exercises . Doing Chakra control exercises help us increase both our chakra control and Chakra reserves ."

Shisui nodded , he observed the girl and said , " Perhaps it is better if you return home now and continue your training tomorrow " .

" Why ?" , she asked confused , " You did say that you have been training for a while so it's better if you return home now , you don't want to overexert yourself " , she didn't look happy at all to hear that .

" But I don't anything about those Chakra control exercises and you will probably be busy to help me since you're a genin " , She said confessing her worries .

" Ah no need to be sad since tomorrow is your lucky day Uchiha-chan , " , seeing her confused look , " Tomorrow is my day off " , he added with a wide grin on his face .

Her face lighted up like the full moon on cloudless night as she said " Okay I'll come here around 7 in the morning " .

Shisui nodded in agreement .

As he watched the girl pick up her bag walk away from the training ground he remembered that he didn't know her name nor did she know his .

" Uchiha-chan wait up " , She stopped and turned back and looked at him in confusion.

" It's just that you never told me your name " , he said , " And you never told me yours either " , she shot back with a cute smile on her face .

" Shisui " ,

" Izumi , bye Shisui-kun " , and with that she was gone and Shisui was finally alone to concentrate on his training .
