Sheldon runs away on the train at the end of 7.24, what could have happened next?

18 months later.
Sheldon continued with his routine in Kansas. He would work at the Comic Book store during the day and work on Physics in the evening. Sometimes on Sunday, when the store was closed, he would take a day trip on the train.

With one married couple and one engaged couple in the group Raj and Amy, more by accident than design, found themselves becoming a pseudo-couple. They would occasionally go out on friendly dates together. Penny and Leonard arranged their wedding for 18 months after Sheldon's departure, Raj was to be best man and Amy the maid of honour.
On the big day Howard and Bernadette performed the marriage on the roof of Los Robles. Family members and friends from Caltech came for the wedding, one special guest was Mrs Mary Cooper.
Leonard gave a speech at the wedding party.
"Thank you to one and all, family, friends and fellow scientists for coming today to celebrate our wedding. However, one dear friend of ours isn't here today. Could you all raise a glass in a toast to an absent friend, we miss you Sheldon, wish you were here."

Leonard returned to Caltech after his honeymoon, he saw Leslie Winkle and Barry Kripke talking together.
Leslie "Hello Leonard, thanks again for the wedding invitation, how is married life?"
Leonard "Great fun, have I missed anything since I was away."
Barry "Have you seen this amazing new Physics paper. It is brand new combination of String Theory and Quantum Loop Gravity."
Leonard "Who is it by?"
Leslie "The author is Tucker Lee, nobody has heard of this person before. The only address is a Post Office Box in Kansas..."
