Assault on Antwort
Eve went to Ayanami's office again and he greeted her. "Welcome Eve. I had a matter of greatest importance to you. You are to assist Hyuuga and Konatsu in invading the nation of Antwort. We had suffered some slight...drawbacks as we were forced back by their rather advanced technology."
Ayanami continued. "The previous officer whose named I will not say has been..removed. I will assign you this task to invade Antwort, take possession of Pandora's Box and give it to me. I do not need to stress how important this mission is."
"I am ready sir."
"Good. Now, you will have 500 soldiers for your command and Konatsu, Hyuuga and Shuri to assist you. Seven ships for travel and assault. The generals would prefer that you wouldn't do this Eve but you are under my jurisdiction when I say that you are to ignore any orders given to you by those generals."
"Yes sir."
"A Ribidzile will be awaiting for you. Go Eve and claim forth my prize." Ayanami dismissed her and Eve bowed as she left.
Eve went inside the Ribizile and saw Hyuuga who happily said. "Hey Eve, we are nearing Antwort riiiiiiiiiiight now." He tapped his fingers on the map and saw the structure of the kingdom of Antwort. "You should know that the soldiers have construct an anti-aircraft shield. Our ships won't be able to break through."
"That shield won't stand against a Zaiphon. I doubt that the soldiers had planned for that."
"Really?" Hyuuga asked, eyes wide. "Didn't know you could use a Zaiphon. How about you show it if it works? And when you do, we can handle the rest."
Eve smiled at him. "I'll do this. Stand by and watch."
Eve and Hyuuga walked outside as Eve unsheathed her sword and pointed it at the barrier. In one minute, she charged up a Zaiphon and fired it at the barrier, destroying it completely in one blow.
Hyuuga was stunned but recovered immediately as he said. "Okay Eve, I'm impressed. That was really good work. Now let me return the favor and call in the assault." He put a finger on his earpiece and called out. "We are go for the attack. Send in our men to attack the soldiers of Antwort. The barrier shield is done, we are go for the attack."
He smiled at Eve. "You let us worry about the battle Eve. It's what we, the Black Hawks, do." He walked away to join the battle.
Eve saw the results on the grid...
With their shield destroyed, the Antwort soldiers were demoralized and ill-prepared to face the Barsburg soldiers. Added to the fact that the Black Hawks were using their Warsfeil abilities plummeted their morale to non-existent levels.
They did manage to fight back out of self-defense and killed a good number of Barsburg soldiers however the Barsburg casualties were short compared to the Antwort casualties as the remaining soldiers were forced to fall back.
Eve saw how each Black Hawk does battle. The only person that didn't do much on the battlefield was Shuri as he was too inexperienced in warfare to fight and had to be looked after by Konatsu. Hyuuga however was racking quite a kill count and is charging towards the capital.
Eve studied the statistics: Out of the 500 soldiers lent to her by Ayanami, 49 died. Countless Antwort casualties counted by the thousands. No one among the Black Hawks is injured.
"Hey Eve. We finished fighting the Antwort army here. Head on down and we'll escort you to the capital." Hyuuga called through radio.
Eve left the Ribidzile to join her fellow Black Hawks on Antwort. Both Shuri and Konatsu saluted to her as she touched down. Konatsu reported. "As you may have seen from above, we have made a devastating victory against the Antwort army. Hyuuga is waiting for you at the capital now."
Eve nodded and looked at Shuri and frowned. She said to him. "Is this your first time participating in a war?"
Shuri nodded, head bowed.
Eve sadly shook her head as she scolded. "You didn't do much in the battle but you survived. I will keep your lack of cooperation of this battle from Ayanami but I will not speak for you if he finds out about your poor performance."
Shuri humbly nodded then asked. "You know, I've never heard of you Eve. Not a single one of my family knows who you are despite our connections. How is it that you've gotten used to fighting in wars?"
Eve smiled and shrugged. "Let's just say this isn't the first time I've seen atrocities being committed."
Konatsu inquired. "With your permission Eve, we would like to head back to the Ribidzile to rest."
"Granted." Eve watched them leave to the Ribidzile.
She caught up with Hyuuga as he opened the doors for her to enter. "Madame." He playfully said.
She giggled a bit then found the King of Antwort hiding behind his throne on the throne room and Pandora's Box which looks like a black coffin.
The king left his throne to guard the Box protectively. He spat out to Eve. "So you're the wench that destroyed the shield. Your status has been hidden even from us and now you show up out of nowhere to help these Barsburg dogs."
Eve said nothing which allowed the king to continue snarling. "I think I know who sent you, Ayanami. And like a good little pet, you obey his orders. Oh he must have been so proud to have such a pretty young thing like you working under him. What has he promised you? To be his concubine? A high position in the military?"
Eve made a frown then pulled out a syringe from nowhere as the king ranted. "I take it you want the Pandora's Box? Go ahead, take it! But know this: you cannot open it without the Eye of Mikhail and whatever contents within it are useless to you. So take it and run back to your master oh concubine of Ayanami-ah!" He barely finished speaking when Eve suddenly jammed the pointy tip of the syringe on his neck.
"W-what did you do to me!?" The king demanded while clutching his neck and saw the syringe drop to the ground after its contents are empty.
"A paralytic agent of sorts that removes the part of the brain that can speak. I'm taking you as a prisoner and I don't want to have the guards having to put up with your ranting and raving whilst in chains. But do not worry, I will inform Ayanami about the Eye of Mikhail part you said." Eve replied before kicking him in the face, knocking him out.
Hyuuga chucked. "Damn Eve..I didn't know you can invent poisons."
Eve shrugged. "I can perform a great many talents. I'm not telling you but I'm always glad to show it off. Now have the soldiers drag the king away as our prisoner. Consider him another gift for Ayanami."
Hyuuga smirked. "You got it, Eve." He contacted four soldiers to bring both the Pandora's Box and the king of Antwort.
(Three hours later)
Eve reported to Ayanami in his office and added that the king is officially a prisoner. She excluded Shuri's part in the campaign.
Ayanami mused. "You have done me a great service and one better Eve. Not only have you recovered Pandora's Box, you have captured the king for me. While unnecessary, I will find the time to take out my rather...malicious attitude towards him for calling you a concubine or so you said. He will be humiliated and disgraced and he will wish for death before he dies."
"What of Pandora's Box sir? He said that only the Eye of Mikhail can open it."
"Indeed, he is correct. I have been searching for it for quite some time. It's current host is Teito Klein and he is under the protection of the Barsburg Church which is outside the military's jurisdiction." Ayanami replied to Eve.
"I am familiar with the Church sir. I have been there several times to learn about history, the Seven Ghosts and Zaiphon."
"Again you surprise and impress me Eve." Ayanami praised. "You are truly a breath of fresh air from the usual soldier sent my way. Perhaps your classified file proves to be of us after all. If you've been to the Church, you must have known its levels and structures which I can use to my advantage."
"I remembered seeing Teito Klein within the grounds sir. What are your orders?"
"I will tell you my plan to retrieve the Eye, Eve. I have a special spy within the Church but we will speak of that later." Ayanami ordered. "For now, take your well deserved rest. I have a disposed king to torture..."
Eve bowed and left his office.
Ayanami walked towards the prison cell where the disposed king is staying and so the man's appearance stripped of royalty.
He unleashed his full wrath on the deposed king, completely uncaring about the fact that the king couldn't scream to the poison. He eventually grew bored of unleashing his malicious act or cutting the man's skin with a strong backhand to the face.
Like he said to Eve, this proved to be of great service and one better as he presented his fellow generals the king himself and credited Eve for it. They were a little displeased that Ayanami is going to take the credit for this war and the king being the icing of the cake.
The king of Antwort is now spending the rest of his life in a prison cell, waiting for death to come.
