I don't own Twilight.

Four.

This was an all together different place. We made it to Olympia with good timing. And as much as Edward hated my truck, he had stayed quiet on the drive, something I was grateful for. It had gotten us here just fine.

We were currently standing outside an odd-looking store down by the docks. The Archibald Sisters, the sign above the building read. Most of the places I found consisted of something to do with books, that fact would probably never change.

"I still don't like this," Edward ran a hand through his hair.

"Look, either wait here, which won't be a good idea if the sun comes out, or you come inside with me and look." Here we were, acting like an old married couple.

Well, there was one thing: we both hated shopping.

He took my hand in his. "Alice confirmed to me that the weather wouldn't cause issues."

"You called her?!"

He laughed. "Yes, and just so you know, she's very unhappy right now, she wanted to come too."

"Traitor," I mumbled.

"Well, if it's any consolation, she's not going to show up."

We made our way inside. There were Albert Einstein action figurines, fake mustaches, and little mugs with silly sayings on sides of them.

Edward held one of the figurines. "It makes me wonder if one of us could have a little bobble doll like this. Carlisle would be impressed." He smirked, and put it down.

"Well to start, it's not a doll, it's an action figure. And I don't know that I could see any of you as one of them. Emmett maybe," I mused.

"Emmett would love this place."

As I turned and made my way to the back of the shop, little balls and square shapes caught my attention in fleeting glances. Every now and then, Edward would catch my eye and we would smile at one another before moving on in our searches.

I didn't know what had called me into this place. Prank shops like this weren't really my thing. The more I looked, the more interested I became. There were plastic fish and voodoo dolls; odd candy that came in different forms and uncharted tastes. It was like something out of Harry Potter.

And then, I found myself focused on a shelf in the corner, almost hidden from the rest. There were books – tall and short, fat and skinny, colorful and striped. I was pulled into Heaven.

Great lies to Tell Small Kids, Loads of more lies to Tell Small Kids, What were They Thinking, The Savvy Converts Guide to Choosing a Religion…I snorted at the last one. Maybe Edward should read that one.

Finally, one stacked sideways caught my attention. This Book Will Change Your Life…

I was never really into self help books, but I picked it up anyway, fluttering through the pages with my thumb.

Day 32: Control Your Dreams.

Day 78: How Politically Correct is Your Circle of Friends?

Day 155: Confess to a Priest.

Day 293: Write down your biggest Mistake in Life, or be doomed to repeat it…

It seemed like an afterthought as I took the book and held it against my chest, planning to buy it to take back to Forks. The need wasn't just there, it was compulsive now, as though this would actually be some life changing experience.

Edward was behind me now. He stared down at the book in my hands, a look of wonder in his eyes. I turned and looked up at him, smiling, "I'm going to go pay for this, and then we can go if you want."

He nodded, still curious.

There was a lady with a bright smile and wide, round glasses typing something on the computer. When she looked up, I wasn't a bit surprised at the bug-eyed look she got, looking at Edward.

You and every other person on the planet, honey.

Her typing stopped and she took the book when I handed it to her, scanning the barcode and putting it in a little white bag. "Thanks for coming in," she chirped as we turned and headed out the door. As we made our way, hand in hand, back to my truck, Edward let out a snarl.

My thoughts sifted through the possible scenarios as he glared down the street to the left. When I looked passed him, Jacob Black was waiting there at the sidewalks end.
