Neon Genesis Warframe
ESKK: Well here we go the 4th Chapter it will be a filler so let's begin.
(Start)
*Insert Cruel Angels Thesis
-Zankoku na tenshi no you ni. Shonen yo, shinwa ni nare...-
As the song began a ripple was seen as it began to fade back to the background of the Void. Following it was five circles interlocked into each other each with varying image of a mountain, tree, wave, storm, and crystal. The five circles spread out into five different trees centered by crests associated with these circles. The scene came to an end with what looked like deep water of some unknown source. Just then the music kicked up and with it the title made itself known.
"NEON GENESIS WARFRAME!"
-Aoi kaze ga ima mune no doa wo tataitemo, Watashi dake wo tada mitsumete Hohoenderu Anata-
The scene started with a clear blue sky and Shinji as he seemed to be looking off into the distance as he stood there in his Transference Suit modeled after his Plug suit. AS the image of Shinji began to turn phantom images of Asuka and Rei appeared also in their Transference suits no doubt modeled after their old Plug suits. But floating behind them were the images of Valkyr and Trinity to show who they belong to.
-Sotto Fureru mono Motomeru koto ni muchuu de Unmei sae mada shiranai itaikena hitomi-
The scene then showed the afternoon sky as the red showed that day was making way for night. On it three sets of hands were seen drawing an image in the sand. From a closer look it then showed the phantom image of a cross floating out of a Lotus flower with a twin pronged lance floating over it. Following it was the images of Misato rising up as with the Lotus who was without her helm but was facing away obscuring her true face, and finally the image of Yui Ikari holding the Lotus helmet in her hands.
Following it up was the image of Misato and Yui sitting across from each other as the Lotus floated between them. Behind the three was the image of Shinji as before an image of Rei showed up. As the image of Rei became the focus her form was then replaced by the image of Trinity who looked ready for combat. From there it showed the Transference Pod activating Excalibur beginning to move and finally the Landing Craft coming in to face the enemy.
-Dakedo itsuka kizuku deshou Sono senaka ni wa-
The image then showed Shinji sitting in the Transference Pod with his eyes closed focusing on his Warframe. From there Excalibur then appeared standing tall like a noble hero prepared to go into battle. Once that was done it showed the images of what appeared to be Excalibur Prime standing ominously, Misato in a Tenno faction suit overseeing a mission, the Lotus watching the battle take place, and finally Rei standing next to her Trinity.
-Haruka mirai mezasu tame no Hane ga aru koto...-
The image then showed Excalibur drawing his Exalted Blade and from it wings from the Impact sprouted from Excalibur's back comprised of void energy. The image then flashed to a black Excalibur roaring and from it the theme hit its climax.
-Zankoku na tenshi no te-ze Madobe kara yagate tobitatsu-
The images then began to flash to visions of battle and violence. The verse got high as images flashed of Excalibur fighting through Grineer, Corpus, Infested, and Sentient. It then flashed through images of Mana, Tenshin, Lotus, and the leaders of the Syndicates, and topping off with the image of the Dojo.
-Hotobashiru atsui patosu de Omoide wo uragiru nara-
The scene then showed Trinity raising her head and then flashed to Valkyr activating her Hysterics ability and summoning her claws. Following it up were images of Rei and Asuka before images of what appeared to be look-a-likes of Kensuke, Toji, and Hikari. They were dressed in varying outfits from Cetus and Fortuna. Then an image of Excalibur falling from the sky via his Archwing doing a flip before images of a red earth and a black Excalibur was seen. Following it up was images of a Sentient, an Orokin, and Excalibur Prime. The images then showed the black Excalibur and Excalibur Prime both holding a spear each with two prongs on them.
-Kono zora wo daite kagayaku Shonen yo, shinwa ni nare-
The image finally showed Excalibur spreading his arms out but as he did this Excalibur became Excalibur Umbra and from it Shinji came out via Transference. The event then came to an end with a plaque that was written in the language of the Orokin.
(Start Unknown Location)
Overlooking the North Pole a lone Warframe stood glaring out into the distance despite the cold air blowing against him. As it stood it looked to the sky which seemingly had nothing there. As he stood though a powerful gust of wind came through causing its cloak to blow in the wind causing it to billow ominously before calming down a bit. Once it did massive Tablets stood around it as the Warframe glared at them all. On the tablets was an image of 7 eyes on either side of a snake wrapped around an apple framed in a triangle pointing downward. On the apple were the words SEELE Überm sternenzelt richtet Gott, wie wir gerichtet and to any who came from the old world they would know this was now Orokin it was German. It translated to: Soul God Judges above the firmament as we have judged.
"Truly it is the will of God that such a miracle has been bestowed upon us." Came one of the tablets as the surrounded this unknown Excalibur Warframe.
"The trial of the heavens have begun anew. This is a second chance to evolve pass our limited forms. A chance we must not squander or risk of betrayal." Another spoke as the way they spoke was ominous and worrisome.
"We lost some of our own in this attempt due to treachery and opportunists. Which now brings us to you." The said as the Excalibur Prime stood stalwart almost like a statue. Before him was a blade in a stone similar to the War that was given to the Tenno Hunter known as the Shadow Stalker.
"In the past we had trusted you to carry out our scenario. For a time we considered you our close ally and collaborator and error we shall not make again with you." The said sounding as if they know this Warframe on a personal level. Its body was covered in armor that was a mixture of Sentient bio tech and what looked to be Evangelion based armoring. "Those fools of the Orokin truly had no idea what they had rebuilt for us." The tablet spoke further as all eyes fell to it.
"Yes and in turn the arrogance of the Golden Lords had inevitably became their undoing." Another spoke as it was hard to tell which of them were speaking.
"That armor your form has been equipped with shall prevent you from making any more attempts at your own scenario behind our backs. We see what you see, hear what you hear, and can now restrict your actions." The Tablets said as the Warframe began to move and take the blade from the stone. "Through that blade through that Clarent we command you." They spoke as the Warframe sheathed the sword on his back.
"Your task is simple locate the Golden Lord Known as Ballas through him our desires shall be reborn and completed." The leading Tablet said as it glared upon the Warframe. "Through our joint efforts we shall at last complete Human instrumentality." The Tablet said before the Warframe turned around and took its leave its mission received, its orders clear, but its freedom stripped. "Complete this and you and your beloved shall at last be reunited." The leader said as the Warframe left.
(Scene Break Venus)
Atop a mountain top on Venus a lone Chroma Warframe was seen as next to him a Kubrow slept. As the Warframe stood tall the sound of humming was heard from it. This Warframe was humming a classical song unknown to the Origin System called the Ode to Joy. As he stood there it seemed he was musing to himself at least until another Warframe came walking up behind him.
The Chroma looked and saw a dark pink Khora Warframe sanding there as it looked to the Chroma Warframe. The Chroma stopped and looked to the Garuda all was silent between them until the Chroma spoke. "Well?" Chroma asked as he looked to Khora.
"It showed up just as you and your little book said it would." Khora said in a female voice.
"Upon the frozen land of the world named for the God of the Underworld the Third shall reawaken and shall be challenged by warriors of the past revived by the void." Chroma said before redirecting his attention back to the planet.
"So if everything happens like your little book says will you tell me when and where the next one will show up?" Khora asked and was in turn only met with silence. "Ok whatever." She said before turning around. "I know my role in this, go to Pluto and wait for the Corpus experiments on it to back fire on them." She said as she walked off. "Once it does finish the job." She added while taking her leave.
"Good luck." Chroma said to which Khora scoffed.
"Not like I'll need it." Khora said before taking her leave of him. Once Chroma was alone he looked to the planet and in turn sighed. He then jumped down and went to leave knowing he had to await for the next ones arrival when it eventually arrives. Question was how long he will have to wait.
(Scene Break Strata Relay Earth)
Shinji woke up with a start as he shot up and looked around in a panic. He had that dream again it had been haunting him for some time. A red gash on the moon, a pack of harpies with the torn apart remains of something in their maws, and Asuka in a hospital room. As he woke up he looked around and saw the room was once more the same one he had received since he arrived at the Strata Relay. As he laid down there he gazed at the ceiling and felt his hand flex out of instinct.
Ever since he got here he thought the Angels and EVA were behind him even if he could not remember how they lost in the end. But after the battle of Pluto it seems the past has a nasty habit of following him wherever her goes both the ones he remembered and the ones he could not remember. "Unfamiliar ceiling." Shinji finally spoke as he laid there trying to make sense of what his life had become.
(Later with Misato)
"That just about sums up everything." Misato said as she had spent the entire time with Lotus and Tenshin telling them about NERV and the Angels. She didn't believe they were back at first when Eve told her but after seeing the combat footage the Warframe's helmet retrieved she was a believer.
"Most disturbing." Tenshin said as he sat opposite of the Lotus.
"In more ways than one." Misato admitted to her own faults in all of this how she and everyone else were played by both Gendo and SEELE.
"But the children they don't remember it?" Lotus asked as she looked to Misato.
"From the look of things Shinji and Asuka don't remember but Rei on the other hand if she does remember she either hides it well or it didn't affect her as much as the others." Misato said but after everything it was hard to tell which of the three Rei's they currently had with them.
"At most we have about a month between their attacks to act but beyond that we are grasping at straws." Lotus confessed knowing full well they had to approach this with a sense of tact. "Adding the fact the Sentient have begun manipulating their power for their own gain it's unlikely if we'll be able to accurately detect them without more information." Lotus said as she looked to Misato hoping she would have insight on this.
"Yeah our Magi trio are already creating something saying they have some help from a Sumaris and Suda." Misato said as she honestly did not know who those two were.
"Good despite their differences those two are at their best when unified." Tenshin said and thus came to the major problem.
"Now I need to ask what are, we going to do about our housing situation." Misato asked as she looked to the two.
"You may remain in the Relay with the others Major and the children may remain in their Orbiters for living arrangements." Lotus began but Misato then made an X gesture with her arms.
"Um no look I get I'm basically going to work here but isolating those three is going to cause them a lot of damage mentally." Misato said as she looked to the two. "Isn't there somewhere I don't know a bit homier for them to live in with all things considered?" Misato asked as she looked to the duo who then looked to each other.
It was then Tenshin looked to Misato as he may have the answer to their problem. "Well there is one place but it will require work." Tenshin said and thus Misato was intrigued.
"How much work?" Misato asked as she looked to Tenshin while smirking to him.
(Shinji, rei, and Asuka with Mana)
The trio was given some quick lesson about the new era they were in with what happen after the first angel wars ended, when humanity was reborn from the red ocean as the Orokin, and created the Grineer through cloning technology and become the builders to the Orokin but basically they were mostly slaves to them, with everyone but Rei being disturbed by this, as she was more interested in this subject for some reason that Shinji and Asuka could not figure out why.
The solar system was renamed to Origin System, Due to Orokin send "Sentients" to the Tau System where they were planning on living there once terraforming was done, but then the sentient rebel against the Orokin which lead to the great old war which lead to the creation of Tenno to act as soldiers, guardians, protectors, anything the Orokin needed them to be to fight against the sentient believing they would be protected, but this would lead to their own downfall being taken down from within before they were wipe out.
Afterword's what remains were the Tenno, the Grineer, the Corpus, and the sentient, but these were the big three as there are other factures called Syndicates that rise from and after the war being there were 17 of them total, but not going over their history and just tell the basic information about them to remember if they ever see any of them before Mana said to them, "And that sure wrap up about them, but any question?"
"Ah, yea, are you sure we can trust these Steel Meridian? You said they are Grineer that deserted their own kind," Asuka said as she somewhat bring up a good point as Mana said, "Well when the Steel Meridian were created, they had a genetic flaw that the Grineer didn't discover, which enables them to disobey the Grineer Queens, or the twin queens depends on how you see them as, and thus far gain independent and free will, sure they may have some thrust for fighting or battling, but they are pretty tame compare to their controlled siblings, but still have some attitude problem so I recommend not to get on the Steel meridian bad side intentionally."
"Okay I think we understand," Shinji said with Rei writing down a few notes from this information as she said, "It was… very knowledgeable."
"Well I just told you of what I know, but there are other that know more stuff than me so if you have any other question, better find one of those guys," Mana said as Shinji nodded to this as he said, "Thanks mana."
"No problem, now if you excuse me, I've been using my Warframe a bit longer than I hope for," Mana said as Rei asked, "I thought Tenno can go for years with their Warframe."
"They can, but not everyone does it, for me I usually go for a few weeks to a month depending of what's going on, as last thing I want is to exit the transfer pod and have poor body movement in case something happen to my Warframe or an enemy found their way onto my orbiter. Best to exercise your body once in a while," Mana said as Shinji said to her, "Does that mean we could meet… face to face?"
"Someday… but for now I think it best for you to get use to your new living style, in and out of your Warframes. Take care of Excalibur Shinji, its suits you more than it did me," Mana said before walking away, no doubt to her orbiter as Asuka said, "Great, but now I wonder where we are going to live, to eat… or sleep? Do we even need sleep?"
"It's best we do, as just because our body rest, our mind are still active, and the times after I use trinity to gather up food and supplies when I was on Pluto, I required more rest after hours of use of my Warframe," Rei said as she has gone hours using her Warframe before the others found her, but she has gotten used to it, but still needed to rest, with Shinji said, "Should we ask Lotus about this then?"
"Ask her about what?" Misato spoken up as she came up to them as Rei said to her, "Major Katsuragi."
"Come on Rei, it's just Misato now, with NERV now gone, I don't have any rank, and I don't have any benefit… I don't have any more beers to drink," Misato as she cry to that last part, and what worse, she miss Penpen as well but she wasn't going to say that with Asuka said to her, "Oh get over it, it's about time you not rotting your liver and not being drunk or have a hangover every single morning."
Misato sighed to this as she said, "It usually help me get through the day… I really should ask around if there any stiff drinks or something."
"Ah, Mi-misato," Shinji started saying as Misato turn to Shinji as he went on saying, "I think we have more concerning issue we have, it's about our living situation."
"Oh yea. Where are we going to living at? If it's on those orbit ships then you can forget about those as I rather not have some weird A.I watching me sleep," Asuka said as Misato blink to that as she said, "Oh you don't have to worry about that anytime soon. I talk it over with Lotus and Tenshin, and they said there are places on earth that's not been touch by Grineers, corpus, or any other people we can basically build a house."
"Wait, earth?!" Asuka said with Shinji spoken up saying, "You're saying we going to go back to earth and live there then."
"That's right, all four of us," Misato said as she is including Rei in this as she didn't know what Rei situation was before other than she was living alone in a rundown building as Shinji describe it as.
"The Orbiter is more than acceptable." Rei said but Misato begged to differ.
"Oh no not this time." Misato said grabbing Rei before she could even attempt to sneak away. "No commander this time to say you need to live in a dump." Misato said as Rei was calm and collected by this.
"Very well." Rei said as she accepted this as fact for the time being.
"And think of it this way Shinji, this time you can actually have a regular sized room." Misato said as Asuka then began to innocently whistle to herself still remembering how she moved in before. "But small heads up they told me it's a fixer upper." Misato said and in turn she got everyone's attention.
"A Fixer Upper?" Asuka asked and in turn she felt she was going to regret this real fast. "How is it a Fixer upper?" Asuka asked and in turn she would soon receive her answer.
(Scene Break Earth Deep Woods)
Shinji, Asuka, and Rei had departed from their Landing Crafts with their Warframes in tow as they saw the structure before them. It was clearly supposed to be the foundation but it was hardly much to look at. It was covered in vines and overgrown trees as Asuka then glared at Misato.
"This is a fucking dump." Asuka cried out as when she saw the structure.
"Hey I know it's not much hence why I said it was a fixer upper." Misato said with a smirk on her face.
"Yeah sure and I'm the queen of Siberia." Asuka said as Rei went to look the base over in depth.
"Come on all we got to do is clear this stuff out and start building and then we can." Misato began but Asuka cut her off.
"The damn Orbiter is better than this heal at least there I don't have to worry about whatever is hiding out here crawling all over me!" Asuka argued as this was getting them nowhere fast.
"Look whining and complaining isn't going to get us anywhere so the least we can do is work on this." Misato said but Shinji was oddly quiet as he saw the two go back and forth.
"We don't even have proper protection from the elements with this!" Asuka yelled until they heard a loud hum coming from the structure causing them all to jump in shock.
"Um what was that?" Shinji asked and in turn Misato saw Rei was missing.
"I think that was Rei." Misato said but Asuka wasn't convinced.
"That's impossible she's right... here." Asuka said as she finally took note to the missing Albino. "Ok we need to put bells on her." Asuka said as she quickly realized Rei was one quiet girl.
(Inside the Structure)
The group arrived and saw Rei was tinkering with some sort of machine inside the structure that seemed to show off a general scan of the area. "Rei what did you do?" Shinji asked as he looked to the blue haired girl.
"This structure is similar to the Orokin tower in Cetus Mana spoke off." Rei said as she looked to the group. "It's basically alive and I interfaced with it similar to an EVA." Rei said as she had her hands on the console giving life to this... creature. Just the Rei paused as they all heard the console practically speak to Rei. "She's saying the vines are hurting her and the trees are suffocating her." Rei said surprising the group that the structure had a gender. "She will let you live with her if you can help her with her current set of problems." Rei said and in turn they realized they had another possible roommate.
Misato smirked to Asuka who then grumbled to this before letting it be. "Fine let's get to work." Asuka said and thus looked to Misato.
"Right first the vines then the trees." Misato said as she figured the vines would be the safer thing to start with.
"Yet it will allow her to figure out the estimative distance of the tree removal." Rei said to which Asuka knew this would take them a while to do. "Warframe use is highly suggested for some of these tasks but our current Frames may not be up to the task." Rei said and in turn Misato snapped her fingers remembering something.
"Oh that's right Mana messaged me said she left you three a Second Warframe each in case any of you needed it." Misato said and thus got their attention for this.
"She did what?" Asuka asked with intrigued to this.
(Later Asuka's Orbiter)
Asuka was loaded in the transference Pod and once she activated it she saw herself looking through the eyes of her new Warframe. From the data she had this Warframe was known as Ember apparently Mana sent this to Asuka because she felt it was a perfect fit for the redhead with the hot headed attitude. This Warframe might be just what they needed to get this job down to help their silent friend.
"Flame on." Asuka said snapping her new Warframe's fingers causing a fire to light. Her melee weapon was switched out for the Ripkas so she can saw their way through the stuff hurting this living organic tower. She also had an Ignis weapon equipped for her main arm to burn what she can without wasting her own energy.
(Rei's Orbiter)
Rei was looking upon her newest acquired Warframe named Titania Warframe as she noted the Pixie Warframe was colored to her old EVA's scheme. It didn't take long for her to realize the benefit of this particular Frame in the work they were about to perform. One of its skills would allow Rei to shrink down and enter small cramped spaces to handle a problem.
She had a Machete for melee and was clearly set for this task. Though adding equipment to their own growing arsenal was a key part in any Tenno's journey so they can be ready for any possible combat situation.
(Shinji)
Shinji looked over his second acquired Warframe as Excalibur was moved into storage. From what Shinji understood Atlas was a tank unit and his Earth based abilities is perfect for construction making this Warframe just what they needed. Equipping the Scindo for his melee weapon he knew he was ready to tackle the problems. Knowing he was ready he headed out of his Orbiter to begin working on their new home.
(Outside)
Misato was going over the layout of the area and looking foundation plan of the tower, while laying another piece of paper that was see through to clearly see the plan underneath with some drawing already done for it, as it seem Misato wanted to add more to it, if she were going to be living here with the three teens she want it at least homey for all of them, even some listed ideas for each room.
From the orbiters Shinji, Asuka, and rei exit them with their new Warframe as Misato heard them coming up, she roll up the plans quickly and turn around to see them and said, "Whao, I thought your guys first Warframes were impressive to see."
Looking at Asuka and rei, their female theme Warframes does have some curves on them, that could made any man, with a weird fetish for a robot girls, in the 21 century go nuts while Shinji's Warframe, well she can only describe it as a beast of a machine that almost could match the Eva's themselves, if they were more human size in term considering how tall that Warframe is.
"I say, I am hot," Asuka said while holding up her hand with a small flame in it to show she hot in both sense of look and literally hot as Rei said, "These Warframes should aid us quite well in our task."
"Should we get started?" Shinji said as Misato give a nod as she soon said, "Alright operation clear up is a go! Start the mission!"
Soon enough they were off, with Asuka using her new fire power to burn off the vines while watching how much she burns as last thing anyone want is to burn up the entire area, while using her chainsaw like weapon to cut through the thick stuff.
Rei had adapted to her Warframe well enough she move around cutting up the vines too, while shrinking to get inside the hard to reach area and cut the cluster of vines with her machete weapon which work as its intended.
Shinji… well it didn't take much to figure out what his can do as he cut down the very thick vines that were group together while getting a grip on them to pull them away from the tower.
Soon enough as the trio taken care of the vine it was now time for the trees as Rei talk to her again to get as much info as she could to figure out how much trees to cut down around the place, while also removing everything else too as rei heard what she said and reply the message to the rest of the group.
Pretty much Asuka was chain sawing the trees while Shinji chop them down with Rei providing as much help she can with what she has in term of her weapon and Warframe ability, while help setting aside as much salvage wood as they could to for any use.
Soon after that it was digging up the stumps, roots, and boulders that were in the ground, as Shinji did most of the heavy lifting himself while Asuka and rei could only break up boulders that were the size of a small hill that would be too much to lift on their own or together if they tried.
While they were doing all the work, Misato was going over the plan with each cephalon in the orbiters to make sure that the plan were well made, with look, being practical including other detail that the tower didn't have before in term of defensive strategy.
(Scene break)
After hours of hard work and no breaks, as it seem they work from day to night, and to the next morning with Shinji, Asuka, and rei were getting used to working within the Warframes for long term periods, bit it seem they were… mentally exhausted, by the look of ember and atlas Warframe were slumping over a bit as Asuka said, "That's it… it's all done and nothing else."
"Well that was just the first step, we still have the look on the inside tower for any needed repairs and find any useful equipment that still function or in need of repair as well," Rei said as Asuka soon drop to her knees and said, "AHHH! Really! That could take hours, and I am already going nut doing all of lumbering!"
"We could take a break I mean, Misato didn't say that we couldn't," Shinji said as Misato came up to them looking refresh as she gotten a good rest as she said, "Morning everyone. Wow you guys did a good job cleaning up the area."
"Yeah great can we take the day off?" Asuka said and thus Misato sighed to this.
"Sorry no can do we still have work to do to make sure this place is hospitable." Misato said and in turn the group understood. "Rei you said this thing can be interfaced like an EVA right?" Misato asked as she got down to business.
"Yes." Rei confirmed as she looked to the Former Major.
"Well is there anything we need to know before we start working?" Misato asked and thus Rei got the memo.
"I will ask her." Rei said knowing that despite the fact they were aiding her Rei wanted for both parties to have a symbiotic relationship with each other.
"Wait if we can synch with it doesn't that imply it's basically an Evangelion?" Asuka asked but Misato looked.
"I don't know this was more Ritsuko thing." Misato said as science wasn't exactly her strong suit.
(Later inside the Structure)
As the group entered the old Orokin Structure Rei was outside her Warframe and once more interfacing with the creature as she held her hands on its console. Once she began to synchronize with it she in turn felt the warmth from it after they had aided it. "Before we start she's thankful to you all for removing the trees and vines from her form... she didn't like how they felt on her." Rei said as she looked to the group.
"No problem." Asuka said as she couldn't believe the damn building was alive.
"She needs time to heal and readjust to being free again so at the moment she can't shed her skin to provide us with any meals." Rei added and thus they were all wide eyed.
"Wait what?" Misato asked when she heard this.
"Yes in Cetus the Orokin Tower sheds off its skin to provide both food and housing for the people of Cetus. In return they keep her healthy as best they can." Rei said and in turn they quickly realized they may be forming a similar relationship with this creature. "She's also seen your plans for housing and had actually developed alternative plans for it." Rei added and in turn gestured to the table in the center of the room. In turn the images of Misato's original blueprints appeared and in turn were being modified by factoring in the surrounding land scape and showing areas to dig. The general housing was circular in origin but it formed into a half circle with a backyard area off the back side. IT then had bridges of wood extended for what looked to be crop fields as well as other things. The Back area was split by three areas one for her shedding's to be handled, one for what seemed to be crops so the group can survive, and finally an area for generally anything.
"She had factored in our needs and using the wood as a base board for our housing we can later apply her skin shedding's as walls once she's fully recovered from her long ordeal." Rei explained as she looked to them. "The roof is designed so her shed skin will slide to the back area to be properly cleaned and prepared for later use while the meat on them would be used as our proteins with the crops providing general greens." Rei said as she looked to the group. "The Atlas Warframe can handle the general digging and our Landing Crafts do most of the general heavy lifting for this task." Rei said to which they all looked to the plans of their home. "If we start now we should be able to finish the sitting room at best." Rei said ad in turn this meant more hard work.
"Um what?" Asuka asked still stuck that the people of Cetus eat their protectors own shed meat... yeah Asuka might just go vegan for that.
"We best begin now less we lose valuable time." Rei said and in turn they all knew what needed to be done.
"Well come on let's get hopping." Misato said and in turn the tasks they would need would begin.
(Later with Asuka)
Asuka back to using Valkyr was gathering the needed items for what they would need. Mainly wood that wasn't rotten or dead to get the walls made. As she walked about grabbing the needed tools while complaining a bit. She was also tasked to set up a relay perimeter to keep out any intruders or be aware of any attempts on their new home. Seeing as Rei was the only one who can interfaces with the structure she had to stay behind with Misato.
"Jeez stupid wonder girl gets all the gifts and here I am out here doing grunt work." Asuka complained as she stabbed another perimeter relay into the ground before moving on. As she walked she then jumped when she heard a wild roar from nearby opting her to look to the source. The large beast before her roared at her as Asuka glared back at it and then chuckled noting it sort of looked like a bear.
"Hey you scared me there big guy." Asuka said as since her body was in her Orbiter and her Warframe was her Valkyr... yeah she wasn't scared. "Look at you, your kind of cute." Asuka said and in turn the creature roared at her in challenge making her jump a bit. In response Asuka used her Warframe's skill War Cry and roared out causing the creature to turn tail and leave. "Yeah that's right bobo keep walking!" Asuka taunted as the bear like creature ran away from her. "Feh filthy animal." Asuka said and in turn went back to her task at hand.
(Meanwhile with Shinji)
Using Atlas Shinji's job was to dig all the holes for the foundations. Since the Warframe utilized Earth Elements it was a simple matter to do so. As Shinji dug though he soon noticed something off for some reason and dug deeper. As Shinji dug he soon saw water start to come out from the ground with steam coming from it. "Hello." Shinji said as he looked to his discovery.
"Uh Rei... Misato!" Shinji called out as he looked to the main structure.
(Later)
The girls were gathered around the hole Shinji was digging that was now filled with hot water. "Did this idiot find a natural hot spring?!" Asuka cried out in both shock and partial joy at this discovery. "Or wait is it that things piss?" Asuka asked only for Rei to look at it.
"It's a natural hot spring that had no doubt been forming underground." Rei said as she looked to the scene before her. "Some modifications will need to be made but perhaps we may have our own private hot spring." Rei added and in turn Asuka heard this and in turn pictured the relaxation she would have with this. "Major Katsuragi you may be needed to set up this hot spring properly." Rei said and in turn Misato smirked.
"Well how about mixed bathing not much since its only Shin-Chan here." Misato teased elbowing Atlas causing Shinji to blush on his end from the mental images coming his way and thus deactivate the Warframe to regain himself.
"Wow... you scared him off." Asuka said as she noted Atlas was now as still as a statue now.
"When he returns I should have a rough estimate of how large the pool may be." Rei said and in turn returned to the structure to continue their work.
(Later with Misato)
"Ok careful. Be careful." Misato said into a communicator as above them one of the Landing Crafts had ropes tied to it as it helped lift some of the beams into place. As this happened Shinji was still using Atlas to help with the heavy lifting.
"Perhaps you should have invested in Specters to help with your needs." Casper said as she was the Cephalon made to help right now.
"To expensive and they suck up resources like no one's business." Asuka cut in from her spot of getting the beams in place knowing full well those things shouldn't be relied upon to often. They were making great time as their Warframes were a big help in all of this after Rei had gotten the needed data she had Shinji dig the hole so to make it larger for them. Once that was done Misato started working on setting up the stones and the like to make it more like a hot spring from home. It still needed work but it was more or less ready to be used as long as it's by genders alone. The wall and divider were still needed but Rei felt the divider would use up resources they needed to save on so either they learned to share it or not use it at all.
Misato of course began to scheme on this to deal with her two wards and the tension they had since they first met. Misato knew that both sides had done... questionable things to each other. But she also knew that everything they endured didn't help them in any way or form. So it made sense that Misato wanted to set it right for them before the memories returned if they ever return. Regardless she agreed with Rei on this and even added that it wouldn't be the first time she'd seen Misato naked.
Hearing this Asuka demanded explanation at the time and after finding out Misato ended up naked when she woke up she was grateful for the plug suits. Any who as they continued their work they soon got the beams up and in turn started setting them up. Thankfully Misato knew how to work with wood though not at the level Kensuke was known for as a Military Otaku.
They continued their work until in the end the target of their current objective was completed as they in turn proceeded to secure and ensure it didn't fall over or worse. "Hah got the bitch!" Asuka boasted as the two Warframes came down no doubt their Tenno patting themselves on the back for a job well done.
"The task is far from completed but we have made excellent progressed in this regard." Rei said as she looked to the building that was surrounding the tower as they built it. "I have been keeping close tabs on her wellbeing and so far we have not caused any harm to her then what nature had already done before." Rei said as Misato looked to the Albino Girl. "She is... Happy." Rei said and thus Misato understood why the structure was happy. "We may need to bring in professional technicians if we wish to install landing pads for our Landing Crafts." Rei added as she looked to Misato.
"Understandable I doubt any of us could understand this stuff." Misato said and they were in agreement on this... until Asuka began to hear something in the back. "Huh?" Misato asked when she heard this.
(In the back)
The group of four arrived and in turn saw what looked like... Penpen? "Penpen!?" Misato asked as she then burst at the wandering fowl and hugged the life out of it. Of course the creature began to struggle as Misato was cuddling it. "Penpen! I can't believe your here?!" Misato cried out but Penpen was struggling to get out of Misato's grip. In fact Misato didn't even realize the Penguin didn't recognize her until after he pecked her. With a yelp of pain Misato was forced to release the fowl as it then waddled off.
It wasn't until they looked to the natural hot spring did they realize why Penpen didn't recognize her... it was because it was not Penpen but most likely his descendant. "Holy." Asuka gasped as approaching the pool was a whole flock of Penpen's ranging from different sizes and body mass.
"It seems Penpen had managed to pass on his genome and created an entire species of Warm Water Penguins." Rei said as she observed the flock of Penpen's at their hot spring.
"So those things are all..." Misato began and in turn Shinji nodded.
"Yes... Penpen's hundred times great grand kids." Shinji said as the Warm Water Penguins flocked torts the hot springs.
"Hey beat it!" Asuka called out as she began to chase them away from the Hot Spring. "That's my hot spring you puffins!" Asuka yelled and in response the Penguins began to run off from Asuka. Of course when Asuka walked away they approached the pool again causing Asuka to try chasing them off once more. It then devolved to a cycle of Asuka chasing them off and them coming back when they thought she was gone.
All the while Shinji, Rei, and Misato just stood and watch as the Germen tried to hoard the Hot Spring. "Should we?" Shinji began but Misato turned her head.
"Nah let her burn herself out." Misato responded as she looked to scene she was finding funny and nostalgic. Penpen would no doubt be proud of his descendants for the misery they were causing Asuka right now.
(Scene Break several days later)
The group continued their work as they hammered and toiled away at their task. Clearly working hard through the next several days with Rei providing detailed instructions and Misato relegating the tasks to those who can perform it without fail. Misato of course had made a list of things they will need that wasn't available at the moment even after the trio had their foundries create the needed tools to maintain this place. Thankfully the Corpus had robot vacuums that did the vacuuming for them so that was some money well spent. Within a day and a half the main room was finished and following it was the rest of the home as it had taken several days. Atlas and his power over earth proven to be a perfect fit in the work of setting up fields to grow and harvest crops. Furthermore each of the pilots had a small say when it came to customization of their individual rooms.
The rooms were ideal for each of them as even Rei got a small say in what she wanted. Though the girl did enjoy being in water a lot Asuka had commented that Rei may actually be part fish somehow. Rei then responded if that meant she was basically a mermaid a mythological creature known for its beauty as well as being part human and part marine life... Asuka was livid that Rei deconstructed her insult so casually that she left it be.
Still it took them several weeks and that wasn't including plumbing but their home was finished. It now had a field that was ready to be used for crops, a path leading to their fenced up Hot Springs (With Misato sneaking in a small flap to let the Penpen tribe in), an area set up to catch the falling shedding's of the structure, and what was great about it was the insolation to help keep them warm or cool during the change in seasons and weathers.
For them it was homey and right now they put off on building a spot to park their Landing Crafts so to not ruin it. IT had imagery similar to that of a traditional Japanese structure which was much of Tenno culture seemed to be modeled after. It even had a small area in the front for a garden once they decide what kind of garden to use. It had taken them several days to finish it but it was done as Misato looked to it wiping the sweat from her brow.
"Well it's done." Misato nearly boasted when she saw this.
"Why are you sighing we did all of the heavy lifting." Asuka scowled as she glared at Misato.
"But the strenuous tasks we performed would have been detrimental to Major Katsuragi's body and our Warframes did not need to worry for that." Rei explained as she looked to Asuka.
"Shut up Wonder girl." Asuka said as she glared at Rei.
"Well no use complaining now we might as well go inside and explore a bit." Shinji said but Misato smirked to this.
"Why act like you don't live here, we all built it so that means it's our home now." Misato said as she walked to the door and after sliding it open she smiled to the trio. "And after everything home sounds kind of nice, don't you think?" Misato said as she looked to the group smiling in nostalgia remembering the good times before it all went to shit with NERV and SEELE.
"Then… guess we're home," Shinji said and getting a familiar Nostalgia as he walk through the doors with Rei and Asuka following after him before the door shuts behind them.
(Inside)
With the 3 teens and adult walk inside their new home, Shinji was surprise that Misato had the living room set up like her original apartment had looked before, with a few detail of the sitting area, the kitchen, and being the place was bigger than the apartment that she, Shinji, and Asuka had all lived in together, it was roomy, not at all cramped like the apartment was and it cleaner too.
"It's not all done but I got the basic, of a living room, kitchen stack with cooking ware, and most of all each and every one of you have their own rooms to sleep in, and took a bit of customizing them too," Misato said as they all saw what she had done and so far, not bad, but no doubt she didn't get everything in being gas cover or stove top as it was a wooden stove with Misato went on saying, "Once we get the proper stuff and the right help I'm sure we can be living in luxury, but for now things has to be old fashion, so Shinji do you mind stocking up the food we brought, while get the fire burning, and dinner cooking, and Asuka and Rei gather up some food around the area as well please, I'm going to freshen up."
Shinji and Asuka sweat drop to this as it seem they were right back when they were before, with their a lazy guardian doing her own thing leaving them to do the chores as Asuka take a huge sigh to this as she can believe they would fall back in this habit as she said, "Is she Fucking Kidding!?"
(Later)
Shinji unloaded as much as he could from the orbiters, while leaving some supplies on board the orbiters, and shock the pantry, draws, and cabinets with all the preserved food was getting the fire started in the stove burning hot before shutting the lid to it shut as he said, "That should do it."
At that moment Asuka and Rei came in with the food they had gathered as it seem to be a mix of wild vegetables, some fruit, mushrooms, and some animals to be a mix of rabbits, squirrels, fish, a duck with them having bullet holes in them as Shinji asked, "Ah how did it go?"
"We gather of what we could find around, the area, so far this is what I could find that wasn't poisonous, and edible, and" rei said as Shinji was surprise and impressed by this as he said, "How did you figure that out?"
"We have communication devices connection to the orbiters getting in touch with Melchior to help examine the wild growth," Rei explain while she look over to Asuka who was holding the livestock as she said, "Soryu hunted down the wild life, or she attempted before resorting to her fire arms."
"Well you try hunting things down with what we have, not like we have proper hunting gear, animal traps, or even fishing poles!" Asuka said as it seem she had a bit trouble finding wild life, and no doubt could have brought in more if they weren't all scared off by the sounds of her shooting her guns off.
"Well at least this could cover us for a few days, too bad we don't have any rice yet," Shinji said as some of the animals Asuka had gather had some tasty meat on them that could go well on rice.
"It should suffice until the structure can present us with proteins to consume." Rei said as she was the only one really suffering from their lack of greens or rice.
"Yeah once we have an actual farm going we can have all the greens you can muster." Misato joked as she sat at the table area.
"On the subject of hunting supplies and crops we would have to go to Cetus for such things." Rei said knowing Cetus was about a day or so walk from here.
"Great more walking." Asuka said but in turn Misato sighed.
"Well not much of a house warming but at least it's something." Misato said as Shinji had already taken the food since he was the only one who could actually cook among them.
"Well then since we're going to be stuck here for the long run I'm going to take a bath." Asuka said as she has had a long several days and she was dying for a nice bath.
"We lack any of the commodities of our era so we shall have to make do with what we have." Rei said and thus Asuka glared at Rei before heading off.
(Later with Asuka)
Asuka was all set for her bath as she could smell the food Shinji was cooking at the moment. As Asuka sighed to herself a bit she began to strip out of her clothing. She was grateful that these Transference suits were much more durable then her old Plug Suits and from the looks of it they did not require A10 Connector Clips. It was due to the fact hers were missing that Asuka had opted to use ribbons to keep her normal hair style. As she sighed she knew she had to update her outfit because she had no intention of wearing the same thing every day.
She in turn turned torts the door to the ladies half of the springs and thus went on through. What Asuka was met with was the PenPen flock flapping about and going off on her. This caused a scream from the Germen EVA pilot turned Tenno.
(In the main room)
Asuka ran in as bare as the day she was born as she looked to Misato in shock. "Who let the Pen-Pen's in!?" Asuka yelled as she tried to figure out who the culprit was. They weren't their Penpen they were wild animals so letting them enter their hot-springs was a big no for her.
"Oh come on Asuka they aren't hurting anyone." Misato said as she was looking to the now nude girl. "Besides they want a bit of our hot springs the least we can do is obliged them." Misato said not at all bothered about seeing Asuka naked. After all it wasn't like Asuka had anything she didn't have.
"She's not wrong and who knows we might find a second Penpen among them." Shinji said turning from what he was doing for a meal before going wide eyed at what he saw. When Asuka noted this she looked down and went wide eyed to this and thus remembered she was naked.
Acting on pure instinct Asuka proceeded to kick Shinji in the face while covering her breasts and crotch causing him to fall over from the event. "You degenerate pervert how dare you spy on me!" Asuka yelled as Rei was clearly on point when commenting how Asuka and Valkyr were similar in their temperaments.
Speaking of Rei it was her who stepped in. "Tenno Soryu I hardly consider Shinji being here when you ran in naked spying on you." Rei stepped in stopping Asuka.
"What!?" She yelled and thus Rei began to speak.
"From my observations the Pen-Pen flock surprised you and in turn you ran into the room forgetting of your state of dress." Rei said as she then went over Shinji's part in this. "Ikari-kun was simply cooking when you had ran into the room in a panic and him seeing your state of undress was a given." Rei said as she looked to Asuka deconstructing her argument of Shinji being a pervert when it was Asuka who ran in like she was streaking. "If one were to argue it would seem you are the pervert Tenno Soryu." Rei said and thus Asuka had enough.
"Well... I... you... shut up!" Asuka yelled and thus went back to the hot springs to chase off the Pen-Pens.
"Well that was fun." Misato said after Asuka left enjoying the show like it was a sitcom.
(Scene Break that Night)
Shinji was alone in his new room as he laid on his side. As he laid there he was trying to remember what lead up to Third Impact and the rise of the Orokin Empire. He knew he was there but he just couldn't remember what it was. If Rei knew she didn't show and Asuka clearly didn't know by her own volitions. As Shinji laid there he soon heard the door open and thus pretended to be asleep.
"Shinji you awake?" Misato asked as Shinji heard her but remained quiet. "I know this is a tough adjustment for all of us... but at least we're together here right." Misato said but got no response from Shinji before sighing. "Look I know you're awake so I want you to know... you're not alone ok, we're all here if you need to talk even Asuka despite her attitude." Misato said and thus Shinji heard how gentle and calm Misato was being about this. She was willing to listen if Shinji gave her a chance on this.
Once Misato was done she left the room and left Shinji by his lonesome. Speaking of Asuka Shinji's mind began to wonder over some of his dreams of Asuka, a hospital room, and some incident. He couldn't recall it but he felt he had done something horrible there he just couldn't remember for the life of him. Maybe an hour or so had passed as Shinji began to drift he soon heard the door open once more and this time it Asuka.
"Hey idiot you up?" Asuka asked as she walked in looking at Shinji.
"Huh?" Shinji asked as he looked to Asuka confusing Shinji.
Asuka was here to discuss what happened earlier as she wanted to tear Shinji knew one but she knew that would be counterproductive. As she stood there she knew she had to approach this carefully and make sure the Third didn't go blabbing about it later. "Good now then after earlier since what had happened was an accident I figured we need to make it square." Asuka said as she was dressed in what appeared to be a night gown. As she looked to Shinji she then went at it. "So since you saw me like that I figured the only way we can be square is for me to see you like that." Asuka said while blushing beet red to this.
"W-what?!" Shinji nearly yelled when Asuka asked that.
"Shut it!" Asuka yelled in a hushed whisper. "I'm not proud of it so strip let me get an eye full and we'll never speak of this again." Asuka said and thus Shinji had to stand his ground on this.
"No." Shinji defended as he knew this was not like Asuka.
"What did you say?!" Asuka asked as she gave Shinji an intense look.
"I said no." Shinji said as Asuka was surprised by this. "Look Asuka we're all under a lot of stress ok and right now I just have to many questions I have memories missing like you and its bothering me to no end!" Shinji said as it was clear those missing memories were bothering him more than Asuka's previous nudity was.
"And you think they don't bother me?!" Asuka nearly accused as she looked to Shinji that he even accused her of that.
"Of course not but it's like something is actively blocking them all I can gather or just brief flashes and that's it." Shinji defended as whatever caused this may be linked to their newly acquired Tenno abilities.
"Thinking about them isn't going to solve anything and maybe they were lost for a reason we can't worry about them now not with every baddie in this screwed up era wanting to kill us for one reason or another." Asuka said referring to the Grineer and Corpus factions in the Origin System.
"I know but." Shinji said as he then went to it. "I just felt like I did something horrible and that feeling of disgust is stemming from those memories." Shinji said and thus Asuka heard this and sighed before sitting down on Shinji's futon.
"Yeah I see what you mean." Asuka said as some feelings are connected to loss memories and would make anyone want answers over them. "At least you don't remember all of the painful..." Asuka trailed off and thus finally noticed one key thing about her memories. There was an important piece missing something from way back when she was a young child. She didn't know what it was all she knew that it was something painful. "I think I see what you mean." Asuka said as she realized she had memories missing that she wanted answers to.
"We only have each other don't we." Shinji said realizing that besides himself and Asuka, Misato, and Rei were the last of their world.
"Seems that way." Asuka said as she in turn laid down next to Shinji surprising the introvert. "But the Angels are here to and we still have to protect the world from them... or the Solar System in this case." Asuka said as she laid there causing Shinji to join here but the two faced away from each other.
"But even if we beat the Angels what about the Sentient?" Shinji asked worried over the possibility of facing the Sentient.
"We gather as much power and weapons as we can and take the fight to them." Asuka said as if it's the most obvious answer in the Galaxy. But even Shinji had to confess she might be onto something. The Sentient will no doubt keep returning until all remnants of the Orokin have been eliminated and that included the Tenno. Due to the Angels and the Void the former EVA Pilots were now a part of this war as much as any of the other Tenno in the galaxy. "Let's just try our best ok." Asuka said knowing that right now it's all they can do at this point.
"Ok." Shinji said accepting this plan for the time being. As the two fell asleep their dreams seemed oddly peaceful as the two slept next to each other. But despite this for them all was right with the world and hopefully tomorrow will bring to them new adventures. In the nearby Storage Room Excalibur and Valkyr were on standby but for some odd reason their hands reached out to each other with only their pinky fingers touching.
(Scene Break Unknown Excalibur Prime)
The lone Warframe continued its search as it stood atop a ledge glaring out for its target. It knew from prior information that Ballas was on either Earth or Lua now the question was where between those two locations was Ballas located at? SEELE wanted the man so he may be of use to uniting the powers of EVA with the power of the Warframe for the Human Instrumentality Project. As the Warframe continued to look it paused and reached for the armor it was forced to wear. When its hand grabbed and then pulled the armor reacted and shocked the Warframe causing a howl of pain to erupt from it before it fell to its knees.
SEELE had truly thought of everything as this Warframe saw it was in a fate worse than death at the moment. It was also a taste of cruel irony if one were to consider its origins before becoming this. Regardless the Excalibur Prime once it regained itself continued its search for the creator of the Warframe's the one named Ballas. The question was how long its search will take before it was finally freed of its shackles.
