(A/N: Okay, so in this chapter, Mario and Peach leave on their honeymoon. Where are they spending it? I'll tell you... that you're going to have to read this chapter if you wanna find out!)

The sun was rising in the Mushroom Kingdom, and it looked like it was gonna be another beautiful day.

Princess Peach awoke to sunlight streaming through her window, and she smiled as she realized that it was going to be a good day. Then that should mean she and Mario would be able to get to their honeymoon destination with no problems.

She looked at Mario, who lay beside her, still asleep in her arms. Peach couldn't believe that she and Mario were finally married. Last night, they went straight to sleep, holding each other close, not wanting to let go.

Although Peach enjoyed being in Mario's arms, she knew that sooner or later, they were going to have to get out of bed, 'cause if they didn't, they'd miss their flight to where they were going to spend their honeymoon. So the princess reluctantly let go of Mario, carefully disentangled herself from his embrace, and decided to try and wake him up.

"Mario, time to get up..." Peach said, shaking Mario gently.

"But Mama, there's no school today. Let me sleep in..." Mario mumbled in his sleep.

Peach giggled a little and asked, "Did Mama ever wake you up like... this?" And with that, she pulled Mario close and kissed him on the lips.

That woke Mario up!

"Oh! Peach! I thought you were... somebody else..." Mario said, blushing as he realized that the person trying to wake him up was not his mother, but his new wife.

"It's okay, Mario. You were probably dreaming." Peach replied.

"So, today we leave on our honeymoon?" Mario asked.

"That's right. Let's have some breakfast before we go." Peach said.

"Okie-dokie." said Mario.

So they went downstairs, and Peach fixed some chocolate chip pancakes for both of them.

"I was hoping you'd make this!" Mario said when she handed him his plate.

"Guess I read your mind." Peach said.

After they ate, Toadsworth came downstairs and said, "I'll wash the dishes. You two have to get going."

"That's right. Come on, Mario. Let's go get our suitcases." Peach said.

"Oh yeah, I brought mine here the night before our wedding." Mario remembered.

And so they got their suitcases in the car and drove to the airport, so they could get on Peach's airplane, which would take them to Isle Delfino.

"Wait a minute! What did Amanda just say?!" Mario asked Peach.

"Could you repeat that?" Peach asked me.

"I said, you guys are spending your honeymoon on Isle Delfino." I said, appearing in the backseat of the car.

"No!" Mario cried.

"Yes!" I replied.

"But... why?" Mario asked. He sounded like he didn't want to go, not after what happened last time they went there.

"Aw, Mario, I don't like upsetting you any more than Luigi or Peach do, but I promise that nothing bad will happen this time." I said.

"How do you know?" Mario asked.

"You know why." I answered.

"Oh, that's right. You're the author, so you know everything..." Mario said.

"Amanda, are you absolutely sure that nothing bad will happen when we get there?" Peach asked.

"Positive." I replied.

"If so much as one thing goes wrong..." Mario started.

"Nothing will go wrong. I made sure of that." I promised him before disappearing.

By that time, Mario and Peach arrived at the airport, and they made it in time for their flight to Isle Delfino.

"Here we go..." Mario said when they got seated on the plane. He was not looking forward to this at all.

"Mario, I know you're upset, but I think this will be good for us." Peach said.

"Good for us?! Do you remember what happened last time we went there? I got treated like a criminal, and Bowser's son got off scot-free! No one but you ever found out that he framed me!" Mario said, sounding upset. Apparently, he was having flashbacks of the worst parts of that vacation.

"Yes, I know that. But do you remember what Tiara and I did after Bowser was defeated?" Peach asked him, referring to what happens after you win "Super Mario Odyssey".

"You went back to those kingdoms Bowser went through. And I went through them, too." Mario remembered.

"Do you know why Tiara and I went back?" Peach asked.

"You wanted to go without Bowser?" Mario guessed.

"And we wanted to try and give ourselves good memories to replace the bad ones." Peach said.

Mario thought about that.

"Is this why we're going to Isle Delfino?" he asked.

"You could say that." Peach said.

"It was mostly my idea." I put in, appearing beside them as a flight attendant.

"I might have guessed." Mario sighed.

"You kids are gonna be fine. It'll be just the two of you, and I already said that nothing bad will happen to either of you. Add to that the fact that this time, you're married." I said, before disappearing again.

A few minutes later, the plane took off, and they made their way to Isle Delfino.

Before they got there, they saw the promotional video for Isle Delfino just like the last time. Except there was a difference to it. Much to Peach's relief, she did not see a shadowy figure of Mario running and jumping around in the background this time.

"Either they edited him out, or they redid the video." Peach said to herself. But that was the first sign she received that things would be different.

"What, Peach?" Mario asked, having heard her.

"You saw the video, right?" Peach asked, noticing that Mario didn't get interested in the seafood like he did the last time he watched the video. Apparently, the idea of going there still upset him.

"Yes. Why?" he asked.

"Last time, I saw a shadowy figure that looked like you in the background. This time, he wasn't there." Peach said.

"They must not have noticed him the first time." Mario said.

"But that right there looks to me like a sign that we're gonna be okay." Peach told him.

"We'll see." Mario said, still not convinced.

Minutes later, they touched down on the airstrip, and the plane did not make an abrupt stop like it did the last time.

"That's different." Peach noted.

"Yeah, the plane came to a very abrupt stop when we first came here." Mario remembered.

Sure enough, they didn't see any icky, paint-like goop all over the place like they did last time.

"Okay, so far, so good." Mario said, starting to believe that everything was going to be different.

After claiming their baggage, they made their way to Delfino Plaza.

They looked around, and it was sun-drenched, just like Isle Delfino was supposed to be.

"This is what we were supposed to see when we got here." Peach said.

"And there's no goop anywhere. Maybe things will be better." Mario said.

All of a sudden, he heard a voice say, "Oh, there he is!"

"What the-?!" Mario asked, turning in the direction the voice came from. His face went pale when he saw the owner of that voice. It belonged to one of the cops who arrested him shortly after he arrived the first time. And they found him!

"Oh no!" Mario exclaimed.

"What's going on?" Peach asked.

"It's the cops!" Mario exclaimed, getting behind Peach for safety.

(A/N: Can you blame him? Last time the cops showed up, they arrested him and hauled him off to court, and he was found guilty in a stupid, fake trial.)

"Please don't arrest Mario! He didn't do anything wrong! What happened last time wasn't his fault! And if anything bad happened before we got here, it still isn't his fault!" Peach told the cops as they approached.

"It's okay. He's not under arrest." the cops assured Peach, before saying to her and Mario, "There's something important you both need to know."

"What do we need to know?" Mario asked warily, peeking out from behind his wife.

"We found out who the real culprit was, thanks to an unknown source bringing him here. We gave him a lie-detector test, and it determined that he's nothing more than a lying liar who lies. Boy, did he get in trouble." said the first cop.

"Yeah. He's serving his sentence right now. And we owe you an apology." the second cop said.

Mario almost said, "You're darn right, you do!" But he didn't. Instead, he replied, "You do?"

"Plus, some other people here told us that some of the problems on the island were no one's fault, and it was wrong of everyone to blame you for everything." the first cop said.

"And the judge and prosecutor want to apologize as well. Oh, and your criminal record is non-existent as of today." added the second cop.

"That's good news." said Peach.

"It is." Mario said. He was starting to feel like a huge weight had been lifted off of his shoulders.

So Mario was taken to the court, where the judge and prosecutor apologized to him profusely for the unfair way they treated him at that trial. They also apologized to Peach for not letting her explain why she objected to Mario being guilty.

The cops had already apologized to Mario during the walk to the courthouse, and those who blamed Mario all learned the truth, and they felt bad for blaming him. They apologized, too.

At one point, as the cops led Mario and Peach around Delfino Plaza, they saw Bowser Jr. at the Shine Gate. He was polishing it, all the while grumbling about how unfair it was that someone told on him and got him in trouble. He didn't seem to notice Mario and Peach, though, which was just as well, 'cause they didn't want him to see them. There were also a few Piantas hanging around the Shine Gate, watching him.

"What have we here?" Mario asked, impressed with what he was seeing.

"You see that kid polishing the Shine Gate? He was the real culprit." the first cop said.

"We know." Mario and Peach replied.

"How do you know?" the second cop asked.

"He revealed himself at Pinna Park after I defeated his gigantic robot thingy." Mario explained.

"And when he revealed himself, he told us his plans and that he was responsible for all the things you blamed Mario for." Peach added.

"Okay. Anyways, the culprit was forced to clean the entire island. For a year." the first cop started.

"And as you can see, he's currently polishing the Shine Gate, and he has to do it until it's as bright as the Shine Sprites themselves." the second cop added.

"Oh, and he's under constant supervision, so every minute he's awake, he's going to work. You can see those guys at the Shine Gate watching him." the first cop pointed out.

"You see, after what he did to you and your lady friend here..." the second cop started.

"She's my wife now." Mario said as he pulled Peach close to him.

"Oh! Well, congratulations!" the cops said.

"Thank you." Mario and Peach replied.

"After what he did to the two of you, we wanted him to have it worse than you did." the second cop tried again.

"Thanks." Mario said.

"Besides, your wife looks nothing like that kid. She can't be his mama like he claimed." the first cop said to Mario.

"Trust me, I know." Peach said.

"That you aren't his mama." Mario finished, getting a smile from Peach.

They stayed at Hotel Delfino, just like last time, only this time, they shared a room, now that they were married.

"Well, this is nice." Mario said as he and Peach got into bed together after they showered.

"Because this is the first night of our honeymoon and we're able to spend it together, in a nice hotel room?" Peach asked.

"Yup. This first night is a lot better than the last time we were here." Mario said, pulling his wife into a cuddle.

"You're right." Peach said as she leaned close to Mario, glad that she was married to him now.

"So, what do you want to do while we're here?" Mario asked.

"The same things we did the last time, except for a few things." Peach said.

"I know what things you're referring to, and I understand that. But it looks like this vacation is going to be different this time, and those things won't happen. And not just because we're married." Mario said, still overwhelmed by this first day back.

"Since we don't want to think about those bad memories, let's do something to forget about them." Peach said.

"Like what?" Mario asked, ready to do whatever Peach suggested.

"This!" Peach said, pulling Mario into a kiss, which he immediately returned. They continued kissing until they fell asleep in each other's arms, tired but more in love than they were before.

Mario and Peach stayed on Isle Delfino for two weeks, and they had a lot more fun than they had the last time. They spent each day doing a lot of the same things they did when they were last here, but they avoided Corona Mountain like the plague. Being near it made Mario and Peach feel angry and nervous.

The best part is, Bowser Jr. never noticed them. He was kept much too busy to notice Mario and Peach spending time together and being happy and in love.

"Wow! We had more fun than I thought we would!" Mario said as he and Peach boarded the plane back to the Mushroom Kingdom.

"And this time, we have better memories of the island!" Peach added.

"I told you!" I said, appearing beside the couple.

"Yes, you did. Are you happy now?" Mario asked.

"I was happy watching you kids enjoy yourselves for the past two weeks." I smiled.

"But now it's time to head back to the castle and prepare for our coronation." Peach said.

"Oh yeah..." Mario said. He remembered that.

"It's okay, Mario. Being a royal family member, I'll help you." Peach assured him.

"When was the last time I told you I loved you?" Mario asked.

"When we got up this morning." Peach replied,

"You're overdue. I love you, Peach." Mario said, hugging Peach.

"I love you, too, Mario." Peach replied, returning the hug.

Awww, I'm glad Mario and Peach didn't have any trouble this time. But remember, their coronation is coming up, and that'll be the last chapter! Stay tuned!
