CHAPTER 4
GENTLEMEN'S CLUB
Arackniss would watch as Leo went limp on the ground. Smoke rolling from his barrel. He would turn to see Pentious standing by the door. Now fully facing him he would hold the revolver down. The two would look over one another. The fact that they were in the same place was a little awkward for them. Arackniss looked back to the dead Leo on the floor. Thinking of something to break the ice.
"So, seems like your deal isn't going to happen. Think he said no." This would make the two laugh a little. Pentious slowly move forward. Happy yet shocked to see Arackniss.
"It seems so." The two would share a small smile when they got interrupted by an explosion that would rock the building.
"Shit. Come on we have to get out of here. Why is your ship shooting if you aren't up there?" Arackniss would sprint with Pentious down the metal stairs. Running and slithering out of the warehouse as it began to collapse. A few more rockets hitting the already destroyed building.
"Egg Boies." Pentious would realize as the two headed for the airship. Grabbing onto the hanging ladder that would lead them up they began to climb. Reaching the hatch as Pentious was the first to open it. "WHAT SSSWINE IS FIRING?" He would hiss out as his hood would flare up and show off more eyes. Slithering up fully so Arackniss could get up into the air ship. Shutting the hatch.
"You said to shoot if you didn't come out in twenty minutes boss man." One of the eggs would say as they were at the control panel. Seemed they needed a few to even operate the ship since their size was against them.
Pentious would get right up on the group and arch over them. "If you heard me contact you on the tele!" The egg bois would all ooooh after he said this. Pentious face palming before motioning them to get away from the panel.
"Seems that hasn't changed." Pentious would turn back as he remembered that Arackniss was on his air ship.
"Oh, Yes...sorry that the egg boies made your job harder Ni- I mean Aracknissss." He would catch himself as he turned back to the control panel. Not wanting to make Arackniss uncomfortable.
"It didn't make it that difficult. Thanks for the concern Pen." Arackniss would understand why he caught himself. Things between the two were a little strange to say the least.
"I can drop you off at your car Arackniss. Is it far?" Arackniss would shake his head no quickly.
"N-not at all Pentious. Uh just about a few from the warehouse on the road that leads to the front gate." Pentious started the airship moving. Checking on his map that he was heading the right way.
"Hey Pen. Do you...want to talk about it?" Pentious would tense up as he gripped the levers that controlled the movement of the airship. Keeping his head down he would nervously try and figure anything to say. Was he ready to talk? Was he even willing to accept what he had done to Arackniss. "Listen Pen. If you don't want to talk its fine." Pentious would turn around in a flash. Eyes filled with tears now.
"I'm so sssorry Arackniss! I know you most likely don't want to even see me! After all I've done. After what I've done! I just..." Arackniss's eyes would go wide from the sudden change in Pentious. Pentious fighting to hold back tears as he had his hands in fists. Holding them close to his chest.
"That's why I want to talk Pen. Listen, I forgive you." As the words hung in the air Pentious would wipe his eyes. Looking to Arackniss in some shock and disbelieve.
"Y-you forgive me? Arackniss I-I shot you!" Arackniss moved forward and got up to Pentious. Looking up at the snake.
"Yeah. And I understand why. You hated my brother. And my brother hated you. I have had time to think about it. Tensions where high with you two. I just got caught in the crossfire." Pentious would listen to every word. A mixture of happiness and guilt would wash through him. How could Arackniss forgive him after he did such a thing.
"H-how can you forgive me?" Pentious asked softly. Looking down to the spider he once called his lover.
"Because I miss you Pen. I miss our talks. I miss your voice. Fuck I even miss the Egg Bois." That would get a smirk from the two. Pentious would brush his hair out of his eyes some. Starting to calm himself down.
"I missed you too...Nissy. I just never thought you wanted to see me again." Pentious played with his hands some as he talked. His nerves running rampant.
"I do want to see you again. But I will say. It's on one condition." Pentious perked up and looked down to Arackniss. "That we take it slow alright? I know we both are glad to see one another. But I want to take our time." Pentious blushed and looked deep into the eyes of Arackniss.
"W-What are you saying Nis?" Arackniss would grab those trembling hands of his.
"I am saying that I want to try again. Start over in a way. How about a date? We can go out for dinner sometime." Pentious would breathe in and exhale. Nodding some to Arackniss's offer.
"That would be perfect Nissy." Arackniss would lean forward. Pentious would pull back some as he thought Arackniss just said he wanted to take it slow. Then he heard a lever being pulled as the ship came to a stop.
"Almost went over my car." He says as the two were inches from one another.
"Oh, my bad." Arackniss would give him a smirk before pulling back and swiftly turning around. Heading for the hatch on the floor. Pulling it open as it would thump loudly on the metal floor.
"See you around Pen. Call me you know my number." He said and slide down the ladder. Pentious quickly slithering over as he watched him slide all the way down the ladder. Get in his car and drive off. Having a soft smile the entire time. Closing the hatch, he turned to face the Egg Bois. Who all were looking up at him as they had watched the entire thing.
"How about we head on home? Been an eventful day my boies." He went back to the controls and would fly the ship off. Heading to park it somewhere safe for the night.
Some days past since the two had reunited in such a strange way. Sir Pentious currently was in his master bathroom. Looking at himself in the mirror as he got ready for his date with Arackniss. The two had gone back and forth through text for the past few days. Arackniss saying he was free tonight. So, they planned on going and seeing one of those fancy picture shows. Movies is what Arackniss would call them. He would check to make sure his hair was proper. As he had just straightened it out just moments ago. Moving his hand through it as he smiled in the mirror. He couldn't hold his excitement. Date with the man he never thought he would see again! Seeing that his hair was perfect. He moved on to his get up. He sported a much newer black suit than he normally had on. Having grey suit jacket to make it complete. He looked at himself in the mirror as he hopped Arackniss would like what he saw. Seeing that he was all done he would grab his top hat. Twirling it before softly placing it on his head. Getting up from his seat he would head out of his bedroom. Grabbing a trench shotgun and putting it down his large suit to hide it. Just incase things got out of hand. Rushing back to the control panel. Quickly getting the ship moving towards the restaurant that they had agreed on. It was a place they were familiar with. The Red Carpet was a high class establishment that Arackniss and his family owned. Putting it in his map he would turn auto pilot on as the ship moved through the air towards its destination.
Arackniss was sitting outside in his car. The car softly humming as he waited in the parking lot of The Red Carpet. He would look into the small sun visor mirror to make sure he was putting on a good impression. He had slick back his hair. Making it shine some from the gel he had used. Having on a stunning black suit with gold patterns and stitchings running up the sleeves and shoulders to the collar. He wore a jet black tie to finish the upper look. His black pants having the same gold lining and patterns down the seams. Closing the mirror, he flipped the visor up and took a deep breath before letting it out. Just relax. It's just a date. You been on plenty of dates before with him in the past. This is no different. He would think over and over in his head. Looking into his suit he saw the silver revolver he always carried on him. Never left home without it. Checking the time with his watch. He saw it was almost 8 P.M. Meaning that he should be arriving here shortly. As if he summoned the snake demon himself, he would hear the airship hovering over him. Leaning out the window to see the ship above his car. The ladder would come down and hang just barely off the ground. Getting out of his car he watched as Pentious came down the later and would touch down on the ground. The two would once again admire how each other looked. How much work they did to make sure they looked the best they could for the date.
"Wow, Pen you look stunning." Pentious blushed some from the compliment.
"You are looking like an Overlord in that stunning outfit Nissy." Arackniss looked down as he chuckled some.
"Do I look good for an Overlord?" Pentious would nod eagerly.
"Oh yes you do. You look like you could rule all of hell!" Sharing a small laugh with one another Arackniss would offer his arm to Pentious. Taking his arm and locking at the elbows the two would walk towards the entrance. Arackniss holding the door for Pentious. Walking in behind him as the hostess would greet the two.
"Booth for two please." Arackniss said as she would smile a wicked smile. Getting them two menus before she led them further into the building. Leading them to a quite booth in the corner. The table would have a black cloth table top with some blood red roses in the middle. Along with an oil lamp that would be their light. Sitting down across from on another the hostess would leave before a waiter came up. He was a short imp who would have to use a step stool to get up to the table. Arackniss smirking under his hat. Knowing full well what being short was like.
"Names Kox and I will be your waiter. What can we start you off to drink? We got a fine selection of wines and liquors from our bar." He said as Arackniss and Pentious got their menus open. Looking through them some.
"Whiskey if you could. Best you got." Arackniss says as he nods and wrote it down.
"A good whiskey does sound good. Make that double." Pentious would say as he would nod. Asking if they wanted any starters.
"Bread will do just fine." Arackniss would say and Pentious would smile in agreement. The imp would write it down and head on off.
"So Pen, how have you been these past few months?" Arackniss would close the menu finding what he wanted. Pentious still deciding some.
"Been good Nissy. I've just been inventing more. Trying to do the whole Overlord thing. Not working out as planned." He would close his menu as well. Putting his elbows on the table. Holding his head up as he looked down to Arackniss. The spider glad to see the snake so happy.
"It's not something that can happen over night. Keep at it. You got the brains to get there. But you may need someone more cold on your side." He would wink leading Pentious to giggle some. Kox their waiter would come back as he set the step stool down and set the bread down and the drinks.
"Are we ready to order?" He would pull out his little notepad. Clicking the pen as he looked to which one would start.
"I will take the salmon please. Lemon on the side." Arackniss motioned for Pentious to go as he would order the steak and mashed potatoes. Once their order was in Kox would leave quickly to get it in.
"What about yourself? You haven't gotten hurt badly since we last saw each other, have you?" Arackniss shook his head some as he sipped his drink.
"Nothing that I can't handle Pen. Work has been going well." He set his glass down as the two would look to one another. It just being nice to be in each other's company.
"I do worry about you sometimes. I know you can get out of dangerous situations. Still makes me worry." Pentious said. He worried sometimes to much when Arackniss was out for longer than he would say.
"But I always make it out. It's my calling card." Arackniss put his hat down on the table. Pentious fully seeing his slick back hair now.
"Oooh that looks great on you. That slick hair. Hope you like what I did. I straightened it out and made it feel extra soft." He flicked his hair some to show it off.
"Mind if I touch it then?" Pentious would lean forward as Arackniss would run one of his hands through the soft fibers of his hair.
"You ain't kiddin'. That is soft." Pentious moved back after a few moments.
"Glad you like it. Did you get that suit of yours just for this?" Arackniss looked down at his clothing and nervously chuckled.
"Is it that obvious? Yeah, I got the whole suit fitted last night." He would fix the cuffs some as he talked.
"It looks just stunning. Like I said earlier. You look like an Overlord." Arackniss liked that. Like that a lot actually. Maybe he will wear something like this more in the future.
The two would share a loving stare when the front doors would suddenly burst open. Flying off the henges as they splintered and broke onto the ground. The two holding up their arms to block the debris. Looking to see who or what caused it there stood a few armed guys. Dressed in masks as they had loaded rifles. Looking to one another Pen reached down into his suit and pulled out a trench shot gun. Arackniss pulling out his revolver. The guys in masks began to fire at them. The two springing into action. Arackiss flipping a table as he got behind it. Pentious firing off a shot that hit one right in the chest. Sending the sinner backwards. Pumping the gun he would aim and fire again. Making the other few scatter for cover. Arackniss peaked out and fired a burst of rounds. Hitting a guy in the chest with the three rounds. Having him stumble and fall to the ground.
"How dare you ruin our date you whores!" Pentious would yell and spot one behind a corner of a wall. Firing as the pellets blew chunks out of the wall. Sending dust and wood out. The guy covering back more. Arackniss would get up as one swung to take out Pentious. Firing one round as it made his head rock back and quickly fall to the ground. Reloading he put four bullets back into the cylinder before clacking it back with a snap. The one that was behind the wall would peak again. Pentious was already ready for him. Firing as he would land a solid hit on his chest. The sinner falling down and groaning out in pain. Looking around the two would see no one was coming through. Seeming to have taken out the threat. The two walked up to the bleeding out sinner on the ground. His mask was torn from the first blast at the wall.
"Who do you work for huh?!" Arackniss would ask and grab his shirt. Pulling him face to face to the guy.
"I...can't tell you. You know that." He said and was already fading out. Pushing on him he would let the guy fall back down. Pentious racking his shotgun. The shell falling to the floor as Arackniss and him stood over the guy. Watching as he slowly bled out and died there in the lobby. Turning around to see some of the damage that was done. They would see Kox there standing with a tray of bread for a table that was no longer there. Seeming to have made a run for it when the shooting start.
"Check?" He asked simply.
"Check." Both would say as they turned back to the dead bodies on the ground.
After paying for their "dinner" the two would rush to Arackniss's car. Pentious would call up to the airship as he told the Egg Bois to move the ship away from the area. The airship slowly began to move away above them. Getting in the passenger seat he would hold out his hand. His hat spitting one shell at a time as Pentious would reload.
"Who the fuck would attack us on our turf!?" Arackniss said as he had gotten in his trunk. Getting out the B.A.R machine gun and set it between the seat and the door. Starting the car and heading off. Looking over to see Pentious have that shotgun in his grip.
"Pen when did you start caring a shotgun? When did you start carrying any weapon besides your ray gun?" Pentious would move his hips some to show he still had it.
"I carry both now after you taught me to shoot better Nissy. And oh do I love this gun." He says as Arackniss couldn't help but somehow be turned on. Pentious with a gun was really fucking hot to him.
"Alright well we need to figure out why we got attacked. If we can figure that out then we can plan for our next move." A shot rang out and the driver side mirror would shatter. Looking behind them they saw they were being followed by two cars. The cars shooting at them. The bullet proof glass preventing them from getting shot.
"Fuck! Alright seems we aren't out yet. Pen can you take care of them as I drive?" Turning the car hard as it drifted some. The tires screeching in protest.
"Already on it Nissy." He rolled down the window and leaned out the car. Firing a shot at the passenger that was shooting. Nearly hitting him as the car would swerve to avoid the next shot. Pumping again he aimed and fire. Hitting inside the window this time as the car would almost spin out. Losing some speed as the second black car would pass them and try to catch up. Getting fired on Pentious ducked back into the car. Arackniss taking another hard turn and florred it down the road. Taking this time to reload Pentious pumped the shotgun again and leaned out. Firing two quick shots before coming back in. The car firing on them again. The other car that had lost speed was now coming up on the driver side.
"Pen get ready to shoot." Arackniss said as he suddenly pulled the hand break and spun the car around 180. Pentious leaned out the window as Arackniss held his revolver out the window. The two firing shots into the cars. Shattering the windows and hitting their targets. Making the cars get loose as they skidded past them. Crashing into a few parked cars. Slamming on the breaks Arackniss and Pentious got out quickly. Moving quickly as the mirrored each other. Getting up to the first car Arackniss would pull open the driver door as the dead sinner would fall out. The passenger trying to get his gun up. Pentious shooting him before he could, A puff of red mist would glow in the light from the street pole above the car. He went limp instantly. Pumping the shotgun, the two moved to the last car. Seeing the passenger and driver are out of the car and laying on the road or street. The back passenger door opened as out feel another masked sinner. Seeing the two as they loaded him with a few rounds. Checking inside the car it looked clear as Arackniss spotted a phone on the ground. Picking it up as he began to scroll to see they were in contact with someone named "Rush."
"Someone named Rush. Can you take this phone apart and track that contact's location back?" He asked to Pentious. Who would come up behind the spider.
"Yes of course I can. We just need to get back to my airship. Where should I have it go?" Arackniss would toss the phone to Pentious. Catching it as he put it in his suit jacket.
"To my safe house. Still know the location?" Pentious would smirk.
"How can I forget?" The two would share a small laugh before their attention drawn to another survivor of the car crash. He had pushed opened the back seat door. Falling out onto the pavement. The two moving as Arackniss used his foot to push him onto his back. The sinner looking up to them with wide yes. His mask was off as he was a hell hound. Calming down he would lay flat on his back.
"You two are all dressed up. Didn't think I would be erased by two well dressed men." He says as he would laugh at his own stupid joke.
"Then allow me to be the first and last to say this." Pentious and Arackniss aimmed their guns to the poor hell hound.
"Welcome to the Gentlemen's Club."
