"You're not gonna tell us anything about school today?"
Fuutarou slowly shifted his gaze from his food to the person who spoke, which was his mother, before flashing a snarky grin.
Normally, he would have a bored look instead, but due to his sister's presence at the table, he couldn't do such a thing. Yes, he wasn't afraid of showing those kinds of expressions to his parents, believing that it would only lead to bigger trouble if he's not sincere with his feelings.
They were currently having dinner at the moment, although things between the whole Uesugi family were quiet up until now. Hayami couldn't take the silence because she was always used to everyone either talking or laughing, but neither her husband nor Raiha were talking and they were normally the ones who would start a conversation between the family.
And so, she was left with no choice but to rely on her son, even though she knew that he would rarely speak at the table, let alone talk about his day. The only times those things happen would be if Raiha asks him but apart from that, he normally stays quiet unless he is spoken to.
Oh, well. It doesn't hurt to try, right?
"What is there to tell, exactly? It's the same as every other day. It's the same as last week, and it will stay that way until we have our break."
At that moment, the blonde man sitting across him chose to speak up, a teasing grin spreading across his face. He looked very similar to Fuutarou, especially in their hair; the only visible difference between them aside from their demeanor was that he had green eyes compared to the latter's blue ones, which he had inherited from his mother.
"Oh no, I can definitely tell something interesting happened! You're normally just bored while we're eating but today, you look like you want to head to your room right away after eating."
The grin on Fuutarou's face disappeared as he turned towards his father, unwilling to hold back his irritation with the man. Not even Raiha's presence stopped him from forming a frown on his face after hearing Isanari Uesugi's words.
After all, this guy ruined his mood for the entire day when he told Raiha about taking detours before going home. He was still pissed off from that, by the way, and he won't let his father get the last laugh in this.
It's also unknown if Isanari just chose to stay quiet until he heard his son speak or not…
"That's because today has not been my day thanks to you," he said in a sharp tone.
Isanari kept his grin intact, while folding his arms across his chest. Hayami only sighed, as she could already sense an impending argument about to take place between father and son. Thankfully, Raiha was oblivious to the rising tension around her, being focused on eating the delicious curry that her mother cooked for them.
"I don't even know what you're talking about, Fuutarou. Come on, tell your old man about it! Let's make this place more lively!"
Fuutarou was having none of it. "Don't play innocent with me. You know what you did. Besides, even if something did happen, there's no way I'm telling you about it, old man."
"Well, if you're not going to tell your father about it, then you can tell me instead."
Hayami chose that moment to intervene, not wanting things to escalate any further. She sent both her son and her husband a frown, as if she was daring them to say anything else. Isanari wisely chose to keep his mouth shut out of fear, while Fuutarou stubbornly retained the bored look on his face.
"Is there any difference between the two?"
The older woman deepened her frown to assert her seriousness. "A dinner table isn't a place to be quiet, you know. Besides, I'm sure Raiha-chan wants to know more about how your day went."
Hearing his sister's name caused the young man to turn to his right side, where he saw Raiha looking up at him with a look of excitement on her face. She looked so innocent and curious that it's no question she was Fuutarou's biggest weakness.
"Fine," he sighed in defeat, already preparing himself for what might happen next. "I met a weird girl today. That enough for you?"
As expected, his parents' reactions were so over the top that Fuutarou could only sigh; Isanari nearly choked on the rice that was in his mouth which forced him to drink some water to save himself, while Hayami slammed her hands on the table rather violently with a dumbfounded look on her face.
"A girl?!"
"W-Who is it?!"
Fuutarou only sent a blank look towards them after they spoke, as if he was expressing his disappointment in them. So what if he met a girl? Do his parents have to make a big deal about it?
Besides, it's not like she was someone to be talked about. The girl he met was weird, because she was following him around the whole day, only to end up disliking him in the end. As much as he was satisfied with this outcome, it did make him wonder what was the point of her actions if she would only detest him by the end of the day.
Maybe she wanted to know more about him or something?
"Onii-chan, do you have a girlfriend now?"
The young man froze as he heard those words, and it made him even more nervous when he recognized whose voice it belonged to. He slowly turned his head towards Raiha, who now had a look of surprise on her face, while also seemingly eager to know her brother's answer to her question.
He sighed deeply, because the one person whom he would rather stay out of his problems was now curious about his earlier situation in school.
"And this is why I didn't want to talk about it," he clicked his tongue at his parents, before putting on a calmer look as he faced his sister. "No, Raiha. I don't have a girlfriend or anything like that. It's just someone I met earlier, nothing more than that."
"Oh."
For some reason, Raiha sounded disappointed that her brother didn't give her the answer she wanted, but Fuutarou wasn't able to notice it. Still, she didn't let it bother her as she took her plate and utensils to the sink, leaving the table.
Was she hoping for her brother to get a girlfriend or something?
With Raiha gone from the table, Hayami thought that it was safe to discuss more about what her son told them.
She was definitely not expecting Fuutarou to say something like that. Talking about meeting a girl? Knowing her son, Fuutarou would never do something like that, and it would be more understandable if he spoke about how boring his classes have been, even if it's an obvious occurrence that happens everyday.
There's no way Fuutarou just became more open to other people out of nowhere.
There has to be more to this!
"Alright, we'll let you explain yourself then. What did you mean when you said that you met a girl?" she asked, frowning in confusion.
Fuutarou shrugged, drinking some water to keep himself hydrated. He can already tell that this will take him a while to properly explain without his parents misunderstanding the whole situation, which was very likely to happen, especially in his father's case.
"She's not much, just a transferee from another school who tried to play tricks on me."
"Play tricks on you? What do you mean?"
Isanari raised an eyebrow, putting on a more serious look which got Fuutarou to feel confused for a moment. Talking about girls got his idiot of a father to drop his normal demeanor and become serious?
No, not important at the moment. As a matter of fact, this might be good for a change, because he himself didn't think of this as a serious matter.
How ironic.
"At first, I saw her when I went inside the school but then the next thing I know, she was following me wherever I went. When I got to the gym behind the school, she was already there, playing dodgeball with the athletes. She even got a quick haircut out of nowhere and a complete change of clothes. And then, I saw her again at lunch when she asked to let her eat with me. Again, a complete change of clothes and she had long hair again like it was a miracle!"
Fuutarou finished with a tone filled with sarcasm, while throwing his arms into the air to make it somehow over the top even though he didn't really take it seriously. Truth be told, it almost sounded comical because of how Itsuki was acting the entire time, changing her demeanor several times along with her appearance.
"Maybe you have a stalker following you everywhere you go, sweetie? I've heard of teenagers at your age going through that thing a lot," Hayami asked, already feeling concerned for her son's safety after hearing his explanation.
He shook his head. "She's not a stalker, I can tell you that."
If Itsuki was stalking him, he'd be able to sense her intentions from a mile away because he was used to people watching his every action. You never know when danger might come, especially for someone like him, so it would be for the best to always keep a sharp eye and mind on everything else around you.
Besides, with her snappy attitude, it's almost impossible for someone like her to follow other people around for strange reasons.
"Well, that's a surprise! She's gotta be the first girl since Jun-chan who's willing to be around ya! Is there something developing between you and this girl you're talking about?" Isanari exclaimed, seemingly back to his old self after being serious for a brief moment.
Well, it was good while it lasted.
"She was supposed to eat with someone else and not me," Fuutarou shook his head, unsure if that was really what Itsuki said to him, although he didn't care even if it wasn't. He then sent a displeased look at his father for mentioning a certain name in his words. "Don't even try bringing in other people into this little conversation we're having."
"Eh, but it's true, right? Jun-chan's the only one who's not afraid of you back then and she was even crying when she had to move away."
The teasing grin on Isanari's face only served to piss off the young man even further, which was evident in the glare that Fuutarou sent to his father. From the looks of things, it seems that just upon hearing the name that his father mentioned, it caused his entire mood to shift.
"Shut it."
Fearing that her husband and son would end up having a fight while they were still at the table, Hayami intervened once again. She knew that just from hearing that name, no matter the reason, Fuutarou likely won't take it in a good way because of what it meant to him.
Hayami easily got their attention by slamming her hand down on the table, causing them to turn towards her.
She cleared her throat first before speaking once again. "Well, did you get her name, at least? If she was following you around and you knew what she was doing, you must have known who she is. I just hope you didn't scare the poor girl into telling you her name."
Fuutarou rubbed the back of his head and sighed. Looks like he's not gonna get out of this one until he tells them everything about the girl he met. Can't say he didn't this coming, though.
"Her name's Nakano."
For some reason, that particular statement from him caused his parents to be in shock once more, his father more than his mother with the way his entire demeanor shifted once again into a more serious one. Both Isanari and Hayami turned towards each other and seemed as if they were talking through their expressions alone, with one thing occupying both of their minds.
The name that their son had mentioned.
Meanwhile, Fuutarou was unaware of this because he was finishing up his meal so that he can put it away in the sink.
"Nakano?" Isanari asked. "Wait a second, do you know what she looked like?"
"What she looked like…"
Fuutarou paused in eating and actually thought about that question for the next few moments. He could only briefly remember Itsuki because he took her out of his mind after telling her to leave him alone for good, meaning that he couldn't recall her exact appearance. Even with that, there were still two separate times when she went through a change in appearance and honestly, he didn't really want to spend too much time thinking about all of it.
"I'm not really sure since she kept changing what she looked like at first, but let's go with red hair, blue eyes, easily triggered, and big boobs."
Isanari immediately spat out the water in his mouth after hearing that last bit from his son before he began laughing uncontrollably. On the other hand, Hayami sent a cold glare towards her son for his choice of words when they were still at the table, but he already had his attention back to his food and therefore, he wasn't able to notice.
But damn, that was a close one.
It's a really good thing that Raiha wasn't at the table anymore.
"Sounds like someone already has a crush just from how he described her," Isanari grinned smugly.
"Not in a million years."
"You sure about that? Maybe this girl can get ya to score a bit higher for a change, so why don't you try becoming friends with her?"
Fuutarou didn't bother questioning his old man about how he sounded like he knew his own classmate, and simply finished up his dinner before taking his plate and utensils towards the sink.
"I'd rather read a book on my own than do it with someone else," the blonde teen stated firmly, making his answer clear as daylight and that it won't change.
However, he wasn't able to notice how his father then bore a devious smirk, showing that he was planning something in his mind. Hayami could already tell what her husband was planning but made no move to stop him because she was having thoughts of her own regarding this, but that's a story for another time.
Looks like Isanari will be making a couple of phone calls after leaving the table…
HSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHS
Fuutarou stood by the staircase leading to the main doors, spending the rest of his free time being in peace. He didn't feel tired that he wanted to take a quick nap at the shed by the gym like yesterday, because his day was going pretty well so far, all things considered.
Before leaving home, he was able to get his revenge on his old man by throwing away the pack of cigarettes that Isanari just bought yesterday, which will force the man to buy another one today! It was the perfect way to get his payback, and he was quite sure that his father was already struggling to find the one he bought yesterday!
Not only that, but he also won't be seeing that Nakano girl anymore, not after how she ended their final conversation the day before!
Heh, who knew that that girl can be easily affected by things related to school? If throwing his test paper into the trash was enough to get that reaction from her, then how can she possibly take in the fact that he doesn't study at all?
Well, it doesn't really matter now. She won't be bothering him again, and he won't have to deal with her anytime soon because Nakano's out of his hair!
Nothing can possibly ruin his mood now!
"Hey, you!"
Never mind. It ended too soon.
"It was fun while it lasted, I guess."
Releasing a deep sigh to himself, Fuutarou snapped himself out of his thoughts and turned to the source of that particular voice. There's a high chance of him not being the one those words were directed to, but since he heard it, he must be involved somehow.
Plus, he would rather be the one to cut himself from his thoughts than someone else doing it and get on his nerves at the same time.
However, just when he turned his head to face that new presence, Fuutarou couldn't stop himself from raising an eyebrow upon seeing the exact same girl he was talking about earlier… the one whom he said would leave him alone after everything that's happened.
Nino Nakano stopped in her tracks and stood directly in front of her not-so-secret-crush, already struggling to retain a smile on her face and for it not to get replaced by a blush.
Of course, she would feel nervous.
She was literally standing before Fuutarou Uesugi, the hottest boy she had ever laid eyes on!
However, despite her obvious embarrassment on the inside, Nino gathered enough courage to send him a suggestive look, before following it up with a wink in an effort to make herself look more attractive in his eyes.
"Fancy meeting you here today, Uesugi Fuutarou-kun~"
Despite her clear voice which he could hear without any problems, Fuutarou only stared at the girl while his face seemed devoid of any emotion all because of the sudden presence of the very girl who lost her patience with him because of his attitude. The same girl who wanted to eat with him during lunch and yet was incapable of keeping her mouth shut.
"…What the hell?"
What the fuck is she doing here? Didn't she hate him for throwing his mock exam into the trash? Did she learn nothing from their interactions yesterday?! Okay, she wasn't wearing that black uniform from yesterday anymore, but that face!
There's no denying that this girl was Itsuki Nakano!
"Why the hell are you still playing games with me? I thought I was the most insensitive person you ever met?"
Fuutarou didn't hesitate to send her a deep glare, already expressing his anger at this girl's persistence that she won't stop bothering him. So, her actions yesterday were just a front and she was really just messing with him the whole time?
Clever.
But he's faced off against more dangerous obstacles than this.
Meanwhile, Nino's attempt to make herself look more appealing in his eyes already fell apart, and was replaced with a bewildered expression upon hearing those words. She froze in her place, realizing that she might have been caught red-handed in her plan.
Did he know all along that she was going to ask him out or something?!
"W-What…?" she breathed out in shock.
He narrowed his eyes even further, his irritation for this girl growing higher. "Oh, so your game today is playing dumb, huh? I have no idea what's going on in your head right now, but this has gotta be your most compelling attempt to mess with me."
Nino could only raise an eyebrow out of pure confusion.
What the hell is he saying? Why is he making it sound like they already met before? This was only the second time that they have met, the first being yesterday when he arrived at school. She didn't meet him again after that until now, so why is speaking as if they already have?!
"Well, let me tell you right now, Nakano. If you want to play dumb, do it with someone else that's not me. I don't have time for your shit because I don't want to ruin my day."
Holy f-
"D-Did he just…?"
Upon hearing her family name, Nino let out a loud gasp as she couldn't hold in her confusion any longer.
"Wait, wait, what?! How did you know my name?! I didn't tell you anything yet!" she exclaimed with a dumbfounded look, while unable to stop her cheeks from turning red at the fact that he knew who she was before she could say anything.
Still, how could he have known her name? Did he already know who she was before she even walked up to him?! Was he already anticipating her presence even before she planned to try and ask him out?
He flashed a sarcastic grin that made her take a step back. "You may be able to pull everyone else's leg, but not me. You speak as if I didn't see you talk in front of the whole class and tell everyone who you were."
Her eyes widened when she heard his last statement, before fighting back with fire in her tone. She also began waving her hands before her in a frantic manner, showing her complete puzzlement.
"W-Wait a second! I never did that!" she denied, her face growing hotter with every passing second. "We're not even classmates!"
Fuutarou almost laughed at that but instead, he limited himself to a snort that escaped his nostrils.
"Nice try, but your mind games are only good for wasting someone's time instead of fooling them. Go and bother someone else, because my day is just going to get ruined if you keep on showing your face to me."
"Just hold on, alright?!" Nino held out her hands right in front of his face, which managed to stop the young man from speaking.
However, it did nothing against the unamused look on his face. Fuutarou only stared at the girl in front of him blankly as she took a few seconds to calm herself, before slowly letting her arms drop to her sides.
Nino's face had turned entirely red but despite that, she was able to maintain a serious look before finally speaking once again.
"Alright, first off… what the hell are you even trying to say? Mind games? I'm not trying to play with you here! Talking in front of the whole class? We're not classmates and this is only the second time we met!" she argued, forgetting about her plan to ask her crush out for the moment in order to get to the bottom of this.
Fuutarou didn't look convinced one bit, but since she was persistent as though she knew what she was talking about, he'll let her speak. It'll be funny to expose this girl and her games which would be a big loss on her part.
He tried to get her to stay away, yet she was too stubborn to listen.
"The hell are you talking about?"
"The first time I saw you was when you walked right past me, remember?! It was yesterday!" she stated with a frown, feeling that she wasn't being taken seriously at all.
"I remember it clearly, Nakano. You were pointing at me while I was walking past you for some reason and then you turned around and avoided me, anyway."
She froze. "D-Did you hear what I said that time…?"
"You said something?"
"Never mind!" Nino took a moment to sigh in relief because he didn't hear her proclaiming that he was her type, before reverting back to her earlier demeanor. "A-Anyway, that's the only time I saw you until now! I don't know what you're trying to say that we're classmates, because we're not!"
"If you still want to play dumb, be my guest. But, I don't have time to play, so can you just leave? I wonder what you even have to gain from this," he rolled his eyes and waved his hand to make her go away.
He wasn't convinced at all, and he even gave her a chance to explain herself.
Nino shook her head furiously and began stomping her foot repeatedly to further assert her point. She wasn't lying and she knew it to herself! She'll make him realize that she's telling the truth whatever it takes!
"No! I'm not playing dumb because I'm telling the truth! This is literally only the second time I've seen you!" she shot back with a cold look of her own.
Fuutarou narrowed his eyes even further. This girl was more persistent than he gave her credit for, but instead of looking tired like yesterday, he felt challenged instead. Perhaps it's because he was in a good mood up until now, right after getting payback on his father for what he did yesterday.
"Alright, then. How do you know my name?"
He can still remember this girl asking him if she could share a lunch table with him, which he considered both stupid and reckless at the same time. Along with that, she introduced herself and he did the same while internally hoping that she would leave him alone after finding out who he is.
What a farce that was.
"I found out about it from my friends yesterday! What about you? If we really met already, then you should know who I am!" she retorted, before flashing him a smug look.
He may know her family name but there's no way he could know who she was! She didn't know how he knew it, but that wasn't important right now. She never told him his name, and Nino was sure of it!
He continued to narrow his eyes at her for a few more seconds, before thinking back to their meeting in the cafeteria. As much as he wanted to throw it out of his mind, he can still remember her name clearly and proceeded to give his answer.
It'll be so worth it to see this girl get exposed for her stupid games.
"You're Itsuki Nakano."
The girl became silent after hearing his answer, and her eyes slowly widened after that name he just dropped. After being left to his thoughts for a while, Fuutarou turned his attention to her and waited for her response, but all Nino did was blink a few times as if she couldn't believe what just heard.
"Pfft!"
And then all of a sudden, Nino puffed her cheeks in an attempt to hide her laughter, but was unable to and had no choice but to laugh out loud for some reason.
"Hahahahaha, oh my god…! Y-You really thought I was Itsuki, hahahahaha! Oh, this is the best, ahahahahaha! Looks like we still got it, hahahaha!"
Nino couldn't stop herself from laughing at the answer that Fuutarou gave her, so much to the point that she started holding her stomach to prevent herself from losing her balance and falling over.
Meanwhile, Fuutarou could only stare at her with a deadpan expression, wondering what exactly is so funny that it could make the girl laugh like this. Did he miss something while he wasn't paying attention to her? Maybe something funny was behind him?
Hmm, perhaps he was right about her being weird.
"The hell are you laughing about…?"
Nino didn't respond at first, as she was too preoccupied with laughing that her face had turned red at this point.
"Because, Fuu-kun…" she tried to answer through deep breaths, while also showing how much she was struggling to fight off her amusement. "I now know what your problem is~"
She finished with a smirk, stepping closer towards the young man and looking up at him. Fuutarou didn't react to her action at all, nor did he seem to hear the name she used to refer to him. However, he did raise an eyebrow at the last statement she said, thinking it was something important.
"My problem?"
Nino took a deep breath, finally calming down from all her laughing before giving him a sweet smile.
"Itsuki is my sister, and you must have mistaken me for her because we look exactly like each other! Don't worry, I totally understand why you'd think that way."
"What…?" he said out of instinct, unable to understand what she meant at first. It took him a few moments for those to register in his mind, especially after the implications that it brought upon him. "Look like each other? Are you saying you're twins?"
She shook her head in amusement. "Not exactly. We're quintuplets, so that makes five of us who look like each other! Keep that in mind, because I don't want you to forget about me, alright?"
Unfortunately for her, Fuutarou wasn't able to understand anything after she mentioned that there were five of them who looked exactly like one another, as they were quintuplets. This means that it's not strange at all for him to meet three girls with the same face but different appearances yesterday, because they were all different from each other!
This also meant that Itsuki, the one who had lunch with him and was also his classmate, wasn't the one he met when he arrived at school or the girl by the track, either!
This girl standing before him… she must be the one whom he met here in the school grounds then. Yeah, that's what she was saying earlier…
"Quintuplets… does this mean I met another one of you at the track? If I saw you here, then that means the one I met near the gym is your sister, but it's not Itsuki either."
Much to Fuutarou's own surprise, he was genuinely curious about this situation that he had gotten himself in for some reason. Perhaps it's because he was wrong about all this in presuming that Itsuki was just messing with him? Considering the fact that he was speaking with her sister and not Itsuki herself, it somehow erased the frustration that was building up inside him because he had the wrong idea about this all along.
Nino raised an eyebrow. "The gym? Well, I have an idea on who it could be, but I'm not sure. Can you remember what she looked like?"
Fuutarou frowned and sunk back into his thoughts, trying to remember the exact appearance of the girl who was playing dodgeball with Uehara and the other athletes. Thankfully, it didn't take him much time because of a certain detail in her overall look.
"Well, she was dressed like she was ready for a run… had short hair, and… a ribbon on her head, I think."
The girl blinked a few times before letting another smile appear on her face. "A ribbon? That means you've met Yotsuba, then!"
"Yotsuba?"
"You saw her near the gym, right? It only makes sense for Yotsuba to be there, hanging around with the players and athletes!" Nino explained with her arms folded across her chest, before shaking her head in amusement. "Should've known that she brought our old P.E. uniform, though… no wonder she was so excited when we left home yesterday…"
"I see…" Fuutarou slowly nodded, as everything was starting to become clear for him. However, it left him confused with the identity of the girl he was talking to. "And who exactly are you?"
"Oh! You can call me Nino, Fuu-kun~" she replied with a wink.
"Nino," he repeated, making a mental note in his mind along with the names of her two other sisters, just as he remembered something important.
He quickly brought out his phone and checked the time, only to deadpan when he saw that he only had two minutes left until their first period starts.
"Wow, did I really take that much time talking to a girl?" he remarked to himself before shifting his attention back towards Nino.
So much for spending his free time in peace but at the very least, he was relieved to know that there was no one trying to play tricks on him.
"Well, thanks for clearing things up with you and your sisters, but I don't have any more time to waste."
With that, he awkwardly raised his arm and waved it once before turning towards the main doors. However, before he could take off, he heard Nino quickly calling out to him and kept him in place for now.
"Wait, just give me a moment! I want to ask you something! It's what I came to you for!"
As soon as she heard him saying that he needed to leave, Nino immediately realized that she wasn't able to say the question she wanted to ask him because of what they were discussing earlier. She didn't want him to go yet, not until she accomplishes what she came to him for!
Fuutarou only shook his head. "Whatever you want to tell me, do it another time. I need to get going."
Before the girl could say anything, Fuutarou already ran off inside the building, leaving Nino just standing there with no hopes of catching up to him.
"Well, that didn't go according to plan…" she released a sigh of defeat, before quickly recovering from it after thinking about what else happened between them in the little discussion that they had.
"But on the bright side, I did get to talk to him and I can talk to him again because he said so! He didn't mind when I called him 'Fuu-kun' either!"
With those thoughts in mind, Nino went inside as well since she had to attend her own class, after all. For someone who was supposed to be a delinquent, Fuutarou Uesugi seemed pretty calm and collected now that she talked to him. This made her wonder even more about why Yamada and Otori wanted to warn her about talking to him.
Okay, she may have been intimidated a bit when he saw her earlier, but it was because of misunderstanding that erupted between them. After she explained that she had four other sisters who looked exactly the same as her, he calmed down completely and looked somehow normal, even for just a brief moment.
There's no way she can let go of this while she had a chance!
"Maybe I can talk to him during lunch… but I don't want to do it where everyone can see us. That would only ruin my chances of going out with him," Nino thought to herself, thinking of what she should do next to succeed in her goal.
And that was to go out with Fuutarou Uesugi on a date.
HSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHS
"Looks like finding a table is gonna take me some time today," Fuutarou said in his thoughts, completing one whole trip around the whole cafeteria in search of an empty table, but was unsuccessful in doing so.
He blamed the class they had prior to their lunch break. Their damn teacher would have babbled a lot longer if he didn't stand up and pointed to the clock on the wall, which made him feel ashamed of himself for keeping the class at bay when it was already supposed to be lunch for them.
"I guess I'll just lean against the wall, then."
Shrugging his shoulders, he decided to simply head for spot near the doors so he would be able leave quickly if he wanted to. It's not like he'll be having a bento for him to require a table in order to eat. He only had a couple of curry bread for lunch, which he can eat while standing with no problem at all.
However, while he was on his way towards the cafeteria doors, his eyes caught sight of a familiar red-haired girl from his class at a nearby table going through her lunch like a hungry bear. Sitting next to her was the girl he talked with hours earlier, as Nino looked surprised upon seeing him just standing there.
"Those girls must be the sisters she's talking about," he thought, seeing three other girls sitting with the two and ignoring the sly wink that came from Nino after seeing him.
Itsuki ended up noticing his presence because of her sister and immediately after seeing him, the girl scowled and turned away with a pout on her face. Fuutarou only sent her a bored look since he didn't care for her petty anger towards him, before continuing on his way.
"Eh? Leaving already?"
Hearing the sound of a chair moving nearby, Fuutarou immediately thought that someone was going to be leaving a table which he would take advantage of, only to furrow his eyebrows upon seeing one of the girls who were sitting with Nino and Itsuki, meaning that she must be one of their other sisters.
Compared to the other two, this girl had short red hair, a single earring on her right ear, and a yellow jacket wrapped around her waist. She had a look of amusement on her face, which was honestly creeping him out from the way her expression seemed so… fake.
"You're looking for a seat, right? It's fine to eat with us, you know."
Well, his parents now know that he has a classmate named 'Nakano'. I wonder what Isanari is going to do regarding this, hehe. Finally, the air has been cleared thanks to Nino and he now knows that they are quintuplets and not just one person, lol. He literally would make a fool of himself if he stays uninformed about it, so props to Nino. Lastly, he has now encountered another quint, and I'm pretty sure ya'll know who it is. See ya in the next update!
Goodbye... and good night! BANG! *too sweet gesture*
