The next day or so later, Claudia helped her parents go to the attic and look for Mimi's Bible. She and her grandma were very close when she was growing up. At least whoever knew about Mimi, they knew it was her who admired Mimi for all she did.
"Could this be it?" Claudia asked, holding a small book.
Her mother headed over in her direction.
"It says Holy Bible. I guess you guys were right about her keeping a Bible. How come we never knew about that?"
Her father shrugged his shoulders.
"I don't know, Claudia. Her spirit is always with us. Now that you found the Bible, you could keep it and browse. You asked about that recently, remember?"
"Yes," she answered.
"We'll let you keep it since we remember how close you were with Mimi," he replied.
"Thank you, Dad. Does Janine know about the Bible Mimi had?"
"Ask her yourself," her mother said.
"Maybe later I will. But right now all I need is Mimi's spirit to flip through this old book."
"She's probably smiling down at us right now and see we found the book this entire time."
"You think so, Mom?"
"Yes, I do."
"Agreed," he replied.
That's when the three of them left the attic.
"A Bible hiding this whole time and nobody knew about it. Why would she keep it in the attic?" Claudia asked herself as she went to her bedroom.
Once she slammed the door, Claudia decided to speak with God before browsing the Word.
"God, I may not know how this relationship would be a second chance for You and I.
"The only thing I want now is for my family to notice me more than ever before.
"I guess part of it had to do with Janine before I arrived in this world. I guess Mom and Dad were right all along that You gave Mimi's spirit this whole time without letting me figure that out. I'm not sure how You and Dawn are working on second chances for he. Are You thinking she would have a closer relationship with her dad and brother in California?
"I'm also sure we aren't the only ones noticing it for the first time, but I can be wrong. I've never thought of becoming a spiritual person, but You let this happen just recently. How should I begin with this Book we just found? I might be a first – time beginner in this crazy world, but there's always a first time for everyone. Please help me begin this new journey as I get to try getting closer to You. I hope and pray that You will also have the other girls change with me and Dawn.
"How would You let this relationship take? Maybe not forever."
That's when Claudia decided to end this prayer here. Now God was with her this entire time, listening to those words she had chosen.
"Thank you for your first prayer, Claudia. This is one of the ways to communicate with My Spirit. I listen to everyone and their needs.
"Yes, you are exactly correct that you're not the only beginner to start something with Me.
"If people like you think this way about not keeping a relationship with Me, I never let that happen to any of My children. It's up to them if they want to accept Me. I already found the perfect place for you to be when it's your turn to pass on. Nobody is perfect. Only My Son Jesus Christ is the one who is. That was My plan for Jesus."
"Why are You letting this happen with me? I don't understand."
"You will when you pick up this Book that I wrote. Of course it's the only Book people will want to read, even if it means planning a relationship with Me. I listen to everyone's thoughts, no matter what they are."
Claudia still didn't understand what God had just said. She hoped this conversation with God stop today. there is no way He'd let that happen.
"Why did You wait until I turned sixteen? I f I met You in the past, I'd have known You longer before finding out just recently."
"We will keep this personal relationship going. Only I have plans for your future, so all you need to do is figure out what I had just come up with."
Claudia kept this conversation going with God, and then it was the end.
