So another update. You know the drill review, follow and add this story to your favorites, so I know that it doesn't suck completely.
Julia woke up as she felt the rays of the sun on her face, she looked up to see Elena coming towards her with her coffee,
"Good morning Jules, Jenna is getting ready so I decided to wake you up," She said cheerfully, with a smile. Yup, that was Elena always taking care of other people, but why she looked so cheery in the morning; ohhh of course.
"I don't know about me but what about you huh, enjoyed the night."
"What?" As Elena was about to finish her sentence, Jenna barged in
"Do I look, adult? As in respectfully parental?" Jenna asked Elena.
"Depends on where you're going," Elena replied.
"Jeremy's parent-teacher conference," she told her niece. "Hair up or down?"
Jenna twisted her hair into a bun. "Sexy stewardess." She dropped her strawberry blonde hair. "Boozy housewife."
Jenna chuckled. "Up it is. You're feisty today." Jenna said happily.
Yup everyone is happy except for me, go on throw it in my face see if I care, I thought bitterly
"I feel good, which is rare," Elena said.
of course, you would.
"So I've decided to go with it. Fly free, walk in the sunshine, and all that stuff. Where's Jeremy?"
"He left early. Something about getting to woodshop early to finish a birdhouse." Then it dawned on the young guardian. "There is no woodshop, is there?"
"No Aunt Jenna there is none." Julia busted into the conversation.
Elena shook her head. "No."
"Yeah..."
Normally I would have complimented her after that but not today, I was in a bad mood and when I am in a bad mood I am a raging lunatic. When Jenna had left the room, Elena turned to me with an infectious smile, my previous comment apparently forgotten
"So I was thinking that both of us could spend some time giving out the pamphlets for the Night of the Comet, we can have some bonding time and it will be really good for both of ours Miss Mystic Falls application. So how about it?" she asked with a hopeful smile, her eyes shining.
"No" what you think I was going to say Yes after she stole Stefan from me. Huh, fat chance. The smile slipped right off her face.
"Oh umm okay." she turned to leave but I was not done yet.
"What makes you think that I even want to see your face, much less spend some time with you, but then again I already saw your face first thing in the morning. O My God!, today is going to be a very bad day, I just, you know what just leave Elena, go away. You only mess things up" I closed my eyes not wanting to see her reaction and feel guilty about it afterward. After a moment, I heard the door close behind her as I screamed into my pillow.
In history class, Tanner rambled on as Elena and Stefan made gooey eyes at each other, God the sight made me filled with envy and barf at the same time.
" Originally discovered nearly five centuries ago, it hasn't been over Mystic Falls in over one hundred and forty-five years. Now, the comet will be its brightest right after dusk during tomorrow's celebration." Until he caught them.
"Are we bothering you, Mr. Salvatore? Ms. Gilbert?"
Ah the surname, guess who wasn't pleased with Elena. I am actually starting to like Miss Tanner. Okay, that was a joke.
My happiness was short-lived as I heard both of them in the corridor, at the end of the school.
" So Elena you looked a little upset when I saw you earlier, what happened," Stefan asked concern shining in his eyes.
"Oh! nothing just family problems," she replied, giving him a small smile although she still looked hurt. And Julia hated the oncoming guilt that crashed on her.
" I brought it," Stefan said, changing the topic, "Told you."
'What they talked?' Julia thought as she tried to get a closer look at whatever he was giving her.
"Wuthering Heights by Ellis Bell." Elena said with admiration, "You know, I can't believe she didn't use her real name."
"Uh, all the Bronte sisters used Pseudonyms. It was the time, Female writers weren't very accepted then," he replied still looking at her adoringly.
'Can't someone look at me like that, it her, it's always her.' Julia thought bitterly
She had no intention of seeing any more of their relationship so she pushed past Elena, sending her tumbling into Stefan, who caught her easily and rushed out of the gates. She will talk to Matt, ya about Vicki, it is better than counting her misfortunes. Elena and Stefan spend some more time together before she went to find Caroline and on not finding her, she decided to spend some time with Tyler. All was well until Jeremy approached them or Tyler specifically,
"Hey, Tyler. I am sorry to interrupt. I was just wondering how, uh, Vicki's doing, since you guys are so close. Is-is she okay ." he mocked
"She's fine. Now get out of here," he said glancing at Elena.
" How bad is she? Is she... Do they know what attacked her?" he said firing questions one after another.
They both started arguing and Elena watched her best friend and brother with her head in her hands when she finally decided to intervene when Jeremy started making threats,
" Kill him, Jeremy, really do it right now right here, No do it what's stopping you, huh," she said
" Stay away Elena," Jeremy said looking at her, a hint of warning in his tone.
" Really what are you gonna do huh? Kill me," she mocked " Honestly you both are pathetic, fighting over a girl.."
She shook her head when Tyler started to protest,
" Please stop Ty, what you did yesterday was wrong, I didn't say anything then because you were drunk, and excuses could only go so far, the same goes for you," she said turning towards her brother," Vicki is grown-up, fully capable of making her own decisions, if she chooses Tyler it's her choice, you can court her as much as you want, keep giving her drugs, but it is very stupid to fight among yourselves, especially because she is playing you; both of you, she is using you as a backup option Jer as soon as Tyler dumps her or she comes to her senses and dumps him, she will go running back to you, and when she does remember she is using you to make her not feel insecure and honestly it's kind of pathetic Tyler of how you are indulging and picking fights just because you can and over a girl who means almost nothing to you and playing with her feelings just because you can." and with that, she walked away leaving the two boys staring after her.
" The doctor said that if there was no infection then she would be free to come home tomorrow," Matt told Julia as they walked side by side.
" Well, that's the first good thing I have heard throughout the day," Julia replied.
"Bad day, huh," he asked.
At her sigh and nod, Matt said,
"Well, you are not the only one."
"So, did Vicki say anything about the animal that attacked her?" Julia asked, just to keep the attention off her sad life.
" Yes, she was rather strange about it."
"Well, nothing new there," she commented not noticing the look Matt gave her.
" She said it was a Vampire."
" Vicki Donovan has officially lost it." she said after a pause.
"Hey! that's my sister." Julia looked around to see Matt's expression and hastened a quick apology.
"Oh, I..," But Matt cut her off,
"No, it's okay, I was under some stress, I overreacted, it's not a problem, that's just how you are." He said waving his hand as if it didn't matter, but she could see she had offended him as he turned around, without a goodbye. It was only when he left that she whispered brokenly,
"How am I, Matt? Is there something wrong with me? How do I fix it? How do I fix me?" but she received no answer.
After school, Bonnie, Caroline, Elena went to the Grill. Bonnie apparently had not given up with the witch stuff.
"Well, I was talking to Grams, and she said the comet is a sign of impending doom. The last time it passed over Mystic Falls, there was lots of death. So much blood and carnage, it created a bed of paranormal activity," Bonnie told them.
"Yeah, and then you poured Grams another shot and she told you about the aliens," Caroline said as she turned to Elena, who had told the girls about her and Stefan's long chat last night. "So then what?"
"So then nothing."
"You and Stefan talked all night? There was no sloppy first kiss or touchy-feely of any kind?" Caroline pressed.
"Nope. We didn't go there," Elena said.
"Not even a handshake? I mean, Elena, we're your friends, okay? You are supposed to share the smut!"
Elena shrugged. "We just talked for hours."
"Okay, what is with the blockage? Just jump his bones already! It's easy. Boy likes girl, girl likes boy, sex!"
She rolled her eyes. "Profound," Elena said, standing up.
"Where are you going?" Bonnie asked her.
"Caroline's right," Elena stated confidently. "It is easy. If I sit here long enough, I'll end up talking myself out of it instead of doing what I started the day saying what I was going to do." And as she made her way towards the Salvatore boarding house, she didn't realize that she was setting the events of centuries before into motion. And as for Julia, she simply chose to walk to her parents' grave intending to have a heart to heart with her mother, just like she used to when her mother was alive and well.
Julia had decided to walk to the cemetery, walking oftentimes had been an excuse for her to simply collect her thoughts and analyze them, but now as tried to look into the deeper corners of her mind for hope, she realized that she had lost it when she had seen Stefan and Elena talking to each other, there was a time when she was not this insecure, bitter and Jealous girl, there was a time when the Gilbert twins had a close and seemingly unbreakable bond when both of them used to have nicknames for each other that they had declared as their twin thing, Jules and Lena. Julia had not called Elena that since she was twelve but Elena had continued t\o be stubborn and had stuck with calling her Jules, even after her admission that she hated it, she really didn't. It had all started when her first crush Liam Peterson had asked her on a date on her 12th birthday, She, Elena, Bonnie, and Caroline had giggled endlessly after the party was over and made her promise to share every little detail of her date and if it happened her first kiss, her father had apparently heard them and had thrown a fit over daughter going out at them as he put it, 'tender age of twelve with an older boy' Like seriously he was only a year older than her.
After much begging, crying and threats by her, her father had refused to budge even her mother's gentle coaxing word had no effect on him, she had refused to call him and cancel her date and had smashed a vase in her room before crying. Elena had come there to her brought her chocolate ice cream, switched on her favorite movie, and promised that she would ask dad to let her go, she remembers protesting saying that if he did not agree to her wish then why would he agree to Elena's; he loved both of them equally right, even if when Grayson and Julia were alone in the same room it got a little bit awkward, but Elena had just smiled went to their dad and after ten minutes she came with the news that Dad had permitted her to go, provided he had a bit of chat with the boy before leaving. Julia remembers squealing and hugging her twin but she also remembers the thought that had crossed her mind right before going to sleep,
'Why did he said yes to her and not me?'
The first few dates with Liam had gone amazing to the point that she had thought that he was the one, till she noticed a pattern in them he always seemed to peak up whenever she mentioned her family, particularly Elena or shall she only Elena, when she had first questioned him tactfully, toe then what she thought was tact, he had merely replied,
" Oh I am aware of how close you and your sister are and if we were to last then I would rather get to know the family right."
She had been secretly thrilled, it meant that he was interested in her right, that he thought that they would last right, wrong. It turns out that he was not even interested in her, he was doing all this to get close to her sister, she had once checked his phone when he had by mistake left it open and had been horrified and heartbroken to see the many photos that he had of Elena from when she was ten to this date, there were photos of her eating, smiling, laughing, reading and more and more and this time when she had confronted him, he had confessed that he was only dating her to get close to Elena and win her heart, win the heart of the person to whom his affections truly lied. He had decided to win the heart of her sister, while simultaneously breaking hers.
And typical Julia had confronted Elena write away about this and had placed the blame not on the person who deserved it but actually on her twin, and sweet Elena had although claimed ignorance over the fact that he was using Julia had admitted that he had asked her out four months prior to their birthday and she had turned him down knowing that Julia liked him and the only person she had told this before now was to their mother. And Julia being Julia had screamed at her throwing all of her fears and insecurities straight at her face which had left Elena to near tears as she had afterward immediately fled from the scene after which Julia herself had started to destroy her room, throwing her books from the bookshelf, spilling water on her bed and overall destroying her room including breaking the windowpanes, her parents undeniably had been more than a bit cross and she although she had been grounded for two whole weeks, Elena had been coddled with.
The sisters had not talked for two days although at a few times it looked as if Elena really wanted to but was too stubborn to give in, in the end, it was their father who had solved the fight between the two or at least tried to as Elena had entered her room, where Julia was still sulking and was maybe still feeling insecure, with a tub of ice cream and CDs saying movie night and Julia had screamed, " Go away, bitch." for which her father had taken all her electronics increased the grounding to a week more while he went off to comfort his favorite daughter while her mother had decided to talk with her before checking up on Elena, the grounding hadn't caused her that much pain that the disappointed look, that was now permanently seen on her fathers face whenever he looked at her, had caused. And it felt like someone was puncturing her heart over and over again with needles when she used to see the proud look that he would give to Jeremy and Elena, Elena.
She and Jeremy always had a complicated relationship, for one thing, Julia hated younger people or children, she was sure that she would never have kids of her own cause she had no plans of ever becoming a mother, even as a child she had found playing with Jeremy a boring task and something she only indulges in to please her parents whereas Elena had been pleased in the attention of her younger brother, pleading with her parents to let her hold him and promising over and over again that she would be the best big sister in the world to which they would smile at her. Julia had hated him on sight because she thought that he was stealing her and Elena's twin time and had told her parents so, which understandably had put them in a rather awkward position. She and Jeremy had honestly no relationship at all as they never really had a connection, to begin with, and so they were mere strangers that had lived together their whole lives joined with three tapes their parents and sister, two of which had already been ripped apart.
She was so lost in her thoughts that she did not saw where she was going and collided with a stranger because of which she lost her balance and fell to the ground and looked up to lock gazes with another amused set of blue eyes which belonged to none other than a rather handsome stranger with Jet black hair and a melodious voice,
"Hello, sweetheart. Are you lost?"
Guess who the man is? And tell me in the reviews.
