3 HOURS INTO THE CLEANSE

-The Happy Hotel

"Shit Princess, why are you so damn nice?" This remark coming from Angel Dust, as Charlie and Vaggie decided to join their friends at the bar.

"Angel, stop." Said Vaggie.

"I'm just saying, she's the only one who consistently cares about these assholes who are currently getting spears shoved up their asses," Angel responded while receiving a death glare from Vaggie.

Charlie didn't seem to be listening to what Angel was saying, as now he and Vaggie were getting into their usual arguments. Charlie just continued to sit at the bar with her head rested on her fist. As for right now, she was lost in thought.

"WHAT A GOOD SHOW!" a voice yelled out while laughing. This sudden yell caused everyone to jump as it came from Alastor as made his way over to the bar.

"For fuck sake's Al, we seriously need to put a bell on you." As Angel was very tired of all the time's Al would appear out of nowhere and scare the life outta him.

"That's something we can both agree on." Said Vaggie.

"The hell is wrong with you? I know your usually excited for the cleanse but you seem more cheerful than normal." As Husk asked him. As he had known Alastor for a while now, and he knew how much he loved to see the citizens of Hell being slaughtered.

"You are correct my feline friend. It seems all that alcohol consumption has not taken away your quick wits." He responded with a pep in his step.

"Lack of is more like it." As Husk said while immediately reaching for more booze.

"So, Bambi care to tell us what has your cock in a twist?" Asked Angel as he mocked him for his deer-like stature.

"If you must know, I saw something that I have never truly seen during Extermination day." He explained. "While I was watching these poor souls being mutilated, I noticed a blue light, and out from it came a man. But this man looked was a human."

"Bullshit." Yelled Husk. "You mean to tell me you saw a human in Hell? How can that be possible?"

"I promise you my dear friend I am not lying. This man was no demon." As Alastor continued to explain. "I took my time to watch him, while he walked through the streets of Hell, as I undoubtedly thought he would be killed as well. But I was very, oh very wrong. An exorcist attacked him, and he killed it with ease. More and more of them attacked the man and he eliminated all of them."

"You're saying that there's some jackoff out there killing those bastards on his own?" "I find that hard to believe." Angel really couldn't tell if Alastor was in fact "bullshitting" him.

"Believe it, my effeminate fellow. This man has probably killed hundreds of them by now, as had even saved multiple demons as well." He responded.

"Wait," as now Charlie, who had been quiet through this whole conversation, decided to step in.

"Al, are you saying there is someone out there killing those Exterminators, and saving the lives of my people?" As she said with some doubts. Because this was hell after all, and she didn't expect someone to risk their life to save people.

"After all we've been through, would you think I would lie to you here?" Asked Alastor.

"YES." Vaggie, Angel, and Husk all said in unison.

"I promise you I am not lying to you about this my dear. And besides, you all will most likely hear about him when the cleanse is over." Said Alastor.

Charlie was rather confident that Alastor wasn't lying to her. And he did make a good point about all they've been through. But of course, Charlie always saw the good side in people, so she believed him 100%.

Now her mood changed. She was filled with joy and also hope that someone was out there saving her people, giving them another chance at life. She now couldn't wait for the cleanse to be over as she had to see this man for herself.

10 HOURS INTO THE CLEANSE

Elsewhere in Hell

"RIP AND TEAR UNTIL IT IS DONE"

The only words playing on repeat in The Slayer's head as he was mowing down any Exterminator he saw. He lived by that phrase. Because these Exterminators attacked him, he saw it as his mission to eliminate them all. It had been hours upon hours now since the Slayer had begun his assault, and through it all, he never even broke a sweat. The Slayer had the power and strength of a God. He never tired, never hungered, never grew ill, never stopped.

"Whatever these beings are, they do not seem to stop coming in more numbers," VEGA told the Slayer via his helmet.

That wouldn't stop the Slayer, he would continue fighting until he reached his end goal.

The Slayer now decided to take a higher approach to his fighting. He walked over to a nearby building and began to scale it. This building was around six stories tall and was made up of brick. The Slayer would use the window ledges and also the fire escapes to make his way up to the top. When he reached the top, he walked over to the side of the building, where he was able to get a solid view of the landscape around him. He then summoned his Heavy Cannon and added his precision bolt attachment which acted as a sniper rifle. Using the scope, he looked across the distance to see more of this Hell, while of course, blasting Exterminators out of the sky with each shot.

He then focused his sights on a big clock tower. What caught his eye, was the words...

NEXT CLEANSE

0 0 0

That helped explain to him and also VEGA what was happening and why.

"I see. So right now, we are sitting in the middle of a cleanse. It does not seem as these demons are killing each other, rather they are being killed by the heavens." Said VEGA. "I'm sorry, as I cannot tell you why this is happening, and any more information about this Hell. I have been logging as much as I can in the Codex. I would recommend contacting Dr. Hayden, as he might have an answer to where we really are."

The Slayer agreed with the idea of contacting Samuel Hayden, even though their history together wasn't the greatest.

The Slayer decided to get right back into the fight as he leaped from the building and began his onslaught once more.

Pentagram City

"Dude get your ass over here, you gotta see this!" The demon said in excitement while he watched the powerful Doom Slayer gun down Exterminators by the second.

"MAN, what the fuck are you doing near the window Mac, that's like rule number one of not to do doing the motherfuckin cleanse." As another demon said while entering the room.

Looking through any window is frowned upon because your best chance of survival during Extermination Day was to stay completely hidden from all Exterminators.

"I'm well fucking aware of that TJ, but the shit I'm seeing right now makes it worth taking the risk," said Mac.

"Man get the hell out of the way," TJ said while shoving him so he could see. "I swear your like a damn schoolgirl... Holy shit."

"Who's the schoolgirl now bitch?" Mac responded with a laugh. As TJ's eyes were glued to the window.

"My God, this dude is an animal. And he's attacking them on purpose, not in self-defense."

The Slayer was using his favorite weapon and the weapon that he's had the longest, His super shotgun. His super shotgun was undoubtedly one of the strongest weapons in his arsenal. It took two shells at a time, and the blast can turn a demon into mush if used at very close range.

"Exactly. This dude is a grade-A badass." Mac said.

Mac and TJ were good friends who decided to hunker down in their apartment complex. They thought they might as well stay together, so they could at least talk with one another to pass the time.

"Dude we got to tell Hoffman about this and the others on this floor. They need to witness this for themselves." As this idea popped into Mac's head.

"Are you sure?" TJ questioned, "Like I don't know how keen people will be to the idea of uncovering their windows. What if the Exterminators see them?"

"Uh dude, I'm pretty fucking sure everyone around can hear all the gunfire going round. That's kind of hard to ignore. And besides every Exterminator in the area is probably more focused on this behemoth of a man outside killing them by the second." Said Mac.

TJ couldn't deny that Mac made a good point there. So, he gave in to the idea.

"Alright fine let's do it."

They immediately picked up their phones and called everyone they knew to tell them the news.

Kingdom of Hell

...

TICK-TOCK

TICK-TOCK

TICK-TOCK

The only noise Lucifer could hear, as he sat quietly at his desk in his office. The grandfather clock continuing to tick. The yearly cleanse was something he was far too familiar with. Unlike his daughter, he was not bothered by it. He and his daughter shared very different personalities. Lucifer is the devil, he is Satan, the king of all evil. He cared little of the well-being of the humans sent down here as they were brought to hell for a reason. While of course, his daughter caring about the well-being of everyone.

Lucifer did not have the appearance of what most would be considered "The Devil."

Lucifer wears a white suit, a black bowtie, and a red undershirt. At most times he wears a white hat, with a purple snake and red apple on the brim. His hair; a very bright blonde. His entire body was the color of pure white, with red cheeks, just like his daughter.

Lucifer would consistently think about the way Charlie acted toward others. It was very strange. He would also think that if she hadn't been born in Hell, she would have never gone to Hell at all. Charlie told him of her ideas to open a brand-new hotel to redeem the sinners of Hell. But Lucifer's reaction was unpleasant. He shot down the idea in an instant, he told Charlie that only a fool would come up with such nonsense. He tried with every effort to push Charlie away from this idea, and more towards the idea of being the Princess of Hell. Of course, Charlie was just as stubborn as her old man, and she wouldn't listen to him and had her mindset completely on the process of the hotel. This made Lucifer very angry at her, and their relationship since then was not good.

Lucifer would suddenly snap back to reality when he heard the sounds of footsteps growing louder and louder as they neared his door.

"LORD LUCIFER, LORD LUCIFER!" As one of his trusted associates shouted while bursting through the door.

"I would highly recommend you knock before barging into my studies," Lucifer said sternly.

"My apologies my lord, I just have urgent information that I must share with you." his associate cried out.

"Well alright then, out with it." Said Lucifer.

"There is someone out there fighting back against the Exterminators, people say he's a new overlord, but he looks like an actual human." He explained.

"What in god's name do you mean by that?" Lucifer questioned. "No human can enter this realm, without having died first."

"I promise you, my lord, this is what countless people have said, all across Hell. They first hand have witnessed the destruction he has been causing." he was growing nervous as he didn't want to seem like he was deceiving the literal King of Hell.

This cannot be possible... Lucifer thought to himself, unless someone from in my circle brought him here in secret. As now Lucifer's temper was starting to grow, as everyone knew what would happen if you went behind the King's back.

They would be slaughtered by Lucifer himself.

"Go find out whatever you can about this mortal man, and why he's here and how," Lucifer demanded. "I will need to do my own digging as well."

"Yes, Lord Lucifer." He said while scurrying out of the room.

Lucifer got up from his seat and walked over to the window. Pulling open the blinds to look at the outside world. While he was looking his gaze went upwards. As he saw the bright red-lit sky, it made him think of the world above him.

Heaven.

Maybe I should summon my brother Gabriel. He may have an answer for me, As Lucifer thought with a sigh, But I haven't spoken with my family since I was cast out of Heaven.

He shut his eyes to really think about this decision. He didn't know if he could speak to them after all this time.

But if what the people of Hell are saying is true, then this mortal man could be a threat to him and his Kingdom.
