The day of the wedding arrived before anyone knew it. As Liv was getting ready she started to get excited about everything. She was excited to watch Fin get married, excited about her date with Edgar, just excited to cut loose and have a good time.

She hadn't heard from Elliot since they texted that night and she knew that Fin had something to do with it. They both skated around the topic at work but she knows that he told Elliot to lay low. It didn't matter. She refused to let Elliot ruin this for her. She looked at the clock by her bed, almost time. She was putting her heels on when she heard a knock at the door. She looked at herself in the mirror and then went to answer it.

Edgar stood there in a form fitting three piece suit and a beautiful bouquet of pink roses. She smiled back at him, "Well hello! These are beautiful, please come in. I'm just finishing up." She opened the door wider so he could come in and took the flowers from him. She leaned down to smell them as she shut the door.

"You look beautiful. Anything I can do to help?"

She walked into the kitchen and got a vase down. She was filling it with water when she said, "actually yes, can you zip the back of my dress? I usually have Noah do it but he is staying at his nanny's tonight." She placed the flowers in the vase, wait, why did she tell him that? Was he going to expect anything after the wedding? She basically told him he was going to be alone tonight.

"Sure."

She felt him walk behind her. He was so close she could smell his cologne. It was very manly but subtle. She felt him gently clasp the zipper and his other hand held the fabric right above her ass. Shit. She gulped as she felt his finger brush her skin once it was completely zipped. She turned to face him as his took a step back. He really was a handsome man. She felt her face blush slightly, "thank you." She felt like a fool. It had obviously been too long since she went on a date. How could she be turned on by him barely touching her skin? Get it together Liv.

"Should we go? I have a car waiting downstairs." He smiled at her and held out his arm.

She nodded and grabbed his arm and her small clutch off the counter top. This just got very interesting.

Elliot arrived at the wedding alone. He adjusted his suit as he made his way to the only familiar face he saw. Munch looked exactly the same. Elliot shook his hand and slapped him on the shoulder. "Munch, my man, how have you been?"

"Elliot Stabler as I live and breathe. I didn't know if you were ever going to grace us with your presence again. I heard about your wife, I am really sorry."

Elliot nodded and stood straighter, letting his hand drop, grasping his hands behind his back. At least he wouldn't have to deal with too many more of those tonight. He scanned the group before they started to head in to sit down.

"She's not here yet." Munch said simply as he walked next to him.

"Who?" Elliot turned and smiled at Munch.

"Who?" Munch mocked. "A certain brunette that has had your undivided attention it seems for 22 years." Munch patted Elliot roughly on the shoulder before sitting down.

Once Elliot sat down he felt a hand on his shoulder. He glanced up to see Olivia smiling down at him. His breath caught in his throat and his chest felt tight. She looked stunning. Her floral dress hugged all of her curves and her hair was down and straight. She had more make up on than he was used to seeing her in and she had strappy heels on that showed her manicured toes. "Hello boys." She grinned and stepped back as Munch stood to give her a small hug. Elliot waited until Munch moved back to stand. He didn't know what his next move was supposed to be, so he just curtly nodded at her. She looked at him with a look of confusion her face before turning back to Munch.

"Olivia you look as enchanting as ever." Munch smiled at her and wiggled his eyebrows. Elliot felt Munch elbow him slightly, urging him to say anything.

Elliot turned and looked to the side at the man standing next to her. Damn, Fin was right, he was tall. He instinctively stood taller and looked back down to Olivia.

Olivia turned towards her date, "where are my manners? Edgar this is John and Elliot, I used to work with both of them until they abandoned me."

Elliot noticed she said the last statement with a smile plastered to her face but could see she meant her words as she said them. Elliot watched as Munch shook his hand. Edgar held his hand out to Elliot who hesitated. Elliot looked up at Olivias date who he already disliked and slowly shook his hand, his grip a little harder than he attended. He watched as Edgars eyes opened slightly, then as a slow smile formed on the mans face. Elliot released his hand and watched as Edgar snaked his hand around Olivias waist.

"We should go get a seat Olivia. I know you are supposed to seat up in the front." Elliot noticed that Edgar never broke eye contact with him as he spoke to her.

Elliot watched as Olivia looked between both of them. Finally, her eyes narrowed at Elliot.

"Yes of course. I'm sure Amanda is saving us a seat, oh yes she's waving at us now. See you later guys." With a little wave they were off.

Elliot sit back down with a huff. This is not how he wanted this evening to go. Apparently Olivias date decided to fight back which he did not expect. According to Fin they didn't know each other that well but Elliot had a feeling he wanted to know her very well.

"Unclench Elliot. Maybe you can get a dance in later. You clearly need to head to the open bar as soon as the 'I do's' are over." Munch shook his head slightly at Elliot.

Elliot sat with his back straight as a board, "I have no idea what you are talking about John."

Munch made a scuffing noise in the back of his throat. "Elliot, it's time for you to get a grip. You two have danced this dance too long. The rest of us want off the ride."

Elliot stared straight ahead during the whole ceremony. Fin seemed very happy, it was nice to see, but mostly he stared at the back of Olivias head. He watched as her date leaned down close to her ear and said something that made her laugh. He watched her grab his arm when Fin and his new bride kissed. Munch was right he really did need a drink.

Once the ceremony was over Elliot bee lined it to the open bar and ordered a scotch on the rocks. Once his drink arrived he walked over to Munch who was congratulating the happy couple. Elliot slapped Fin on the shoulder, "congrats man!" He smiled at Fins new wife, "everything turned out beautiful."

Fin smiled and nodded at Elliot and noticed Olivia and her date as well as the rest of the squad heading their way. Phoebe smiled and thanked everyone for their congratulations and moved down the line to the next group of people. Fin walked over and hugged Olivia before following Phoebe.

Olivia held Elliots gaze. He looked very handsome tonight. She felt the heat of Edgars hand on her lower back and suddenly felt the urge to step away. She held her ground however, she was determined to not let Elliot get his way.

"Earth to Liv? Olivia did you hear what I said?"

Olivia turned quickly to Amanda and felt her face heat up, "I'm sorry, what did you say?"

Amanda turned her gaze to Elliot who had a small smile on his face before he turned to carry on a conversation with Munch. Amanda cleared her throat and turned back to Olivia, "I asked if you wanted to go get a drink with me?"

"Oh yes sure. Edgar do you want anything?" She turned her position to look up at him.

"Yea can you get me a Stella?" He smiled at her and dropped his hand from her back.

She nodded as she watched Carisi start a conversation with him and followed Amanda to the bar. As always she could feel Elliots gaze on her as she walked away.

"Liv, pick a man already." Amanda chuckled as she ordered a cocktail.

Liv turned and raised her eyebrows at Amanda. "I'm not sure what you mean." She turned and ordered her wine and a Stella for Edgar. She purposely tried to not glance over to Amanda as she waited for her drinks.

"Liv, I know you and Stabler have a thing or whatever 'it was complicated' means, but you are here with Edgar, are you not?" Amanda smiled slightly at her to soften her words.

Olivia turned to face Amanda with a drink in each hand. "Pot calling the kettle black Amanda." She didn't wait for her to deny it. "Take my advice, don't wait 22 years to decide if you want to try and make it work with Carisi. You have nothing stopping you or standing in your way. No one is married." She straighten her back slightly. "And that's all I am going to say on the topic. Let's just have a good night and see what happens." She started walking back to the group, leaving Amanda to her thoughts, knowing she would follow in a second.

The night went relative smooth and everyone was on their best behaviors. Edgar was charming and easy to talk too, she found herself having a great time. Munch liked to talked about the 'good old days' and every time he brought it up Olivia was on edge.

"You should have seen us back then, a real rat pack of crime fighting." Munch started to sway with his words. Fin raised his eyebrows at him and steadied him with a hand on his shoulder.

"Munch, man, are you drunk?" Fin chuckled as he said it, turning to Olivia.

Olivia felt like her squad was glued to every word Munch said and started feeling more uncomfortable. "Munch, you talk to much." Her voice had taken a harder tone than she attended it too.

Munch noticed and decided now was his moment. "Listen captain,"

Oh shit, Olivia thought, this might sting.

"if we all had to deal with you and Stabler doing the emotional tango every week, you can handle my stories." Munch looked at her over his glasses as she straightened and looked at Elliot. "De-NILE isn't just a river in Egypt."

Elliot smiled at Olivias discomfort and watched as her date reacted slightly and turned his eyes to Elliot.

Fin grabbed Munch by the back of his neck gently and said, "Oh John, there was a fine woman I wanted to introduce you too. Elliot, you too."

Fin did not appear to be in the mood for an argument so they both followed him with no complaint.

Olivia stiffly took a sip of her drink.

Edgar cleared his throat, "So, you and Stabler were a thing back in the day?"

Olivia groaned. Damnit Munch! "Actually, no we weren't. He was married, he was just widowed recently. People talk too much." She drank the last bit of her wine. "Would you mind getting me about her glass?" Edgar nodded and walked away.

Since it was the end of the night Elliot decided it was time to ask Olivia to dance. It was now or never and he didn't want this moment to hold her to go to waste. He watched as Edgar walked to the bar and headed towards her and asked, holding his hand out. She smiled at him and gave him a tense "of course." Olivia took his hand and followed him out of the floor.

Elliot placed one hand on her hip and held her other hand while she placed her other hand on his upper arm. It felt stiff and unnatural but he didn't want to push her. "Having fun?"

They swayed to the slow music as she looked up at him after his question. "You know what? I actually am. This whole thing has been so nice. It's a beautiful wedding."

He felt her move her hand from his upper arm and snake it around his waist until it rested on his lower back, she placed her head down on his chest. He was still for a moment, scared to spook her. This is the first time he has felt her truly relax with him, he didn't want to ruin it. "I'm glad. You look beautiful."

She smiled into his chest. Maybe this would be fine, they had danced this dance for years before he left. Sure they crossed a small line but they could go back, it didn't have to be awful. She felt his chin drop to the top of her head, it felt oddly comforting. "You don't look so bad yourself. Who knew you could clean up so well."

He heard the laughter in her voice and smiled. He decided to just enjoy the dance. They could answer questions of who and what they were to each other later. He placed a small amount of pressure on her lower back and was surprised when she stepped in closer to him without a fight. She felt so damn wonderful in his arms. The few times they hugged as partners didn't come close to the excellence of this moment.

When the music ended he looked down at her as she lifted her head and looked up at him. They were so incredibly close, all he had to do is lean his head down to kiss her. He watched her eyes move to his lips and knew she was thinking the same thing. He moved his face towards her and watched her close her eyes. He tilted his head to whisper in her ear, "your date seems to want you back and I don't blame him one bit, you look incredibly sexy tonight." He straightened back up and watched her face turn an adorable crimson, he couldn't resist and bent down, kissing her on the cheek before he felt a tap on his shoulder. He released Liv reluctantly and turned to find the blonde detective smiling at him, "mind if I cut in?" He nodded and awkwardly took her in his arms.

"Amanda right?"

She nodded. "Yup that's me. Enjoying your night?"

Something about the tone of her voice grabbed his attention. He looked down at her and watched her forced smile. "Yes. Are you?"

"Let's cut the crap ok? I took you for a straight shooter so let's just have a candid conversation." She continued to smile as she spoke.

Elliot grinned at her. He was wondering how long someone from Olivias new squad would come confront him, he had his money on the young brunette though. "Alright, what is it you want to say?"

"Look, I don't know you and you don't know me, but Liv is obviously important to both of us. I won't pretend to know your relationship, that was before my time, I only know what I've heard and I want you to think carefully before you make promises you don't intend to keep. She has been though enough without you coming back and breaking her." Her hand tightened in his. "We understand each other?"

Elliot decided to twirl her away from his as he thought about her statement. She twirled back against him, while he thought about how to respond.

"You know, there was a time when the name Stabler was always linked to Benson."

Before he could finish she cut him off, "well that surely isn't the case any longer is it?"

He nodded slowly. "No it's not. It's complicated."

Amanda sighed heavily and rolled her eyes. "So I've heard, look if you don't plan to make her deliriously happy then you should just walk away now." The song ended and she dropped her hands and left the dance floor.

Elliot stood rooted in his spot and watched her walk away. His eyes met Olivias across the room. She was wearing her dates suit jacket and he had his arm around her shoulders while he talked to the group. She cocked her head questioningly at him. He gave her a small, tense smile and nodded before he walked off the dance floor and away from her.

Liv watched him walk away and a sudden urge to follow him hit her, but she stayed rooted in place. Edgars arm felt heavy on her shoulders and she was ready to go. Everyone had started to disperse in different directions, she looked up at Edgar and smiled at him, "you ready?"
