We walk through the door pushing three am and I'm hoping Hailey's already asleep but she's not. She walks into the foyer as JJ glances her before looking down. She's barely awake with her painkillers in her.

"We're going to head to the room." I state before Hailey can say something.

"Aaron we need to talk." She stops us from moving.

"She's on watch and she has painkillers in her. I'm going to get her settled in and we can talk in the morning." I state sternly before turning to JJ.

"Come on, the bedroom is upstairs." I softly smile putting my hand behind her. Hailey sighs before walking away. I guide JJ to the room and get her into the bed before sitting down on the couch. It's going to be okay. We and her are going to be okay. I start to close my eyes right as Hailey walks in.

"Derek got into a fight at the community center and Emily abruptly left her therapy session yesterday." She states irritated. I sigh rubbing my eyes.

"I'll talk to Derek. We know Emily has her rough days. Maybe having a younger girl in the house will help her." I state as JJ turns in her sleep.

"Aaron this isn't permanent." She snaps.

"Why are you so against taking in another kid?! Hailey we don't leave a kid behind especially one in her situation!" I snap a little louder than I expected.

"I'm not fighting with you on this tonight. I'll see you in the morning." She states leaving as I lean back. I try to close my eyes after a while just as JJ tossing alerts me. JJ jumps up and her eyes shoot open.

"JJ you're okay. You're in a safe place." I state softly as she darts her eyes around before jumping out of the bed and tries to dart out of the room but I grab her and wrap my arms around her.

"Shh it's okay. You're okay and nothing is going to happen." I whisper as she thrashes in my arms.

"NO NO LET ME GO. I NEED TO FIND MILO!" She screams collapsing in my arms.

"Shh I know sweetheart. You're okay." I whisper guiding us to the ground.

"Roz." She sobs as I feel tears form in my eyes. That's her sisters name. Her file said she was the one who found her at the tender age of eleven.

"I couldn't. I should have.."

"Shh just breathe." I whisper running my hand through her hair. I see the hall light flicker on knowing one or more of the kids are awake now. I hear Hailey tell them to go back to sleep but Emily refuses.

"Emily Elizabeth go back to bed."

"No. I know you don't want another kid but I know what that girl is probably going through and dad can only do so much so I'm going to check on her." Our seventeen year old snaps. JJ is finally slightly relaxed in my arms. I hear Hailey try to stop her but the door to the guest room slowly opens. JJ tenses slightly. Emily slowly walks in and bends down a few feet in front of us. She looks to me as I whisper JJ's name.

"Hey JJ. I'm Emily." She softly smiles. JJ stares at her before glancing away.

"It's okay JJ." I whisper.

"I heard you've had had a rough past few days. I know that sucks and I know you're in a new and probably scary environment but you're safe here." Emily continues to tell JJ. I can't be prouder of my daughter than in this moment because I know she hasn't done the best with other teenage girls. JJ slightly relaxes and looks at Emily.

"I don't know about you but I would love to get some more sleep before a busy day that tomorrow is going to be for you." She smiles. JJ slowly nods letting me guide her back to the bed. I turn to Emily.

"Thank you hon." I whisper kissing her head.

"It's no problem. I'm going to head back to bed before mom fully loses it on me." She giggles the last part. I smile as she walks out before turning back to JJ. She's curled up in a ball staring straight ahead.

"JJ It's okay. You can go back to sleep." I whisper sitting down on the couch. She shakes her head not moving her eyes. It's five which means the rest of the kids will be up within the next hour or two. I watch her play with the blanket as she eyes fall heavy after awhile. I sigh thankful for the chance to get a little bit of sleep. Today is going to be a busy and stressful day. First with Hailey and the kids and JJ's appointment with Kate. Kate's our friend who's a therapist and nurse who specializes in kids with traumatic backgrounds. All of our kids have gone and go to someone in her practice for weekly therapy.
