Sorry for the wait, hope you enjoy!
After shouting his library of swear words again, he sat down and said to himself, "This has to be some government shit. But why? Why would they test it on their own military personnel?" He had to get to the bottom of it, somehow. "I've got to find a way to get back, but how am I going to do that?" he said, "Maybe I can find some engineer to help me, but, I don't know". Whatever the case, he had to find that device. He really wasn't sure if he wanted to go back there, because he knew what sight would greet him in the cockpit.
When Aang came up to check on him that night, Lt. Bennett told him "I need your help. I need to know how I got here. Can you hook me up with the most talented engineer in the city?" "Yes, I can do that" Aang replied. "One last thing. There was another man in the plane with me." Lt. Bennett said, visually stoic. "Where'd he go? Do we need to find him? Does he need help?" Aang asked quickly, worried. "No" Lt. Bennett answered "All he needs is a coffin.". Aang fell silent. "All I need is for you to get a coffin. I can handle the rest." Lt. Bennett said, still stoic.
The next day, Lt. Bennett left his apartment, and headed toward the shopping district. He visited a clothing designer shop, and made the audacious request of them re-making his navy dress uniform. It would take some time, and some direction, but he would direct them. He headed to a decoratives store and purchased red, white, and blue cloth, for later. Every day, he would go to the clothing shop, and direct them on making his uniform, assuring them that it was for a serious matter, as he understood how strange his request must sound to them. Then, he would go home and cut the cloth into strips of red and white, laying 13 of them crossways, and sewing them. He then laid a large square of blue in the corner. Then he cut out 50 stars and sewed those on the blue square. The flag was done, but the dress uniform would need more time.
After about a week and a half of work, his uniform was finished as well, and it turned out better than he expected. It's eagle atop a US shield with two crossed anchors gleamed on his cap, and his medal rack didn't look too bad. Aang had bought the coffin of course, and finally, it was time to go back.
Lt. Bennett, accompanied by the Gaang (as Aang and his friends called themselves), made their way to the plane. When they got there, Lt. Bennett paused at the door. He was afraid. He looked back at the Gaang, who all assured him, and he stepped inside the wreckage. Looking into the cockpit, he saw Ens. Tarlton, or his now rotting corpse, still sitting, impaled by a metal rod. It took some effort, but his body was eventually pulled out, and laid in the coffin. The coffin was closed, on account of the fact that his body was ugly from rot, and the flag was draped over it. Lt. Bennett dressed into his uniform, and looked upon the coffin. He said, "We couldn't give you full military honors, but we tried our best. Rest in Peace, Tarlton, it was an honor." Lt. Bennett offered a stiff salute, as the coffin was lowered into the hole, which was next to the plane that he loved. Lt. Bennett said to the coffin, "I promise. I'll find a way to get back and prove what the government did. This one's for you."
