This is Part III of the My Gift To You Special. Last time we got a little bit of backstory into the situation Blaze is in, specifically flashing back to see Dragnarok's death firsthand. Now she's set to take over the Element Guard, much to admittedly her own chagrin and nerves. So how's this going to go? Read on to discover...
(Our story resumes in what looks like a conference room of some sort, a large group of dragons gathered around a table. The Element Guard has gathered: Blitz, Tundra, Rokko, Sizzle, Leroy, Twirl, Shade, Hydrar, Bloodtar, Spyro, and Cynder, awaiting Blaze's arrival. And just as soon as they get comfortable, the door opens, revealing the dreamsicle colored dragoness and her parents, Ember and Flame. As the group sits, Blaze opens her journal on the table and starts taking notes, on who's present at the meeting.)
Blaze: Alright, that's attendance taken.
Spyro: Excellent, on to the matter at hand.
Cynder: As we're sure you're all aware, the Element Guard has suffered a tragedy beyond belief, in the loss of it's leader, our son, Dragnarok.
Spyro: However, if I know our son like I think I do, he would want this group to carry on, even if it is without him.
Cynder: As such, the time has come to appoint a new leader for the Guard.
Shade: If I may propose, I could think of nobody better than Dragnarok's second in command in all things. His beloved Blaze.
Sizzle: I second the motion.
Rokko: As do I.
Spyro: Very well then. Blaze, do you have any objections to this nomination?
Blaze: Personally, plenty. But if I know you guys like I think I do, things will fall apart if we don't get a new leader soon. So, for the good of the group, I will not voice them.
Cynder: Very well then. All in favor of appointing Blaze to the leadership of the Element Guard.
All (Except Blaze): Aye.
Spyro: All opposed?
(Nobody says anything)
Cynder: Very well then, the motion is accepted. (To Blaze, slightly morosely) Congratulations, Blaze. You're now the head of the Element Guard. We pass the meeting off to you.
(Just as things set in for Blaze, she sighs and prepares to take charge of the meeting. But just as she does, the same blue energy that surrounded her before returns again and this time it encompasses the entire room)
Blaze: (Seeing all of this) What the...?
Flame: What's happening?!
Spyro, Cynder, and Blaze: (At last recognizing the energy) NOT AGAIN!
(With the energy boiling to a fever pitch, the entire room is encompassed in a bright flash of light, and as it subsides, we see the entire group has vanished. As the dust settles, we transition to what looks like a warehouse of some kind, where three figures stand by a strange machine. Well, two are standing, one is kind of floating above the floor. One figure, clad in red appears to be operating the machine. Only in it's light do we really see who is all there)
Supergirl: Please tell me this thing is working.
Flash: It's been years since this thing was activated, and I can only hope my lightspeed repairs worked, since Bruce never shared the blueprints with... anyone.
Catwoman: Just in character for him. Especially in recent years.
(Just as things appear hopeless for our intrepid trio, the room suddenly fills with blue light, indicating the machine is working)
Flash: Looks like we managed to get it right!
(But just as the blue energy starts to form into the shape of a portal, it suddenly turns red)
Catwoman: (Panicking) Flash, why is it turning red?!
Flash: I have no idea!
(The now red energy condenses into a portal, with arcs of red lightning refracting off of it in at least 11 or 12 different directions. Just as it appears to be at it's worst, the portal explodes, depositing a familiar band of dragons into the center of the room, notably confused, just as the machine that summoned them here sparks out.)
Flash: I can't believe it. It actually worked!
Blitz: What the...? Where are we?
(As the team looks around, Blaze suddenly sets eyes on Flash, and suddenly the memories come flooding back to her)
Blaze: (Seeing Flash) Barry?
Flash: Blaze! Good to see you again!
(As Flash walks up to try and exchange friendly greetings, Blaze socks him in the face, knocking him to the ground)
Blaze: What the hell have you done?!
Flash: (Getting up to a sitting position after the blow) After everything, I probably deserved that.
Blaze: Doesn't answer my question. Why have you pulled us back here?! I thought Superman was still locked...
(At this point, Blaze sees Supergirl, and recognizes the familiar crest of the House of El on her suit)
Blaze: There's another one?!
(Now, without hesitation, Blaze leaps at Supergirl, knocking her to the ground. And without hesitation the two get into an all out brawl, with Catwoman trying in vain to pull the dragon off the Kryptonian, only for Blaze to back-hand her before trying to strangle Supergirl.)
Blaze: Do you have any idea what that symbol represents here?!
Supergirl: You think I don't know what Kal has done? I'm trying to remind the world what this symbol once meant: hope.
(At this point, Flash gets involved, using his super speed to separate Blaze and Supergirl and hold them back)
Flash: Now's really not the time to be fighting amongst ourselves. (To Blaze) I can explain everything.
Blaze: You had better, Flash. Why are you working with another Kryptonian after what Superman did to your world? Why did you call us back here? What is going on here?!
Flash: Trust me when I say, it's a long story.
(And just as Flash is about to tell the story, our tale ends for today)
This concludes Part III of the My Gift To You Special. For the finale, venture to the Mortal Kombat Intros. So, we are finally back in the Injustice World. And it looks like Blaze and company are not too familiar with Supergirl. So what exactly is going on here? Rest assured, an explanation is on the way. You'll just have to tune in next time to see it. So be sure to do that! Same time... same channel!
