Chapter 3: It's got to be the mourning after...

The next morning, Lexi and Skunk sat next to each other at the breakfast table. Ace watched the two of them as they playfully spoon fed each other their cereals. They leaned close to each other to exchange soft words between themselves.

He glanced around to see that Duck, Tek, Rev and Slam were paying attention to them as well. Slam wasn't even trying to hide the fact he was staring.

Getting out of his chair, he pretended he walked by before he stopped between them and picked up the box of cereal.

"Foghorn's Genuine Artificial Imitation Chili Puffs?" he asked, "Huh, I wonder if it's any good..."

"Meh..." said Lexi as Skunk shoved a spoonful into her mouth.

When he glanced at Lexi, Skunk tapped him on the shoulder.

"Yeah, Skunk?" he asked as he turned back, "Whatcha... MmMpPpHhH?!"

Skunk had placed her hand behind his head and kissed him mouth to mouth.

"Well that's a different way to share cereal," mused Tek.

He didn't notice the way Rev look at Skunk, and then looked over at Tek like he was getting an idea.

After a moment, the two parted.

"Well the cereal is mediocre," panted Ace, "but the delivery system is très magnifique."

Skunk smiled. She noticed that Lexi put a spoonful of cereal in her mouth, and guessed what was going to happen next.

"I'm getting queasy over here," muttered Duck, not that anyone was paying attention to him by that point.

Lexi tapped him on the shoulder.

"Hey Lexi, what you do hhmmpphh?!" he asked as he turned his head right into her kiss.

Skunk smiled until the kiss broke up.

"I do know how to feed myself," muttered Ace as he looked into Lexi's eyes.

"Where's the fun in that?" she asked with a twinkle in her eye.

He looked back and forth between the two until he said, "I guess you two slept well last night?"

"Oh yeah," she replied, "Skunk spooned me all night."

Skunk nodded.

"Then she helped me in the shower this morning," she added.

Ace imagined things because he knew just how small the showers in their rooms were. Slam was barely able to close the door on his shower once he got into it. If they were in the shower at the same time, it would have been cozy to say the least.

"I'd tell them to get a room, but they already have one," grumbled Duck.

Lexi and Skunk leaned in to kiss Ace's cheeks from opposite sides. They could tell that Ace blushed a bit from the attention he was receiving.

"Join us, mon ami," purred Skunk.

To Ace's surprise, she looped her hand around his hip and pulled him into her lap.

Ace meeped as he found himself sitting in Skunk's lap as he looked towards Lexi. He stabilized himself by putting an arm around her shoulders.

"Don't you look cozy?" purred Lexi.

"I... I should be..." spluttered Ace.

"I'm sure that you can stay here for a few minutes," said Skunk as she leaned her head into his shoulder.

"Eh... heh..."

"Yeah... I think I have some projects to monitor in the lab," muttered Tek as he stood.

Rev got up as well and followed Tek out of the room.

Lexi stood from her chair.

"Well... isn't this special?" he asked.

"Quite special," she purred as she sat in Ace's lap facing him. Her legs became crossed behind Ace's butt. She wrapped her arms around his chest as she rubbed her nose against his.

"So... uh..." stammered Ace.

"Yeah, I'm outta here," grumbled Duck as he got up and left.

A moment passed quietly.

"I love you..." said Ace, "both of you."

"We both love you too," replied Lexi.

"I'm such a lucky rabbit."
