Devin Devin - Thanks for the recommendation, man. It's still good to see other players enjoying Yakuza: Like a Dragon even if I'm not a fan of the turn-based style
The world blackened out; an all-encompassing void of deafening silence swallowing him and that damn clown standing confidently beside that nerd the moment All Might announced the first match. For a moment, time stood still as Bakugo set his razor-sharp, scathing glare onto that hedgehog head he had quickly come to despise so much, who wouldn't even grace him with a sidelong look in return, choosing to merely stare ahead of him with a look of absolute belief, belief that he could cruise to an easy victory while carrying a dead weight pebble.
Bakugo gnashed his teeth, glare intensifying, 'He's ignoring me. He thinks I'm not worth his time!' Even his thoughts were a scalding heat of immense wrath. Gloved fists clenched tight at his sides, 'I'm going to roast that clown!' A smouldering rage clouded his form clad in a sleeveless black singlet similar to the one he wore in the practical exam but decorated with an orange X, black baggy combat pants lined with green trim, steel shin guards over each of his knees resting above his black boots contrasted by an orange trim and four dots on each boot. Over his wrathful gaze sat a coal-coloured mask, giving him the look of an insane raccoon. Two black and orange hair accessories made to resemble a fiery explosion protruded from the back of his long mask. Two rectangular silver neck guards hung over his shoulders, but most notably, the prize of his costume was two deadly-looking grenade-like gauntlets covering his biceps.
'Kacchan,' Midoriya mused.
For a brief second, he thought his former childhood friend might have been trying to set him on fire with that look given that he often found himself on the receiving ends of Bakugo's wrath, but when he glanced back at him with newfound resolve the explosive blond didn't even acknowledge it, almost as if he was frozen in a trance. It was then that he realized who Bakugo had eyes for, 'That's right. Son-kun restrained Kacchan so easily in front of our entire class when he tried to attack me for not telling him about my Quirk.' A turn of the head revealed Goku's carefree look of silent conviction, causing an awkward smile to cross his face, 'And to make matters worse, Son-kun isn't even looking at him.'
"Son and Bakugo right off the bat, huh?" Sero said, excited anticipation glittering in his stomach like fireworks in the night sky. They had all witnessed the beef brewing between the boys the moment Son scrolled into Class 1-A with Ashido, and they had only seen it intensify once Son effortlessly stopped Bakugo from insulting Midoriya during the Quirk Assessment Test.
Kirishima knocked his hardened fists together, sparks flying, "Hell yeah! There's nothing more manly than an epic brawl between men."
"It's a fated fight between men." Uraraka declared, surprisingly getting into the sports like environment that the mere prospect of Bakugo and Goku colliding had created, firmly clenching a fist in a black and pink skin-tight bodysuit that accentuated the curves of her hips and shapely legs like Mina's own. Shin-high pink boots and a pink visor cast over her head matched well with her suit.
"I'm getting excited," Kaminari smirked, donning a long-sleeved black jacket with a high collar upturned left open and a plain white shirt underneath. A white strip of lightning decorated the sides of Kaminari's jacket, extending into his back and over his collar. Another white line going down his black pants complemented the lightning bolt emblazoned on his jacket. A radio, communication-like device with a long wire cupped his right ear, too.
"Yes, I, too, find myself keen to observe more of Son's capabilities," The short slender lad with a head in the shape of a bird stoically admitted, a long black cape matching his head covering his arms and body.
Mina snickered, "This match is gonna be a piece of cake for my Goku-chan."
Bakugo scowled furiously at her, but she casually dismissed it.
All Might cleared his throat in a gentlemanly manner, "Teams! Follow me to the designated site of combat!" He received two sets of vigorous nods from Midoriya and Iida, a calm nod from Goku and a grump from Bakugo, "The rest of you! Wait here for my return. We shall survey the match from the security room."
"Yes, sensei!" They chorused exuberantly.
The teams and All Might began to disperse, though before Goku could fall in step with them, Mina latched onto him from behind, "Bust out the moves, 'kay!" She requested, snuggling against his cheek.
"Don't worry about that. I intend to," He assured, trademark quiet confidence swelling around his form like a lone breeze. He ran a palm over her arm, tenderly tracing the length of her pink skin to reach her hand before twinning two fingers around hers, which she appreciated, snuggling deeper into his cheek. Goku wasn't one for affections but in his own ways, he could be tender and sweet.
The moment lasted only a few seconds before Mina slipped off his back, seeing him off with a wave, "Shake a leg!"
"Young Son! Are you-? Oh." All Might froze having not caught hair nor hide of the boy's initiation of instant super speed. He just materialized in front of them as though he had teleported, bringing flinches out of them all.
'Such speed! It looks like Aizawa-kun wasn't kidding. I knew of his power from the practical exam but to actually see it in practice is something else to behold.' He inhaled, drawing in through his mouth and out through his nostrils, 'His potential is frightening! As his teacher, it's my job to nurture him to ensure he does not become conceited in his power.'
All Might's cape fluttered in the fabricated breeze as he tossed it over his shoulder, resuming trek once more, "Let us proceed, young men."
Midoriya gawked, 'No way. Could…' He wet his suddenly dry lips, 'Could not even All Might see Son-kun's speed?' Surprising didn't even begin to cover that potential revelation. All Might had always been the picturesque definition of larger than life, the invincible hero basking triumphantly under the sun's brilliant glow, becoming a beacon of hope; a symbol of peace deterring evil villains.
For this titan of a man who had always seemed more god than human to Midoriya to potentially have lost track of Son's movement... well, it was astonishing.
As they fell into step beside their teacher again, Midoriya couldn't keep his eyes off his partner, 'Just what in the world are you, Son-kun?'

A Blind Fury
Moments Later
They stopped off by a sidewalk in front of a four-story building in the artificial city. The hero team consisting of Son Goku and Midoriya Izuku were told to wait by the street rails after being given radio earpieces of which to communicate with All Might while the man himself instructed the villain team of their purpose in this glorified version of cops and robbers, handing them each a map of the layout and their own earpieces.
"You'll be on the top floor," All Might said, speaking low enough so that the hero team didn't overhear them, both of his massive fists wedged against his wide hips, "Your objective is to guard the bomb for fifteen minutes or to capture the hero team inside that same timespan. Don't be afraid to go all out and give It all you got. If things get too dangerous, I'll step in and put a stop to it."
Bakugo let most of what All Might was saying sail over his head until he was given permission to go all out. He smirked savagely at the porcupine-haired monkey boy.
"Thank you, sensei," Iida bowed, "I pledge to do my best even against the seemingly insurmountable mountain that is Son-sama."
Bakugo bristled, "Tch." He uttered, slouching into the open doorway of their chosen base of operations. Iida hurried in after him.
All Might sighed at his abrupt departure. He resolved himself to have a chat with the boy later. He would hate to see such a promising student squander their own potential because of their own poor attitude.
He marched over to Goku and Midoriya, removing two more maps of the building and holding both out to them. Imagine his surprise when Goku gently pushed Midoriya's arm down with a shake of the head.
"Don't worry about it, sensei," He winked, "We don't need that."
Colour him intrigued, "Is that so, young man?" He nodded. He guffawed, "Pray tell, if you don't mind enlightening this old man!"
Goku tapped his temple, cheeky grin widening, "I can just sense 'em."
Oh.
OH.
"I see. You're able to track anyone at will like a bloodhound," All Might rationalized, beady eyes dilating slightly.
"Pretty much."
Another hearty laugh boomed through the vicinity, "It is truly extraordinary for one to possess such a unique and versatile Quirk such as yours, Young Son, and I look forward to seeing what you're capable of."
"I'll do my best!" Goku grinned.
All Might nodded, then proceeded to briefly go over what he told the villain team before instructing them to wait fifteen minutes to infiltrate their stronghold. Following this, he left and headed back to the other students, leaving them to their own thoughts.
'I can't control One for All yet,' Midoriya contemplated, staring at his palm with a pensive frown before clenching it into a fist, 'And my arms still feel like they're going to drop off from today's training. There probably won't be much I can do. I'll just have to rely on Son-kun's Quirk to get us through this.'
Goku's thought process ran along the same lines, "Hang back when Might-sensei gives us the go-ahead to go in." Was his offhand instruction, staring at the open doorway with a look of focus. He looked at Midoriya, giving his slightly befuddled look a gentle smile, "You can't control your Quirk yet. I'd hate to worry your Mom if you go home with more bandages on."
"Right…" The unkempt-haired youngster murmured, lowering his gaze, "I was just thinking the same actually."
A hand fell upon his shoulder like a warm blanket, "Hey, don't be so down about it. You'll get your chance. After you've completed my training!" He smiled gleefully, "Just hafta avoid using your Quirk til' then."
"Right!" Midoriya shared a firm smile of resolve with his sensei, "Thank you, Son-kun."
"Don't mention it."
While he normally detested holding a fight from someone, it was vital that he protected Midoriya from harm's way. From what he could gather, this world didn't possess magical healing beans or anyone like Dende to instantly heal severe injuries that would otherwise be life-threatening. Granny Chiyo may have been the closest thing to an equivalent Dende in this world, but she was nowhere near a direct one. Her Quirk only stimulated the body's own healing process at the cost of one's stamina. She didn't actually rehabilitate people.
If Midoriya were to become dependant on her to speed up his recovery processes, then it could potentially end up having the adverse effect of destroying his own body or even killing him before he even hit his prime years, and that would be such a waste to Son Goku.
The next fifteen minutes were… odd, at least to Midoriya. They flew by as the two conversed about random topics, Midoriya learning Goku loved playing video games with his favourite being Tekken to add the move sets of the characters to his own brand of martial arts and Goku learnt just how much he admired their current sensei, having spent countless hours watching old Wetube videos of All Might.
'It's weird,' Midoriya mused, looking contemplatively into the doorway, trying to conjure the daunting prospect of taking on Bakugo, 'We're up against Kacchan. Iida-kun, too, but I don't feel nervous.' He stared at Goku's placid smile in quiet confidence he exuded in his expression and posture, emitting a feeling of "everything is going to be alright" almost like…
He gasped silently, eyes dilating wide.
'All Might…'
The boy was one iconic catchphrase away from being the man himself.
Midoriya almost felt as though he could visibly hear the catchphrase of Japan's number one hero whistling in the winds.
"Hahahaha! It's fine now. You know why? Because I am here."
But he didn't say anything. Such cheesy phrases like: "We're going to win" were entirely redundant where Son Goku was concerned. Just the way he held himself, with such definitive purpose, in both his posture and expression, conveyed all the reassurances one would ever need to hear otherwise.
He was a man of action. Midoriya could visibly see this.
"Ready!" All Might enthused, booming voice roaring over their earpieces, "Start!"
"Let's go," Goku smirked.
"Right!" Midoriya nodded.
Goku led the way through the entrance, sauntering to his way to the approaching Ki-signature on the higher floors. He had never been one for strategy and stealth and that hadn't changed even now in his second life. Fights just weren't fun if the enemies didn't already know he was coming. His own sense of honour would also never allow him to sneak attack anyone from a blind spot.
They ascended a flight of stairs past the first level of the dimly lit interiors with walls and floors comprised of a hollow metal before coming to a halt at an intersection - Goku thrusting his arm out in a stopping motion, eyes narrowed into an impassive look.
"He's here." Goku declared, drawing a confused utter from Midoriya.
Before he could ask Goku to elaborate, Bakugo came steaming out from their left like a bull who had just seen red, swinging at Goku, "DIE!" He bellowed, only for Goku to calmly palm his grenade gauntlet aside, the sounds of a TNT detonating in the air as Bakugo's explosive hand impacted against the wall.
"Bakugo, that's dirty! Sneak attacks aren't manly!" Kirishima said, disdaining Bakugo's attempt to get the jump on Goku from where he could see the fight displayed on the security cameras, the only light source in the room coming from those screens.
All Might offered a different opinion, "On the contrary, surprise attacks are just another tactic." He assured, making Kirishima's ears fall like a saddened puppy, "However, young Son's impressive situational awareness and reflexes have completely nullified the element of surprise young Bakugo had."
"Cheap attacks like that won't work on Goku-chan." Mina grinned, tying her arms behind her head.
"Trying to attack me from behind, huh?" Goku snarked, an infuriating smirk crossing his face to Bakugo, "You don't have any honour, do you?"
"Shaddap!" He demanded, swinging at him with a distinctive right hook Midoriya recognized. He was almost on hand to warn Goku about it until he casually evaded it himself, on the move again when Bakugo attempted a reverse elbow. He palmed away another haymaker, returning the favour with a vicious buddha-esque palm strike driven into his sternum with enough force to cause Bakugo to vomit saliva.
"Ugh!" He grunted, staring hotly down at the puddle of his own spit in boiling annoyance, wheezing deeply, 'He made me vomit.' He wiped a hand across his mouth, glancing back up at Goku's dismissive frown, "Think you're hot shit, don't you?!"
Goku didn't respond, just staring at him with that same look of disdain.
"Don't look down on me!" He roared and lunged at him again.
Goku batted away another palm thrust, then another and another until they looked as if they were playing a bizarre game of table tennis. Every time Bakugo's wrists were palmed aside miniature explosions rang out, filling the vacant air with clouds of blackened smoke masquerading Goku's face.
Bakugo was becoming increasingly more frustrated with each failed attempt to land a blow on his hated adversary, and his exasperation would only end up reaching a crescendo when his barrage was prematurely concluded by an instant snap kick delivered against his cheek, turning it aside and slamming him against the wall.
"Ugh!" He found himself gagging not for the first time, glancing across to see Goku slowly lower his leg. He hadn't even seen the boy raise it to attack him, to begin with. "Damn it! You're toying with me, huh? You think I'm weak?!" Goku said nothing. He growled, roared, then charged at him again, hitting the air with an explosion to obscure his vision before unleashing another one with his other hand to propel himself over Goku's head like a jetpack, satisfyingly burying a grenade gauntlet deeply into his misty flesh.
"Bet you never saw that one coming, did you, you dumb-. What?!" Goku's form began to fade away as though he had been an ordinary clone from Naruto before Bakugo's horrified eyes, "Where the hell did he go?" He panicked, frantically looking left and right for any sight of his wayward opponent but only seeing an equally astonished Deku all the same standing some distance back.
His blood froze when the sounds of Goku's near-instantaneous movement resonated from behind him, "Over here." He quipped, giving Bakugo just enough time to turn around and eat a vicious side kick into his aghast countenance, driving him away with so much force rings of air shrouded his form. Goku cheekily flashed his flying form the peace sign, "How do you like my Zanzoken (afterimage) technique?"
'Amazing! I've never seen Kacchan dominated like this!' Midoriya stared, bug-eyed, at the trail of destruction wrought by his childhood friend's flying body. Besides All Might, Bakugo was someone else he greatly admired for his strength, confidence and charisma. The thought that he could be rag-dolled so comprehensively had never once occurred to him.
He switched gazes from Bakugo's fallen body to the kanji-covered back of the impossibly unmovable object that was his teammate, 'Son-kun…'
"Damn it!" Bakugo's bellow dragged him out of his thoughts. Izuku stared down the hallway to see his former friend petulantly beating the flooring before standing, thrusting his arm and fingering a pin on his grenade gauntlet, "Screw this! If you think you're so badass then just try stopping this, clown!" The indents of his gauntlets glowed an ominous red before the blocky compartments opened slightly.
All Might hastily lurch over the control panel and tightly gripped a thin microphone sticking out of it, "Young Bakugo, don't! You'll kill them!" A few gazes behind shifted worriedly at that assertion.
Bakugo wasn't deterred in the slightest, looking more than a little unhinged in his assertion, "Eh! They'll be fine as long as they dodge!"
A bead of sweat raced down the length of his cheek to his jawline. He was only left more perturbed by young Ashido's carefree assurance, arms behind her head like a mini bomb wasn't about to explode in her boyfriend's face.
"Don't worry, sensei!" She snickered, making him look at her like she had just grown an extra horn. "An attack like that won't do a thing to Goku-chan." She assured, completely unperturbed by the askance gestures/looks her new friend Toru and her other classmates sent her way.
All Might's bewilderment only increased, but before he could even think to ask for clarification he heard young Son's voice come through his own earpiece, repeating the same assertion young Ashido gave him almost for verbatim, "Don't worry about me, Might-sensei." He baulked, twirling back to the screen to see Goku's smile of absolute conviction eclipsing his face, "An attack like that won't hurt me."
"Young Son." He murmured.
Bakugo frowned ferociously, "Piece of shit!" He ripped off the pin ring in a flourish, unleashing the scorching blaze of his explosive power like a majestic, soaring phoenix sent down from the heavens to rain its wrath on the foolish humans below, "DIE!"
The intense heat blackened the walls, ripped the floorboards apart and quaked the entire area. Even those watching on from the safety of the security room were forced to brace themselves from the earth-shaking tremble of Bakugo's immense power and yet –
Goku wasn't fazed nor did he even move from the blast shining a light on his impassive gaze.
"Here it comes!" Midoriya started with a raise in his voice. He was about to move to safety until Goku struck out an arm behind himself, as if to soothe him. So, he watched, with grim curiosity as Goku prepared himself to take on Bakugo's mighty blast. A literal dazzling blue light began to cloak his entire form like a suit of armour, leaving Midoriya breathless, "…What is that?"
Goku lifted a hand, open at the palm. The fiery wave of pure obliteration collided heavily against it, sizzling intensely and further scorching the flooring under and in front of the hand but not behind it. Then, he closed his hand, effortlessly extinguishing the flames with the pure force applied behind his grip. Tongues of fire floated down in the smouldered air in front of Bakugo's disbelieving gaze.
"What the hell?" He took a shaky step back, "Just what kind of freak are you?"
"I'm not." Goku responded coolly.
"Then explain how the fuck did you cancel out my ultimate attack like that?"
"Cuz you're weak."
That struck a chord.
Ignoring his teammate's insistence over the line, Bakugo lunged forward again with a war cry, only for Goku to effortlessly sidestep it and shoulder check him back toward Midoriya who stumbled to get out of the way. Bakugo came at him as though he were possessed by the spirit of Byran Fury, swinging another right haymaker Goku parried, countering with another palm strike he cannoned into his chest, forcing more saliva from his mouth.
"Ugh." He grunted, hunched over, wiping the excess saliva off his lip before looking up at Goku's humourless expression, "This all a game to you, huh?! Damn it! You better take me seriously, damn clown. You're not going to beat me by half-assing your punches!" He lunged, only to be instantly swept off his feet by an instant front flip, a'la Marshell Law, body pancaking the metal flooring again with a strained grunt.
Goku landed on his palms on a handstand, legs held straight up before he started spinning around like a propeller, rolling into a cartwheel and pummelling Bakugo with it when he got up. And still, he wasn't finished, flipping backwards in a frog press, turning and balancing his weight on a single hand before beginning a mazy, rhythmic rotation of his legs twirling round and round.
He looked as though Tiger from Tekken 3 had taken over his body and was hitting the colourful, alit disco floors.
'…Um, is he's break dancing?' Midoriya mused, staring bizarrely at Goku's moves. In another time and place, he might've actually admired just how well Goku could dance.
Bakugo, on the other hand, was losing his mind, trembling from the intense shock surging through his system, "Hey, what're you doing!? This is no time to be fooling around!" He yelled, "Damn it! Take me seriously! This'll mean nothing if you don't give it your best!" He surged forward, explosions cackling wildly in his palms. He blasted himself skyward above the dancing teenager, falling into his hands, or his legs in this case.
Goku rolled on his back with his palms, then smashed a kick into the explosive blond's stomach, lashing out with his other leg and air juggling Bakugo with continuous kicks all over his body before knocking him in the air with one last kick driven into his spine, perfect set up for the finisher; a reverse somersaulted heel smash powered into his sternum.
Moments before
(Security room)
A vast silence filled the security room like the king of a barren desert following the complete cancellation of Bakugo's ultimate attack.
"Son-san." Yaoyorozu tried gathering her words, eyes dilated wide and a finger-pointing limply at the screen of an aura-lit Goku, "He, just cancelled Bakugo-san's attack." A bead of sweat ran down the length of her skin. Such supreme skill he had to possess to nullify such an attack that could've reasonably destroyed a small building.
"Told ya!" Mina grinned, flashing multiple sets of stunned gazes the peace sign. "Something like that didn't stand a chance of hurting Goku-chan."
"Wow," Hagakure breathed out in childlike wonderment, "Sonny's so strong." She lifted a floating glove of her hero costume comprising of only gloves and shoes to prop a finger where her chin would've been, "Has he always been that strong, Mina-chan?"
"You bet!" She snickered, eyes fondly lulling over in reminiscence, "Ever since I can remember he's always been super tough." A scene from eight years ago rolled past her gaze just then, of her clutching onto Goku's tail as he led them through a forest in exploration and adventure, beating up bears for lunch and destroying mountains for training. His tail used to be a source of weakness but after strengthening it, it became something she loved to play with.
All Might stared wordlessly at the girl for what felt like hours, then turned back to the fight between his students, 'Tsukauchi-kun, I think we might have found the next All Might.'
The duel resumed in the same manner, with Bakugo's relentless attacks effortlessly evaded or parried by Goku until the porcupine-haired teenager pulled out an unconventional fighting style, ending with him somersaulting into Bakugo's ribcage.
It was an odd way of fighting, to say the least, but most of the students seemed to enjoy it.
"Whoa! Look at those moves!" Kaminari cheered, "Sick."
"Dance moves!" Uraraka clarified in exhilaration.
"Wow. Sonny can move," Hagakure remarked softly.
"Who do you think taught him?" Mina asked, wearing an expression of glowing pride.
Hagakure turned her way, "Did you teach Sonny how to dance like that, Mina-chan?"
"Yup." Mina grinned brightly, "My favourite game to play at the arcade is Dance Stage Euro-mix." She snickered, covering her mouth, "Goku-chan hated it at first until he started thinking of it as training."
"Wow."
"We'll be going now," Goku said nonchalantly, turning from his defeated opponent. He stopped when he heard shuffling and heavy panting.
"Haa… haa… Where… do… you… think…you're… going?" Bakugo demanded, wheezing deeply after every word, "It's not over until it's over, bastard!"
Goku walked up to him, delivering three quick bicycle kicks into his chest like darts on a board, following this up by touching the sides of his chin with the sole of his boot before thrusting a heavy one against his jaw, knocking the daylights out of him. He then snapped his head to the side with a quick spin kick. And then, he inhaled, leaping up and twirling around on the spot, bringing his heel crashing down on Bakugo's head with bone-crushing force, sending him to the floor and to the realm of unconsciousness.
"Urgh!" One last final scream of agony preceded Bakugo's loss of consciousness.
"And stay down!" Goku exclaimed.
"No way," Goku looked over his shoulder to see his de-facto sidekick trembling in awe. "You… beat Kacchan. So easily," Wide, round eyes extending to the length of dinner plates as he moved to stand beside his friend, sweeping his gawking eyes over his old childhood friend's unconscious body. His head was split open from the final kick, spilling blood over his raccoon mask and caking his already heavily bruised visage, "Wow."
Goku propped a hand on his hip, using the other one to dab a finger on his chin, "He was pretty weak."
"He was pretty weak, he says," Midoriya sighed with an uneasy smile coating his expression. He looked at Goku with newfound admiration, "You're amazing, Son-kun."
"Really, what makes you say that?" Goku inquired, cocking a head before gesturing Midoriya to their objective.
"Well," The freckled-faced boy began, falling in step alongside his hardcore fitness teacher, "It's just that Kacchan always seemed so strong," He stroked his arm, turning his gaze aside. "…To me at least. It might just be because my Quirk manifested late but I've always admired Kacchan's strength." He explained, voice descending to a murmur, "He always made it seem like he could do anything. That's why it amazes me to see you manhandle him like he's Quirkless."
Goku's warm palm descending upon his shoulder turned his gaze into his kind eyes, "Hey, don't worry about it. Once you've finished my training you'll be ten times stronger than that guy, just you wait and see!"
Goku's limitless optimism was just the fuel he needed to move forward to a brighter tomorrow.
He smiled gratefully.
"Right. Thanks, Son-kun."
"Anytime! Now let's go beat Iida-kun and win this thing."
"Right!"
With Iida
The armoured student tapped his foot impatiently upon the concrete floor of a mostly bare room save the rotund, black-coloured rocket-shaped bomb comprised entirely of paper-mache. A few pillars dotted the student's location.
"I knew I shouldn't have allowed Bakugo-kun to act on his own," He said, frowning through his helmet at the memory. The disagreeable blond had almost immediately launched into a rant about Goku's insurmountable strength when he asked for Iida's opinion on it and as soon as All Might had given the green light to start the contest, he instantly bolted out of the room.
It was most unsavoury.
He was most certain of Bakugo's defeat at Goku's hands now, "Very well. I'll have to guard the bomb myself then." He stated, gesticulating a thinking posture, "Though I don't have much of a prayer of overcoming Son-sama's power, but perhaps if I can hold out until the time expires…" He drawled, hitting his palm with a fist in realization, "That's it! If I can just keep the bomb away from Son-sama long enough I might just have a chance." He did some mental maths, "By my calculations, it's likely been eight minutes since Bakugo-kun engaged Son-sama, which means there are seven minutes until the simulation ends."
A nod, "It's a long shot but if I can distract him somehow I might just have a chance." He said, "It pains me to enact the role of a villain but if I am to stall Son-sama long enough to ensure my victory, then I have to put myself in their shoes." He clapped his metal-clad cheeks in preparation, "Mwhahahaha! Those foolish heroes. They think just because they've defeated my minion their victory is guaranteed. Little do they know I possess power ten times greater than his! They're walking to their deaths as I monologue!"
This was the scene Goku and Midoriya stumbled upon as they sauntered through the door, Iida cackling madly to himself like the textbook definition of a stereotypical moustache-twirling villain straight out of a cheesy anime.

"Um, what's he doing?" Midoriya said, almost afraid to ask as he pointed a finger at Iida dialoguing his evil villain monologue for dummies.
"Guess he's getting into the part," Goku surmised, bug-eyed.
"He's so earnest!"
Iida noticed them, "Ah, I see you've finally made it, heroes!" He declared dramatically, "I hope for your sake my pawn down below didn't give you too much trouble because I'll have you know my power is ten times greater than his!"
Midoriya barricaded his mouth to stifle his laughter, 'He's so earnest!'
Goku smirked, "Oh, I see what you're doing. Okay, I'll play along." He made an exaggerated scowl, which only increased Midoriya's titters, "You monster! How could you talk like that about your ally?!"
Iida sniggered loudly, "Foolish hero. He was but a pawn in my game of shogi, just as you and Midoriya-kun are now. You've fallen directly into my trap. I couldn't have planned it any better," He formed a claw with his gloved hand, "Soon, the bomb will explode and will wipe out countless innocent lives. Mwhahahahaha."
The tailed warrior's eyes gleamed in excitement. He stepped forward, "Not if I can help it."
"Just try it, hero!" Iida cackled, grabbing the bomb and hauling ass to the window before throwing it open and plunging headfirst out of it. Blue sparks ignited from his engines, erupting into trails of fire like a massive lighter, " Recipro Burst!" He laughed like an insane lunatic whilst he exploded down the street at the speed that would've left a racing car envious. It was only when his load felt distinctively lighter did he stop laughing, a sinking feeling plummeting into his gut.
He chanced a lookup, eyes bulging to see only the faint remnants of the bomb shape temporarily hanging over his shoulder, "Where's th?"
"The hero team…" All Might began with a deep inhale, finishing with a spirited bellow, "Wins!"
"No!" Iida screamed in anguished horror.
He flinched when Goku abruptly materialized in front of him, holding the V for victory and standing beside the bomb, "That was fun!" He grinned cheesily, "I really liked the bit where you pretended to be a bad guy! It was funny."
Iida slumped over, sighing in defeat, "And yet, I fear my efforts weren't enough to overcome the considerable gap in our abilities." He admitted, straightening and offering a hand, "You're as extraordinary as I expected you were, Son-sama. You defeated Bakugo-kun and I near singlehandedly."
Goku firmly grasped his hand in acceptance, looking up at the taller teen with a small smile, "Thanks, Iida-kun. You were great out there, too."
"Your words humble me, but I'm afraid I have much training to do if I'm to close the lofty gap separating us," Iida said, withdrawing his hand.
"Don't be like that!" Goku replied, cheerfully patting him on the back several times, "You did great! And with the right training, you can do even better."
"I'll keep that in mind," Iida bowed formally, "Thank you, Son-sama."
Goku's smile softened, "Don't mention it."
"Young Son, young Iida and young Midoriya, make your way over to the security room where we'll review the results. Leave young Bakugo to the medic bots," All Might instructed.
"Be right there!"
Upon walking into the security room, Goku was immediately bombarded by Mina and some of their classmates, the girl excitably clinging to him while the likes of Kaminari, Hagakure, Kirishima, and Sato lavished praises upon him.
"You were awesome as always, Goku-chan!" Mina gushed, pecking him on the cheek, "Way to kick that meanie's butt!"
"That was seriously badass, dude!" Kaminari lauded.
"You were amazing, Sonny," Hagakure praised.
"That's how a man fights!" Kirishima approved.
"Remind me not to meet you in a dark alley, bro!" The big-lipped Sato said, looking like an overgrown banana skin in his bright yellow wrestler-inspired spandex complete with a white utility belt matching his gloves and boots. He bared a striking resemblance to Kinniku Mantaro from Ultimate Muscle.
"Ahem." All Might cleared his throat politely, settling everyone down. Mina scrambled off of Goku. "Excellent work, both teams. Now, If I may ask, who is the MVP!?"
Multiple fingers predictably pointed in Goku's direction who hooked his arms behind his head, offering a different opinion, "Iida-kun."
Nearly everyone assumed he was just being humble until All Might nodded in clarification, "Uh-huh! And why is that young man?"
"Wait. Seriously? It's not Son?" Kaminari inquired in confusion.
A wide cheery grin developed on Goku's face, "Cuz he was too funny." Everyone else's posture comically slumped over while Mina smiled, affectionately stroking Goku's wild, unkempt hair.
"…Anything else?" All Might asked, awkwardly scrubbing his cheek with a handkerchief he pulled from nowhere.
"Anything else?" Goku blinked blankly.
Yaoyorozu's hand ascended with an air of class surrounding her, "If I may, sensei?" She requested, wearing an outfit of Master Roshi's wet dreams, comprising of an open, sleeveless crimson red jacket with an upturned collar lined with white trim exposing her gorgeous bosom, a short beige skirt leaving her creamy, long legs on display and red boots stretching past her ankles. All things considered, it was a very revealing and sexy outfit. That almost seemed to be the running theme of U.A. campus, girls wearing sexy outfits that either highlighted their mature bodies or flaunted them proudly.
Only Hagakure – who was invisible – and Jiro who was rocking a punk rocker vibe outfit were the exceptions to the rule.
At All Might's reluctant nod, her arm gracefully descended like falling snow, "I assume what Son-san meant was that he was impressed by Iida-san's devotion to his role and I agree. Iida-san is the only one who really took to the spirit of the training session while Bakugo-san, acting on his own vendetta against Son-san, went after him. Then there's Midoriya-san who was unable to contribute much of anything given the self-destructive nature of his Quirk." Everyone stared in complete awe of the girl's clinical, articulated appraisal of the first match between the four, none more so than Iida who was practically glowing in happiness.
"As for the man of the moment himself, while yes, he did demonstrate a level of power, speed and skill far above his years, he was overconfident. In spite of having Bakugo-san completely outclassed in all the above categories he toyed with him for his own enjoyment."
"I like to savour fights," Goku grinned widely.
"Yes, while you were savouring the fight the bomb could've gone off at any point if this were an actual scenario," Yaoyorozu shot back earnestly, causing Goku's eyes to widen, "In conclusion, Son-san and Bakugo-san took advantage that this was a simulation while Midoriya-san lacked the necessary control over his Quirk to be of use. Iida-san was the only one who dutifully stuck to his task and therefore he is the clear and only front runner for MVP."
All Might quivered in his boots in amazement, 'She said more than I expected." He mused, "Well young Iida also had parts of him that could be more relaxed, but well," He held up a thumbs-up, "That was correct."
"One must always aspire to learn the basics of learning. We must strive to devote ourselves wholeheartedly. Otherwise, we cannot become top heroes."
"Wow, you're really brainy, Yaoyorozu-san." Goku complimented casually.
She blushed, feeling humbled, "Why, thank you, Son-san."
All Might stood behind the hero and villain boxes, "Now then, let us proceed with the rest of the matches!"
