THANKS TO EVERYON E FOR THE WONDERFUL REVIEWS. I am so glad you are enjoying this tribute to Raymond. There is SPICE in this chapter.
By the time they pulled into the parking garage at their apartment he looked down at his beautiful wife who was sound asleep and leaning on his shoulder. Perry smiled to himself as he realized going to the office had been more exhausting than she thought it would be this morning. He gently woke her up and helped her out of the car. With his arm around her shoulders, they walked to the elevator and up to their apartment.
He took off her coat and led her over to the sofa. He placed a pillow next to her, took off her shoes, and suggested she rest while he changed clothes. "when I'm done, I'll come back out and help you change."
Still sleepy Della did not argue with him and as he drew an Afghan over her, she closed her eyes and almost immediately fell asleep again. When he came back into the living room she was sleeping peacefully and so he set about straightening up the living room and decided they would call out for Chinese food that night. He had been working for an hour at the dining room table when he heard her start to thrash about and mutter in her sleep. He was immediately at her side.
"Baby I'm here, you are alright. I am not going anywhere."
She opened her incredible hazel eyes and looked at him sleepily. "I must have been having a bad dream," she told him.
He smiled at her and said, "it was something because the Afghan is on the floor."
Taking his hand and squeezing it she remarked, "I am so lucky to have someone who takes such good care of me the way you do."
"I learned from the best."
She reached up and touched his face stroking it gently. "I don't know what I did to deserve you, but I'm not giving you back."
"We went through enough to finally get together and you are never getting away from me."
He leaned forward and kissed her gently, but Della wrapped her good arm around his neck and pulled him closer. Soon he was kissing her hungrily. Breathlessly she asked, "do you think we could make love if we are careful?"
Perry grinned, "Well I don't know. You know in the office you are demure, efficient, organized, and a very proper lady. No one would suspect how VERY active you are in the bedroom."
"Well, if it really bothers you I could be the same way in the bedroom," she commented.
He said quickly, "let's not go to extremes although I do like it when we play boss and secretary, and you are the boss."
With a mischievous look in her eyes Della said, "well Mr. Mason then I think you need to get your notebook and plenty of pencils and follow me to the bedroom."
"Could we wait I'm starving?"
"Work must come first, and I need to concentrate on what I am going to do to bring this situation to satisfaction for everyone concerned."
Mason sighed as he helped her up. "Very well Miss Street tell me what you want me to do."
Della sat down on the bed as she said, "it was a busy day, and I was on my feet so much. If you could take off my shoes and rub my feet."
"Of course." He said as he lifted her leg and pulled off her shoe and caressed her ankle.
She ran her hands through his dark wavy hair as he rubbed the arch of her foot and sighed deeply. "You have magical hands Mr. Mason."
"It's from all that typing Miss Street."
She smiled at him, "well keep up the good work."
He moved to her other foot and began massaging her ankle. As he looked up at her she leaned down and kissed him. "What is that for?"
"It is to reward you for a job well done. "Now if you could help me off with my jacket."
"It would be my pleasure," he said as he slowly unbuttoned the suit coat and revealed a peach-coloured bra. "May I say that is my favourite colour."
Della said, "Perhaps you would like to feel the soft material."
"Well, if think it will help you to relax and finish answering the mail, I would be happy to oblige."
Forget the mail let's do something adventurous, stimulating," Della suggested.
He ran his fingertips over the lacy material, and she wrapped one arm around his neck and pulled his lips to hers. When he released her, she said, "I have missed this, I have missed you."
Tracing his lips with her finger she told him, "I don't know how I got so lucky, but I love you more every day."
"Then no more scaring me half to death with accidents."
She laughed, "It doesn't feel so good when the shoe is on the other foot."
"No, it does not," he agreed, "but I think you have been in your office clothes far too long. It is time to make you much more comfortable."
"Well then what is taking you so long counsellor?"
Knowing he still had to be careful of her cast Perry made short work of the rest of her clothes and his. It didn't help that she was continuing to kiss different parts of his body as his hands moved over her body.
As he got ready to join her on their bed, he first made sure the injured arm was resting on a pillow. He looked down at her in the golden light of the bedside light and was amazed again this exquisite woman was his wife.
"Now," he said, "Let me take the lead so we can be careful of your hand and wrist."
Della found that her left hand was trying to move as Perry settled on her right side.
"Settle down and let me take care of you," he told her.
Running her foot up his leg and her right hand stroking him she agreed to him taking control.
"Why do I get the feeling you are not listening to me?" He asked breathlessly.
"You are talking far too much Mr. Mason," she said as she pressed her lips to his.
Perry wanted to gather her into his arms and hold on, so she knew she was safe and loved. He had to remind himself to be gentle and careful to not to hurt her arm. She opened herself to him and after exploring her mouth he moved his mouth to her breasts.
Della gasped at the sensations he was creating at her delicate tips. "Perry!" she panted.
He caressed her body with his mouth, and she shivered at his every stroke. She was getting frustrated that she couldn't wrap her arms around him and move with him easily.
As Perry continued to move down her body and reached her thighs, he began caressing her most sensitive parts.
Della who always participated fully in their love making was having a difficult time staying still as her pleasure in his stroking was causing her to move in ways that was creating pressure on her arm.
When he finally joined their bodies the desire for fulfilment was blocking all other sensations she was feeling. As she wrapped her legs around him to draw him in deeper her arm slipped but she beyond caring as all the pleasurable sensations seemed to block any pain.
From the top of her head to the bottom of her feet every stroke took her to a place of ecstasy that could not be denied. It took several minutes for their breathing to calm and the pounding of their hearts to slow.
Della moaned and he asked quickly, "did I hurt you?"
"No darling just the opposite it was incredible, you were incredible. I think I was so caught up in the feelings I moved my arm wrong."
He stroked her face. "Oh, Baby I am so sorry. What can I do?"
"Let me rest for a while and move my arm back on the pillow."
The lawyer gently moved the pillow and placed her arm gently on top. "I am so sorry my desire for you got out of hand."
She touched his hand, "It wasn't your fault I wanted it as much as you did. I missed you and our lovemaking."
Perry grinned at her, "So did I more than you can know. I will just have to be a little more patient. It's just about time for your pain medication and you stay right here and relax."
As he came back into the room, he heard her sobs. He placed the water and pills on the side table and sat down on the bed beside her and gathered her in his arms. "It is alright Sweetheart. "I'm not going anywhere I am right here with you."
She shook her head and answered tears running down her cheeks, "I just…" her voice cracked; I just feel so useless Perry. I. am..ugh…Working was so much more difficult than I anticipated.
He didn't allow himself to smile but instead said as he gently wiped the tears from her cheeks, "We will work it out Sweetheart. You can stay home until they take off the cast or come to the office and do what you can."
"You came to the office every day once you were released by the doctor and worked for hours even with that harness on."
"Well young lady I was able to do all those things because of you. You drove me where I needed to go. I don't need to type, to take dictation. We have people to do that now, so you don't need to do it."
"But you and Paul take off without me and I can't go to court."
Suddenly Perry realized it was that old fear that if she married him, she would be stuck at home while he got a new secretary who went places with him. His voice was soothing. "Della I am not replacing you with anyone. If you want to go and sit in court, you can. If Paul and I are not going anywhere too strenuous you can come along. I do want you to promise me one thing. If you get tired you will rest."
"I guess I could," she said reluctantly.
"Mrs. Mason this is just temporary how many times must I tell you I wouldn't and couldn't replace you."
Her lips quivered as she agreed with him. He sat beside her until the pill took effect and he covered her up and went into the living room so as to not disturb her rest.
A few minutes later the phone rang, and it was Paul Drake letting him know the package had left New York and then they had lost track of it.
Perry was very upset as he said, "Paul we have to find that package and we need to find it fast. Della is so upset now about what her injury is stopping her from doing. If the ring is lost it will only make her more unhappy.
"I don't know what to do next Perry until it ends up somewhere. My man in New York is trying to trace it now."
"Paul this is really important keep on it. If it does finally get to Bali, you might have to go there and bring it back for me."
"That might be difficult Andrea is having morning sickness and has missed several days of work. If it does get better, I need to be here."
Mason laughed, "I never thought you and I would be having this discussion."
"That's for sure," Paul agreed. "I'll keep checking and as soon as I know something I'll let you know. That's the best I can do."
"Alright keep me updated and I hope Andrea is better."
Later that evening he ordered Chinese food and when it got there, he set the table and as he gently awakened her, he said, "time to eat."
What are we having?" She asked sleepily.
"Your favourite Chinese food."
Getting off the bed she told him, "Give me a couple minutes to clean up.
Perry was pouring wine when she came into the dining room wearing a pink lacy robe. "That smells good."
"How is your arm feeling?"
"It feels better but I am trying to be careful with it for now especially since I need to be ready to go to the office tomorrow."
"So, you are determined to go back to work."
She smiled at him mischievously, "Oh I don't give up easily Mr. Mason as you well know."
Leaning over he kissed her and said, "One of the many wonderful things I love about you and why I was so determined to marry you."
"The best is yet to come my love," Della replied kissing him back.
