Disclaimer: I own nothing. I am to a spiritual level beyond material possessions. Therefore, I must borrow everyone else's.
I decided to try something different, at least for me. Hopefully it translates well. New line is new message. Mary's replies are italicized. I wanted them to be right-aligned but apparently I can't do that, even with html, in the interface.
This text exchange between Dean and Mary take place at the end of/after 12x4.
Teachable Moment: Checking In
Sent Yesterday
Dean:
Hi mom, just checking in. Is MOM still okay or weird? Should I call you Mary?
Sent Today, 7:45 am
Mom:
Hey Dean, phone died, didn't have a charger. Things are good.
I'll always be MOM. Tell Sam I love you boys. [1]
Dean:
Will do.
Mom:
How's Castiel?
Dean:
He's out looking for Lucifer. With Crowley.
Mom:
You don't sound too happy about that. Do he and this Crowley have history?
Dean:
They like to try and kill one another. Sometimes directly to their face, other times behind their back.
Although there was this one time Crowley gave him angel grace when he was dying. I don't know what was going on then.
I don't like it.
Mom:
I doubt Castiel will do anything to damage what you have.
Dean:
That's what I told Bobby and Sam when they suspected Crowley and Cas had a secret deal the first time around. I was wrong.
Mom:
But he's not keeping it a secret now.
Dean:
No, I guess not.
Mom:
That's something.
Dean:
I still don't like it.
Mom:
If you're that worried, you could ask to join them.
Dean:
Naw, somehow that will be worse.
Plus, who'd keep Sammy in line?
Mom:
I don't think your brother needs a babysitter anymore, Dean.
Dean:
You'd think that. Then you leave him alone for 5 minutes to find him covered in glitter and ectoplasm from exploding clowns.
Mom:
I don't think I want to know.
[1] Break from cannon. I also made up the times.
