Chapter 3

We ran to the entrance of the school as the students walked among us. They were walking with their club members to the school. There were a total of twelve clubs at the school: cooking, drama, occult and sport were just to name the few. So far, I haven't seen that girl, which may seem like a good thing. Taro breathed in and released with relief. Then, we spotted a schoolgirl waiting on the right side of the entrance. Her orange hair was in two ponytails and was long, down past her knees. Her hair was in two pink bows with white polka-dots which matched her thigh length stockings. She wore the standard female school uniform for Akademi High.

Akademi High School is a rich and private school. It was opened in 1985 by Saikou Corp to ensure that Saisho Saikou, the CEO at the time, could guarantee that his daughter had the best time of her life there with Sensei Shuyona as, and currently the only, Head-Master. Everything was going fine, until four years later. In 1989, a schoolgirl was killed in the girls' bathroom on the third floor. That one event changed the whole image of the school. Luckily, the news of the tragedy died out and Akademi High was respected once again.

The schoolgirl watched us with her hands on her hips and swayed from left to right. And there was no smile on her face. She was clearly mad at us, but mostly Taro. Her name was Osana Naijami, Taro's childhood friend.

"I can't believe you were both late again." Osana barked at us.

"Good morning to you too." I said to her and she huffed at me.

"We weren't." Taro spoke next and showed her his watch on his right wrist. "We made it just before the bell."

"I wanted to walk to school together!" Her fists punched the air below. Osana looked at me with her pair of orange eyes. "Could you go? I need to tell Taro something."

Then, I remembered something. Everything went quiet as I stared at Osana. I was just looking at her head. A vision came over me and I remembered the nightmare. It was Osana's head the killer was holding. It was her orange eyes staring blankly at me. But then, her head started speaking to me. I don't remember that happening in my nightmare.

"Bijon… Bijon… Bijon…"

"BIJON!" Osana yelled at me, snapping me out of my vision. I shook my head as I heard ringing in my ears. "Are you deaf? I said could you go?!"

"Sorry, Osana." I said to her and rubbed my forehead. "Something popped up in my head."

"Whatever." Osana scoffed at me.

"Hey, no need to be harsh." Taro defended me. "It's just the first week of April."

"Yeah." As I turned my head, I spotted the girl Taro and I bumped into earlier. She was watching them. Of course, she started stalking them. Then, her grey eyes spotted me and ambled along the other group of students. I turned to my friend and said: "I need to do something anyway."

"Okay, see you later." Taro spoke as I left the group and the trio became a duo. Osana started to speak to him with an attitude, probably scolding him.

The girl started to walk away from them and behind me. Great, she was following me (well, I hope not). I entered the school and went to my locker. I took off my black shoes and replaced it with the school shoes. The girl with a black ponytail turned to the left hallway and I started following her. We arrived in the west wing of Akademi High on the second floor. What was odd about it was that the girl was entering into the Student Council Room and she wasn't a member. Once she went in, I knelt on the floor and leaned my head forward. The room had a wooden floor and beige walls. It had red curtains and red chairs surrounding the wooden table with a tea set on it. It had three bookshelves, a grandfather clock, a desk with a globe and laptop on it, and a chandelier.

The girl stopped in front of the desk and looked down at the laptop. Suddenly, the laptop switched on and a mysterious figure emerged on the black screen. It seemed to be a schoolgirl but the face was covered.

"Is someone there?" a female voice came from the grey laptop and the girl gave no answers to her. The laptop gasped at her presence. "It's you!"

It seemed surprised yet angry at the girl. The girl just stared at the screen with her blank eyes with no emotions whatsoever. She was alive yet her eyes said dead as if there was no humanity in her anywhere. Not even her soul. The laptop's female voice resumed.

"Why have you come here?" It asked the girl. "Have you come here to taunt me?"

My mind was wondering why the laptop was asking the girl. Does it know her? Is it stalking her in some way?

"Don't you even know who I am? I know who you are. I know what you are." It spoke with disgust in her tone. "My father won't allow me to attend school while you are… active. He has a reason for tolerating your presence at this school. I don't. You are a vulgar creature that is only allowed to exist because you serve a purpose. If it was my decision, then every last one of you would be exterminated. Have fun while you can. If you and I ever cross paths, you're going to have a bad time."

The laptop switched off and the girl walked away from the desk. What was all that about? Who was on that laptop? Was it the Student Council President?

"Oh my, what's going on here?" A soft female voice spoke to me from behind, causing me to jump.

I lifted my head to see a member of the Student Council and she was beautiful. Her name was Akane Toriyasu. She wore the Student Council uniform of white blazer and skirt with red lines. She had long pretty scarlet hair tied into a ponytail at the front. She also had two orange feathers behind her left ear. Her thin eyes were closed on her round beauty of a face with a smile. Her legs were in a see-through white lace garter belt. Her left arm had the "Red Armband of Leadership" reading seito kai. I blushed at her appearance.

"I… I…" I struggled to get the words out of my mouth. I turned my face away from her and looked at the ground. The air escaped from my mouth. "I was just picking up my pencil. I dropped it."

My chuckle ended my sentence and I got up from the ground. I brushed my knees and bowed to her for respect.

"Don't misbehave." Akane said and walked gracefully away with her hands at the front.

I couldn't help but watch her before she turned to the right side of the hallway. I think I had a crush on her. I think I love her. My face was still reddened after she left. I raced back downstairs and turned right, heading to the boys' bathroom.
