CHAPTER 4
Now that Minister Shacklebolt had exited the meeting, the talk could turn to Harry's personal business. As of the moment, Harry was Lord Black-Potter. But his tale and his fascinating achievements brought forth the possibility of many other lines he could easily claim; he had summoned the sword of Gryffindor first, and he had now defeated Voldemort in battle more than three times. It naturally led to a possibility that there would be more to claim as his inheritance. Augusta understood where Ragnok was headed; she coached Harry to formally request a full set, Blood Magic inheritance test for Harry rather than assuming and guessing. And the results left them all pleased and shocked.
Harry had been born to inherit Seven Clantèrë houses, and claimed six more others of Most Ancient and Most Noble status by conquest, aside from twenty-seven non-titled but exceedingly wealthy assets and Vaults completely free from issues as there was none alive to fight his claim any more. 16 others had families and dependents, that Harry insisted on returning family wealth to, but conditionally, provided that the next in line to inherit would not use their new gains to equip or enable any more crimes or criminals, nor support anti-social, anti-justice agendas. It was a strangely worded but typical Harry request and Ragnok felt himself unwittingly respecting the young man for his generosity and as well as his clear convictions.
They continued sorting through the inheritance and claims; thirteen of the final list of Houses were claimed by Harry and each of them, wealthy beyond measure, and a power beyond reckoning in Wizengamot. Harry felt his head being stretched to capacity as Gran and Ragnok both worked hard to fill him in on everything they knew of these 13 houses, and all the ensuing issues and possibilities.
A summation of 32 votes for him alone, and more than 39 million Galleons, 23 properties in Wizarding UK, one unplottable Island, all of Hogwarts, three residences in France, one in Frankfurt and Sicily, and a magical apartment in New York. Controlling shares in all leading franchises of the British Wizarding Media. For all intents and purposes, he might as well be the uncrowned King, but it was ironic that he clearly saw his throne sat only over a broken land and beaten down people; it was no glory but more sweat, blood, years and decades of endless hard work as far as he was concerned. His war raged on while the others could have the luxury of believing that the battle was truly ended three days ago at Hogwarts. He felt the weight of his bitter Destiny pressing down on him, wearying his very soul, all over again.
Rallying himself, Harry swiftly considered what was needed to help his country get back to its feet and travel back to prosperity and free itself from the Yokes of Prejudice. Over the protests of both Ragnok and Gran, he offered one million Galleons to the Ministry and another million to Hogwarts, and a third million to be used to revive the economy. Three wars in one hundred years had utterly wrecked their country and Harry beseeched to the Economist in Ragnok when he pointed out that even Gringotts would suffer if their wizarding community's economy crashed completely.
Harry had the power and the means to pump some funds back into the community and revive those who desperately needed revival and were willing to work hard for it. All he would give was a chance, after all; it would be up to the people to make it work, in the long run. But it wasn't to be done in the name of Harry Potter. Harry Potter would never again be heard from in this world unless another dark wanker cropped up. He was determined to keep the legend and the reality separate.
Ragnok hastily negotiated Harry's generously offered revival fund as a loan with a conditional interest for the ministry and the public. But, in a fair exchange, Ragnok brooked no protests from Harry as the frustrated Goblin declared that he would personally negotiate with Minister Shacklebolt to have Hogwarts and Hogsmeade Village declared sovereign property of the one they knew as Harry Potter or any of the titles Harry could choose from, in case he still wanted obscurity.
Harry considered his name, not the casual diminutive that the world knew but his true name as given by his parents, as per family traditions. It was another thing that the inheritance test had revealed; his real name was Haerviu Antares James Potter. Harry was a diminutive hypocoristic sobriquet for Haerviu, an old traditional Peverell and Potter family name from at least seven hundred to thousand years ago. Apparently, real names held a certain binding power, vulnerability and identity in magic. Most of the Wizarding ancient and traditional families rarely if ever used the full name given at birth and accepted by magic; it was only ever used for signing binding magical contracts in blood.
Harry had to wonder aloud if he could have skipped out on the Triwizard Tournament since it had been Harry Potter who was selected and contracted, not Haerviu Antares James Potter. Ragnok agreed with his assessment that he could have skipped out on the game with no consequence had he not participated in the first task; the consent of magic in the contract had come from his knowing participation, and that had been taken as implied consent by magic, and had emancipated him in 1994. Which also meant that he legally had no trace since then, and the trial in the summer before the fifth year had been a total sham.
Had he known that he had been eligible to take his seats in the 'Mot and had he pursued that route, Harry could even have won the war a bit more quickly, with a lot less blood loss. Had he known that would Cedric, Mooney, Tonks, Fred and hundreds of others have been saved from untimely death? Dumbledore had orchestrated this method. Harry guessed that he probably looked as sick as he felt at that realization, although Gran and Ragnok looked disturbed but not very surprised. Right then and there, Harry vowed fervently to himself that he would never allow anyone else to control him again, and learn everything with a passion that would put Hermione to shame. Never again would he allow ignorance to be the cause of anyone's death. Never again!
