I looked up surprised by the sharpness in the Hokage's voice. 'Wasn't he portrayed as the smart but kind grandfather? He doesn't sound as kind as he was in the anime. Is it because he's suspicious of me? Pfft yeah right I'm only three years old.' When I met his eyes, I hurriedly lowered mine again. 'Well, his eyes look intimidating and calculating. He doesn't seem forgiving to lying or hiding information. I hope my luck is enough for him to not ask difficult questions, or question my answers..."

Guy started giving his report "While we were in patrol we heard an explosion and followed the sound. Three dead bodies were found with this child next to them. We brought her with us for questioning since we wanted to hear her perspective before we provide you with the rest of the information we found."

"Hmm... That's good enough for now." The Hokage then looked over at me and asked "Child what's your name?" As I was about to raise my head and answer, a pop up notification stopped me from doing so. I read it while facing down.

"Quest Alert: While you're in this meeting don't let anyone find out anything related to the system or your life before it."

'A quest? Now? Well, I already was planning on doing that... Wait! He asked me a question!'

"Um... what?" I asked looking up. I found the Hokage watching my every move making me sweat drop. When I asked that question his features softened a little, he repeated his question again "What's your name?"

"Sayori."

"How old are you?"

I raised three fingers showing him my age.

"Where is your home?"

"The orphanage."

"Konoha's orphanage?"

I nodded my head.

"Can you explain to me what happened?"

I was anticipating this question and gave a simple (hopefully childish) answer of what I remembered from Sayori's memories. "I was playing with Kyoko-chan in the playground. She left, then a man grabbed me and put dirty clothes in my mouth. He jumped on a tree with two more people there. Then he put me in a bag and closed it. The bag was shaking and I got pushed left and right. I was really scared… but suddenly everything went black."

"Hmmm..." The room was quiet the only sound heard was the Hokage tapping his table. "So what happened after the darkness was gone?"

"I woke up and saw dead people around me. I hid behind a bush and waited for someone to come. But no one came, so I went back to see who those people were... Then Guy-san came." I then glanced at Guy seeing him frown down on me.

"Thank you Sayori-chan. You may wait outside. We'll call you back later."

I walked out of the door, closed it, and sat down on one of the chairs by the door. I breathed out relaxing a little then looked at the quest message to see the details.

"Quest Alert: While you're in this meeting don't let anyone find out anything related to the system or your life before it.

Reward: Exp. +10

Beginner's guide (book)

Fail penalty: Death."

...

'N... no way. Death? The system will kill me if I mention anything related to it or me?' I sighed and started to question the system's intentions in bringing me into this world. 'How does my existence here help the system? It definitely needs me for something... but it's treating me like I'm a disposable chess piece! Will it replace me if I fail? Or is it just giving me a message that I either do my missions or die?' I started cursing the system internally as it added more stress to my already stressful situation. 'This is seriously missed up… Is there a reason it doesn't want others knowing about it? Or is it a specific person here?' I sighed feeling more tired then I already was. 'Should I give up? Just thinking about this is too much work! Living as Sayori for one day has been more stressful than living as Hanna for 23 years!'

...

'In a more positive note… all of this will probably get easier. After I'm done here, I'll plan the most comfortable, relaxing, stress free, lazy life that I can have! Hahaha, who do you think I am system! All this drama won't stop me from achieving my dream! Yes, you might think of me as a disposable piece in your plan, BUT I'm going to live my life as I did before, in comfort! I'll use my knowledge to get money easily, then I'll hire people to do everything for me! I won't even lift a finger! I'll be able to laze around all day! Aaaah I can't wait.' I put my hands on my face to avoid anyone from seeing my vicious smile (As it really doesn't suit a three year old's face.).

'But on a more serious note… System, I am not going to get involved in minor troublesome things happening to this world. These people make their own decisions I am not going to try and correct them. I don't know what you're planing but if I'm here to change the content of the book then you might need someone else. I will help you out only when necessary. I'm not going to be your puppet.'

When the system didn't answer I calmed down and started planning my next course of action. 'They're still talking. They'll probably call me again. I need a new game plan I can't just wing it this time. I need to twist the truth and make it match my narrative.'

I started thinking about the most difficult question. 'If they ask me about how I exploded, what should I say? I only know that her thought process caused the explosion. But what exactly is this ability? And how did she get it? There's something important I'm missing…' After some more thinking I did not find a satisfactory solution, so I decided to ask the system. 'System can you tell me why I exploded? Or give me a hint of how I did it?'

"The system found it acceptable to provide brief information related to Sayori Chiba's parents.

Sayori's mother was a seal master. She tattooed unique seals on her body as many of her ancestors did. Some thought her family had a Kekkei Genkai but their strength came from their intelligence and unique usage of seals. This family was a part of Uzushiogakure, living at the hills that surrounded the village. They were known for their unique take in sealing and wearing clothes that hid their entire body.

Sayori's father was a civilian from Konohagakure. Since he was young, his family disapproved of him for being different than them. Their feelings escalated when he joined the academy to become a ninja. When he graduated, they cut him out of the family tree forcing him to live on the streets. Their constant mental and physical abuse since he was young pushed him to discard his family name and never talk to them again."

'Ok, let's focus on what's important now… My mom is a sealing master, she tattoos unique seals on her body. Which means that she probably inked a unique tattoo on me. But where is the seal? I don't remember having one… Think Sayori! Think! If not me then someone else must have noticed it before!'

I squeezed my brain to find a moment where someone mentioned a tattoo. I spent a long time with my head down, scrunching my eyebrows with hair all over my face. 'Maybe… maybe it's there?'

"Come Sayori-chan. You're needed inside." Guy said pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Ok." I said while fixing my hair. Sweating buckets, I walked in again with only one explanation for what might've happened. 'Hopefully they don't ask for evidence,' I wasn't sure what to do if they asked about the tattoo. It may not be there after what happened to this body. 'I guess it all goes down to luck…'
