Fan fiction The Land Before Time: Uninvited Guests Part 4

The bright day started as usual in the Great Valley for Cera . The native residents awoke, move, ate from ground plants, leaves, and drank from the nearby springs. The newer ones sighed carelessly to waking up without worrying about a sharp tooth attack. Young mother started to gather materials to make the nests to lay the upcoming broods. Some of them big mouths, who had already covered their laid eggs and started gabbing while their eggs were warmed by layers of moss, leaves, sticks, and, grasses while other dinosaur moms were collecting materials to cover their newly hatched eggs.

The hot spring sun showed brightly high above the valley cliffs . The young ones chased each other in the sun. Gramps Long neck couldn't help smiling as Little foot played with other young longnecks. Daddy three horns snorted contently now that his daughters had actually found suitable real playmates, other three horn to fight, charged with and to crash their heads and bodies with. Cera laughed gleefully as she was victorious in her games. Daddy three-horn was proud that his daughters were getting along so well with other three horns. Little Tricia snorted as she pawed the ground to attack other little three horns, Cera was ramming other three horns twice her size knocking them over while locking horns with them. She bellowed towards the silly sharp tooth's home.

" Hmm, who is the king of the mountain? She sassed. " It looks like the queen is the real ruler of the mountain, as usual."

"Who are you talking to ? Mocked a young little three horn.

"Want to fight?" Cera would challenged any three horn she approached as a three horn boy with darker horns snorted back.

"You little horn." He charged at her in full force.

Cera raced toward him. The other three horns gathered around them . Watching and waiting for the hit, they gasped with anticipation.

"Oof !" The other three horns exclaimed.

"What is your name ?" asked the little three horned boy .

"Cera." Cera responded proudly.

"I am called Roughy. These are my friends, Spotty, Toughie, and Patches. He gestured toward the other three horns nearby watching them, challenging each other to bunt their heads against each other. Spotty was a three horn with large spots all over his body. He looked like he had all freckles all over. Patches had a black birthmark on his left eye. He looked like he had gotten a black eye and he had been fighting to get it. Roughy looked like he had been in the bushes tumbling around. Well, he had been since Cera had pushed him around there. Maybe she could do it again this time into more bushes.

"I am Tilly, his sister." Said another girl Triceratops, "And this is Tri." She introduced another Three horned girl.

"Oh hello." Cera answered politely.

"I bet I can push you and my brother into the bushes." Tilly challenged her.

"That would be fun." Cera giggled and then she snorted.

" I bet you can't." Roughy snapped back at his sister challenging.

Cera and Tilly started puffed while Roughy pawed the ground violently. Then, without any warning, Roughy charged full force at Tilly who stormed rapidly toward him. Their small horns looked into battle as they rugged each others and pushed against each other so they could go into the bushes. Cera grounded her horns into the ground as she waited for her chance to battle while Tilly rammed her opponent. He was a lot bigger and tougher than Tilly was and fatter, too. She couldn't help, but laugh at how huge Roughy was. He should have been called Hugely instead of Roughy. When she did laugh, she lost her concentration and felt herself slipped into other mud. She yelled horrified as her face landed deep into the muddy water. She groaned as she thumped into dirt.

"OW!" Mud splattered all over her face, her back, legs, and horns. She was all dirty with dirt splatters.

" I won!" boasted Roughy.

Cera turned red with embarrassment. How could that be possible? How could what happened to her possible? She looked around to see if her father, her sister, or her step mother were around and had noticed her humiliation probably thinking she had lost the fight. She looked around to see Tilly filled with sticks, twigs, and leaves coming out of everywhere. Tilly shook all the debris off her. Cera flicked her whole body and her head to remove all the mud. It ran down her face and her horns . She snorted, but was interrupted by some cackling giggles coming from some nearby bushes. It sounded like Chomper's poison spitters. They annoyed her more than frightened her. Chomper frightened her more than they did. She, on the most part, never pay attention to them, but this time, she was livid. She needed to know why they were laughing at. Were they laughing at her? They better not to be laughing at her. She politely excused herself to her fellow three horns.

"Excuse me, I have to deal with something." Cera stomped towards the giggles. The other three horn young ones just looked at her amazed that she go off to talk with other dinosaurs, not three horns.

"I am going with you, too." Tilly remarked.

"Fine."

"Wow." Roughie said.

"What a sore loser!"

"She's a crybaby." Snorted another.

"Crybaby !" Crybaby! " teased other.

Cera turned around and looked angry at them. "What did you say?" She threatened.

" Nothing ." A smaller three horn answered.

All of the other three horn calves dummy up real quick as if they were scared of Cera.

" I thought so." Cera looked intently at them as she topped toward the laughter concealed in the clearing surrounded by bushes were the two poison spitters. They were making gurgling, slurping, smacking sounds from their lips. Drooling down their faces, their small dog like paws was a baby long neck that they had poisoned. Its eyes glared lifelessly as if they had been burned. There all around the ground were bits and pieces of dead young herb eaters. Cera gasped in horror. She didn't know whether to be furious or terrified. She, however, was determined to get those poison spitters one way or another. She growled internally. There, those poison spitters were cackling while also they were munching on bloody baby no horn. Dippy giggled as bloody mess spilled from her mouth. Very gross, bad manners, and unladylike , all at the same exact time. Never did girly herb eaters behave so badly. It will take a real lady to straighten them out. Cera continued to watch them at a distance as they gurgled their morsels. Dilo smacked her lips as she ate her tender no horn snack.

"Plump and tangy ." She cooed licking her lips. Dilo offered some to Chomper who was looking at them annoyed. He sniffed it, not too sure since it had poison on it. He was not a poison spitter baby.

"Shouldn't we wash the poison off it, dear sister? He is not an adult poison spitter. He is not even an adult short armed sharp tooth."

"I might be a small short armed sharp tooth, but I can still throw rocks into ponds from a far. I can also throw blown up three horns' large waste water bags around. I can run up to the holes and slam the rocks into them. When those hot water stream hills throw out rocks, I can catch them mid-air and throw them back into them." Chomper boasted.

"Really?" Dippy asked.

" Of course, he doesn't. It is way too dangerous." Dilo replied.

"So say the babysitters who try to feed the baby poison meat that comes from their mouths?" Cera's voice comes out from somewhere.

"Cera ?" Chomper asked startled as much as the poison spitters.

"Who is that" "Another sharp tooth?"

"Ahh !" Chomper didn't want to give his friend away.

"Now, my cute Baby, No more tricks since we are feeding you, not feeding on you. We wouldn't want that. Would we?" Dilo responded.

Tilly screeched when she saw what the ridge heads were eating, much to Cera's dismay. Tilly was shuttering in horror at what she had seen and Cera roared at her to move.

"Let's go before they notice us." This gave Cera an idea on how to expose those rotten poison spitters for sure. She would find the proof she needed. She calmly said to all those around including the other young three horns who came out of the clearing to see what was going on. "There are sharp teeth in there." All the young three horns ran for their lives in fear.

That very evening, all the elders were there including the newcomers to discuss the found dead longneck babies that Little foot had told his grandparents about.

"That's right. " My friends and I found some dead baby longnecks while we were playing tag." Those were Little foot's words. He said to all those who went the council that night. He brought his new long neck friends to testify what they had seen.

" The babies were poisoned by the poison spitters who are pretending to be herb eaters and saying they are ridge heads. They have been killing babies with their poison. They have our friend, Chomper, who is also a sharp tooth, a prisoner and needs to be rescued before he gets eaten." Little foot gulped.

"It is all that Chomper's fault he needs to be rescued before he gets eaten." One of the Long neck resident answered.

"How do you know that this Chomper is helping those other sharp teeth? He is one of them and therefore can't be trusted." Roughy's mother exclaimed. "He probably telling them to kill our babies. He is just like that Red Claw who tells those fast biters to find him food."

"He is not smart enough for that." Daddy Three horns said trying to comfort her fears.

" Yup, Yup, That is right. …I mean ..…Chomper is not helping them hunt." Ducky corrected herself. Spike and I have been watching the Ridge heads since they first came . Spike does not play nor is happy with them around because he senses something is wrong about them.

"You can't expect us to believe those nice Ridge head are poison spitting sharp teeth." Spotty's mother gasped.

"That is impossible." Said a Longneck father. "They are so nice."

Spike's face slumped in shock.

"Nice ? ? " Ducky wondered. "When have they been nice? They showed they have been nice? We barely know them."

"They are just a little shy, that's why ." Spotty's mother remarked .

"Maybe we should help them out of their hiding places." Cera smiled to her new three horned friends.

"Shy ? Nope, nope, nope, they are not a little shy. They go around sneaky across the valley behind rocks spying on the young mother herb eaters as well as snooping on the big mouths near the ponds and lakes. As for being shy, no, they are not shy at all. They are rather sneaky."

Spike shocked his head in agreement.

"How?" Cera asked interested, "Tell us more, Ducky? That's not enough …. .. proof , at least, not for me, anyway? Cera smirked.

"Where do I begin it?" Ducky answered.

"At beginning, where you first suspect them as being sharp teeth?" Cera encouraged her.

"Well, it was when we first met them and they had show a lot of interest in Chomper. They took him into their care and started to feed him meat. It wasn't fish or clams, but real herb eater meat . It was all bloody. Sometimes it would be dead little biters, or baby big mouths or bits and pieces of other herb eaters. It was very scary because they were feeding him like he was their baby. They built a leafy nest for him and kept him there as their baby. All the meat they brought to him they had to clean it because it was full of poison. They cleaned it down near the rivers or lakes when everyone was not looking or when everyone had gone to sleep. All the gray slime from all the dead babies and little biters. Sometimes the little biters would follow, trying to steal bites to eat from the dead little biters." Ducky looked like she was about to be sick at the mere thought of little biters eating each other.

Cera made an annoyed expression. "That doesn't make them sharp teeth if they feed him. Now, if you see them, kill, that is different. You need proof that they are actually spitting poison and they have sharp teeth, which we cannot see them."

"Don't believe those Big mouths. They are horrible gossipers, story tellers and liars unlike our noble three horn mothers." Chuffed a three horn mother. Cera looked shunned in hearing this.

"What ?" Cera reacted.

"It was that baby… I mean that Sharp tooth Chomper. He should be run out of the Great Valley. Friend or no friend , he is eating our young." A big mouth mother said.

"He is a sharp tooth! How can a sharp tooth be a friend? Said another.

"How could they think a sharp tooth could be a friend? Retorted a flyer mother.

"How could he be anything, but a sharp tooth ? He is a not a friend. He is a sharp tooth. He cannot be a friend." Grunted an old three horned father. " They are mean, killing, eating things. He is making a fool of you by tricking you into thinking he is friend so he can eat you."

The newcomers were muttering to each other in tense panic agreeing with the old three horn.

The native residents mumbled to themselves as well. "A sharp tooth, a sharp tooth , a sharp tooth in the Great Valley, we never believe we would seen the day."

"We must get rid that Chomper before he gets us." Snorted a Big mouth father.

"No!" Little foot exclaimed tearfully and frightened. "He is our friend! He lowered his head sadly and tearfully.

"None of that !" Cera told him scornfully. " It isn't helping Chomper and it is a sign of weakness in your part."

"It couldn't possible to be Chomper, he is my friend." Little foot told Grandpa Long neck and Grandma Long neck who were trying to console him.

Daddy Three horn interrupted all the panicking herb eaters's discussion. "Even though he is worthless, and he is supposed to take care of us from other sharp teeth, he still can't be the killer. He doesn't spit poison. He is also too small and too stupid for a sharp tooth. Disgraceful, really? Don't give that little Chomper credit when it is not due. I want physical proof that those ridge heads are sharp teeth, poison spitters, or otherwise."

As soon as the meeting was over, Ruby and Little foot and other Great Valley friends rushed to Chomper's cave to see if he was all right. When Ruby got there, he was tumbling with Gub Gub, the sail back.

"Chomper, what did we say about going to take Gub Gub back to his home and leave him as soon as we see his parents ?" Ruby chided.

" Do we have leave him with his parents alone?" Chomper questioned.

"Yes, but his parents might eat you if you don't leave quickly when they find him. He is a sharp tooth." Ruby reminded Chomper.

"His own parents might eat him, too. He told me that himself."

Ruby made a horrible scared look in response.

"Some sharp teeth eat their young, dear, not all, unless necessary, of course. "Dilo replied. "Some must if they don't behave or if their pets, or their friends don't."

"Really, even if they are their own babies." Chomper asked.

"They even adoptive babies, not their own unless they are naughty." Dippy said.

"For reals?" Chomper asked.

"Don't be silly. Why would a sharp tooth want to have a baby, not their own." Ruby scolded.

"To eat or to play with . "Dippy answered.

"What happens when they are tired of playing with it? Chomper looked curious at Dilo and Dippy.

"They eat it especially if it doesn't want to play or be their baby." Dilo responded.

Or if they run out of food. Hee, Hee ." Giggled Dippy.

"I hope you never run out of food. "Chomper said. Thank goodness, the Great Valley has a lot of food. Now with all those newcomers, there should be plenty more food."

"Yes, plenty of fat, juicy, succulent babies, herb eaters." Dilo smiled delighted smacking her lips.

"You and your friends won't be able to stop us." Dippy added.

"Friends ? We are sharp teeth, right , Ruby? Sharp teeth can never friends with herb eaters. It is not polite to play with your food." Chomper hinted to Ruby winking and smiling. Ruby made a strange face in terror at Chomper as if she did not know him.

"She doesn't look like a sharp tooth." Dilo snarled.

"Looks like a Fast runner." Dippy giggled.

"Fast runner!" Chomper gasped shocked, "She is no Fast runner."

Ruby took off grabbing Chomper with her.

"Nice try, Fast Runner."Dilo snapped.

"How dare you try to steal our baby?" Dippy snatched Chopper back.

"I am not a baby !" Chomper growled in sharp tooth.

Oh, yes, you are! " Dippy, Dilo, and Ruby all said together in unison.

"What ?" Chomper roared in frustration. He is roared again in sharp tooth, the language of the sharp tooth quite loudly. It was loud enough for old Red Claw to hear it outside the Great Valley. He lifted his head. He growled to his lackeys, Screech and Thud who responded in unison.

Little foot had tried to catch up to Ruby. He was not as fast as she was. They were not called Fast Runners for nothing.

"Wait for us." Yelled Petrie flying furiously. "We want to help, too."

"I have an idea to catch those poison spitters in the act." Cera added.

"We must planned before we can go up there with Chomper and the Poison Spitters." Petrie responded.

All they heard from Chomper's cave was laughter.

" I hope it isn't too late for Chomper or Ruby." Petrie remarked.

Petrie and Little Foot and the rest of their friends looked towards Chomper's cave.

"Yup, Yup, a good plan that is good." Duckie reacted frightened by the eerie silence.

"First, all we must save Ruby and Chomper by giving time to escape. Second, someone must lead them to the open, and then find a way to show the elders, and the rest of the young ones that these Ridge heads are really venomous sharp teeth." Cera explained.

Chomper's loud roar was heard from inside his cave followed by an even louder roar from the outside of the Great Valley.

"If we have to get that monster in here, then we must if all else fails !" Cera ordered.

"We better hurry though." Duckie mused, "The others will be coming soon." Spike looked back at the angry herb eaters mob rapidly approaching.

Back inside Chomper's cave, he and Ruby were being held against their will by two venomous deceiving poison spitters . They both looked concerned and quiet. They had accepted their fate without any defiance in their faces.

Cera sneaked in quietly and repeated what she shouted before to the poison spitters. " So say the babysitters who try to feed the baby poison meat that comes from their mouths?"

"What was that?" Dilo looked around. Ruby and Chomper looked surprised hearing Cera's voice come out of nowhere.

"Are we playing games again ? Dippy resumed giggling whimsically .

"He didn't do anything. I was the one who said it." Cera grunted from a bush, then she charged at them.

"Yikes, a three horn."

She barged into them. Cera said quite eloquently. "Words can be poison if one knows how to use them. You don't need poison spit when your own words can sting just as bad. Horns, teeth, and claws are nothing compare to the venom that comes from words spoken with the intent to hurt."

Cera remembered Chomper was there. She started to scolded him. "And why are playing rock throwing games instead of doing something practical like learning survival skills like protecting us from strange sharp teeth or being fed by them."

There is no time for that !" Ruby muttered as she took Chomper in his arms to fled. Cera followed quickly after them, but still wanting to get into a venomous, roasting word fight with the poison spitters.
