Chapter 1 : All There in Black and Wight (Part 1)
Yuya didn't like the sight of the Black and Wight Duel School. Looking on the surface to be. The stereotypical haunted Mansion. A large, Victorian style mansion painted black with thick shutters and creaky looking steps out on the front. The windows too dark to see into. A large greenhouse in the back. Covered in vines on the inside. All in all, the school gave off a very foreboding and unnerving vibe. Nico Smiley had to practically drag Yuya into the school. The hairs on his neck standing up just from sitting on the porch. He was supposed to have dueled someone from a fortune telling duel school, but the headmistress had said something about "bad omens."
The inside looked a lot better. Still having the feeling of an old mansion, but there were at-least signs of life in the place. The fireplace was lit, pictures on the mantle. A red carpet on the floor. Combined with the soft looking couches it looked rather cozy. The smell of tea being brewed brought Yuya's attention to a nearby couch. Seeing on the couch the boy from the bot he was supposed to face today, Jeff Dorasin. He didn't look like much, just a pale,gaunt boy in a white hoodie and jeans.
He sat beside a man Yuya assumed to be his father. A bald man with a black beard. Dressed in a black suit and tie. The whistle of the kettle letting the man in black to pour the tea. Looking up from one of the cups,he smiled wide and began pouring tea for his guests.
"You must be Yuya Sakaki, the creator of Pendulum Summoning! I've heard so many good things about you! Welcome to Black and Wight academy!" said The man in black.
Going forward to shake Yuyas hand. Seemingly eager to introduce himself. His hands were cold to the touch. His voice was dark and smooth, like a midnight horror host or scary story reader.
"I'm Hugo Dorasin! I heard your going to be dueling my son Jeff today!" Hugo said, ruffling Jeff's hair. "... Hi." Was the young boy's reaction, Holding up a hand and waving it a small bit. "Jeff's shy. But he's one of our top Duelists! He's in the school's top 5. Along with my daughter Agatha.
Who knows not to slide on the railings!"
Hugo suddenly turned around and stared at the grand staircase north of Yuya. A little girl slid off the railing and harrumphed. Walking down the rest of the stairs with a pout. The girl,who Yuya assumed to be Agatha,was dressed like a Halloween witch. Black pointed shoes,green and orange stockings and a black dress with a skirt. A pointed witch cap on her head. About ten seconds later a black cat with a large pink bow on it's collar strutted down the stairs and into the girls lap as she sat on a nearby chair. The cat sniffed at Yuya's hand and began growling in warning as if he sensed something he didn't like. looking at Yuya as if to say "i have my eye on you boy.". Agatha began petting the cat to try and calm him down.
"Salem is usually very friendly towards everyone. i don't know why he's so agitated." Agatha turned to her father and said, seemingly worried at her pets odd behavior. Then suddenly looking excited to see Yuya. smiling wide and going to shake his hand,bouncing up and down like a spring as she shook poor Yuya's hand. "DADDY DADDY,ITS THE PENDULUM GUY!" she squeaked like a fan girl. clearly having seen Yuyas other duels recently.
"can I see him duel daddy? Please,please please?!" Agatha was clearly excited to see Yuya duel. Grinning like crazy,only to be interrupted by Jeff,oddly chiming in. "Dad said I'm supposed to duel him today…" and giving a small smile. Which made Agatha squeal again in excitement.
" 're going to scare the poor boy away hehe." Hugo said,smiling at his daughter. "Now that we're all together,shall we begin our duel?" Said Hugo,taking his daughter's hand gently,Hugo began to lead everyone through the back door.
Passing a kitchen where what smelled like cheese was cooking. . Hugo had Jeff lead Yuya into the greenhouse,which turned out to be the Action Duel Arena. The metal cage much bigger than what was available at You Show duel school. Allowing the Duelists more room to battle. Up on observation area stood Hugo, Agatha and Mr. Smiley.
"ACTION FIELD ACTIVATED,HAUNTED FOREST." spoke a female voice over the speakers. As the Action Field formed,Yuya immediately understood why it had that name. The field was a dark,moonlit forest with dense trees casting strange shadows along the ground. Branches resembling grasping hands. Up in the observation chamber,Hugo smiled.
"Yuya has no idea what Jeff has in store for him. Jeff's defenses are nearly air-tight." he thought to himself. "breaking through them is going to be one of the hardest things he'll ever have to do"
The coin toss for who goes first was a black coin with a white skull on one side and crossbones on the other side. Jeff called the skull,and got the choice right. As both duelists drew their opening hands,Jeff took off running towards what to be an old thatch hut in the distance.
"I'll start off by summoning one of my favorite main deck monsters. Come forth,Gozuki!'' the giant bull monster leaped onto the battlefield. Giant hammer ready to strike. The blue beads round his neck jingling as the bull moved.
"Next I activate Gozuki's ability! I send Starving Tragic Spirit from my deck to my Graveyard." the bull man snorted loudly and slammed his hammer onto the ground,creating a large crack and causing a black graveyard portal to appear. A heart monitor that quickly flat-lined could be heard. The monster resembled a young girl only a few years older than Yuya. Thin as a rail and wearing a blue hospital gown. Her hair blond,yet thin and brittle as straw.
"her effect lets me send another Tragic Spirit from my deck to my graveyard. I send Thirsty Tragic Spirit,and since he was sent from my deck to my graveyard by Tragic Spirit monster,I add Underworld Fusion from my deck to my hand."
The sound of ocean waves moving was heard next. This spirit resembled a man Hugo's age,though with the bags under his eyes he looked much older. His skin was horribly sun burnt and covered in blisters. His lips looked cracked and dry as dried mud. He wore an orange life jacket and what looked to be the remains of a Hawaiian floral patterned shirt and shorts. Like he used to be on a cruise ship. Descending into the portal,a card ejected itself out of Jeff's deck and into his hand.
"I activate my Underworld Fusion,shuffling my Tragic Spirits back into my deck." The card depicted a Fusion portal inside what appeared to be a large stone gate. Like the entrance to an underground chamber. Or the gate to Hell.
"Tragic Spirit who would not eat,Tragic Spirit who could not drink,merge your sorrow together and form the goddess of the dishonored dead! I Fusion Summon, Underlady Hel!"
A strange kind of,reverse flash happened and Yuya was temporarily blinded. Clearing away the spots from his eyes,Yuya saw the field had changed dramatically. The forest was still there,but it was covered in thick snow. Moaning could be heard on the frigid winds. Turning his eyes to the hut,only to see what looked like a frost covered Nordic hall. Protected by a high rising wall made of interlocking bones. Guarding the inside of the wall was a wolf hound with fur the color of dried blood the size of a bus. Pacing the wall as if guarding it. Scanning in front of the hall,Yuya finally saw the Fusion monster Jeff had summoned. She was woman dressed like a Nordic queen. A wolf fur cloak on her shoulders. One half of her body was beautiful,with piercing brown eyes and well groomed hair and nails. The other was the kind of pale blue a corpse left in snow might have. Eyes milky and piercing black. Looking down at Yuya from a throne in front of the hall. Smiling as if amused by his presence.
"what happened?" spoke Nico,scratching his head at the sight of the changed field. "Jeff's chain reaction summon. Hel activated her field spell,Underworld Realm - Helheim. Which summoned Underworld Guardian Garmer,which activated Underworld Gate - Wall Of Bones. The chained effects are Jeff's speciality." Hugo happily answered,tussling Agatha's hair.
Smirking down at Yuya. Wondering how the green haired boy will find a way to break through Jeff's defenses. "You should see some our other students duel! We have Ritual, the favored method of me and my mother. Fusion like Jeff has, and Xyz like my daughter has."
"I end my turn." Jeff said,smiling softly. An icy chair forming and allowing the duelist to sit down. "I'll start off by putting Stargazer Magician and Timegazer Magician in the Pendulum Zones! This Duels swinging my way starting now!" Yuya had begun experimenting with some new phrases after his duel with Reed. This one Zuzu seemed to like best. As the twin magicians rose into the Pendulum Zones,Jeff lifted a finger as if to say something. Or preparing who to pick.
"With Scale 8 Timegazer and Scale 1 Stargazer I can Pendulum Summon monsters from levels 2-7! I pick level 3 Performapal Acrobats,Sword Swallow and Drummerila!".
The sight of the Pendulum portal opening and releasing a green,red and blue light made Agatha squeal in delight. Hopping up and down and clapping her hands like a happy seal. Acrobats were 2 large bats in leotards,one blue and one pink. The pink bat was hanging by her feet from a large trapeze,holding the blue one by his ankles. Sword Swallow resembled a large swallow in a waist coat and bow-tie, a large two handed sword sticking out of his mouth. Drummerila resembled a large gorilla in similar attire. A pair of drums on his chest and boxing gloves on his hands.
"Acrobats special ability lets one Performapal attack directly in exchange only that monster can attack that turn." Yuya declared as Acrobats picked Sword Swallow up by his wing hands. Swinging back and forth,the sword dislodging and being gripped by Swallows talons. "During battle,Sword Swallow gains 200 attack for each Performapal on my field."

"Drummerila can give another Performapal 600 attack when it attacks!" the smiling gorilla happily beat his drums. Giving Swallow even more power. As the bird was released from the bats grip…there was an ungraceful crash into the wall. Falling down Swallow quickly righted himself and flew back to Yuya,placing his sword back in his beak.
"As long as I have my Wall,I take no Damage." Jeff said,nonchalantly. The sight of the crashing bird made Hel give a bemused chuckle. "I'll end my turn with a Face down-""I activate Hel's effect,I destroy your Acrobats."Yuya was suddenly interrupted by a blast of sudden snow and cold air. Freezing his bats solid before he could even react.
"My turn. I'll have Garmer attack your Swallow." Jeff shrugged and said. The giant dog phasing through the wall and running as if about to pounce on the bird."at the same time I activate Hel's effect. I destroy Drummerila." Jeff said,flicking his hand as another blast of cold snow and air rushed towards Yuya.
"Nice move Jeff! Force Yuya to choose which monster to save with an Action Card." Hugo was thinking since Yuya took off running as soon as the Garmer went to attack. Each strike coming from a different direction. Quickly leaping towards a card in a nearby tree. "I activate Miracle,my Swallow isn't destroyed and I take half the damage!". A disco ball-like sphere surrounded Swallow,Garmer's claws scratched at the shield futilely. Growling at Yuya as his life points lowered. Though the gorilla wasn't so lucky. Left frozen solid and destroyed. Causing Hel to chuckle once more.

"Hel can't attack if I use her ability. So you're safe for now. I set a card and end my turn." Jeff smiled and said,watching Garmer return behind the Wall." My turn,I draw!" Yuya declared. "Since Drummerila is a Pendulum monster,I can bring him back via Pendulum summoning!""Hel's effect. I destroy Sword Swallow." Yuya grunted as another Monster was destroyed. Once more the portal opened and Yuya's gorilla and a new monster appeared. A large cartoonish blue elephant appeared. With a giant mallet at the end of its trunk.
"With Elephhammers ability I can return that wall and weird field spell to his hand! Then I can really start doing some damage!" Yuya thought to himself. "Performapal Elephhammer,attack Gozuki!'' The giant elephant began charging towards the bull,only for a light blue barrier to stop him before his mallet could touch Gozuki.
"I activated Waboku before you attacked,so my bulls protected. I also Banish Mezuki from my hand to negate your Elephhammers ability." the giant wall seemingly dug itself into the ground deeper. The translucent spirit of a horse man wielding a spear appearing for a second. Making removing the large wall all that much harder. "I end my turn." Yuya grunted once more. Starting to get frustrated at not being able to make even the smallest dent in Jeff's life points or field.
Meanwhile at the Academy's underground training area
Under the watchful eye of Morrigan Dorasin the he 3rd,4th and 5th ranking duelists of the Black and Wight Academy Vladimir Orinstien, Alisha Marianner and Jakob "Jakel" Pharin began their training for the day. The old headmistress before her son Hugo took over, Morrigan was an odd old woman. Dressed in a simple grey frock and skirt. Along with a grey shawl covering the back of her head. Leaving her frizzy orange hair in a tight bun on her head,held by two thorn-like needles. Everyone at the academy knew while Ms Morrigan was a superb duelist at the best of times. When she pulled out those needles,her opponent was in for a world of HURT. The three were in an underground version of the Arena above. Stone walls padded with mats in case something went wrong.
"Begin Holoduelist challenge level 3!" Shouted Morrigan, slamming her raven headed cane down. A robotic female voice spoke,generating three computer controlled opponents to duel "HOLODUELIST CHALLENGE ACTIVATED. OPPONENTS SELECTED : JULIA KRYSTAL,KIT BLADE AND DIPPER ORION. CHALLENGE BEGINNING IN 3…2…1."
First to go was Vladimir with his duel disk shaped like a bat wing. Pale,black haired and handsome,Vladimir could have been mistaken for a handsome vampire,if not for the gray prosthetics on his ears and nose. The ears resembling huge bat ears,an earring in both. His nose resembling a huge bat nose; flat,wide and wrinkled. Combined with his anachronistic 1800s clothing, he looked like he just stepped out of a vampire novel.
"My turn,I shall start by activating ze field spell,Vampire Grand Castle!" a Transylvanian accent making the vampire comparison even more obvious. The underground chamber field was soon replaced with a grand Gothic castle interior;hard stone and red carpeting bound. The windows and pillars had a bat motif. Bats in flight,resting bats and bat faces decorated the castle.
" Next I activate Foolish Burial,sending Vampire Grimson from my deck to ze graveyard" descending into the Graveyard portal was a gray skinned vampire wearing a red cloak and more outdated clothing. Red bat wings stretching from his back. A large scythe with a bat wing design in his hands. " Due to my Castles Effect by paying 500 life points I can Normal summon Vampire Scarlet Scourge without tributing!" descending onto the field was a white haired vampire in more 1800s style clothing. A cane with a red orb in his hands. A cloak that dissolved into and emerged into bats on his back. Tapping his cane on the ground,Grimson reappeared out of a graveyard Portal. "by paying 1000 life points,I can resurrect my Grimson! I end my turn with 2 face downs."

"My turn,I Activate Brilliant Fusion! I send Gem Knight Garnet,Tourmaline and Lazuli from my deck to my graveyard to Fusion summon!" Julia on the other hand looked more normal; tan skin,balk hair. A blue half shirt over a yellow dress and black shorts. Duel disk the standard wide v shaped. Her continuous spell depicted a swirl of gems stones. A red crystal knight,an electric yellow knight and dazzling gray and blue female knight rose into the air as the fusion portal formed. Stacking hands before they fused.
"I summon Gem Knight Master Diamond!" a giant yellow and white knight with a huge broadsword descended onto the field. Looking at the vampires as if wanting to smite the undead creatures. " I add Tourmaline back to my hand via Lazulis effect. Then I discard Gem knight Fusion to return Master Diamonds attack to normal."

"By banishing my Garnet,I'll add Gem Knight Fusion back to my hand. Then I'll use it to fuse Tourmaline and Obsidian!" Another swirl of gems as the yellow knight and black knight with a ring of thick black stones around its back fused. Stacking hands as well." I summon Gem Knight Zirconia!".
A huge muscular knight with a purple cap and large gems instead of hands appeared. "Finally I can re-summon my Tourmaline thanks to Obsidian's effect!" the yellow knight shot out of a volcano that formed on Julia's field. Crouching down as if ready to spring into action at any time. "I'll end my turn with a face down."
"My turn! I activate my Field Spell "The Cursed Ship Queen Mary's Rage"!" up next was Alisha,dressed like a pirate queen.
Light tanned skin,red jacket and tricorned captains hat. Gray pants with tears near the bottom. Replica sword at her belt,her duel disk resembling a pirate's scimitar. Two pony tails keeping her brown hair out of her face. The Field suddenly changed once more,to an ancient and rotting pirate ship. The wood green from age and wear. The sails tattered and worn. Around the ship a black ocean that seemed to go on forever rocked the ancient vessel. The jolly roger depicted a skull and crossed spears.
"First I summon the Quartermaster of the Cursed Ship!" Out from a trapdoor on ship came a zombified pirate; wearing ragged dirty sailors clothes,boots patched to hell and back yet still broken in places. Breeches covered in tiny holes,exposing his gray ragged skin. His beard was more like a rats nest upon his sunken and sallow face. Jaw hanging down despite the cloth wrapped around the bottom of it. In one hand he held a whip,a saber in the other.
"Thanks to my field spell I can normally summon an additional Cursed Ship monster per turn. Come forth Navigator of the Cursed Ship!" a second zombified pirate rose from the trapdoor. Dressed in a ragged blouse and short breeches. A compass in his hand,the needle constantly spinning around as if something was messing with it. A saber in his hand as well.
"Then I Target your Tourmaline and your Master Diamond with my monsters abilities! Stealing 2 levels from both of them! Level Plunder! Their level 7 because my ship gives all Cursed ship Monsters 1 level. " the two pirates pointed their sabers at the two gem knights. A beam of black electricity zapping them and causing the zombies to moan in dark pleasure.

"Then I activate the Spell Shanghaied Aboard The Cursed Ship! Now since I'm about to Xyz Summon,I can use Master Diamond as well!"
Dark Captain Cursed to sail the seas forever,come forth and drag my enemies to Davy Jones Locker! I Xyz summon! Johannes,Captain of the Cursed Ship!"
The two pirates dissolved into streams of blue light before a swirling galaxy portal opened and pulled them. A rusty chain shooting out and wrapping around Master Diamond. Turning him into a brown streak of light similar to the pirates Out of the portal came a zombie pirate captain dressed similarly to his mistress. Though his jacket and breeches looked like they haven't been removed for decades. He wielded a much bigger blade then crew members,yet covered it just as corroded and rusty as his crews. A flintlock pistol in his free hand. His eyes glowed with a deep red light.
Pointing at Dipper,Alisha smiled wickedly and said "my Captain's ability can converts levels to Ranks,but if my opponents has no monsters,he can just steal 1000 life points instead!" The zombie captain pointed at the purple haired boy and shot a bolt of lack lightning from the tip of his sword. Letting out a hearty,dark chuckle as well as he did the same to the brown haired Kit. "He can do it twice due to having his Ship on the field." Alisha smirked and said.

"i chained the Captain's ability to my Vampire Dark Feeding Trap! Now I gain life points whenever an opponent takes Effect Damage." One of Vladimir's Traps rose up,depicting the old card Vampire Lord biting into a woman in a black dress's neck.
"since my Opponent took Effect damage I can Perform Fusion Summon Using monsters in my hand via Dessercated Sandstorm Fusion." said Jakel,holding up a card in his hand. Like his ally he was tanned,but practically wrapped head to do in gauze like a mummy. a long white robe covering most of his body. Gold Kohl eyeliner was the only real color his outfit had. Giving him the look of a mummy trying to hide from sight. His disk resembled an Ankh,the handle functioning as the monster zones.
A raging sandstorm soon blinded the other duelists. Covering their faces as the center of the storm formed a blinding yellow and red fusion portal. "I fuse Dessercated Set Beast and Dessercated Falcon!" floating into the portal was what looked to be a zombified jackal greyhound hybrid. With ears long long thin upside-down cones. Looking like it had buried in the desert sands for a hundred years,it looked so dry and thin. Along a similar mummified falcon. So thin its ribs were clearly visible. Its feathers were replaced with wrappings of Gauze around its arm bones.
"Beast of the Lord of the Desert,Beast of the Lord of the Skies,come together and form the Lord of Mummification!"
Rising out of the sandstorm was a gold sarcophagus,which was slowly opened by another gauze wrapped creature. A humanoid Jackal with its fingers and toes exposed. Flesh bald underneath the bandages. An ankh necklace,hanging over its chest. Charms made of gold peeking out of different places of its gauze. Wrappings loose around its mouth. Leaving sand and salt to spill from its jaws. "since Set Beast and Falcon were used as summon materiel, they are banished. But they leave my Anubis with gifts. Falcon lets me allow Anubis to Set a Dessercated Trap from my deck as a Quick effect. Set Beast lets me inflict 1000 Damage to my opponent as a Quick effect!" A card Appeared on Jakel's field,while the Jackal exhaled a plume of salt dust at the other Duelists.

"I'll now Activate my Captain's Ability. Once per turn I can Detach an Overlay Unit to add a Cursed Ship spell or trap from deck to my Hand. I can Add 2 since he's the monster on the field with the highest Level/Rank. I end my turn after setting them bkth. ''After Alisha came Kit,the brown haired Synchro user. With a white sleeveless jacket with black sleeve around the waist and black pants. Before he could even do anything, a rope wrapped around Gem Knight Tourmaline's wrists and dragged him under the black water.
"Keelhauling Under The Cursed Ship. He's banished until the end of the turn." Said Alisha, revealing a trap depicting a sailor bound by his ankles held in the air. Julia grunted in annoyance.
"I Summon XX-Saber Boggart Knight." a tanned hobgoblin like knight with gray spiked pauldrons and a rapier descended onto the field. "I can also Summon XX-Saber Fulhelmknight from my hand!" a blond knight with what looked to a cross between an electro whip and sword descended onto the field. Only to be mobbed with bats before she could fully emerge. "I activated Vampire Domination,negating your effect! Along with giving me life points equal to Boggart knights attack."

"i activate Foolish Burial,I send XX-Saber Ragigura from my deck to my graveyard." a small chameleon-like knight wearing plate-like armor and wearing a red cloak began its descent into a graveyard portal,only for it to turn into a portal to a desert. "I counter with the continuous Trap Dessercated Burying Sands! Since I control a Dessercated Fusion Monster,all monsters sent to your graveyard are Banished instead!" another void leading what looked to be a cell like area shot out a chain and dragged Boggart Knight in.
"I activated Brig Of The Cursed Ship! Banishing your monster!" replied Alisha, showing another trap card. kit only grunted in irritation at the constant countering. Setting a card,he passed his turn to after his turn ended,Tourmaline returned from the other side of the ship. Another blast of salt from Anubis hitting the trio once more. "When your monster is returned,its stats are now halved and you take 1000 damage."

"I'll put another trap down with Anubis's effect this turn. I don't need to do anything else." Jakel shrugged and said. Adding his draw to his hand nonchalantly. "i summon Consteller Algiedi, allowing me to Summon Consteller Kaus from my hand!"
dipper was a purple hair that stood straight up,a star headband on his hair line. He wore a blue jacket with pink sides. A light purple shirt peeking out from the jacket. Along with white pants. Consteller Algiedi was a knight in silver plate armor with a wand with diamonds on the sides and fin like ears on the head. A blue cape flowing from her back. Consteller Kaus was a centaur like monster with a golden bow. Its joints were blue spheres,while a sliver cape fluttered off its upper half's shoulders and fluttered like a tail on his back. Before dipper could do anything with his first monster,it was dragged under the ship like Julia"s monster last turn. A few seconds afterwards blistering sandstorm began kicking up as well. Originating from Jakel's new trap.
"Dessercated Blinding Sandstorm. When an opponent's monster is Banished, my opponents take 1000 points of damage." Jakel said,smiling under his bandages. Enjoying his team's victory.

"WINNER VLADIMIR,ANN AND JEKAL. FLAWLESS VICTORY." Added the robotic voice as the holograms faded away. The victorious trio giving each high fives and thanking each other for their contributions. "Excellent work! Take a ten minute break and we'll continue the training." Morrigan clapped and said, proud of the students' third consecutive Flawless Victory. Maybe next time she should give harder opponents for them.
Agatha was definitely enjoying the show her brother was putting on with the pendulum guy. Yuya was his name? Agatha wasn't fully paying attention,she was too excited at meeting him!
