When Gwen Stacy attended Burnside College she noticed that Burnside was definitely the perfect place for hipsters and millennials. She hoped that she would not attract too much attention.

She tried looking for her first class.

"Hey, are you Gwen Stacy?"

Gwen turned around to see a woman in casual clothes and fiery red hair. She looked like she was her age.

"Yes?" that came out more of a question than an answer. Why did this woman know her name?

"I'm supposed to be your guide until you know how to get around on your own, since your guardian said you're from New York, Queen's to be more specific", the woman explained.

"Oh thanks..."

"Barbara Gordon but my friends call me Babs", she greeted.

"Thanks...Babs".

"I like your hair, and your style...you look like you're in band", Barbara complimented.

"Oh yeah I am, I'm a drummer, my band's called the Mary Janes".

"Cool I like girls from band's".

Gwen blushed at that. Was she flirting?

"Uh I...well I meant to say girl band's and punk rock music... because bands are cool and they make music and one of my best friends are in one, not too mention I go to a lot of concerts which includes girls as front singers and..."

Barbara just continued rambling and Gwen just stared at her wondering if they would work. Not as friends though as Babs was beautiful and she was totally hitting on her even though they just met but Gwen decided that they should start out as friends first. Also all her friends seemed to be dating someone, which she didn't understand but nothing important was going on at the moment.

"I'll play you my band's music sometime", She said after feeling like she should stop Barbara's babbling.

"Can we hang out after you and I are done with our classes?" Barbara was asking her out.

"Sure I don't have any plans".

"Awesome".

After classes were done Gwen found Barbara hanging outside the center.

"Ready?"

"Only if you are, Babbles", Gwen teased.

Barbara blushed at the new nickname she was given out of embarrassment.

"So are we even going anywhere Babbles?"

"Is that nickname going to stick?"

"What do you think Red?" Gwen thought about teasing her on the whole trip to their destination, "Babbles is funny and I like funny, also it's your nervous like habit when you're around me, which is understandable... I'm awesome".

"Oh we'll see about that little miss confidence", Barbara mocked.

Barbara took her inside a club and they danced around to the music... Barbara was doing most of the dancing. And she was really into the music! She somehow had this look of desire when she looked at Gwen.

Before she could figure out what she was thinking Barbara pressed her lips against Gwen's.

She was taken by surprise, then she kissed her back. Gwen woke up in a room that wasn't her's. When she rolled over she found Barbara sleeping next to her. She only realized that she didn't have her clothes on when the symbiote formed into her new clothes. She felt like that was her cue to leave.

"Mmmm, Gwen you look pretty when you're in bed", Barbara smiled. Gwen was taken by surprise that she was awake but didn't see her symbiote form.

"I've got to go Babs but I'll see you later–"

"Wait...are you leaving?"

"Well I don't know...maybe? I guess".

"Stay for some coffee, and we can talk about...last night".

After Barbara made coffee for two Gwen couldn't help but feel awkward.

"So I was looking at you and thinking early in the morning".

"What exactly happened between us Babs?"

"That's where I'm getting at. You're the first girl I've been in bed with and I'm not saying it was bad... I actually kind of...liked it and I like you".

Gwen's face was bright pink and she couldn't believe that she's only been in this dimension for a day and already she's developing romantic feelings but as much as she wanted to say she agreed with Barbara and that she liked her too she had to keep her safe from. And if she ever found out that she was Ghost Spider then Gwen might lose another loved one.

"I don't", Gwen lied.

"What?" Barbara whispered looking heartbroken.

"I gotta go", Gwen left the apartment building in a hurry.

Ever since that day things got awkward for Gwen and Barbara but it was clear that Barbara still had feelings for her and Gwen was drawn to her.

"When she didn't have somewhere to be she would follow Barbara in secret. Although she was telling her friends that she was all right, she was actually lying and Gwen knew why.

Gwen decided to talk to Barbara.

"Um...hey Babbles", Gwen awkward greeted.

"Oh...hey", Barbara seemed embarrassed to see her.

"Look I want to talk about the other night".

"Gwen–"

"I was being a dick and we had a great time and I don't want things to be awkward between us so... friends?"

"Yes! I mean, yeah we can work there".

Present day

Ghost Spider was thinking about Barbara until Batgirl joined her on the water tower.

"Batgirl can I ask you something?"

"As long as it's not personal".

"Do you know how to talk to a girls who want to date you?"

"That sounds personal"

"Ugh nevermind".

"What's your problem? I see your head's in the clouds", Batgirl teased.

"Yeah yeah, so why are we here?"

"You could tell me,what did you find out about Mania?"

"She's planning on building a machine but I don't know what. She's planning to bring her kind in through a teleporter".

"Do you know where she is?"

"Yes, follow me"

With that Ghost Spider jumped off the building and started swinging. Batgirl joined her, wondering why she asked her for relationship advice.
