Chapter 4: Waltzing with the Devil

With that Naruto pressed one of his clawed fingers against Allen's left eye, and with one movement, he cut deeply into the eye.

"GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" Allen screamed in pain as Naruto pulled his blood-soaked paw away.

Road smirked as she grabbed his wrist and licked the blood, making Naruto blush under his mask.

She started to chuckle as Allen gripped his left eye, now useless, as Miranda looked away, unable to watch Road and Naruto hurt Allen.

Road stopped chuckling as she put her hands on her hips, unamused.

"I don't think anything of killing these insignificant humans." She told Allen. "I just Haaate this world full of worthless beings~ You should all just die and go away."

Naruto slumped as his eyes saddened.

"Uhm, do you include me, Lady Road?" Naruto asked, his voice echoing through the mouth plate.

Road's eyes widened as she realized what she said.

"Oh, no, I didn't mean you, Naruto." Road reassured as Naruto squatted, arms around his legs as depression lines appeared on his head.

"Shepherd!" Kazekiri and Pang gasped as Ice knelt before Naruto.

'What are they doing?' Allen thought as he forced his tired body to stand, pressing against the wall to stabilize himself.

"You know, God…" Road muttered to Allen, rubbing Naruto's back to cheer him up. "He wishes for this world to come to an end. That's why he rewarded the Millennium Count and us with the Akuma."

Allen steeled his resolve as he made it to his feet.

"That isn't God's Will…" he gasped as his arm transformed into a canon. "It's the Devil's."

"Who cares?" Road replied. "Either way is fine."

Allen pushed off the wall, arm cannon prepped, his focus on Road and Naruto.

The three Akuma surrounded them as Road stood up.

"Can't you kill us?" Road asked as she flashily threw Allen's jacket off as she helped Naruto stand, helping him wipe his eyes of the liquid in them.

Miranda flinched and gave a cry of fear as Ice engulfed Allen in flames before Kazekiri pushed him back with his blades of wind.

"THAT'S WHAT YOU GET, EXORCIST FUCK!" Pang shouted as he stayed by Naruto.

"ALLEN!" Miranda shouted in fear as Allen hit the ground, smoke and blood surrounding his tired form.

"What's wrong?" Road taunted. "Two Akuma to much for you?"

"He is weakened, so it isn't really fair." Naruto added.

"Oh, hush you." Road replied as she pinched his cheek and pulled it before she released it to go sit next to Lenalee.

Road's attention went to Miranda, who started to feel a cold sweat form Road's gaze.

"N-no… help…" Miranda choked out.

Road smirked as she put her hand on Naruto's head.

"It's time to 'release' her, Naruto." Road ordered, making Naruto nod. "Kill her and take the Innocence."

"Of course, Lady Road." Naruto said as he walked towards Miranda.

"Please… stop…" Miranda begged as Naruto stopped before her, his red eyes holding no sympathy that he held before. "Naruto…"

"I am sorry, Miranda." Naruto said as he raised his hand, the claws shining in the dark matter before it took the form of a paw. "But I will never disobey Lady Road."

He brought his hand down upon Miranda, only to duck as Allen attacked him from behind, making Naruto jump away from Allen, landing on all fours and growling like an animal.

"Hahahahahahahahaha…" Road laughed as Naruto stayed on all fours, the dark matter pulsing on the gauntlets and greaves.

"A-Allen…" Miranda gasped as the beaten teen grabbed the stakes holding her to her clock and pulling them out, making her cry in pain.

Miranda fled several feet away against the wall, gasping as she realized Allen wasn't near her, slumping to his knees at her clock.

"Allen…?" She asked as Naruto stalked towards Allen. "Allen…Don't… Don't die…"

"It's…" Allen muttered as he raised his head to look at her with a pained reassuring smile. "It's alright…"

Miranda clenched her hands tightly in self-loathing as Naruto stopped before Allen, the dark matter oozing out of his gauntlets and channeled through his finger tips, making them sharper.

"Nothing but false hope." Naruto stated to the exorcist. "Allen, you hurt Miranda with those words more than if you had stayed silent."

Miranda shot off the wall and wrapped her arms around Allen to protect him from Naruto, shakily staring at him.

"What now, wench?" Pang demanded as he, Kazekiri, and Ice stood before the clock.

"What are you doing, Miranda?" Naruto asked sincerely, regaining some sympathy. "You want to hasten your death?"

Miranda started to laugh nervously as butterflies flooded her stomach.

"Ha…HAhahaha… What am I really doing…?" She shakily replied. "But…but…"

"Humans can't do anything!" Pang shouted making Miranda cower.

At that moment, a ripple of power and light shot from the clock, making Naruto cover his sensitive eyes with his hand.

'The reason I am no good…' Miranda thought as her hair bun broke, letting her hair flow free as air whipped it around. 'Even though I can't do anything well, I will attempt it anyways. Even though I decide to not try anymore, I regret it, and I end up trying again.'

A memory of her as a child tearfully sewing back a doll flashed through her mind, trying her best to fix her doll, but the stitches were not good enough, thus it broke open again.

'After all, I can't do anything right, its better of I don't try at all.' Miranda thought as she remembered the bandages on her fingers from all her attempts that day as the light got brighter from her clock. 'I'm an idiot, aren't I?'

As the light lessened and stabilized, Road and Naruto were wide eyed at the activation of the Innocence.

'What can this Innocence do?' Road thought as she cupped her chin as she sat down.

The clock hands spun, ripples of light going through again as it rang, making multiple mini clock faces form around her and Allen.

They formed a dome around Miranda and Allen, black with white clock faces around it, keeping the Akuma, Road, and Naruto out.

"Miranda…" Allen gasped weakly before four of the clock faces passed through him, making him shoot up suddenly to see his wounds were gone and his left eye was healed.

"I see, you were compatible after all…" Allen said fondly as he gripped his hand.

"What is this?" Ice asked.

"Mistress Road, Shepherd, you think we can try to touch this?" Pang asked curiously.

Ice went to touch it, only for his arm to get severed as Allen's arm shot forward towards Road.

Naruto's eyes were wide before he kicked off from his position, using his dark matter to make the hind legs to increase his speed to grab Road in his arms before Allen grabbed the chair with Lenalee in it before pulling it into the small dome.

"Lady Road, are you alright?" Naruto asked in concern.

"I am fine, thank you for the save." Road said as she ruffled Naruto's hair before she turned to the dome. "Did you notice? His wounds had been healed.

"That is Miranda's Innocence? Such a beautiful power." Naruto said as he looked at the dome.

"FUCK!" Ice shouted as his arm stump was in massive amount of pain as he rolled across on the floor.

"It's going to be alright, Ice." Naruto said as he put Road down and walked over to Ice, touching the Akuma as his words calmed the tortured weapon. "See, the bleeding is stopping."

"I see." Ice replied calmly.

"You feeling better, Ice?" Pang asked in concern.

"Yes, I do." Ice replied as he stood up next to Kazekiri.

"If you three are done," Road stated as she held Lero in her hand. "Get that Innocence."

"Yes, Mistress Road." The three Akuma answered in unison as they surrounded the clock dome.

"YOU BASTARDS COME OUT ALREADY!" Ice shouted as he attacked with his fire breath.

Lenalee shot out of the dome, her Dark Boots activated.

"Waltz of the Tempest." She announced as she countered Ice's attack.

"WHAT THE HELL IS WITH THIS WIND!" Pang shouted as he, Ice and Kazekiri were pushed slightly by the wind. "DAMN I CAN'T SEE!"

Road held her arm up to keep debris out of her eyes as Naruto stayed close to Road.

"WHERE ARE YOU EXORCIST!" Pang shouted before he gasped as Allen appeared above him, pressing his cannon arm against Pang's head.

"Right here." Allen stated before he shot Pang into the ground, destroying the pumpkin headed akuma.

"Hehe… Exorcists are interesting, aren't they, Naruto?" Road asked Naruto.

"Yes, these two especially." Naruto replied as Lenalee and Allen turned and faced the two of them.

"Come on, fight us, Road, Naruto." Allen declared.

"Allen, isn't that child… wait, Naruto?" Lenalee asked as she recognized the boy, despite his face being obscured. "Akuma?"

"No." Allen replied as he kept his guard up. "Human."

Lenalee's eyes widened before they became emotionless.

"I see." She said sadly.

Road held her hand up and wrote in the air, letters appearing as she did.

"Allen Walker, 'The one who can see souls of Akuma'." Road chirped. "Actually, I heard about you from the Millennium Count, so I know a bit about you."

Allen quirked an eyebrow.

"You became an exorcist to save akuma souls, right?" Road asked as she gave him a taunting tone. "Because you were curse by your beloved father."

Allen didn't reply to Road's taunts as he glared at her.

"Hm… I knew that if I was to involved with anyone, it would be you." Road said sweetly.

Naruto and Allen held shocked expressions.

Road floated into the air as she stood on Lero, hands behind her head.

"Hey, you…" She called out to Ice.

"Yes, Mistress Road?" Ice asked.

"Self-destruct." Road ordered.

"EH?" Ice replied in disbelief.

Allen looked on in shock and disbelief as Road pointed toward Lero.

"Umbrella, start a ten count." Road ordered.

"Te… TEN!" Lero shouted in fear.

"Wait… Mistress Road…" Ice stammered in fear. "Not that… I was finally able to evolve this far!"

"NINE."

Road ignored Ice, making him start to panic as he looked around to get away.

"EIGHT."

"It's going to be fine." Naruto announced as he walked up to Ice, his eyes and tone sad.

"Shepherd…" Ice whimpered as he lowered himself to Naruto's level.

"SEVEN."

"I know its scary," Naruto continued as he took Ice's face in his hands. "But it will be okay."

Ice's anxiety faded as he relaxed.

"Okay, I believe you, Shepherd." Ice said as Naruto pressed his forehead against Ice's.

"SIX."

"What are you up to?" Allen demanded.

"You know, if an akuma is destroyed by any means, other than innocence," Road stated as she watched Naruto soothe Ice. "For instance, if it self-destructs, the akuma's soul will disappear into dark matter. Did you know that?"

"FIVE."

"And you can't save it after that, can you?" Road asked insultingly with a sick smirk.

Allen realized Road's words meant.

"FOUR."

"NO STOP IT!" Allen shouted as he went to run towards Ice.

"THREE."

"NO, ALLEN, YOU WON'T MAKE IT!" Lenalee shouted as Allen ignored her.

"TWO."

'Before it blows up, destroy it!' Allen thought desperately as he prepared to fire his Innocence to destroy Ice.

"ONE."

Ice tensed in pain.

"UGYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" Ice shouted as his body bloated before it exploded in Naruto's face.

Allen was unable to process what he witnessed as Lenalee appeared and pulled him away from the explosion.

His left eye allowed him to see the soul of Ice be destroyed into dark matter as it reached out toward Allen.

'Help… me…' the soul pleaded before it vanished completely.

"KYAhahahahahahaha…" Road laughed from on high.

"Ice… it will be okay…" Naruto wept, his tears moving over his mask as he was unscathed from the explosion. "I promise…"

Allen disengaged his Innocence, allowing it to return to its natural red arm state as he angrily gripped his face.

"WHY DID YOU STOP ME!?" He shouted at Lenalee.

Lenalee punched Allen.

"BECAUSE WE ARE FRIENDS!" Lenalee shouted back.

"Great, great." Road cheered as Kazekiri moved silently. "Running head first into an explosion. HOW AMUSING!"

"You…" Allen growled.

"BUT…" Road chirped as she pointed towards Miranda. "Are you sure it's safe for her?"

Kazekiri took off to attack Miranda.

Allen reacted to shoot Kazekiri, only for Naruto to appear, grab his cannon and point it upward, making Allen miss before Naruto punched Allen in the stomach hard enough for Allen to cough up blood as he hit the wall.

KAzekiri prepared his attack, but was killed when Lenalee's Dark Boots cut him in half.

Road landed on the ground, her glance at Naruto making him power down, his eyes remaining red for a bit before they returned to their cerulean blue.

"You destroyed it. Well, let's call it quits for now." Road stated casually as she walked past Lenalee and Miranda. "That was more fun than I had expected."

Naruto followed Road as she made a door.

"Bye." Road called out before she stopped when Allen pressed his innocence against her head. "Do you hate me?"

Allen gasped in pain as he made himself look up at them.

"Your hand is also a weapon, Allen." Naruto pointed out.

"But an exorcist crying because an akuma was destroyed is a big no-no." Road taunted as she stepped forward, away from Allen. "If you act like that, no one will like you."

Road stepped through the door where Naruto started to follow.

"Let's play again, but next time, it will be under the Count's scenario." Road chirped.

"Naruto…" Allen gasped out. "What… your power… why is it…"

"I am under no obligation to explain, Allen Walker." Naruto replied as he looked down at Allen, Lenalee, and Miranda. "Until we meet again."

He stepped through Road's door, which closed.

Allen, Miranda, and Lenalee blinked as they were teleported back to Miranda's apartment.

Meanwhile…

Naruto stood beside his master as they walked through the Ark.

"Naruto, you still upset?" Road asked as she walked before him. "You sad Ice had to die? Same with Pang and Kazekiri?"

Naruto nodded.

"They were my precious lambs." Naruto answered as he kept his emotions back. "As their shepherd, I failed to keep them from being devours by the wolves."

Road turned to Naruto, who stopped when she stopped.

"You really are a sweet boy." Road said as she smiled. "So, because you did such a good job today, what do you want?"

"Want?" Naruto asked dumbly, his head tilted to the side.

"As a reward." Road explained. "Ask for anything you want, and I'll make sure you get it."

Naruto went red, nervousness bubbling in his stomach as he avoided Road's gaze while pressing his fingers together.

"A-Anything I want?" He asked nervously.

"Yes, anything." Road replied.

Naruto swallowed the lump in his throat before he walked up to Road, put his hands on her shoulders, his face blushing and eyes nervous before he pulled her in and kissed Road.

Chapter 4, DONE!

Oh, shit, Naruto is taking a big risk here with his reward of choice.

Well, now I can make some original content during the section where Lavi is introduced as Allen's left eye is messed up.
