Chapter 4 - Final
Ji Eun's heart skip a beat. How could he have guessed her thoughts. She liked to think that he understands her. She decided to state the truth and see his reaction. It was her birthday after all; so maybe her wish will come true tonight. Maybe he will declare that he loves her and wants to spend the rest of his life with her.
She bluntly and playfully answered:
"네 ~~(Yes) Oppa ! That's exactly what I thought about. How did you guess?
"Because….well….." he stuttered.
He's so cute when he's confused, she said to herself.
"What!" he commented doubtful. "What….I'm what when I'm confused?" he added in shock.
"Ah…did I say that out loud?" She was taken aback by her mistake.
"Hum…..I'm just tired…미안해요…Sorry oppa. Good night..See you..and".
She couldn't finish her sentence as Jeon Seok Ssi suddenly hugged her. He put his hand in her hair and stroked them. Then he whispered in her ears, with a sweet voice:
"I love you Ji Eun Ah, I love you! Happy Birthday".
He buried his eyes into hers, then looked at her lips.
Ji Eun followed how his eyes were moving and told herself "He wants to kiss me for my birthday?"
Her heart fluttered; she couldn't handle his gaze; so she closed her eyes and felt his lips against hers.
"He loves me! He does love me!" realising that, a warm chill run through her body.
Their kiss was sweet and full of love, tenderness and care.
Jeon Seok broke their kiss and looked at his loved one anxiously.
She wanted to ease his mind, so she simply leaned towards him and whispered back those four words:
"I love you too oppa!".
He deepened his embrace, then lifted her from the floor and twirled.
"You know Ji Eun Ah, it might be your birthday today, but for me you're like a Christmas gift. I miss you when I don't see you and I'm so happy when you're with me!"
At that moment he was confident that he could give her all the happiness she deserved.
"Oppa, I'm so happy having you by my side. If the people that ship us knew we were finally together, they would exult with joy. Their ship is finally sailing. Did you know that international fans call us JoU couple! They are so funny; even writing fanfictions about how we felt in love".
"Really?! So, let's post on Instagram a picture taken with all your friends tonight for your birthday. They will have material to discuss about" he jokingly proposed.
It was the beginning of their romance. And they could feel they were meant to be. Their love will burn hard enough to last for lifetime.
Holding hands, fingers crossed, they parted ways in front of Jeon Seok's car. He left, promising to call her back as soon as he reaches home. Ji Eun watched her hands and melted inside remembering the feeling of his hand pressing hers.
That was definitely the best birthday ever!
