Everyone slept through the night in Hartford. Sarah, Finn and Rory were up with the kids around 8. They got everyone changed and then went down for breakfast. Sarah left Jess a note that they were downstairs having breakfast and he was welcome to join them when he got up. They all figured after last night he could use the extra sleep.
Jess never made it down for brekkie. When they returned to the room after breakfast Sarah went to check on Jess. He was just beginning to stir.
"Good morning. Where are the kids?" What time is it?"
"Morning Jess. It is 10:14. The kids are in the main room with Finn and Rory. We just came back up from having breakfast. We thought you needed the sleep. We brought you back some breakfast."
"Holy crap. I didn't even hear anyone get up or anything. How did I get to bed last night? The last thing I remember is going to take a shower. How is Doula this morning? Is she ok?"
"You told me that you were going to go take a shower. You were in there a long time and when I went to check on you, you were sitting in the shower with the water running in your boxers crying and incoherent. Finn and Rory had just got back when I came to check on you. Finn helped me get you out of the shower and I helped you get into pajamas and got you to bed. You cried in my arms last night and finally fell asleep sometime about 1 am. Doula seems to be fine. She sure enjoyed eating her scrambled egg and cut up fruit for breakfast."
"Thank you for taking care of me last night. Let me just get dressed and I will go eat my breakfast."
Jess got dressed and walked into the main room and thanked Finn for helping Sarah with him last night. He had his breakfast and the kid just enjoyed playing cars on the floor for the next little bit. Luke and his family came about 1 and they all went swimming. At 4 they put all the kids down for a nap. They were all exhausted and were out in no time flat.
The adults took this chance to sit and talk. They all wanted to make sure that Jess and Luke were doing ok. They both seem to be taking it all in stride. Buddy and Maisy joined them in their suite at 6 and they all went down and met Finn's family and had a lovely dinner in the private dining room. Everyone had a great night and enjoyed each other's company and hated for the evening to end. They all promised that days like this would become regular events for all of them.
