Bella was out scouting the city. She hadn't ran into anymore Vampire's in quite a while, it was making her nervous. Where were they? Was she still being hunted? She assumed so, somehow highly doubting that Victoria had suddenly just given up on her.
Bella wore her backpack with everything she had left inside. It was time to find another hotel as well while she was trying to find clues as to what had happened with Victoria's scouts.
The city was huge and she had surely walked a few miles now just wandering when she heard a loud crash. She looked up to the high way that she was about to walk under. Bella jumped out of the way as a tire came falling from the freeway. She looked up to see smoke as more and more cars piled up. Just thinking that it was a nasty wreck she turned to leave before she heard gun shots than an explosion.
Suddenly a man came flying down from the crash site, his body going through the window of a bus on the road next to Bella. A clang gathered her attention and she turned to see a red white and blue shield land in the road. It had to of been the man that she saw chasing her mystery friend. She looked back at the shield and noticed the star in the middle of it.
"Holy shit.." Suddenly it hit her why he had seemed so familiar before. It was fucking CAPTAIN AMERICA! One of the buildings Bella had jumped into to hide when she first got to New York was the Captain America museum. What the fuck was going on…..
But wait if he was here than that meant….. Sure enough she looked up to see the man she still dreamed about. His metal arm gleaming in the sunlight. She quickly stood behind a street light and watched as he stood near the edge with a gun looking around. Who was he looking for she wondered than noticed a gorgeous red head under the bridge looking up. The woman had her guns aimed at him. Bella quickly threw her shield up around him. She didn't know what was going on but Bella wasn't going to let him die. Whatever was happening wasn't her business and she would stay out of it except if he needed protection.
The red head fired off several shots that either missed or bounced off Bella's shield. Nobody noticed luckily it seemed since he had quickly dived for cover after hearing the first gun shot.
Red ran off quickly but metal man jumped down landing perfectly and began chasing her. Bella followed in case he needed help but she made sure to stay back far enough that she wasn't noticed.
Gun shots exploded behind her and she stopped momentarily to look back seeing Captain America hiding behind his shield as several men were shooting at him. The man was smart though as he tilted his shield causing the bullets to ricochet and shoot back at his enemies. One man though had snuck up behind and fired a single shot towards the Captain before another man with dark skin and a short beard shot him down. Bella still quickly blocked the bullet from hitting the Captain before she ran off to try to catch up to Red and Metal.
She saw up ahead as Metal threw Red off his back. The woman hit a car hard before throwing something back that latched onto his metal arm. It shot off sparks and he couldn't move his hand. As he ripped the device off, Red ran again. Bella noticed as he made a fist and moved his arm to make sure it still worked. Bella let out a sigh of relief but he looked pissed than he took off after the woman. Bella ran to catch up, she didn't want him to get hurt but she also didn't want him to do anything he might regret later.
She saw him jump onto a car and look around trying to find the woman. Bella quickly ducked behind a car and watched. He must have found Red because he lifted his gun to shot, Bella was ready to block it if she had to but suddenly Captain America came running up. Metal fired at him instead but his shield kept him safe.
When Metal went to reload his gun the Captain attacked. She watched in awe as both men went hand to hand. They seemed equally matched. The Captain tried to use his shield against Metal but he caught it easily and tossed it aside. Every punch every kick thrown by one was easily blocked or countered by the other. It was amazing and Bella couldn't lie…. She was slightly turned on at how Metal man easily kept up with Captain America.
As they were fighting she noticed how the Captain slowly made his way back to his shield. When he was close enough he grabbed and used it to block all the blows by the metal arm. When Metal man went to punch again the Captain grabbed his arm and flipped him over him tossing him several feet.
Metal stood up but his mask had fallen off. If Bella was in awe before she was stunned now. The man was gorgeous. A strong draw line with stubble. She was ecstatic to finally know what he looked like.
She looked back at the Captain to see him just standing there with his mouth agape.
"Bucky?" The Captain asked
Was that his name that he had forgotten?
"Who the hell is Bucky?" Metal asked clearly confused.
While Captain America was stunned, Bucky? She assumed was his name now, reached for a gun. He aimed but the short beard from earlier came flying in and kicked Bucky. And when I say flying. I mean it literally. He had these large metal wings. Seriously… Bella wondered. What the ever-living fuck was going on?!
Sirens came blaring nearby. Everyone looked towards the sound even Bella but she quickly looked back to check on Bucky noticing he had gotten away. She let out a deep breath. Thank goodness she thought.
Bella stayed back as several black cars came out of nowhere and surrounded Red, Captain and Wings. A bunch of men that looked like a swat team came out with guns pointed towards the three screaming at them to get down. Why would Captain America be getting arrested? Something wasn't right. They shoved him down on the ground forcing his face to the side with his cheek flat against the concrete. Bella looked at him from under the car she was hiding behind. His eyes looked directly at her. Shit. He looked confused at first than his eyes softened and he mouthed the words 'stay hidden'. Bella nodded than watched as they were all loaded up in the vans and carted off to God knows where.
