The River's Edge
God Brooke look at this. You've created an uncomfortable silence. This is why you don't reveal such personal information to a guy you are only just getting to know. You're 32 with two failed marriages who wants to be with someone with all that baggage.?" Brooke thought to herself.
"You know i think this was a mistake. Meeting up like this. You just make feel nervous. And i end up talking revealing things. I don't like talking about. I'm gonna go." Brooke said. Getting up from where she was seated.
"Don't go. I wasn't judging. Just processing. Becoming a father when i did wasn't boys are my life. The only reason my career went anywhere is because they needed me to keep going. Let's just say you aren't the only one with a past. I've never been married but i want to be. If i were to meet the right person."
"What about you.? Have you given up on the idea of love and having a family.?" Lucas asked.
Brooke thought it over. Feeling relief to know he was asking out of curiousity.
"No not at all. If i were to fall in love again. I would be more then willing to get married again. As for kids. That's a touchy subject. I don't really want to get into right now." Brooke admitted.
"Alright move on from that. I'm an open book. You're more closed off. I guess they were right when they said opposites attract. Dinner tonight. Should be very interesting." Lucas stated.
"What details am i getting.? What should i wear.? Indoors or outside.?" Brooke asked.
Lucas smiled up at her. "Anything you want. You probably look incredible in everything. Outdoors. I'll text you a location. Are you a fan of heights.?" He asked.
"I am. The higher the better." Brooke replied.
"See you tonight." Lucas announced. Getting up from where he was seated. As he left the area. And walked towards where his car was parked.
When Brooke heard her text alert go off. She stared down at her phone. Lucas had texted her the name of the resturant. And a message that made her blush.
She re read it in her head before replying.
I imagine you without clothes is an image. That is unforgettable. I look forward to testing that thought process. I'm being way too forward. That's the affect you have on me.
Lucas texted.
Brooke smiled shyly as she typed back a response.
I'm a bad influence. That could be fun. I'm glad to know you aren't all rules and structure. I look forward to meeting the various sides of Lucas Scott.
Brooke replied.
Sometime Later
The Scott Home
"A date!" Naley replied in unison.
As the couple just finished hearing Lucas recollecting his earlier encounter with Brooke.
"That's great Luke. We're happy for you." Haley said.
"Maybe this is what you need in order for the spell over that woman to be broken. You barely know her. You haven't done a background check. You are far too focused on a stranger. I think you should move on." Nathan advised.
"My mom and dad are watching the boys. If you aren't going to be supportive then i would prefer if you just stayed out of it." Lucas replied.
...
Awhile Later
Brooke looked over herself in the bedroom mirror.
She smiled at herself knowing she looked good.
a green floral maxi dress. Grey heels. A short black hat, and her clutch purse.
She left the home earlier then expected. Given the text she got half an hour ago from Peyton.
The woman looked forward to having the place to herself. Since Peyton was spending the night at Jake's.
...
Lucas looked at himself once more in the men's room bathroom mirror. He was early. Brooke hadn't gotten there yet.
He was wearing a dark blue tailored sports coat. Pleated black dress pants. And grey dress shoes.
Deciding he was way more nervous then he realized. He left and made his way towards the destination where the date was taking place.
...
Brooke walked up the short staircase and was stunned at the lights, view, and handsome man awaiting her at the candle lit table.
"Brooke Davis. You are incredible. Thank you for joining me tonight." Lucas said.
Brooke smiled shyly. "You look good. Really good. I've been looking forward to our first official date since you brought it up. The view is breathe taking. It's like no one else exist. The sky goes on endlessly." She replied.
"I'm happy to see you don't mind a more quiet location. When i'm getting to know someone. I like for the attention to be on them. Unless that makes uncomfortable. But i doubt you mind being the center of attention." Lucas said.
"You're right i like having all the attention towards me."
"Especially when i get to be seated across from someone like you." Brooke replied.
When a waiter came towards them. Offering two menus each.
Brooke thanked him and scanned the entree choices.
"Pasta with brown lemon. And parmesan." She said. Handing off the menu.
"Rib eye steak and crispy smashed potatoes." Lucas said. Handing off his menu.
The waiter left going back into the kitchen.
Awhile Later. The meals were delivered.
The two ate and stared shyly at each other as they took long sips of wine from their glasses. When the meal finished. Lucas extended his hand to her.
Brooke took it and was surprised that there was another level to be seen.
They there in the open space. Brooke was surrounded by nothing but stars and Lucas's eyes on her.
"I've lived in this town my entire life and feel as if i'm only now really experiencing it and that's because of you." Brooke announced.
"The world is only as small as we allow it to be. Pushing past our comfort zones is the only way to make sure we're still what's the point.?" Lucas replied.
Brooke leaned over. Licking her lips. Staring straight up at him.
Lucas leaned over kissing her.
Brooke kissed him. She pulled him closer.
Gasping as she felt him undo the knot her hair was tied up in.
He kissed her neck softly. Biting down gently.
Her eyes opening wide. As she broke the kiss.
Feeling her senses go on overdrive. Her heart racing. Her face flushed.
He ran his hands through her hair.
The pair gasping for breath.
When their eyes locked again. They both were at a loss for words. But knew the connection they felt was nothing fleeting.
