"V-Headbutt!" V-Mon slammed his head against the metal bars of the prison cells holding the prisoners.
Inside, the trapped Digimon glared at V-mon with their red, possessed eyes. But before they could attack, Killua entered and dashed through all of them, breaking the rings around their necks. He stepped out of the cage and pointed outside. "Get out, now!" He ordered.
Not needing to be told twice, the group of Gotsumon being held captive ran outside from their holding cells. Wanting to get away from the place of entertaining of the Emperor.
Killua stood behind, watching as his friends let the others outside. He turned his head up and glared at a throne made of rocks. He jumped to the place where it was and delivered a kick, completly smashing the chair apart. It was something petty, but the bastard Emperor deserved it.
When he came out, he saw his friends panting for breath, hunched over, and standing over a group of Gotsumon that collapsed the moment they were out of the range of the coliseum. 'Wimps,' He snorted. "So everyone got out?"
"Yeah," Cody said, recovering breath. "They did, most of them scrambled to the forest... This guys were completly out of breath though," He said, pointing to the Gotsumon.
T.K frowned, once he regained enough oxygen to stop panting. "But there's something I don't like about this..." He said, while Patamon was perched on his head.
"You noticed?" Killua asked, arching an eyebrow and received a nod. "This was too easy. Why would the Emperor leave a place he clearly enjoys using completly unguarded? I mean, even when he's not close the rings still work. He could've left a bunch of Champions around."
Davis rolled his eyes and crossed his arms over his chest. "You two worry too much. The Emperor just decided to pack his things and flee after so many beat downs!" He turned to Kari with a goofy smile. "Right Kari?"
The girl, who was helping a Gotsumon to his feet, look at him for a moment before shaking her head. "No, I think Killua and T.K are right. It doesn't make sense."
If a rock had fallen on Davis he would have slumped less than with Kari's words. Words that disregarded his bravado and attempts to sound important.
"It's just strange..." She mumbled. "What could he be planning now?" She murmured, she hasn't forgotten the events from yesterday. How the Emperor ordered for her and T.K to be attacked before they found their eggs.
"He might have moved out from File Island..." Killua mused. "If he thinks of truly taking over this world then his next move is the Server Continent. Maybe that's where he'll strike next," He concluded.
"There's a continent?!" The two boys of the new group asked in surprise. Up until now they only knew of File Island, so this was new.
"Yep," Patamon nodded. "And it's certainly bigger than the island."
Gatomon's ears dropped. "That's where... Wizardmon is..." She murmured.
"Wizardmon?" Kari and Killua asked, both curious of the wizard's whereabouts.
Gatomon nodded. "Months before the Emperor appeared, him and Babamon said they would travel the whole continent... Something about a training or so," She was worried about her friend, since they weren't able to hold communication through the distance.
Killua hummed. "Well that's a question I've been having in my mind answered. A whole 'nother reason to go to Server next if the Emperor's strikes," He said. Then he clasped his hands. "For now I think we should get going; it's getting late and Yolei is waiting, not to mention Tai and Izzy."
The two veteran Digidestined were there for different reasons; Tai in case the group found Agumon and were able to bring him back, like they did with Tentomon and Poromon, and Izzy because he wanted to discuss something with Yolei.
Kari turned to the Gotsumon. "What do we do about them?" She asked, not wanting to leave them alone in case the Emperor came back.
Davis grinned. "I have a plan!" He said, wanting to take his chance to impress the girl.
Killua sweatdropped. 'And with those words, I already have a bad feeling.' He muttered.
The group made their way to the closest Digiport. Gatomon lagged behind and turned for a moment to glare at an object in the horizon; one of the Control Towers. The giant obelisk that blocked the ability to Digivolve from certain Digimon, including her friends. It was almost like the Emperor marked those zones with them, to show that they belonged to him. That sickened her. And if the Emperor started planting them in server, then her longest friend could be in danger. 'Another reason take him down,' She grumbled in her thoughts.
She turned around with a hiss and continued on her way. Wanting to go back to the Human World and relax on Kari's lap... Even if she had to stay hidden for her mother's sake.
The Emperor leaned back as he watched the screen that showed a map of the Digital World with different sectors marked black and others marked white. He noticed that one of those whites turned black and his grin stretched. "Excellent, another zone that belongs to me."
Blademon entered at that moment, accompanied by Wormmon. "My lord," He bowed, Wormmon having to do the same with reluctantly. "We heard of the news, I assume you want to pay the locals a visiti?"
The Emperor turned around and nodded. "Of course," He got up and adjusted his gauntlets. "Get me a... An Airdramon. Yes, an Airdramon should do."
"I-I could take you if you want," Wormmon offered shyly.
The Emperor gave him a glance and snorted. "Nah, you are my 'partner'," the last word dripped with sarcasm, "not my carriage. I have another task for you though."
Wormmon looked up. "W-what is it?" He asked, almost afraid of hearing the answer.
"In the west there has been some... Resistance," He said, turning and pointing at one of the parts of the map that was white. "Wipe them down."
Wormmon trembled as he heard the order. "W-wipe them."
Blademon eyed the small Digimon with a disappointed glance. If you were not up for this challenge then leave, damnit. Show some backbone... Then again this was a literal worm he was talking about. He would be allow the brat to step on him if it makes him happy.
"Well, not all of them entirely," The Emperor said with a chuckle. "Just the ones causing troubles... You can do that, right.. partner?" He asked, voice laced with a tone that denied any negatives from the insect.
Wormmon lowered his head and nodded. "Yes, Emperor."
The boy smiled and turned to Blademon. "And you'll go to the north, to do the same."
Fighting out the urges to take the boy's head and putting it on a spike while dancing the can-can, Blademon nodded. "Yes, my lord."
With a satisfied smirk that his two most loyal subjects obeyed his orders, the Emperor walked past them and to the new place on his reing.
When the Control Tower, or Dark Spire as some called them appeared, the tow of Gazimon knew it was only to cause trouble.
It was soon confirmed when an army of Veggiemon reigned them in and gathered in the main plaza, a human boy with a cape and goggles staring down at them with a pleased smirk. "Your town is now under my command," He told them. "As long as you don't disobey, I'll allow you to preserve your free will."
One Gazimon snarled and jumped out of the crowd, ready to rip the Emperor's head off. The boy, however, didn't even flinched, and a shadow jumped from behind him pinning down the Gazimon to the ground.
"Oh, and I forgot to mention," The Emperor said with a hint of laughter in his voice because of the scene before him. "This is your boss while I'm gone, say hi... To General Garurumon," He said, gesturing to the snarling wolf with red-eyes that was snarling at the attacking Gazimon. "While I'm not around he's in command here, and in the case he's gone the command falls to RedVeggiemon," He gestured to a Veggiemon of a red color, obvious name was obvious but he didn't put it. "And if someone steps out of line... Well..." He snapped his fingers.
Garurumon opened his mouth and to everyone's horror, started devouring the Gazimon. The Digimon screaming in pain until his body bursted to data.
The Emperor smiled coldly. "That happens."
"WHAT IS THIS?!"
That was the welcoming the liberation group received from the ones who stayed behind in the computer lab. The reason behind such a welcoming? The six Gotsumon that were brought back with them to the real world.
"Why did you brought the Gotsumon with you?!" Izzy asked, his hands on his head.
"We couldn't leave them behind," Kari said, standing next to her brother. "Not with the Emperor still around; he could capture them again." For reassurance, she turned to Tai to see if he approved. "That's okay... Right, brother?"
"Yeah, I don't see the problem with that," Tai said with a smile, looking down at the Gotsumon.
Yolei sighed. "But what will we do if professor Fujiyama appeare and see them?" She asked.
"We got it cover," Cody said with a smile and turned to the rock Digimon. "Just like we practice. Pose!"
At the command, the six Digimon all made weird poses, some resembling famous statues around the world. Cody sounded very proud of this achievement. "See? Now they look like ordinary statues."
Killua face-palmed and groaned. "I have to add that I was against this plan!" He grumbled into his palm.
Yolei had a dumbfounded look at the plan, but the damage was done. And she couldn't exactly kick the Gotsumon back in to the Digital World, that would be cruel. Izzy walked to her, snapping her attention to him. "Yolei, could you please lend me your Digivice, and that PDA with the egg?"
Yolei stood and nodded. "Sure," she took out the red device from her pocket and handed it to him. "Why though?"
"The door opens only with the Digivice you guys have," Izzy explained. "There's no doubt about it, right?" He said, the question directed to the others in the room.
Tai nodded, taking out his own Digivice. "Right. Only theirs can open the door. We can still go in, but I don't think it's just because we have Digivices since Killua can go in too."
"So they basically open the door and anyone close to them can get in," Killua said. "That leaves the question of why those Digivices are the only ones to do it."
Izzy gripped the Digivice of Yolei, eyeing him with determination. "That's what I'm going to find out." He said. "And I'm also going to find out what other functions does theses PDA have. Beside storing the Digi-eggs."
The crack of the whip caused some Veggiemon to jump back in fear. Now that the citizens were locked in cages and his General and Warden were in position, the Emperor had no need to stay here. "To the next zone now!"
The Veggiemon scurried around and grabbed a mobile throne for their ruler to sit on. The boy sat and the possessed Digimon all lifted the throne, struggling as they did so, and walked out of the town onwards to the next place for their conquest.
From within one of the holding cell, one of the Gazimon growled in hate as he watched the Emperor leave. "He's gone! Now's our chance!" He told the other prisoners.
"Are you crazy?!" One of them said. "Didn't you saw what happened to that guy?! He was devoured in front of us! We don't have a chance!"
The Gazimon gripped his fist. "But without the Emperor around, that mut won't know what to do on its own!" He said. "Let's get out of here and find the Digidestined! I heard that they were back!"
A less hopeful Gazimon scoffed. "Yeah, right. Those are urban legends."
The jailbreak Gazimon groaned in annoyance. "Fine! You stay here! I'll go to freedom!" He declared, brandishing his claws.
He slashed the door down and ran out of the cage. feeling the responsibility of saving the town from the clutches of the Emperor. He just needed to make it to the river below and go to File Island, where the Digidestined were sighted.
This was not meant to be, however, as a spiked whip impacted against his back, sending him to the ground. "Ugh."
"So, we have a fugitive," RedVeggiemon sneered, looming over the Gazimon with her possessed red eyes. "Do you know what the punishment for that is?"
The Gazimon struggled to get up and glared at the Digimon. "What are y-"
"A hundred slashes!" She interrupted him by slamming her vine-like arms in his stomach.
The torture of the poor rabbit Digimon was nothing but brutal. The red vegetal slammed her spiked handd on his back over and over again, while the other Gazimons from the cell holding him watched in horror.
"Sixty! Sixty one! Sixty two! Sixty three!" The last attack sent the poor Digimon falling off a cliff surrounding the village. The RedVeggiemon growled. "Damnit only sixty three slashes! Well it doesn't matter, he won't survive that fall!"
Garurumon watched the punishment the Warden gave to the fugitive Digimon with a neutral look. His clouded mind approving on the use of the force by the second in command on this village. He let out a howl that echoed around the village, chilling the bones of all the inhabitants, that show should demonstrate what happens if any of them steps out of line.
The river where he fell ended up in a shore near a TV. The Gazimon crowled out of the water, his vision getting blurred for the attacks.
"Digi...Destined... Save us from that Emperor and from... General... Garurumon..." He gasped out before passing out.
Matt was in cloud nine. He always felt that way after every presentation he had after class. Not only they received good money from the person that asks for their group to perform, but it felt exhilarating to just let himself go with his instruments.
As he packed his things after the show, he heard someone entering to the room. A smile presented on his face when he saw his brother entering. "Hey, T.K. What're you doing here?" He asked, walking to him.
T.K smiled. "Well, I decided to pass by before going home. And to keep you informed with everything happening in the Digital World," He said.
Matt's face fell a bit. "Has there been... Any news about Gabumon?" He asked, a bit of hope on his voice.
"No, sorry," T.K apologized.
The two of them walked out of the room, so Matt's bandmates won't listen to them talking about the little... Secret they had.
At T.K's apology, Matt shook his head. "It's not your fautl, it's all that Emperor guy..." He said, sounding scornful at thinking of the human causing damage to the other world for fun. "How are the new kids doing?" He asked, curious to know how they were faring.
"Well, they have the plus to be able to come home anytime they want," T.K joked. "But overall they do great... Although something bugs me..."
"What is it?"
"The whole egg thing," He said. "I mean... Where did they came from? Why did they changed my Digivice and Kari's? And why were three Digimon sealed below them?" He couldn't help being curious about the whole. It was all too strange, and almost convenient.
"Well, not everything was clear for us the first time either," Matt told him. "Maybe Gennai can give us some answers... If he appears that is."
T.K chuckled. "Killua would want to rip his head off like the first times," That brought a laugh from the older brother. Remembering how Killua lost his temper around the Digital Human.
As the laughter subsided T.K remembered something. "Hey, Matt. Do you know where we could hide some Digimon?"
Matt raised an eyebrow. "How so?" He asked.
"You see, we brought a few Gotsumon from the Digital World after freeing them from a coliseum the Emperor has," He explained. "And we need a place to hide them... You won't happen to know a place, would you?" He asked, sheepishly.
Matt snickered at his predicament. "Nope, sorry."
"Excuse me!" A voice called from behind them.
They turned and saw a girl around Matt's age, or a bit older, with wild red-hair running to them, she had a marker in hand. Matt inwardly sighed, she knew her; his self-proclaimed number one fan, Jun. And judging by the marker she wanted another autograph.
"Matt, could you sign my back?" She asked, not even trying to hide her emotion.
Matt did hide it and nodded. "Sure," He said. "Jun Motomiya... With one T right?" He asked for confirmation.
Jun nodded. "Yup! You got it right!"
T.K blinked. "Motomiya...?" He mumbled. "Excuse me, are you related to someone named Davis... Or Daisuke?" He asked.
"Um? Yeah, he's my brother," The girl admitted. "And you are...?" She asked.
"He's my brother, Takeru," Matt said.
"Nice to meet you," T.K said with a friendly smile. "I'm Davis' classmate."
"Oh, you look like a nice kid!" She smiled. "Can you sign my shirt too?" She asked, handing the marker.
T.K shrugged and grabbed it. Jun turned and he started writing his name. "Daisuke can be such a jerk at times. I wish I had a nice little brother like you..." She sent a wink on Matt's direction. "Or a cute one."
Matt averted his gaze and grumbled under his breath.
"There you are!"
The three turned and they saw Killua arriving to the hallway were they were standing. "Killua what is it?" Matt asked.
"Good, Matt you're here," He said as he catch up to them. "We received an..." He looked subtlety at Jun. "Situation in the computer room, and we really need your help there, Matt."
The brothers caught on the tone the boy was giving and exchanged a look before nodding. "Okay then, take us there."
They left the room in a hurry, leaving a confused Jun behind.
The rest of the Digidestined were gathered and pacing anxiously at the arrival of their last member and the white haired Anomaly.
"I'm back!" Killua said, Matt and T.K behind him.
Davis turned and huffed. "Finally, where were you guys?!"
Completly ignoring Davis' angry questioning, Matt walked to the computer. "Is it true? Does the message you guys received said something about Garurumon?!" He asked, his eyes glued to the red screen on the Digiport.
Yolei nodded. "Yeah, it was shortly after T.K left to ask you for help about the Gotsumon," She said. "A voice came from the portal and said something about the Emperor and a General Garurumon."
"General..." Killua's eyes narrowed. "It's almost as if the Emperor is mocking us by giving our friends a high rank among his slaves," He said, his tone full with cold fury.
On the way to the lab, Killua informed them that a short while after T.K left to look for Matt, and while they were discussing what to do with the Gotsumon, the voice of someone apparently injured came from the Digiport. But since it was closed they couldn't tell who it was, so for the moment they decided to send Killua to look for T.K and Matt, since the boy was the faster amongst them.
"Regardless of the reason," Matt said. "If Garurumon is involved, I have to go!" He declared.
Killua nodded. "Of course." He turned to Davis and nodded his head to the computer. "Open it, let's get going."
Davis looked miffed at being ordered around, but conceded. "Fine!" He grumbled and brought his Digivice out, pointing it to the computer. "Digiport Open!"
The declaration wasn't necessary, but the door was open and everyone started getting sucked in, minus Yolei who decided to stay behind.
"Argh... What happened?"
"This is already a common thing."
"Not necessarily a good one."
The typical dogpile was untangled and they looked at their surrounding. They made sure to go to the place where the voice came from.
Kari gasped once the mass of limbs was untangled, noticing someone on the shore. "Guys, look!" She said, running to the figure laying on the floor.
Everyone's attention snapped on the girl and they circled around the figure, gasping as they realized it was a heavily wounded Gazimon. Kari frowned. "Poor thing... What could have happened?"
Cody frowned. "This has the Emperor's name written all over it," He said in a low tone.
Killua noticed somethings about the downed Digimon. "He is wet... And has injuries around his body, but the ones on his back seem older than the rest," He looked at the mountains that were on the other side of the river. "So he probably received a beatdown and fell down the river. Luckily the river drag him close to a T.V."
"Speaking of which," They turned to see Yolei speaking through the TV that served as a port. "Apparently you can send messages even when the door is closed, or even hear things on the other side. That's how that guy must have sent the message." She deduced.
"That's good to know," T.K said. "In case we need to know where the Empero is going to attack next."
The Gazimon stirred and opened his eyes. "W-whaa..." He noticed the group around him. "H-humans... T-the Digidestined!" He gasped and tried to get up.
V-mon pushed him down gently. "Easy there, buddy," He adviced.
"What happened?" Gatomon asked, worried for the poor Digimon, but wanting to know what the Emperor has done this time.
And lo and behold, the first thing he said confirmed their suspicions. "The Emperor... That boy came and invaded our city with his General and the damn warden."
Killua needed to ask, just to make sure he was talking about the same Digimon he was thinking about. "That General... is a Garurumon right?"
Gazimon nodded. "Yeah... That wolf. With a ring attached to his neck, he became a killing machine!"
"WHAT?!" Matt asked in outrage. "What do you mean by that?! What happened to him?" He grabbed the Gazimon by the shoulders, worry for his friend blinding him to the gray Digimon's pain.
The Gazimon winced as the bearer of Friendship shook him. Killua and T.K grabbed him and pulled the boy away from Matt. "Matt! Calm down, he's injured!" His younger brother said.
Matt snapped out of his desperate state and calmed down on their grips. "Sorry..."
"There's nothing to be sorry about," Killua said, eyeing the blonde with sympathy. "You're worried about Gabumon. So am I, T.K and Kari," He reassured. His gaze shifted to the Gazimon. "Where's your town? We'll take care of this."
The Gazimon got to his feet, being helped by V-mon and Gatomon to no falter. "I-in the mountains, follow me."
"I'll go get Izzy so he can give me my Digivice back, I think you'll need a bit of backup," Yolei said, who has been listening to everything in silence from the screen. She got up and ran out of the computer room.
Poromon floated in front of the screen. "I'll be keeping an eye in the meantime. Good luck everyone!"
The Gazimon guided them to the mountain where his home town was on. Crossing across the river to get there.
When they arrived, he frowned as he gazed the black tower sitting at the top of the mountain, overlooking everything below. Almost as if represented the Emperor's control over the zone. "That's my home... Santa Geria."
Gatomon noticed the obelisk at the top of the town and frowned. "That tower... It's just like the ones near the coliseum, where we freed the Gotsumon."
Killua's eyes narrowed as well. "I'm starting to see pattern," He mumbled. 'Either those towers have some sort of effect... Or they are just a way of the Emperor to prove to anyone watching that that zone was under his control... Whatever the case it has to go down.' His mind was starting to form a plan to do so. If the tower had any function, then taking it down would help in some way and if it didn't then at the least it would hurt the Emperor's pride and free the town from a symbol of oppression.
"That's a Control Tower," The Gazimon said. "The Emperor put it there."
"Whatevs," Davis said shrugging. "Let's go now! To free Matt's pal and the trapped guys."
"Hold on, Davis!" Matt said in a scolding tone. "We can't just barge in recklessly. Our priority has to be freeing the prisoners, then we look for a way of freeing Garurumon and the other slaves."
Davis waved his concerns. "That's okay, man," He took out his Digivice and eyed it with a smile. "With our Armor Evolution we can do it in a flash."
"No, we can't," T.K said, causing the goggle boy to look at him. "If we just enter with our armed Digimon, then the slaves could take the prisoners as hostages."
"T.K is right," Kari nodded. "We have to find a way to put the prisoners out of harm's way first before dealing with the Emperor's soldiers."
Davis twitched as he heard his ideas being rejected again.
"Our main concerns are Garurumon and the Warden RedVeggiemon," Killua mused, eyeing the Gazimon who gave him a nod. "We've dealt with Veggiemons before, they attack with their vines... And sometimes with their foils..." He cringed at the thought.
Everyone turned to him with expectant looks. "Do you have a plan, Killua?" Kari asked.
"Maybe," The Hunter said, cupping have chin on his hand. "I think we should split, mainly to test a theory of mine..." He said.
Cody tilted his head in confusion. "What theory?"
Killua pointed to the Control Tower at the top of the mountain. "That thing, they appear in every place the Emperor attacks," He explained. "With the name control towers and from what he knows about his Digivice I think they are amplifiers of some kind. They are used to both nullify the normal Digivolution and to power the Dark Rings. At least that's what I think."
"You think that by taking down the tower, we can free the slaves and the prisoners without having to fight?" Matt asked, hope in his voice.
"Yeah," He nodded. "But since it's not a guarantee I say we split. T.K, Matt, Kari and I will enter the town as decoys, prisoners. While Davis and Cody go to the back of the mountain to destroy the tower. This way, if I'm wrong, then at the least some of us will already be in the town and looking for a way to free both parts alike." He explained.
The plan seemed solid and everyone undestood the concept behind it. The back of the mountain didn't had any population, so it would be most likely unguarded to an attack, leaving the tower wide open. And if it didn't worked, then they would do a more frontal assault.
Everyone seemed to agree... Except for one.
"Wait, wait, wait!" Davis said, waving his hands in a frantic manner. "Why are we going to do that? Cody and I?" He asked. "Why should we go and destroy that tower instead of going in the town."
Killua gave him blank stare. "Are you an idiot?" He asked plainly, making a vein pop in Davis' forhead. "Didn't you heard everything I said? You go to destroy the tower in case my theory is right. That way the slaves and prisoners are freed without having to fight!"
"Then why don't you go?" Davis asked.
"In case it doesn't work and the tower is just a way of the Emperor to pinpoint what areas are under his control, then I'll take responsibility and free the town in another way," He explained, getting annoyed with the kid questioning his plan when he explained everything in high detail.
"Well then who put you in charge to even tell us what to do?" Davis demanded to know, hands on his hips and glaring at the Hunter.
At this, the one to answer was Kari. "Well, Killua is the leader," she said.
Davis flinched and looked at his crush in betrayal. "What?! S-since when?!" It didn't make sense, the white haired prick hasn't done anything to gain that!
"Well, Killua was the leader during our first time here," T.K said, remembering the time in Myotismon's cave, before going to the human world to find Kari. "And he freed Kabuterimon and Birdramon the other day without any help."
Davis tried to regain composure by taking out his Digivice. "B-but he doesn't have a Digivice!" He said, pointing to his blue device.
"He didn't have it the first time around either," Matt explained. "And yet we all choose him as a leader."
"And the fact that I don't have a partner didn't stopped me from fighting Blademon yesterday, didn't it?" Killua remarked, with a deadpan glare.
Davis' mind was trying to come up with an answer, while he stood there gaping like a fish. This wasn't right on his mind; he is the one to get his partner first of all the new Digidestined, the one who evolved first with his partner, he thought he could be the leader of the group.
Killua watched him and sighed. "Look, if this is about you wanting to come then T.K and Cody will deal with the tower and you can come to the town. But let's not waste any more time." He turned to T.K and Cody. "Are you willing to go?"
"Sure. I trust what you're saying," T.K nodded, putting his faith on the white haired Hunter.
"Your reasoning is solid... And you were right about the new Digivices being the ones able to open the Digiports," Cody nodded, trusting the person the veterans thought as a leader.
Killua clapped his hands. "Then it's settled, you will round the mountain and get to the tower with Pteramon and Pegasusmon's help," Killua heard of Patamon's new form after they went back to the Human World after his fight with Blademon. "But I recommend you round the mountain on foot, to not call attention."
They both nodded and ran on their way, their partners following them to carry on the mission of toppling the tower.
"Now, it's our turn, let's get going," Killua said, passing by a still processing Davis.
His mind rebooted and he turned to the group going to the town with a frown. "Wait just a moment! If those Veggie guys attack with soil, I think Kari should go for the tower instead!"
Kari resisted the urge to sigh. "Davis is fine," She said. "I don't care, and if everything goes right then we won't even cross those guys."
"And a little soil has been the least of our problems before," Killua remarked. Between Myotismon, Dark Masters, and now the Emperor, some filth won't be so bad.
"Why you prick!" Davis said, clenching his fists. "Don't you have chevelry for a lady?!"
Everyone blinked at what he said. "Chevelry?" Matt echoed.
"I think he meant..." Kari continued, her lip twitching upwards and quivering.
"Chivalry," Killua finished, trying to reing in the shaking on his shoulder.
They couldn't help it and started laughing at the boy's mistake, causing him to blush in embarrassment and anger and to let out a huff.
This was all that white haired prick's fault!
"Stop!" The Veggiemon said, stopping the Digimon arriving to the village. "Who are you?!"
Gatomon stepped forward, raising her arm with a fake Dark Ring attached to her hand. Made with the help of some materials the Gazimon accompanying them found. "We captured a fugitive and these humans! We'll take them back to the prison!"
The humans all had their noses scrunched in disgust at the smell the village had. Apparently the Veggiemon were... Fertilizing the area. And it didn't leave a nice smell in the air.
"Oh, the fugitive that caused the punishment of many others, huh?" One of the Veggiemon sneered. "Because of his little stunt, General Garurumon punished his cellmates with a public execution!" They all laughed as they said it.
Matt and Gazimon froze in horror. The Gazimon for hearing his friends were death because he wanted to make a jailbreak, and Matt because his partner killed innocent Digimon. He knew the only responsible was the Emperor, but that didn't took away the fact that it happened.
Davis and Kari were also horrified. One of the Digidestined's partners did something so awful under the influence of the collars. It was scary to think what those things were capable of.
Killua scowled. Hearing that just added another reason to the long list of reasons to kill the Emperor, or at the least to beat him up badly. He hoped his theory was right and so they wouldn't have the need to fight against the slaves and against Garurumon.
"Get them in!" The Veggiemon said, ignoring the looks of disgust from the two Digimon, for both the smell and those words.
They walked around the town, continuing with the farse to get to the place where the villagers were being held. Everyone turned to the Gazimon, who had his head down about the news he heard about his friends' destiny. He noticed the stares and sighed. "Near the top... That's where we were held." He said.
No one said anything else and went to the top, deciding to give him space after those news.
A very mean Veggiemon pushed the humans and Gazimon into the cells with a mean shove. All of the houses at the top part of the village were turned into prisons to hold the villagers and they all looked miserable.
The mean Veggiemon smiled. "The Empero will be most pleased when he heards of this! Thank you!" The jailer said to Gatomon and V-mon.
"No," Gatomon said, making the Veggiemon turn and see them taking out the fake rings with a surprised expression. "Thank you," She said with a smirk. "Neko Punch!" She punched the guard straight in the face, it was a one hit knock out.
Everyone inside of the cages smiled. "Good work guys," Killua said, walking forward and grabbing the bars, easily bending them so everyone could get out. "Let's go for the rest."
Taking out the rest of the Veggiemon guards wasn't hard. They had the number advantage in the prison area, and a bit of a large number. Something that couldn't be said for through the rest of the village.
They down the mountain to reach the entrance, but many Veggiemon were already mobilizing through the city. Davis noticed this and grinned. "Go time! V-Mon!" He turned to his partner and raised his Digivice. "Digim-"
"No," Killua said, grabbing his arm and pulling the Digivice down. "We can't fight now, we have to take the villagers out of this place."
"He is right," Matt said. "If we fight, the villagers might get trapped in the cross fire."
"If T.K and Cody are all ready on the other side of the mountain, then we can evacuate with Pegasusmon and Pteramon," Kari said, backing the two boys. "If not, we can do it with Nefertimon's help," She looked at Gatomon who gave her a thumbs up.
Killua let go of Davis and pointed the Gazimon to the other direction. They got the message and went to the top of the mountain, were the Control Tower was located.
Davis stood there, clenching his fist in anger as his course of action was ignored again. Why was it so bad to fight those Digimon?! They could free them and be done with it! Why do they have to ignore him and follow the white prick instead?!
"This sucks!" He cursed, kicking the dirt. But without any other option, both he and V-Mon followed the group.
The road to the top of the mountain was a bit tiring since it was all the way uphill, obviously. With Killua and Kari leading, the Gatomon and the villagers in the middle, and Matt and Davis in the back.
Killua looked over his shoulder to see if they were being followed, but he didn't saw or detected anyone aside from the group. What he saw was a still sulking Davis after he was told not to fight. The Hunter exhaled. 'He has a temper, that's for sure. He needs to learn when is right to fight and when is right to take another route.' Killua took that to heart. Just because he didn't had a needle to tell him what to do anymore didn't meant that he was going to charge to a fight head-on. 'But I wonder how or when would be the best time to talk that to him... He doesn't look like the type to listen when he's angry. He'll snap at me if I go and try to talk.'
He wasn't the only one to notice the boy's mood. Matt, being the closest to the goggle wearing boy in the pack, glanced at his sulking frame. He wanted to give the kid a chance, knowing that he was not only a Digidestined but a possible friend to his little brother. He decided to strike a conversation. "Hey, Davis?"
"Yeah?" He asked, hands stuffed in the pockets of his jacket. Not wanting to meet anyone's gaze, much less Killua's.
"I met with your sister today," Matt told him. "He appears to be a fan of my band."
To Matt's displeasure, and surprise, Davis scoffed. "So what? She probably badmouthed me when she talked to you, right?"
"Eh?" Matt was taken back that this was his first assumption. "No, she barely mentioned you," He said. 'Although he said you were kind of a-'
"Oh, don't lie!" Davis snapped. "I'm sure she just kept saying bad things about me behind my back!" He ranted. "I don't like her and the feeling is mutual so the two of us are even in that aspect!"
'-jerk' Matt scowled as he heard what he said. "Well for your information she barely mentioned you at all!" Yes, Jun might be an overbearing fan, but a fan nonetheless and he didn't liked when people that made assumptions about others without a proof. "So stop acting like a whiny brat!"
"Excuse you?!" Davis asked, glaring at him. "What do you know?!"
"I know that if I was your brother, I wouldn't like hearing you making assumptions about me!" Matt said, looking ready to beat some sense in the two. "Contrary to what you may believe, the world doesn't spin around you!"
"You want to go you no-good musician?!" Davis asked, glaring daggers at the blond. Seems like getting on his nerves was a family thing.
Before anyone could do anything, a white blur stood between the two. Killua extended his hands and keep the two apart. "Enough." His voice leave no room for discussion.
"But Killua-" Matt tried.
Killua looked at him. "What Davis' said is wrong, yes. But it shouldn't be our business and getting at each other's throats is not going to help."
That calmed the blond and took some steps back. The white haired boy was right, he shouldn't be getting rilled up by something like this.
"And how exactly what I said is wrong?!" Davis demanded. Getting tired of the so-called leader of this group always getting in the way.
At that moment he froze.
Killua gave him the hardest glare he ever received. Feeling like he was being gazed down by a depredator of some kind. No controlled Digimon he ever faced have gave him this kind of feeling.
"It's wrong, because like Matt said, you don't have any prove that your sister badmouthed you in this occasion," He said, not taking away the glare. "What? You think that in every moment your sister has the chance she talks bad of you? In every single conversation?" He asked.
Davis flinched and adverted his gaze.
Killua sighed and looked away. "It's not my place to tell what happens amongst you. So I'm not going to tell you to get along with her, heck I don't even know her. But don't go saying those kind of things without proof."
Davis regained some courage to try and defend the case. He might not have catch her doing it, but he just knows that she does it. With the way the two interact at home it won't come as a surprise. "But she-!"
"Davis cut it out!" That voice make him froze again. Kari make their way to them, her usual pacific face turned into a frown. "They already made their points! What you're saying about your sister is wrong! I hate people talking like that about their family!" She told him. "So, please calm down!" She said, wanting her friend's temper to cool down, before turning tail and continuing on the way. The other two males following.
Killua winced when he heard what Kari said about what she thought of people like that. 'She better not hear what I have to say about my family...'
Let's see: A control-freak of a mother, a megalomaniac brother, a pig, and a momma's boy. He didn't even knew what to think of his father figures, since they didn't cared about Alluka or Nanika and threat them both like objects or monsters. To some degree he understood Davis, but one thing was making false accusations and other differently is having to deal with constant manipulation from your family.
Alluka and Nanika were both blessings, even if he was going to ground the two of them when he managed to find a way back home.
Meanwhile, Davis didn't moved from his spot. He didn't even heard the last part of what Kari said. He just listened to one thing and his body shut down like a computer.
'I hate people talking like that about their family!''
She hated people like that. People like him. She hated him. His body felt cold and he thought his heart stopped beating for a moment and all the color drained from his face. He saw an image of Kari ripping a flower, symbolizing his love for her, while repeating those words over and over again.
V-Mon blinked at seeing his paralyzed partner. "Davith?"
"She hates me, V-Mon," He moaned. "I was completely and utterly destroyed.
V-Mon frowned. 'I never thought Davith could get so sad... He's usually very lively...' He thought.
The rest of the group continued ahead, a few more turns until they could reach top, until they heard a loud bowling coming from the top. Their heads looked up and a white and blue leaped down to them, specifically to Killua. "What the heck?!" Matt asked.
Out of instinct, Killua raised his hands and blocked the incoming figure. He had grabbed the top and lower part of a nuzzle, allowing him to see the sharp fangs and saliva in the mouth. He recognized who he was holding back. "G-Garurumon!"
The wolf growled and continued to try and bite the boy's face off. Matt recognized his partner as well. "Garurumon what are you doing?! It's me!" He tried to get close to him.
"Stay back!" Killua said, still holding the wolf back. "He has one of the Dark Rings!" Killua said, looking at the red eyes on the wolf. "He can't heard you!"
Before Matt could protest, in Garurumon's mouth a blue fire was starting to form. "Killua watch out!"
Killua acted fast, and with a heavy heart, he threw Garurumon over his shoulder and to the village below. "Damnit!" He cursed at what he had to do. "Guys, you continue to take the Gazimon out, since we are already close! I have to go check down to see if he's okay!"
"Oh so now you want to fight?!" Davis regained enough spirit to ask.
"There's a difference, asshole!" Killua snapped. "Many of them, actually! For one, that was our friend! For second, the prisoners are about to be freed! And for a third this is our chance to free him!" He turned to Matt. "I know you probably want to go and set him free, but for now carry on with the plan!"
Matt nodded. "Okay, I trust you, Killua."
The Hunter smiled and jumped off the mountain to look for his friend, his Nen flaring.
"IS HE CRAZY?!" Davis asked, as he saw the white haired boy jumped to a certain demise.
"No, he survived worse..." Matt said, matter of factly. "C'mon, let's get going."
Kari stood there for a moment, watching at the bottom of the mountain afraid that Killua might be hurt. But Matt was right, he survived worse and he could free Garurumon like he freed Piyomon and Tentomon. "Okay."
They resumed their trek, although Davis stood there flabbergasted for a moment before deciding to follow. "This day can't get any crazier."
Garurumon impacted against the ground, but he didn't stayed down for long, even if he felt a bit hurt after such a fall. He got up and started snarling as he saw another figure falling after him.
Before he touched the ground, Killua used a burst of Nen to soften his fall. He glared at the wolf, his eyes hardening and getting ready to fight a friend. "Hang in there, Garurumon. I'll take that thing off you."
Garurumon growled and to Killua's surprise, he spoke. "Killua... Zoldyck... By the Emperor's order you are to be captured and taken to him."
Killua arched an eyebrow; The Emperor wanted him? Why for? Wouldn't it be better to just... You know? Kill him in the spot, even if Killua knows that there's no Champion Level that can do that deed. Except for the mysterious Blademon.
'He must be planning something if he wants me. He did say that I was his 'rival' whatever those that mean. He must be having something under his sleeve that hasn't showed yet... But what? And why not use it yet?' He mused. He decided to shove those thoughts for later. "Whatever the case, it won't happen." He let out his Ren and charged.
"Attack!" A different voice called, and Killua saw how... Foil was launched from behind the wolf. He yelped and stopped his charge to dodge the filth coming his way.
"Where did that came from?!" He exlcaimed, but took it back when he was promptly surrounded by the possessed Veggiemon. "... Shit."
"Get him!" The Veggiemon charged, with the intention to dogpile him.
Killua took a deep breath and focused his Nen on his feet to propell himself away from the Veggiemon, causing them to miss. He stood in the air for a moment and charged electricity on the tip of his fingers to launch it at them. "Narukami!"
Before the lighting bolt could struck the Veggiemon, it was block by a blast of blue fire. Killua clicked his teeth as he saw that Garurumon blocked his attack. The wolf opened his jaw and launched a second Howling Buster at the white haired boy.
Killua crossed his arms and used Ken to focus Aura around them to block the attack and stopped any burnt damage.
After the blast proved ineffective, Killua landed on the floor. All of the Veggiemon surrounding him while Garurumon stood on the back.
"... I really need to find a way to charge myself..." Killua said. "Otherwise I would have to put up with this tedious fights for a while... But I have something about as good..." He smiled as he dug something from his pocket.
The Veggiemon were not going to give him the chance to try anything, so they jumped at him to take him out. But they all received a hard strike on their faces, a round object crashing and spinning around their target.
The rest of the possessed Digimon watched as Killua tugged his weapon back to him with a metallic cord. A Yo-yo made of metal was on his hand and he bore a cocky smirk, he started spinning the toy to his side and launched it at Garudamon.
The wolf jumped back, the toy impacting against the floor and creating a crater on it. Killua reared it back and launched it at the General. As he was mid-air, Garurumon couldn't dodge and the yo-yo hit his nuzzle's, sending him crashing to the ground.
The Veggiemon recovered and they all jumped to catch the boy, but Killua was faster and he started spinning in place, the yo-yo spinning with him and hitting the incoming Digimon.
Garurumon got up and shook his head, trying to stop the dots he was seeing after that attack. He turned to see the fallen Veggiemon and Killua doing tricks with his Yo-yo. "Time to take that thing out of your neck, pal," He said and threw the yo-yo at him.
Garurumon leaped back, avoiding the toy, Killua tugged it back and ran to him while spinning the toy at his side. Garurumon opened his mouth and launched a blast at the boy, Killua stopped and threw his weapon of choice at the blast. With the special alloy made by Milluki, the yo-yo cut through the blast without a problem and impacted against Garurumon's nose. The wolf yelped back and Killua brought his second yo-yo out and launched it at the wolf while rearing the other back. The second yo-yo wrapped around one of the front paws. "Sorry, pal..." He focused his electric aura through the cord of the yo-yo and to the wolf Digimon.
Garurumon howled in pain as the discharge coursed through his body. The ring around his neck started getting overloaded and sparking with a short-circuit until it exploded. The electricity stopped and Garurumon collapsed, his body shrinking to Gabumon. Killua reared the yo-yo back and ran to the fur wearing Digimon. "Gabumon!"
He kneeled beside him and cradled him. "I'm sorry for getting so rough, buddy..." He apologized to the unconscious Digimon.
A stink make his way to his nose and he turned to see the Veggiemon surrounding them. He sighed. "You guys never give up, do you?" He asked, while hoisting Gabumon on his back. He could continue fighting, but now that Gabumon was free and unconscious, he didn't want to put him in danger. He walked in place in a certain pattern and many copies of of Killua, all of them with Gabumon on his back and running in different directions of the town.
The Veggiemon didn't have any idea of who to follow and looked at each of the images of Killua running around.
They all vanished as they ran in different directions, leaving no signs of the boy or the Digimon behind, and only leaving a confused group of vegetables on the town.
For his part, thankst to the distraction provided by his Echo Rhythm, Killua sneaked pass the possessed Digimon and started taking the way to the top of the mountain where the spiral was located.
All of the Gazimon, plus Matt, Kari and Gatomon, leaned in the cliff to look down at the forest, wondering how exactly how where they were going down. Davis stood behind, still sulking for the discussion from early and Kari's words.
Kari frowned as she looked down. "Where are T.K and Cody? They should be aroud here by now!' She said, frowning.
"Well, we can't sit ducks and wait," Matt said. "I suggest we get a rope or something to climb down."
Gatomon nodded. "Yeah, that's a good idea. If I evolve in Nefertimon then it would take me various trips to get them down, this way will be faste," She said. "I'll go look for one, but it might be risky."
"Wait!" The Gazimon accompanying them said, the same one who called them. "Let me be the one to look for one... I want to at least do something right..." He mumbled.
Gatomon undestood what he was saying and nodded. "Okay, maybe it'll be the best if we all go," She told them.
The Gazimon nodded and along with Gatomon, they turned to go looking for something in the village that might help them. But they were stopped when frlm the ground beneath them many Veggiemon bursted out, making honor to their namesake, all lead by the RedVeggiemon. "Were do you think you're going?!" The red Digimon asked. He opened his mouth and launched a barrage of small missiles with the form of carrots to them.
They were all forced back from the attack. V-Mon, seeing this, scowled and clenched his fist. "Davith! Imma take on that jerk-face!" He said. "He's only a recolor of the Veggiemon! I can take him as a Rookie to cheer you up!" He declared.
"To cheer...?" He started asking before V-Mon charged at the Digimon. "Hey wait!"
RedVeggiemon wasn't faced by the Digimon and simply raised his spiky arm and strike him in the face, causing V-Mon to fell to the ground with a thud. "V-Mon!" Davis called in worry and raised his Digivice. "Digimental u-" He was interrupted when three Veggiemon tackled him and wrapped their arms around him. "Ugh- Let go!"
"Davis!" Kari and Matt called out, only for them to also be trapped by the vegetable Digimon.
Gatomon and the Gazimon were surrounded by a large group. The cat cursed. "Garurumon attacked from the top! How could we drop our guard knowing that the enemy could be at the top?!" She asked to herself in frustration.
"Stinky breath!" The Veggiemon all let out a green mist from their mouths that completly covered the group of Gazimon and Gatomon. They were forced to cover their noses at the stench and were dogpiled when they dropped their guard.
"Damnit..." Davis cursed, wiggling in the Digimon's grasp. "Let go!"
V-Mon got up after being knocked down and looked at his partner. "Davith!" He went to help him only for a spiked whip-arm to wrap around his leg. It lifted him over the ground and slammed him down with strength. "Gah!"
Veggiemon chuckled. "For attacking me, you'll receive the hundred slam punishment! One!" He lifted the dinosaur again and slammed him down.
"V-Mon!" Davis yelled, seeing his partner being slammed over and over in the ground. But RedVeggiemon didn't listened to what he was saying and slammed the dino ten times in a row. "Leave him alone! If you want to slam someone then do it with me!" He said, struggling against his bonds.
V-Mon groaned, his body aching all over, and looked to the boy. "R-relax, Davis... I can take it... I'll take more and beat this guy to make you feel better!" He declared before being slammed down again.
Davis gasped. 'That's why he charged head on? To make me feel better?' Because all day he's been unhappy with the group's decision and with the banter they had today, V-Mon wanted to cheer him on by beating that guy?! So... It was all because of him? "You idiot! I don't need you to do that!" He looked at RedVeggiemon. "Leave him alone!"
RedVeggiemon sneered and started to spin V-Mon over his head. "All of you watch as your dear friend goes sailing over the air and down the cliff!" He said, ready to throw V-Mon off.
"Stop it!" Kari exclaimed, also struggling against the Veggiemon.
"You coward!" Matt called out, also trying to get free. "Fight fairly against us!"
RedVeggiemon didn't listened and reared his arm back to throw the Digimon off the cliff. But luckily for the Digidestined, the cavalry arrived.
"Shooting Stars!"
"Missile Storm!"
A barrage of stars and missiles impacted against the side of the Control Tower, before RedVeggiemon could make his devious action. The possessed Digimon gasped as he saw the tower starting to topple down. "Ah! The tower!"
T.K and Cody hovered over the scene on their partners' backs. "Guys!" T.K called as he made to land down.
"We're sorry! Surrounding the mountain was harder than we thought," Cody apologized, seeing the state his teammates were in.
As the tower fell, the Dark Rings all snapped open and fell off the Veggiemon, including the red one. They blinked and let go of the Digidestined, the events of what happened almost like a nightmare to them. "W-w-what happened...?" The RedVeggiemon asked, letting go of V-Mon.
Davis, once free, ran to his partner's side. "V-Mon! Are you okay?!"
"Yeah... Just a bruised pride..." The blue dinosaur chuckled weakly.
Davis frowned and lowered his head. "You didn't have to do that for me, you know?" He told him. "That didn't cheer me up, just worried me..."
"I'm sorry, Davith," V-Mon mumbled. "I won't worry you next time I want to cheer you up!"
Davis sighed, taking that as a win. "Okay..." He looked at the fallen tower and how the Veggiemon was bowing to the Gazimon, while T.K and Cody gathered behind them. 'So it was the tower after all... We didn't even had to fight to win... Everyone was right after all. And everything worked out because Killua figured everything out,' He felt another pang of jealousy on his stomach, but shoved it down. He didn't have the right to feel that way when he was on the wrong and the white haired boy was right.
A hand appeared in his field of vision and he saw that it was Matt offering it to him. "Hey, are you okay?" He asked.
"Y-yeah," He said, taking Matt's hand while also helping V-Mon to his feet with the other. "Thanks... And sorry about before..." Davis had a feeling he was going to be saying this for a while.
"Apology accepted," Matt said with a smile, before guiding him to where the Veggiemon and the red leader where apologizing.
The RedVeggiemon took the lead, bowing his head low to the Gazimon. "We can never repay you for the lives we took! But please, give us a second chance!" They begged.
The Gazimon that called the group sighed. "You said it... Our friends won't come back to us now... But you can help us by helping us protect it from future attacks."
The Veggiemon all eagerly nodded, wanting to atone for what they've done.
Off to the side, the Digidestined gathered and stared at the fallen structure. "So Killua was right, this things are the ones controlling the rings and possibly blocking the normal evolution," Kari mused.
"This cuts the work for us," T.K said. "Now all we have to do is destroy the towers instead of the rings one by one."
"HEY!"
Speaking of the king of Rome. Killua arrived at the scene, slightly panting from the extra weight on his back, reason of why it took so much time for him to arrive. "Seems you guys did it!" Killua smirked, seeing the toppled tower.
Matt saw him coming and his eyes widened at who he was carrying. "Gabumon!" He called and ran to them.
Killua stopped and dropped the fur wearing Digimon to the ground with care. Matt was at his partner's side in a flash. "Gabumon, are you okay?!"
Gabumon stirred and opened his eyes. "M-Matt? Is that you?" His eyes watered as he recognized his partner. "You're back!"
"Yeah... I am," Matt said, holding back emotions on his own.
Gabumon immediately frowned. "I... I did some awful things," He said, remembering what he did to the town under the Emperor's control.
"It wasn't your fault," Killua said. "It's all the Emperor's fault," He told him with a scowl, thinking on the human responsible of so many damage.
Gabumon sighed, knowing that the boy was right. But he still felt responsible for what he did, but instead of sulking about it, he decided that instead of sulking down he was going to help as much as he could. "Thanks Killua..." He said.
The boy turned and walked to the new kids. "No need for that. I don't thank my friends, so you don't have to do the same," He smiled. "It's a given we'll have each other's backs."
At hearing that both Matt and Gabumon smiled back. Then a shadow flew over them and they look up, as well as everyone else in the mountain.
"GUYS, I MADE IT!" Yolei waved at them from a top of FlyBeemon.
Everyone sweatdropped. 'Kinda late for that...'
Everyone went back to the computer room after Yolei's arrival, accompanied by Tai, Izzy, Tentomon and the Gotsumon as backups. The group explained the situation to them and told them about the Control Tower's function.
Gabumon stayed behind with Matt to look for more towers near Santa Geria for them to destroy and that way prevent the Emperor's control from reaching the town again.
To make up for her lack of action that day, Yolei accompanied Tai to the place where the Emperor's coliseum was placed to destroy the Control Tower located nearby, accompanied by Tai, while the others went back to the Human World.
Now, everyone was seeing a map of the Digital World divided in squares, some black and some of them white. Izzy pointed to one of the black squares with his pencil. " I obtained this map after studying Yolei's Digivice a bit," He said, referring to the map. "See this? This is the place where Santa Geria is located. It was black before, but now it's white. You know what that means?"
"That means the white squares are the places without a tower," Killua said, coming to the same conclusion as the red-headed genius. "So all of the black ones..."
Kari frowned in disgust. "All of those places are controlled by the Emperor..."
"We have quite the task ahead of us..." Davis sighed, Demiveemon on his arms.
"At least now we know of what to do," Cody said, trying to see the silver lining of the situation. "We won't even have to fight, just destroy the towers."
At that moment, another square turned white. T.K smiled. "That's the place where the Emperor had his coliseum, Tai and Yolei must have destroyed the tower."
"Then the Gotsumon can go back to their homes near that place," Killua smirked. "If today isn't a victory I don't know what is. So I say we go back home and rest, we're going back tomorrow."
No one had an objection with that and they nodded. Only Izzy stayed behind, waiting for Tai and Yolei to go back.
Everyone stood at the gates of school, T.K and Cody having left together since they lived in the same apartment complex. Leaving Kari, Killua and Davis at the gate. Since there was no one else at school, Killua could afford himself to be in plain sight.
Davis decided this was a good chance to talk with the Hunter. "Hey, Killua?" He said, calling the boy's attention. "I just wanted to apologize for acting like an idiot back there..."
Killua shrugged. "Hey, if you can see what you did wrong then it's all good," He smiled at him. "Put that energy you showed today in destroying the towers and the Emperor won't know what hit him."
Davis smiled at hearing that. "Now we're talking!"
Kari smiled at seeing the two getting along. "Then I guess we should get going," She said looking at Killua. "Before my mom suspects anything."
Killua nodded. "Yeah, you're right."
Davis blinked at hearing that conversation. "Eh? What are you talking about?"
"Have you forgotten, Davis?" Kari asked, tilting her head. "Since Killua doesn't have anywhere to stay, he's staying at our place."
Davis mind grinded to a halt. Oh right... Killua. Was living. With Kari...
"Yeah, until I find a way back home... After we deal with the Emperor that is," The Hunter said, scratching his head. "Then, let's get going."
"Okay," She waved back at the still frozen boy, oblivious to his state. "See ya later Davis!"
The two left leaving a frozen Davis behind. After they were out of sight, Demiveemon looked at him. "Davith?"
The boy hung his head. "Even when I'm winning I end up losing..."
"Hmmm..."
The Empero plus his two-member crew, watched the screen with unamused looks. Two of the black squares turned to white after a moment, and they lose contact with Garurumon.
"They know about the towers now," The Emperor said, with an even tone.
"Will this be a problem?" Blademon asked.
"Nah," The Emperor waved off. "For every tower they destroy, I'll build two... No, ten more!" He exclaimed crossing his arms over his chest. "By the end of this year, this world will be under my complete rule! Hehehehe AHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
As the Emperor lost himself in his fantasy, Blademon crossed his arms and scowled at his back. 'You better do so, brat. Or else the master's plans will be in danger...' He glanced at the screen with a scowl.
He would have to work harder for the brat to take control of more zones so more Towers could be planted. Then his master's ambitions will come true.
And if in the way he can take his revenge on Killua, then all the better.
Uggg, this chapter was so tedious to make. Now I'm remembering why I nerfed Killua in the previous story. He could completly finish off all of the villains or their bases in a moment."
I had to think hard of a way for the chapter to take his natural course, with Davis' learning to not try to impose his wishes over others and that fighting isn't the only solution, without Killua entering and finishing everything in 0,05 seconds."
So please leave a fav and a review."
And I need you to evaluate my characterization of Killua. I don't want to accidentally make him a Gary Stu."
Love you, bye!"
