THE WISE WOLF CHAPTER 4:

*Quileute Language (Just in this section)

Adi's POV:

I wake up around eight in the morning to the pack yelling in the kitchen. I remember what happened last night. I fell asleep in Jacob's arms! I screamed about a spider! I have to look so pathetic. I walk into the kitchen and grab my normal half slice of toast.

"Hey we are going to go get Jake from his house. I'm pretty sure he overslept, and we need to talk to him. Do you want to come with?" Sam asked me.

"Sure, I guess." I was excited to see Jake again. I don't know why. I'm still embarrassed after last night, but I like being around Jake. It probably has something to do with him imprinting on me, not that he knows that I know, but I don't really mind. Its nice to have a friend that is not technically my family.

We walk over to Jake's house. As we are walking up to the house, a pale girl with long brown hair, she must be Bella, stomps up to us.

"What did you do!" She yells and pushes my brother.

"Hey what did you do to him!" She pushes him again. I officially hate this girl.

Paul growled at her. "Hey easy!" Sam commanded Paul.

"He didn't want this!" She tried to shove him again.

Paul stepped closer to her. "What did we do. What did he do. What did he tell you. Can't just leave him alone Swan. He's Happy!" He growled at her.

"Both of you calm down!" Sam commanded pushing Paul back.

"He tells me nothing because he's scared of you!" She yelled. I officially hate this girl.

"Maybe he just doesn't want to hang out with you anymore! Ever think of that!" I yelled at her. She doesn't get to come in here and push and yell at people. I would gut this girl if I could. Technically my dagger would hurt her, but I'm not supposed to hurt humans, so I will let her live.

"No! He is my best friend! He would not just ignore me! This is your fault!" She yelled getting really close to my face. Then she slapped me across the face. That's it! I'm going to kill her. Before I got the chance, Paul started shaking.

"Too late now" Jared said and grabbed me pulling me away from Paul.

"Bella get back! Paul calm down!" Sam ordered, trying to keep everything under control, but he was too late. Paul exploded out of his skin into a Dark grey wolf. If I hadn't already known about their secret, I probably would have passed out. I knew they were wolves, but I did not realize they were that big. He was taller than me and definitely bigger. He had sharp teeth. He is bigger than me in wolf form, as in wolf form I am smaller than him, but larger than a regular wolf.

Bella had slowly backed up. I could hear Paul's thoughts: 'How dare she hit her. Can't the stupid leech lover understand no one wants her here. Everything's getting better, and she just had to come here. I'm going to tear her into pieces.' He growled at Bella. I was probably standing too close to him, but I was not worried.

"Adira! Move!" Jake yelled as he came running out.

"Jake! Run!" Bella yelled, but he ignored her and jumped right over her phasing into a beautiful russet wolf, bigger than Paul.

'You could have killed her! You phased too close to Adi and revealed the secret! I'm going to kill you!'

Jacob thoughts screamed as he growled.

"STOP!" I yelled at them and Jacob and Paul stopped growling and looked over at me.

"Jared, Embry, take Bella back to Emily's. Don't let her drive!" Jared and Embry helped Bella over to the car.

I walked over to where Jake was, "Shhhh, Calm down. Its ok. I'm fine. See. You need to phase back." I murmured to him softly.

'Still want to kill you Paul. Just got to wait for her to move.' Jacob thought to Paul. I am so glad I could understand them, but I had to be vague, so they did not know that.

"Hey, Calm down Jake. I know you want to hurt Paul, but its not his fault." I told Jake. Jake growled at my comment. "Don't you growl at me. Now go phase back my wolf." I told him. I spoke a little Quileute at the end because I knew it would help him calm down more. He was the son of an elder, meaning he grew up around our tribe's language. Jake looked at me and walked over to the woods. Sam had gotten Paul to phase back too at this point, although I think he more ordered it then worked to calm Paul down.

Jake came walking out of the woods. He pulled me into a hug. I was flush against his warm bare chest. "Hey, are you ok?" He whispered to me.

"Don't worry, I'm fine. A little shocked, but fine." I responded.

"Adi, that was dangerous! You could have gotten hurt!" Sam scolded me.

"Don't worry Sammy I'm fine. I did not get hurt. I know Jake would not hurt me. None of you guys would, and its better than them fighting." I responded.

"You better not do that again!" He told me, he sounded mad, but I could tell he was just worried about me.

"Sure Sammy. I'll be careful." I responded.

"Ok. So, you must want an explanation?" He asked. An explanation for what? Oh yeah. The whole wolf thing that they think I just found out about.

"Well I kinda already figured out the legends are true and stuff, so I just have a few details for you to clear up." I responded.

"How?" Paul asked. He had come back out while Sam was scolding me about going near a phased wolf.

"I speak Quileute. Fluently." I responded to him. There mouths hung open a bit.

"So you understood us when we were talking in Quieleute?" Jake asked me.

"Yeah, I just figured if you wanted me to know you would have told me, so I pretended I did not. You guys get some semblance of privacy." I responded.

"Ok well we will answer your questions later. Right now we should head over to Emily's and see how Bella is doing. Paul you have to apologize to Bella." Sam said.

*Quileute Language (Just in this section)

Jacob's POV:

I wake up to shouting outside of my house..

"Maybe he just doesn't want to hang out with you anymore! Ever think of that!" I hear my imprint yell. I rush out of bed. I hear Bella shouting again.

"No! He is my best friend! He would not just ignore me! This is your fault!"

"Too late now" I heard Jared say as I could hear Paul growling. No! He better not phase! He's too close to Adi and I haven't told her yet!

"Bella get back! Paul calm down!" Sam ordered. I ran outside

"Adira! Move!" I yelled. She was standing way to close to Paul's dark grey wolf. Jared had pulled her back, but I wanted to kill Paul for phasing near her in the first place.

"Jake! Run!" Bella yelled, but I ignored her and jumped right over her phasing and growling at Paul.

'Still want to kill you Paul. Just got to wait for her to move.' I yelled at Paul through the mind link. Sam was trying to get him to phase back, but he was still angry. I could see what I missed. Bella slapped Adi. There was no way I was going to be able to phase back, but I couldn't move because Adi was too close.

"Hey, Calm down Jake. I know you want to hurt Paul, but its not his fault." She told me. I growled at her comment. It was definitely his fault. He phased.

"Don't you growl at me. Now go phase back my wolf." She told me. She called me her wolf. In Quileute too. I started focusing on her calling me her wolf and how close she was to me. I focused on her scent, letting the smell of pine, cinnamon, vanilla, and pomegranate cloud my senses. I felt myself calming down, and I walked over to the woods to shift back.

After phasing back, I came walking out of the woods. I pulled her into a hug. I love having her this close to me. "Hey, are you ok?" I whispered to her.

"Don't worry, I'm fine. A little shocked, but fine." she responded.

"I speak Quileute fluently" She responded to him. I was shocked. She had not been here in 8 years, but still remembered. Barely anyone on the reservation was fluent except some of the elders children and the pack was required to learn it id they did not already know it. Most people on the rez only know a few words and phrases, but here she fluent after 8 years of being gone. She truly is perfect.

"So you understood us when we were talking in Quileute?" I asked her just to double check that was how she figured out, mostly because I was still shocked.

"Yeah, I just figured if you wanted me to know you would have told me, so I pretended I did not. You guys get some semblance of privacy." She told me. That was sweet. I kind of wish she would of told us she understood since I've been worried about how she would take it when she found out. I expected her to be more scared or shocked or both, but she is perfectly calm. The perfect imprint for the true alpha. I smiled at her.

"Ok well we will answer your questions later. Right now we should head over to Emily's and see how Bella is doing. Paul you have to apologize to Bella." Sam said.

We headed over to Emily's. Adi walked in first taking a seat at the table. Emily offered her a muffin but she politely declined like always. Sam went over and kissed Emily to which Jared and Embry made comments about.

Paul looked towards Bella, "Sorry" he told her. She nodded.

"Wait" Adi said sternly. "If Paul has to apologize than so do you Bella." She said looking at Bella who looked confused so Adi continued, "You approaches us aggressively, wrongly blamed us, yelled in our faces, pushed my brother, and slapped me." Bella looked like she did not care which was really rude of her. Just thinking of her slapping Adi made me mad again. Deep Breath. Don't Phase. Don't Phase.

Bella had not responded yet, so Adi kept talking, "I do not expect an apology, honestly I could care less whether you apologize for slapping me or not, but I expect you to apologize to my brother and Paul at least."

The pack looked at Adi stunned that she put Bella in her place since most of the pack was not a big fan of Bella.

Bella looked towards Sam and Paul and mumbled "Sorry Paul and Sam." She mumbled. She did not even apologize to Adi. I know Adi said she did not care to, but its still rude.

I walked over to Adi and gave her a hug before pulling Bella outside to talk. I did not want to, but someone had to, and I was the only one in the pack she knew, even if I was the most mad at her right now.

We walked down to the beach. "So, your a werewolf?" She asked me.

"Yeah, last time I checked." I responded. "Few lucky members of the tribe have the gene, bloodsucker moves into town and the fever sets in." I elaborated.

"Mono" She said.

"Yeah, I used to wish, not anymore. I'm starting to actually like it."

"Well can't you find a way to just stop." She said.

What does she mean stop. Who does she think she is. She hangs out with the leeches, but then goes and judges me. I can not wait until I'm done talking to her, so I can go back to Adi.

"I mean its wrong." She comments.

Who does she think she is. "Its not a lifestyle choice Bella." I said rudely. "I was born this way, I can't help it. What am I not the right kind of monster for you? I honestly don't care what you think anymore." I held back a growl. Getting angry would not make this go faster.

"Its not what you are, its what you do. They never hurt anybody. You've killed people Jake."

Really, she thinks we are killing people. I can't remember why I liked her. "We are not killing anyone." I responded back meanly.

"Then who is?" She is looking at me like I'm stupid because no body else but us could be killing people in her mind.

"What we are protecting people from. Vampires. The stupid bloodsuckers are the only things that kill people." I told her.

"Jake you can't" She said.

"Don't worry we don't touch the Cullens unless they break the treaty. Anything else or can we go back now?"

"That's not what I mean. You can't kill vampires, they'll kill you." She said.

"Yeah right. That leech with the dreads was dead easily." I responded with a smirk.

"Laurent?"

"And his redheaded girl friend is next." I said determined.

"V-Vi-Victoria's here?" She stuttered out.

"Was, chased her away. She keeps coming back. Don't know what she's after" I said.'

"I do." Bella said scared and took a long pause. "Me."

What could she do to have a leech want her dead.

"Come on, we have to tell the pack. You can explain what you did to make a leech want you dead to everyone." I told her rudely as I walked towards Emily's, her following me.

When we were back at Emily's I walked in and spoke up, "Figured out what the redhead wants, she's after Bella." I told them with how annoyed I was seeping through into my voice. I walked over and sat next to Adi, leaving Bella standing in front of the pack.

"Why is she after Bella?" Jared asked me.

"I don't know, aske Bella." I said turning to Bella. "So?" I asked her.

"To be simple last year he killed Victoria's mate, James. She wants revenge, so she wants to kill me because she thinks that will get back at him." She said. We all figured 'him' was her leech.

"Ok. As much as I don't really like you Bella, you are still human, and can't protect yourself." Adi said, pausing for a moment before continuing, now talking to the whole pack, "Bella needs to be protected at all times. Its not the most exciting being hunted by someone trying to kill you, and she can't protect herself."

"How do you know what its like?" Jared asked her.

"Let's just say its not fun having something hunting you with aims of killing you and leave it there for now." Adi said with a harsh tone that we all knew meant she didn't want to talk further about it. I could tell she was upset, so I picked her up from her chair and placed her on my lap. I rubbed circles down her arms to try and calm her down. I could see Bella give Adi a jealous look and I rolled my eyes

The guys continued talking, but I did not pay attention much, focusing on my imprint instead. I caught the end where they decided Bella would try and stay on the rez when she could, and a wolf would patrol her house at night. Fun.
