Welcome back everyone!
"Did you bring me any banana cream pie?"
Do you think of anything besides sweets?
"..."
I thought so. Anyway, here is the next chapter.
"So exciting!"
...~~~oOo~~~...
Chapter 4
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
"Are you done yet?"
"...No...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Was Danny's reply as he continued to laugh until his sides split. After a while, he started to calm down enough to speak.
"So let me get this straight: I'm your son, who was magic-ed up and away because of those anti-bozos and you couldn't find me for ten years. Timmy here then 'wishes' to meet me after hearing that story, and that is how we met?! Forgive me for my disbelief. Are you sure that I am your son? Because last I checked, I don't have magic, wands, wings, or..."
"Floaty crown-y things?" Cosmo supplied.
"Yes, that, thank you. There is also the height difference. I may not be the tallest in my grade, but..."
"This may be coming as quite a shock to you."
"Understatement of the century."
Danny pinched the bridge of his nose as he tried to process this information. First the big revelation from his parents that he was adopted. Now it's finding out that his birth parents are quite possibly fairies. Actual fairies with the sparkles, rainbows, butterfly wings, and magic. Like any teenaged boy would want to hear of such a thing. He can already see his friends reactions: Sam cringing away in horror from the idea of her friend's cheery origins as Tucker died of laughter calling out "Danny the fairy boy! BwaHAHAHAHA! What's next, you have a pet unicorn?"
"...Danny?"
"I-I need a moment to think... Alone."
With a quick transformation, Danny flew up and away. Timmy and his two fairies watched as the ghost boy shrunk in the distance, looks of concern plastered on their faces. Well, on Wanda's and Timmy's faces; Cosmo was oblivious to what happened.
"This wasn't how I thought this would go," Timmy said slowly. "Should we follow and make sure he's okay?"
"Yes, let's follow him! And afterwards we can go have some fun!" Cosmo said with some excitement, already daydreaming of all the things he and his son Danny would now be able to do together.
"Now hang on-" Wanda began, but was too late as Cosmo poofed the trio after the halfa.
...
Danny flew above Fairy World, semi-aware of his surroundings as he was lost in thought. A jumble of emotions were staging a Sam-style riot in his mind. He didn't know what to think.
'All I wanted was a nice, normal birthday; is that too much ask?' He thought as he flew by cafes, stores, and houses of varying colors and oddity.
Soon he came across what looked like a large park with gazebos, ponds with swans drifting across the glassy surface, playground equipment, and open spaces that were ideal for picnics, kite-flying, stargazing-
A sudden wave of nostalgia hit Danny, causing him to stop. He floated towards a particular open space, drawn to a certain spot. There on top of a hill, off to the side, a twisty tree with deep-cyan leaves stood. He came up to the tree, a gloved hand rubbing the green-gray bark. More waves of nostalgia swept over, causing him to rub his eyes and blink. When he opened them, he no longer saw the park in the noonday sun. Instead, he found himself at night with a small family stargazing, many years ago...
"OMG... Flashback, flashback, FLASHBACK!"
"How many stars are up there?" A little boy inquired, sprawled out on a outdoor blanket, head resting in his mother's lap. The boy's mother was lightly stroking her son's ebony locks.
"I don't know Sweetheart. Someone would need to go up there and count them all," said the mother with a smile, her magenta eyes watching her son with fondness.
"Then I guess I have to go up there and count them all. Maybe I'll meet a space alien!" Said the little boy, his crystal blue eyes lighting up with excitement.
The mother chuckled at her son's love of space, brushing stray strands of her pink hair out of her face. "I should think so. But not too soon; I want to enjoy tonight with both my husband and my five-year-old baby boy."
"I'm not a baby," huffed the child with indignation, "I'm a big boy!"
This caused a burst of laughter to erupt from the mother and the father, who was sitting next to them. The laughter earned a pout from the little boy, fueling the merriment of the parents.
"You are most certainly a big boy, just like your daddy," said the father, grinning at his son, "and all big boys loooveee ice cream!" With a flick of the wrist, the father pulled out a glowing wand, briefly eliminating his face and green hair. With a silent 'poof' appeared several rather large bowls of ice cream in front of the family.
"YAAAAASSSSSS!" Cried the little boy as he swiftly and greedily ate from one of the bowls of ice cream.
"Cosmo, you can't just keep giving him sweets," the mother scolded her husband. Said husband was scarfing down his ice cream as well.
"What? Every kid needs sweets. It's an absolute rule Wanda," came a reply as the green haired father continued to devour his ice cream. Both father and son continued to devour the ice cream at a speedy rate, when both suddenly clutched their heads with anguished cries of "BRAIN FREEZE!"
With an eye-roll to the boys' antics, Wanda flew up and started poofing the area clear of their possessions. As she was cleaning up, and Cosmo still moaning about the ice cream headache, the little boy got up and trotted up to the tree that they were set up nearby. With a quick look around, he stuck his hand into an opening in the base of the tree, hidden fairly well. He had discovered the spot some time ago and now used it to keep a cache of things that were special to him. Pulling out a blue box with stars on it, he opened it to stick a paper in it before closing it and tucking the box in its hiding place.
"Danny, time to go," Wanda called out to her child.
"Coming Mommy!" Replied Danny happily as he scampered up to his parents...
End of flashback
"AWWWW!" :(
Danny opened his eyes as he found himself sitting and leaning against the tree. Sometime, while he was caught up in the memory, he had changed back to human. Letting out a sigh, he ran his hand down the base of the tree near one of the roots when his fingers brushed against something not a part of the tree. Getting on his hands and knees, he reached into the newly discovered opening and, much to his surprise, pulled out a TARDIS-blue box with silver stars decorating the outside. With ever-so slightly shaky hands, he opened the box...
~~~Line Break~~~
"Where do you think he could have gone?" Asked Timmy as the boy and his fairies searched through the town. A majority of the fairy populace, after the anti-fairies were returned to the prison, was also searching for the teen, as they wanted to thank the young hero for saving Fairy World.
"I honestly don't know," answered Wanda with a look of worry, "he could be anywhere."
"You don't think he left?" Asked the pink-capped boy. He really wanted to hang out with Danny because of 1. He was his fairy godbrother and 2. he was a SUPERHERO, DUH!
"Maybe he did went home, maybe he went to the prison, maybe-"
"Maybe we can ask that kid over there if he's seen Danny," stated Cosmo, pointing to Danny trotting up to where they were, the blue box tucked under his arm.
"Danny!" They cried as they swiftly made their way up to the halfa, looking happy and, in Wanda's case, relieved.
"Hey Timmy," chirped Danny as he came up to the boy. He turned his gaze up to the fairy couple, "Hi..."
"Hey Danny, what's that you got there?"
"Hmm? Oh, I came across this in a park. Under a tree in a clearing..." he gave the fairies a meaningful look. Cosmo and Wanda, both somewhat confused and curious, hovered close as Timmy and Danny sat down on the curbside. Pulling out the box that was tucked underneath his arm, Danny opened it up and started to pull out the contents. Both fairies eyes widen as they recognized some of the items inside.
"Ohh," cooed Wanda as she pulled out a plush dog and a photo of the family visiting the North Pole. In the photo, Wanda was off to the side with an exasperated expression, Cosmo upfront and center with his tongue stuck to the candycane-striped pole, and Danny in the arms of Santa Claus laughing hard and red-faced. "I remember that trip. Mrs. Claus took the photo..."
"Hey, I was looking all over for this!" Cosmo called out, pulling out a black tie. It was identical to the one he's was wearing.
Chuckling at Cosmo's expense, Timmy reached in and pulled out a small telescope and a book about space. Looking over the items for a bit, he then hands them over to Cosmo before reaching in and pulling out a drawing consisting of Wanda (labeled as "Mom"), Cosmo (labeled as "Dad"), and Danny (labeled as "me") on a spaceship flying past the moon.
Wanda was now leaning her head on Danny's, the ghostly boy not seeming to mind, and gazed into the drawing. "You loved everything about space..." Wanda sighed.
"Still do," said Timmy with a cheeky grin, remembering Danny's interest in the emergency pod.
Danny shrugged with a smile at the comment. "Guilty..." Tucking the items back in then setting the box aside, he reaches into his back pocket to pull out what his parents (Fenton) had given him that morning: the star necklace with his name on it. "I guess these all belong to me, along with this."
Wanda, now overwhelmed with emotion, grips Danny in a firm hug and breaks down crying tears of joy. 'Wow, two sobbing mothers in a day. This is a new record' Danny thought as he returned the hug, giving comforting pats. Timmy and Cosmo join in and the little group- family sit there for a good while, simply enjoying the others' presences. Eventually, they separate, smiles on their faces. Cosmo gave Danny a pat on the shoulder...
A crowd of fairies were watching the science unfold, whispering to each other. Before anything else could be said or done, a small explosion erupted in front of the family, causing everyone to jump up. As the smoke dissipated, the bulk of Jorgen could be seen as he marched up. 'Yikes, who's big, dumb and muscly? He looks like he could use Dash as a toothpick.' Thought Danny as he watched the buff fairy approach.
"Who on earth is that!?" Danny asked the others.
"That's Jorgen Von Strangle: He's basically the police of Fairy World," Timmy whispered to Danny, "He's kinda a jerk."
'This guy is a fairy!?' "Wonderful," muttered the halfa.
"I see that you have found the ghost boy," Jorgen said in his thick Austrian accent, "though he looks more human than anything."
"Well that's because I'm not really a ghost," Danny said as he faced the rather imposing fairy. Willing the white rings to pass over his body, he transformed into phantom. "Last year, I was involved in a lab accident. The result: Ghost powers." He then changed back.
"I see. Unfortunately, we will need to wipe your memory of the existence of fairies."
"WHAT?!" Came several exclamations from those gathered about.
"It is what is written in DA RULEZ!"
A ginormous, purple book poofs above Timmy, Danny, and the fairy couple. Thinking fast, Danny scoups them all in an embrace, turning intangible as the book crashes to the earth(- er, cloud. cloud-ground?).
"Yeesh, and I thought Walker was rule-obsessed," Danny grumbled as they moved back and regained tangiblity. Before anything else was said, Jorgen pointed his wand at the teen and quickly blasted him.
"NOOO!""WAIT!""HE'S NOT-""BLINDED!" Came several screams as a flash of light temporary blinded everyone. Before anyone could to anything, they all heard Danny say "Was that supposed to do something?"
Danny stood there as if nothing has happened.
"HOW DID YOU RESIST THAT?!" Jorgen was flummoxed.
"Danny here is a magic-less fairy," Timmy said, not only earning a questioning look from Danny, but also surprised looks from all the surrounding fairies, "He's immune to magic."
"He is?" Called out a fairy.
"It's true! We know because he's our son," Wanda declared.
"That's your son Danny? The little one that went missing ten years ago?" asked another fairy, who, like the gathered crowd, looked to be in shock.
"He most certainly is!"
Excited voices filled the air as fairies started to question the group. Jorgen shakes himself from his stupor of thought as he looks at the halfa with a discerning gaze, while Danny squirms a bit under the scrutiny.
"Now that I am getting a better look, I can see that you are telling the truth on BOTH accounts: that he is a magic-less fairy-"this earns some smiles from the group, "-and the family resemblance. He has his father's idiotic face and hair".
"Hey!" Both Cosmo and Danny called out.
"At least I'm not as flat as your haircut," taunted the ghost boy.
The audience fell silent, save for a few whimpers of fear.
"WHAAAAT!?"
"You need to take a chill-pill. Maybe get some therapy while you're at it."
"Why you-" growled Jorgen as he aimed the glowing staff/bazooka like wand at Danny, only for it to fizz out. Before he could try anything else, a watch on his arm starts to beep. Jorgen grumbles some more, eventually turning to leave.
"You're lucky magic can't effect you. I have prisoners to beat up, so I leave you be... for now. I got my eye on you..."
With another explosion, the Austrian fairy was gone. With this, Timmy starts laughing at the recent exchange.
"What's that guy's problem?" Asked Danny with a grin threatening to appear on his face.
"Honestly? No idea." Timmy stated in a matter of fact tone.
Soon fairies swarmed the group, bombarding them with questions and comments.
"Oh my GOODNESS Wanda, congratulations on finding Danny!"
"What kind of powers do you have?"
"Cosmo, where on earth was he?"
"Hiya Danny, remember me?"
"Timmy, aren't you excited that Cosmo and Wanda found Danny?"
"Where did you end up?"
"I remember you; you are still so cute!"
"He got his powers in a lab accident? How did that happen?"
"Uhhh- um- I- er-," Danny, unused to so much attention, felt his head start to spin as he tried to keep up with all the fairies.
"FWUEEEEEEEEE!" Came a loud whistle, silencing the multitude of fairies. Timmy, who had wished up a soccer coach's whistle, now had everyone's attention.
"I have questions too. How about Danny here first starts with his life story, including how he got his powers; then we tell about how we found him and go on from there." Timmy supplied, "And I want to hear about your adventures and what powers you have."
"Sounds good," Danny replied. Everyone gathered around as Danny began to share about himself.
"First of all, I am what the other ghosts call a 'halfa': half human, or fairy I suppose?, and half ghost. A human- fairy?- with ghost powers. My parents (the human ones) are scientists that study, well, ghosts. I had an accident with their equipment and it basically alter my DNA. It all started..."
...
Danny reached the end of his tale, telling of his 'hero origins' and a bit of his adventures. Everyone was entranced by the story, excitedly chatting to each other and occasionally asking Danny a question. Timmy was still laughing hard at some of the details.
"An 'On/Off' switch inside the portal. That is ridiculous!" Timmy giggled
"That's Dad for ya; at least this time he didn't pour diet cola into the ecto-filtrator like their college proto-type."
"And some of your enemies... the Box Ghost? The Lunch Lady!? And that guy in the pjs?"
"Klemper? Yeah, he's a weird one. Totally clingy, freezing everything, and annoying. Not as much as the Box Ghost. That guy doesn't know when to quit! Popping up 50 times a week going 'BEWARE, I'm the Box Ghost! Tremble in terror from by cardboard cubes of DOOM!'" Danny let out a groan in exasperation, "You have know idea how many all-nighters arose just because of him."
"You are definitely the coolest person I have ever met, and I've met people like celebrities and heroes before," Timmy said with a look of awe-struck.
Danny smiled at the younger boy, "Thanks. It's nice to hear someone say that. I have so many people hating me- well, phantom- because he's- I'm a ghost."
"Well obviously you are well liked here," Cosmo said, with the crowd of fairies nodding in agreement, "Now that the anti-fairies are no longer a problem, let's go have some fun!"
"Yeah! You can show off your powers, we can give you a tour around Fairy World... We can go do all sorts of fun things," squealed the small boy, hopping up and down with excitement.
"Okay, okay! That does sound like fun. You look like you're about to burst!" Danny laughed.
"I can't help it! I always wanted a brother, and now I practically have one and he's a SUPERHERO! Who else can say that?!"
Danny gave a smile at the comment. Truth be told, he had always wanted a brother of his own. He loved Jazz, but there was a difference between what you can do with brothers versus sisters. Danny stood up from where he was sitting and faced the pink capped boy.
"Well I guess, for both of us, that one wish came true," he said as he tasseled Timmy's hair, "If you want to see some of my powers, let's go to somewhere that has open space."
"How about the park?" Wanda suggested.
"Perfect!"
Danny stooped down to collect the box that held the items from his childhood. With the box under one arm and Timmy scooped up in the other, Danny, with a cry of "Goin' Ghost!" ("You have a battle cry? Cool!") changed and flew off to the park with the fairies close behind.
~~~To Line Break, or not to Line break~~~
Timmy, Danny, Cosmo, Wanda, and a slew of fairies were at the park Danny had stumbled across his box of momentos as Danny, in his ghost form, demonstrated his powers. The fairies watch the show in awe at the range of abilities the teen had. Even Jorgen, who had joined the group, looked impressed. Cosmo and Wanda looked on in pride as Timmy whooped in excitement.
Danny was feeling genuinely happy: his abilities were being admired and the fairies were treating him well. At first, he was a bit bashful at the large audience, that steadily grew as more came, that had come to watch him; but realizing that the fairies were genuinely accepting of him, Danny grew more bold and creative with his demonstration. The fairies 'oooh'ed his maneuvers in the air, 'awww'ed at the ice sculptures that he whipped up (he'd been practicing with Frostbite), and bursted out laughing as Danny overshadowed Jorgen.
"Halló, I'm Jorgen Von Strangle. Even though I have a tiny brain, like to beat up puny fairies, and kiss my muscles, I am quite scared of the dark and I need my teddy bear 'Mr. Kerfuffle McCuddles' to keep me safe."
Fortunately for Danny, overshadowing leaves the person temporarily dizzy and unable to recall much of what happened while they were overshadowed. After he went through almost all of his powers (Not the Ghostly Wail for obvious reasons), he joined Timmy and his two fairy godparents as the crowd applauded him for his show.
"So, where do we go first?" Asked Danny as the crowd slowly dispersed.
...
After a picnic in the park ("Dang, fairy magic is so useful!"), The two boys and two fairies made their way through Fairy World, waving greetings to fairies that passed them by. They had visited several places and met several fairies. The tooth fairy was very friendly and was surprised to find out about Danny, as she hadn't met him before he disappeared. She hadn't even realized that Danny was Cosmo and Wanda's kid when she had gone to collect his baby teeth throughout his childhood.
"I actually remember you. Do you still live in the orange building with the 'FentonWorks' sign?"
"Yep. Nothing really changed there," replied Danny.
"You were so cute as a child with the most beautiful smile! And you are still very cute," Tooth fairy cooed, lightly pinching Danny's cheek causing him to blush. Timmy snickered at his expense.
...
"So, what gave you the idea to name me 'Danny'?"
"Well that's quite simple-"
"You were named after the greatest barber in all of Fairy World!" Cosmo interjected happily, poofing up a picture of 'Danny Devito', "That's where I got my first hair cut..."
"Cosmo you dunce, we didn't name him after that guy. We chose the name because it felt right."
"Hmmph, you can think what you want and I can- OOOHH, PUDDING!"
"..."
"..."
"Cosmo's missing a few screws, isn't he?"
"Yep" was Timmy's reply to the teen.
...
"...And that is where Jorgen lives."
"Hmmmm... say, can we get some streamers, crazy glue, mentos, several liters of cola, glitter, and a dozen colorful teddies?"
"Cosmo, Wanda, I wish for the things Danny just asked for."
One magic 'Poof' later
"What are you planning to do with those items," Wanda asked with suspicion.
"Nothing too bad..."
"Danny, no..."
"Danny, yes?"
"Daniel, as your mother I forbid you- he's gone, isn't he?"
"If you need me, I'll be watching from a safe distance-" chirped Timmy.
"-And I'll be back home, cowering..." whimpered Cosmo.
...
"Huh, I never would have never thought of fairies having arsenals."
"This is where wands, magic potions, and other supplies is kept. And over there is where magic energy is distributed across Fairy World."
"Danny, you said your parents are 'ghost hunters', right? Do they have an arsenal of ghost weapons?"
"Yes to both questions Timmy. My parents have the lab and the ghost portal built into the basement, the 'Fenton Weapons Vault', the 'Fenton Ops Center', the 'Fenton Stockades'-"
"Stockades!?"
"Dad threatened to lock me and Jazz down there one time. Mom scolded Dad for suggesting such a thing and he ended up grumbling about 'grounding them like other parents'. Don't worry Wanda, nothing drastic every happens. I mean, the food comes alive- blame the ecto-contamination- and tries to stage rebellions, but nothing dangerous."
"The food comes to life!?" Asked a wide-eyed Timmy
"Sounds like what happened to me back at the 'Woodstock' concert... Let's just say I lost," muttered a sheepish Cosmo.
...
"Wait, you're telling me that 'Mr. muscles' Jorgen and the Tooth fairy are MARRIED!?"
"Yep" was the matter of fact reply from Timmy and the two fairies.
"I don't know if to classify that as an 'Eww' or a 'Yikes'; and I thought Box Lunch was bad..." Danny said, muttering the last part and giving a shiver of disrelish at the thought. The others give him questioning looks, but continued on with their trip.
...
"So Tucker is a meat-loving, Techo-geek who scares away girls, and Sam (still surprised that she's a girl) is a goth, veggie-lover who will destroy you if you try any funny business."
"Pretty much."
"Tucker sounds a lot like my friend AJ; he's smart with tech and tends to scare away girls too."
"What about Chester?"
"He's cool. He lives in a trailer home with his dad and spends a lot of time outdoors."
"Don't you have any other friends at school?"
"Not really. I'm at the bottom of the social ladder at school. I'm on friendly terms with a small handful of other kids, but Chester and AJ are my main friends."
"I know how you feel, I have a similar situation at my school."
"Yeah... On the upside, I got lots of friends from all over, even in space and in another dimension!"
"Now that's cool..."
...
The group continued on with their tour, chatting with one another when they were interrupted by-
"COSMO!"
"Mother!" Exclaimed Cosmo as he was pulled into a hug.
"Mama Cosma?" Timmy and Wanda turned to look at the new arrival.
"Who?" Asked Danny in a clueless manner.
"That's Cosmo's mom- and your grandmother I guess," Timmy supplied to the halfa.
"It's so good to see you Cosmo. I'm glad you are doing well, as well as you Timmy," Mama Cosma said happily before turning to Wanda. "Wanda..." she said in a tone and look that suggested the she would rather deal with saber-toothed chipmunks instead of her daughter-in-law.
"If you didn't notice, she doesn't like Wanda," Timmy added quietly.
"Yeah, I noticed," Danny whispered.
Mama Cosma then turned to Danny. "And this must be my grandbaby. Come here!" She flew in and with a tight embrace she began to pepper his cheek with kisses. Danny, startled by the sudden onslaught of affection, phased out of her grip. He gave her a wide-eyed stare while rubbing his cheek. Mama Cosma pouted a little before she gave a little chuckle.
"Aww, don't be shy! I'm your Grandmother and we need to catch up."
"Who's shy? And I just met you."
"Exactly my point! I never got the chance to meet you, so now we should spend time together to get to know each other!" Replied Mama Cosma. As she was about to pull Danny into another embrace, Timmy came in between them, much to Danny's relief.
"Well it was nice talking to you Mama Cosma, but we have better be going so BYE!" called out Timmy as he pulled Danny away and they all made their swift escape.
"What's with her? Is she always trying to smother her relations, or it just me?" Asked Danny as they hurriedly went down the street.
The Timmy and the fairies explained to Danny how Mama Cosma was controlling of Cosmo, disliked Wanda, and had caused them trouble in the past. Timmy even said that she didn't know that Cosmo and Wanda had been married for a long time until recently.
"She thought that Cosmo was out getting milk!" Timmy chortled while Danny just guffawed at that. They made their way to the welcome sign, the stopped and chatted some more.
"So next we should definitely go to space. I have a few alien friends that you can meet. Oh, we can also go tour my town! You'll love Chester and AJ!" Timmy babbled on.
"That sounds great Timmy; and while we are at it, I could show you around my town and introduce you to my friends Sam and Tucker. They help me out on patrols and ghost fights, and on the weekends, like today, we like to hang out..." Danny's eyes widen as he recalled something. "Fudge-sicles, I was supposed to meet them today and... Oh no, what time is it?"
"Hmm, Oh! It's... 5:11 pm," Wanda said, temporarily poofing up a clock.
Danny grew worried. "I'm supposed to be home at 6! I gotta let them know-" Danny, reaching for his back pocket, remembered something else. "Oh man, that's right! My phone got smashed when the anti-fairies were invading. I have no way-"
"Cosmo, Wanda; I wish Danny had a new phone with all his contact information, photos and stuff, and it's extremely durable!"
With a poof, a new, sleek phone now rested in Danny's hand. The phone even had a case decorated to look like space. 'Ooooh, touch screen'. Taking a look through the phone's menu, he saw that all his conversations, photos, and other information was saved onto this device. There was even several games and apps on it. Danny, who had always used a flip phone, stared in awe at the device.
"Wow!"
"You did say one of your enemies controlled technology, right? We made sure to ghost-proof it too," Wanda said.
"THANK YOU! This is the coolest gift EVER!" Exclaimed Danny as he scooped up the three small figures into a ghost-yeti hug (those dudes like hugs). "Thank you Timmy," ruffling the boy's brown hair, "Thanks Mom and Dad-"
Danny looked at the fairies, who looked just as surprised as he did. Then, with a 'snerk' of withheld amusement, the two boys and the two fairies burst out laughing in joy. As they started to calm down, something metallic flew in and knocked Danny behind the head.
"OW!" Danny rubbed the back of his head as he stooped down to pick up a very familiar object.
"Are you okay sweetie!?" Wanda implored, concern etched on her face as she went to examine the back of his head.
"Everybody Get DOWN!"
Scooping up Timmy in his arms, Danny jumped to cover behind the welcome sign. Cosmo and Wanda poofed away with their magic, and not a millisecond too soon as a familiar shuttle crashed into the cloud ground ("Seriously, how does that work?" "Magic, DUH!"), sliding to a stop. Out sprang three teens armed and ready for a hurly burly (Hurly Burly? "A rather large commotion, or skirmish; a kerfuffle". Thank you!). The girl dressed in black had a 'Fenton Wrist Ray', the Dark-skinned boy with a 'Fenton Ghost-Laser Lipstick', and the older red-headed girl held the 'Fenton Anti-Creep Stick' ("It's just a metal bat." "A bat with the name 'Fenton' on it!"). All three were all wearing 'Specter Deflectors' with each their own 'Fenton Thermos'.
"Yuck! What's with all the color?!"
"Tucker, Sam, Jazz?!" Asked a surprised Danny as he came around the sign, "What are you-"
"Where have you been? We have been looking all over town for you!
"Were you kidnapped dude?"
"Was it Vlad? That Fruitloop better not-"
"One at a time! Please..." Begged Danny as he tried to settle down his 'rescue party', "I'll explain what happened-"
"Psstt!"
Danny turned to where Timmy was silently gesturing for Danny to come over.
"Can you guys give me a minute?"
"Danny-"
"Trust me on this guys. I will explain, just wait here and give me a moment."
Tucker, Sam, and Jazz looked at each other for a moment, then nodded to Danny their confirmations. He then walked to behind the sign to find Timmy with two birds (pink and green; I'll give you one try to guess who they are).
"What's up?" Danny asked, keeping his low enough to not be overheard.
"You can't tell your friends or sister about the existence of fairies. It's against the rules," Timmy whispered.
"I need to tell them; they are a part of my team and-"
"I'm sorry Sweetheart; the rules are strict with that one," Wanda (the pink bird) chirped up.
Danny thinks for a moment, "What is the exact wording for that rule?"
The book appears. "It's written right here." Danny reads through a bit. As he reads, a mischievous smile grows on his face as he comes up with an idea.
"These rules are concerning 'human' kids. Is there any rules saying 'powerless fairies' aren't allowed to reveal their nature?"
"..."
Both Cosmo and Wanda blink. That question had never been brought up before. They begin to skim through the book themselves as Timmy, watching what was going on, begins to smile as well. Eventually the book is poofed away.
"There's nothing in the book about fairies, with or without magic, not being able to reveal the existence of fairies," Wanda said.
"Yay! A loophole!" Cheered Cosmo, "Can't break a rule that doesn't exist!"
Timmy looks to Danny, who is smirking at the information.
"That's clever."
"I deal with a rules fanatic a lot; you learn to pick up a thing or two. Don't worry about my friends or sister, they'll keep your secret. They've been keeping mine when I first got my powers."
Cosmo, Wanda, and Timmy looked at the teen. He seemed confident and trusting of his friends and sister. Wanda gives a small smile.
"If you trust them, then that's good enough for me," Wanda said.
"Yes!" Cosmo and Timmy cheered.
...
"So they weren't ghosts, they were fairies."
Danny had told them a summary of what happened.
"Yeah. A bunch of evil fairies had taken over their home. Timmy had asked for my help in rescuing the good fairies-"
"Who's Timmy?"
"Oh yeah; Timmy, you guys can come out now."
Timmy pops out of his hiding place, followed by two 'poof's with Cosmo and Wanda appearing. Jazz's eyes widen in shock.
"Huh- Wha- How?" Stuttered the girl in disbelief.
Danny rolled his eyes in amusement. It had taken Jazz forever to accept the fact that extra-dimensional creatures called 'ghosts' actually existed. Now it seems her brain was trying, and failing, to comprehend the existence of fairies; and the possibility of other myths and legends being true...
"Jazz, I know I told you this before: Please stop thinking so much; your going to strain something."
"HAHA, your hilarious."
"Thank you, I try."
The three newcomers stare at the fairy couple for a bit.
"I'm guessing that your Timmy," Tucker earns a nod from the pink capped boy, "So who are you two?"
"I'm Cosmo-"
"-And I'm Wanda-"
"-and WE'RE-" the classic, glowing neon sign and spotlights appear "-FAIRY GODPARENTS!" The sign and lights then poof away.
("Do they do that often?" Danny whispered to Timmy.
"I think so. They did that with me when I first met them," Timmy whispered back.)
"We're magic-" Cosmo said, throwing out a hand of sparkles at the two friends and sister, "Ooh, magic-" another handful of sparkles, "-Ooh!"
"We grant wishes." Wanda stated.
A grin appeared on Tucker's face, "You grant wishes?"
"Only for our assigned godchildren. Timmy here is our godson, so he gets his wishes granted."
The smile disappeared, "Aww man, really? Isn't there exceptions or loopholes to that?"
"Da Rulez are pretty strict when it comes to certain things and aspects of wish granting."
"'Da Rulez'?" Tucker questioned. Danny had the beginnings of a smirk as he realized what might happened next.
"Yeah, this BIG book here!" Cosmo conjured up the rule book, only for it to land on Tucker with an 'Omph!', "Whoops..." Cosmo said as Danny snickered in the background.
"Sorry, that happens a lot," Timmy said as the book was poofed away.
"So you get wishes granted?" Asked Sam
"Yep! So long as it doesn't go against 'Da Rulez' I can pretty much wish for whatever I want".
Jazz was rubbing her temples, "This is a lot to process..."
"Imagine how I feel. I first find out I was adopted, then a bunch of bad luck making evil fairies attack town, followed by-"
"Wait, you're adopted?!" Exclaimed both Sam and Tucker.
Jazz nodded her head in confirmation, "Our parents found Danny in a spaceship-like pod ten years ago. They didn't know who the parents were or how to find them."
"...That's just part of the story..." Danny said slowly, looking slightly nervous and awkward. Cosmo, Wanda, and Timmy shared meaningful looks...
...
"BwaHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
"Go ahead, yuck it up Tuck... And before you ask, no I do NOT have a pet unicorn or that kind of nonsense."
Tucker had collapsed on the cloud-ground, practically dying with laughter as Danny was basically giving him 'the death glare' as his eyes glowed green from his annoyance. Sam and Jazz were frozen with shock and Timmy snickering at the teens' reactions, all the while Wanda looked exasperated. Cosmo was obvious, per the norm. Tucker finally regained his senses.
"Dude, h-what did you h-expect my reaction would be? Come on, this is obviously-"
Wanda flew up to Tucker, pulled out the locket, and popped it open so the three teens could see the picture.
"-looking legit... Danny, is this actually-"
"Yes, these are my birth parents. Honestly, I had a similar reaction as you did," Danny shared as he rubbed the back of his neck, "I mean, not the surprise I was expecting on my birthday-".
"OHMYGOSH, we have to head home! Mom and Dad have been worried sick when you weren't answering your phone," Jazz frantically exclaimed,
"We found it smashed and assumed the worst."
"Yeah, it got smashed before I left to help these guys. Cosmo and Wanda replaced it; check it out!" Danny said excitedly as he showed the new device to his friends and sister. Sam was indifferent as she is used to such fancy things but happy that Danny got something nice. Jazz was interested, not in the phone itself necessarily, but how it was conjured up with a flick of a wand. Tucker-
"Look at the specs on that baby..." Tucker said in an almost worshipful tone.
"Geek out about tech later, we need to get home," Sam ordered. The three teens headed back towards the 'Spector Speeder' with Danny following more slowly. Timmy trotted beside his godbrother.
"You're having a party today?" Asked Timmy.
"Yeah, today's my birthday... or at least we celebrate it today," said Danny as he looked to the fairies. Before they could answer, Timmy began bouncing up and down in excitement.
"Can we go too?" Asked the younger boy, "can we, can we, CAN WE?"
"Erm, I don't know. What about your parents, or mine for that matter. How on earth do I explain all... this?" Danny gestured in the general direction of Fairy World.
"The first problem is easy enough to solve. The second one..." Wanda and Cosmo shared a look. With a flick of their wands, they were now tall, wingless, and crown-less; they looked like normal people with the exception of the colorful hair. Danny's jaw dropped at the sudden change.
"Don't worry about the details, I've got it covered," Wanda said, a slight smirk on her face as she regarded her son's shock.
"I guess that works..." Danny chuckled as he boarded the 'Spector Speeder', with Timmy bounding inside tailed by the 'human' Cosmo and Wanda. Soon the ship, aided by magic, soon sped of towards Amity Park.
...~~~oOo~~~...
Some of the dialogue was really fun to write.
"I'm curious as to what Danny did with those random objects. Also, 'Can't break any rules that don't exist', Gotta love them loopholes!"
The next chapter will be covering the birthday party. There will be music, -
"Cake?"
- some laughs, unexpected visitors-
"Cake?!"
and much more.
"Please tell me there will be cake!"
Now there are some parts I'm unsure of how it would work. One thing is this: Is Danny's birthday really on that day he disappeared, or is it actually on a different day?
"It would be convenient to have it on the same day, and it would be more tragic! A little boy about have his birthday party only to get snatched up by villains... *sniff* Poor little GUY!"
*Hands the weepy Crystal a tissue*
"Thanks..."
Hmmm, that would make that part interesting... I'll think about it. Once again, please feel free to make any reviews and suggestions. Any help is appreciated. Have a good one!
"And bring me some cake!"
