Day 4.- The Lion of Judah
After even more bookworming, Lara Croft decided the time was proper to engage in further exploration. The Horn of Africa surely has nice hills here and there, and one of these has been intervened by man, especifically, by the order of Orthodox Christian priests Father Egwale belonged to.
Lara has rented a jeep and took her old pal, Jonah to yet another adventure. "You know, there's the possibility of settling in, being a fine British Lady," Jonah says. Lara cracks a laugh. "Touché," Lara says. "Abby's letting you go on adventures with another girl?" "Abby hardly considers you a girl, Lara," Jonah answers. And she may be right, Croft has evolved into something completely different than a regular girl. "And what do you think?" Lara asks.
"You look completely different," Jonah answers. "Are you extending your wardrobe?" Of course, by now she's dropped the long pants in favor of the shorts. Her athleticism has reached yet another peak. "I was considering changing my hairstyle," Lara says. "I'd totally go for a braided ponytail. But I'm not sure. My hair isn't long enough yet." Jonah is starting to see sides of Lara he's not quite interested in, so he changes subject. "There's too many hills in here," Jonah says. "How will we know the right one?" Lara looks at him. "We won't, unless we see a proper sign," Lara says. "Use the binoculars."
Jonah uses the binoculars and spots something. "Break for a while," Jonah says. "I saw a crevice." Lara stops. "Anything?" she asks. "I see a painting of a winged lion holding a staff," Jonah says. "The Lion of Judah," Lara says. "Let me see. I'm not sure, but it could be worth exploring. Let's drive nearer."
The night is coming in two hours' time, and Lara doesn't even care in preparing her climbing gear. "It looks like a four hour ascent," Lara says. "There may be a walking path, but climbing seems the safest option. Unless you want to stand guard and I go there by myself." Jonah has had his fair share of climbing with Lara, but this time he sees no path. "I think you should be doing this one on your own," Jonah says. "Apart from a steep fall, I don't think you will find anything hazardous." And he may be correct. The only apparent danger is the hill itself. "We should try this tomorrow morning," Lara says. "We'll camp here today."
