5 year later

5 years had passed a lot has changed the interns are now a resident, there the one yelling and ordering the new batch of interns. Mark has a child name Sofia. Miranda Bailey is the nazi still that scares the hell out of the inters and the new staff of the hospital. Derek and Meredith are celebrating their 5th anniversary everyone at the hospital is invited.

Derek has surgery that day but he makes sure that he will be there at their wedding anniversary. He wouldn't miss it for the world, coming out from the scrub room

"Shepherd" Derek looked back to see who called him and he smiled at his Chief of surgery with someone tall, dark, and handsome

"Hi chief"

"Shepherd I'd like you to meet Dr. Jake Reily He'll be our new OB/GYN attending. Dr. Riely this is our head of Neurosurgery Dr. Derek Shepherd"

"Nice to meet you Dr. Shepherd" he handed his hands to shake

Derek took it and shake "nice to meet you too. We're celebrating at our house you should come and meet the other doctors" as he imposed

"Thank you for the invitation" Jake smiled

"The chief here will give you the address" as he pats Richard's shoulder

"What am I your secretary" he pushed him slightly

"You love me" they both laugh until a phone ring disturbed it.

"I'm sorry it's mine" he saw the caller ID "I have to take this" as he excused himself and answered the call

"Hey sweetheart"

"Hey, how are you?"

"I'm good, I just met the chief and one of my colleagues and he invited me to his house they are celebrating something" as he took the seat at the cafeteria

"Well, that's good. Have fun okay but don't drink too much" she used a strict tone

"Yes, Mrs. Reily" a laugh heard from the other line "so how're the kids"

"They are fine, well Angela went upstairs to study she has a test tomorrow. And henry is here sleeping on my lap we were watching tom and jerry, now I am watching tom and jerry"

"I missed you so much" there's a sadness in their tone because this is the first time he's been away from his family that he loved so much

"We missed you too" she sighed "but don't worry we will see you in a few months anyway"

"Yeah I know, but I miss my wife. I don't know if I can sleep without you next to me"

"There's something you'll be looking forward to when we got there," she said seductively "I'll hang up now because I'm going to out Henry to his bed. I love you, Jake"

"I love you too Addison" then they both hang up.

Jake got a text from Richard stating the address of the party, he stands up and walked towards the parking lot. Good thing he's familiar with Seattle so he didn't have a hard time finding the place, a loud noise is heard from a distance, as he walked to the front door and rang the bell a woman opened it.

"Hi, I'm Jake Reily. I was invited by Dr. Shepherd"

Reluctantly the woman open the door for him to come inside "thank you" filling the name of the woman

"Meredith, I'm his wife"

"Oh okay" he smiled at her and she smiled back. She leads the way where the party is and full of unfamiliar faces are around then he saw Derek approaching him.

"Dr. Reily glad you can make it" he's being pulled by Derek

"This is Dr. Mark Sloan plastic's attending, Dr. Preston Burke's cardiothoracic attending, Dr. Miranda Bailey our general surgeon attending. And this is Dr. Jake Reily our new OB/GYN attending"

"Nice to meet you just call me Jake" the greeting are nonstop a lot of meets and greet.

After meeting some of the staff Jake sited in one of the tables that are vacant and followed by Derek and some other attendings

"So Jake has ever been married"

"Yeah" show off his ring "almost 10 years"

"Now imagine being married for that long, what's the secret?" Derek asked

"Some say a secret to a happy marriage is always a secret" Jake smiled but it seems to disappoint them "well my wife and I just communicate, we talked if there's a problem we don't run away or distract ourselves" took a pause "besides raising 2 children in the unhappy home isn't really what we want"

"She must be one amazing woman" Burke compliment the rest nodded

"She is" the others can tell by looking at Jake the way he speaks about his wife and children they can see that he's a happily married man.

Derek was envious of him a little he wishes that too for him and Meredith to have children and grow old together.

"What does she do?" Bailey asked

"She's a neonatal surgeon, I think you'll able to meet her in a few months. She'll also be one of the attending"

Miranda asked the million-dollar question "who's the lucky woman?"

"Her name is Ad-" Jake was disturbed by Meredith calling Derek

"Derek we need to give a speech" she stands next to him soon after Derek stand up and went to the center and makes this touching speech he has for Meredith, and Meredith also prepared her speech too.

While watching the married couple vowed to each other Jake thought of his wife on how he missed her and their children. He excused himself to his colleagues and tell them that his going back to his hotel to talk to his family, the others understand him so they let him go.

Jake has arrived at his hotel room and immediately dialed his wife's number after a couple of rings he heard her sleepy voice

"Dr. Montgomery-Reily" without even looking at the caller ID

"Hey, obviously I woke you up. I'm sorry"

"It's okay, how was the party?" as she sits up and opens her nightstand

"It was okay, and it was the 5th wedding anniversary celebration. That is why I'm calling you at this hour, I miss you so much" he lay down on his bed. He heard her chuckled

"You got jealous of them, honey I'm sure they the one who's jealous at is because we've been married for 10 years and going strong"

"I know" sad tone were traced

"I miss you too Jake, we should rest because I have surgery tomorrow and you're going to start to work there. I love you"

"I love you too Addison" then he hangs up and went to sleep.
