I hope it won't take too long to get other updates out. I'm going to try to update as much as I can, but I'm not promising anything. I've been working hard on these chapters as well as working hard for my etsy shop. So I do apologize for that. I hate it that it takes me so long to get chapters out, but only having one arm full strength and the other well not so much makes it hard to type. Chapter 3
The Whore
Natasha gripped the door tightly as Dean sped down the road. She had never seen so many demons like that and it scared her. She could only hope that they would be able to get away from them safely. She closed her eyes as she thought about her mom. She wanted to make it back to her mom.
"Drive faster, Dean." Sam ordered his older brother as he looked over nervously at his older brother.
"I can't! Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm amazing."
"You ever seen that many?"
"No. No way, not in one place."
"What the hell? Damn it!"
Rob says an enochian exorcism.
"Well that's something you don't see every day." Dean said blinking a few times in confusion.
Natasha took a shaky breath looking up seeing the man standing there.
"You three alright?" Rob asked, looking at them.
"Peachy."
"Be careful. It's…dangerous around here."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait."
"No need to thank us."
"No, hold up a sec! Who are you?" Dean questioned his brows furrowed.
Natasha blinked a few times. They looked like normal people. Just like her, but now she was more rough around the edges and becoming more and more like a hunter.
"We're the Sacrament Lutheran Militia." Rob explained to them.
"I'm sorry—the what?"
"I hate to tell you this, but those were demons and this is the Apocalypse. So…buckle up."
Natasha rolled her eyes, of course they were in the Apocalypse. Dean and Sam now were trying to end it so mankind could live. And she of course went in to help them even though she wasn't a hunter herself.
"Looks like we're in the same line of business." Sam said as he looked at the people that they had met.
"And among colleagues. That's a police-issued shotgun. That truck is, uh…inspired. Where'd you guys pick up all this crap?" Dean questione his brows a little.
"You know you pick things up along the way." Paul explained to them.
"Guys, come on. This whole corner of the state is nuts with demon omens. We just want to help. That's all."
"We're on the same team here. Just talk to us." Sam said needing to know the answers of why normal people were doing this.
"Follow us."
SPNSPN
Natasha looked around the church biting her lower lip softly. This was really strange of how people were going about hunting demons.
"Who would have thought the Apocalypse could be so romantic? Marriage, family—it's a blessing. Especially in times like this. So hold on to that." The pastor said with a smile.
"Wedding?" Sam scoffed a bit, shaking his head. "Seriously?"
"Yeah. We've had eight so far this week." Paul aid with a smile.
Natasha shook her head. That was something that wasn't normal. She followed the brothers and the pastor.
"Congratulations! Yay!" The crowd yelled happily.
"So Rob tells me you boys hunt demons." Pastor Gideon said as he looked at the three of them.
"Uh…yes sir." Sam said softly pursing his lips together wondering what exactly was going on in this town. There were just too many demons.
"You missed a few."
"Yeah. Tell us about it. Any idea why they're here?"
The pastor shook his head. "They sure seem to like us, though. Follow me, gentlemen."
They followed the preaching into the church.
"So you're a preacher?" Dean questioned his brow raising some.
"Not what you expected, huh?"
"Well, dude, you're packing."
"Strange times."
They walked down to the basement.
Natasha bit her lip softly looking around nervously. Her hand went to her phone that was in her pocket.
Sam looked over at Natasha. "Hey…"
Natasha looked over at Sam.
Sam gave her a soft look seeing the look of worry etched across her face. "Everything will be okay."
Nastasha swallowed the lump in her throat. She nodded her head shyly.
"We'll get you back to your mom…"
"Sam…"
Sam looked at her, his brow raising some. "What?"
"I want to stay and help."
Sam swallowed the lump in his throat. He still couldn't figure out why she would want this life. She still had family and that was a sheriff. "Why?"
"Because it's the right thing to do. My mom told me to never back down from something that I could help with."
Sam looked into her eyes. "Are you certain that you want to do that?" He asked softly.
Natasha nodded her head softly.
Dean looked over seeing a child packing some salt rounds. "Is that a twelve-year-old packing salt rounds?"
"Everybody pitches in." The pastor said with a firm nod of his head.
"So, the whole church?" Sam questioned his brows furrowing some.
"The whole town."
"A whole town full of hunters. I don't know whether to run screaming or buy a condo." Dean said, shaking his head.
"Well the demons were killing us. We had to do something."
"So why not call the National Guard?" Natasha questioned looking at the pastor with her brows raised in confusion. Why didn't they call the National Guard for this?
"We were told not to."
"By who?" Sam questioned his brows raising some. Who on earth would be telling them not to do that.
Pastor Gideon didn't reply to Sam's question.
"Come on, Padre. You're as locked and loaded as we've ever seen. And that exorcism was Enochian. Someone's telling you something." Dean said looking over at Pastor Gideon.
"Look, I'm sorry, I, uh, I can't discuss it." He said, shaking his head.
A young woman came over to them. "Dad, it's okay."
"Leah—"
"It's Sam and Dean Winchester. And their new hunter in training Natasha. They're safe. I know all about them."
"You do?" Dean questioned raising his brow.
"Sure. From the angels."
"The angels. Awesome."
"Don't worry. They can't see you here. The…marks on your ribs, right?"
"So you know all about us because angels told you?" Sam questioned looking at the young woman.
"Yes. Among other things."
"Like the snappy little exorcism spell." Dean said as his brows raised.
"And they show me where the demons are going to be, before it happens. How to fight back."
"Never been wrong. Not once. She's very special." The pastor said with a smile.
"Dad…" Leah said softly blushing some.
"And let me guess. Before you see something, you get a really bad migraine, you see flashing lights?" Dean questioned his brows raising trying to get answers from her.
"How'd you know?"
"'Cause you're not the first prophet we've met. But you are the cutest."
Pastor Gideon gave Dean a sour look.
"I mean that with total respect, of course." He said backpedaling some knowing that he needed to cover up the fact that he liked her.
Natasha shook her head lightly.
SPNSPN
Natasha rested her head on her hand as she looked over at Sam. She knew that he was worried about their angel friend that she only had met once and he wasn't in a good place when she met him.
"Cas, hey, uh, it's me. So we are in Blue Earth, Minnesota, and um, we could use a little help. I…hope you get this." Sam hung up his phone letting out a breath before looking at Paul. "Busy night?"
"I'm telling you, since The End started, it's been like one long last call. That round's on me." Paul explained as he put a beer in front of Sam.
"Thanks."
Dean came over to Sam and Natasha. "So, did you get a hold of Cas?"
"Yeah, I left him a message. I think. So uh, what's your theory? Why do all of the demons hit?"
"I don't know. Gank the girl? The prophet, maybe?"
Sam shook his head.
Natasha pursed her lips together, her brows furrowing some wondering if this girl was a prophet or was she something else.
"What?"
"Just these angels are sending these people to do their dirty work."
"Yeah. And?"
"And they could get ripped to shreds."
"We're all gonna die, Sam. In like a month—maybe two. I mean it. This is the end of the world, but these people aren't freaking out. In fact they're running to the exit in an orderly fashion. I don't know that that's such a bad thing."
"Who says they're all gonna die? What ever happened to us saving them?"
Church bells began to ring and people exited the bar.
Dean blinked a few times in confusion. "Something I said?"
Sam looked over at Paul. "Paul. What's going on?"
"Leah's had another vision."
"Wanna go to church?"
"You know me—downright pious."
Natasha let out a breath before nodding her head. "Alright. Let's go and see what's up." She said as she got up to her feet stretching out.
SPNSPN
"Three miles off Talmadge Road." Pastor Gideon said addressing everyone.
Leah whispered to her father.
"Five miles. There are demons gathered. I…don't know how many, but a lot. Thank you, Leah. So, who's going to join me?"
"Wouldn't miss it." Rob said with a nod of his head.
"Someone's got to cover Rob's ass." Paul said looking over at his friend.
"We're in, Padre." Dean said with a nod of his head.
"Thank you. I'd like to offer a prayer. "Our Father in Heaven-"
"Yeah, not so much." Dean said, backing away.
"Help us to fight in your name. We ask that you protect us from all servants of evil. Guide our hands in defeating them, and deliver us home, safely. Thank you, Amen."
SPNSPN
Sam let out a sigh as he stood with Dean and Natasha. "I guess that's what it's like, huh?"
Dean looked over at Sam. "What?"
"Having backup."
"Dean. Sam. Natasha." Dylan said walking over to them.
"Yo." Dean said looking over at him.
"Hey. So, um, is—is that—is that cool that I get a ride back with you guys?"
"Hey, you've saved my ass twice already. One more time, you can drive. Get a beer?
Hey, you earned it. Don't tell your mom."
"Oh, believe me—I will not." Dylan screamed suddenly.
"Dylan!"
Dylan was attacked by a demon and killed.
"No!"
Natasha looked on with wide eyes. She couldn't believe that this was happening and to such a young man. He was just coming into his own.
SPNSPN
Sam looked over at Dean. "No drinking, no gambling, no premarital sex. Dean, they basically just outlawed ninety percent of your personality."
"Yeah, well, whatever. When in Rome." Dean said waving his hands like it was nothing.
Natasha let out a soft laugh.
"So, uh…you're cool with it?"
"I'm not cool. I'm not, not cool. I'm just, look man, I'm not a prophet. We're not locals. It's not my call. I'll catch up with you."
Natasha looked over at Sam blinking a few times in confusion. "Are we just going to let him go?"
Sam let out a breath and shrugged his shoulders.
SPNSPN
Sam came over to Paul. "Hey. So what happened to, uh, "the Apocalypse is good for business?""
"Yeah, right up until Leah's angel pals banned the good stuff. Wanna help me kill some inventory?" Paul asked, looking at the two of them.
"Sure."
Natasha nodded her head. "Yeah I guess we can do that."
"Don't get me wrong. I grew up here. I love this town, but uh, well, these holy rollers?"
"Yeah, yeah, I uh, I noticed you're not the praying type."
"Yeah, well, between you and me, neither are half those guys. A couple of months back, they're all in here, getting wasted, banging the nanny. Now they're all Warriors of God. Cheers."
"Cheers."
Natasha raised her glass before taking a sip of her drink.
"Look, there's sure as hell demons. And maybe there is a God. I don't know. Fine. But I'm not a hypocrite. I never prayed before and I ain't starting now. If I go to hell, I'm going honest. How 'bout you?"
"What about me?"
"Not a true believer, I take it."
"I believe, yeah. I do. I'm just. Pretty sure God stopped caring a long time ago."
The two of them scoffed.
Natasha shook her head lightly knowing that was true.
SPNSPN
Sam and Natasha came into the motel.
Dean looked up his brows raising. "Where you been?"
Natasha let out a soft giggle.
"Drinkin'."
"You rebel."
"I'd have had more, um, but it was curfew."
"Which sucks that there is one." Natasha said as she sat down on the couch.
Dean shook his head lightly. "Right."
"You hear they shut down the cell towers?"
"No. That's, uh, news to me."
"Yeah. No cable, internet. Total cut off from the "corruption of the outside world.""
"Huh."
"Don't you get it? They're turning this place into some kind of fundamentalist compound."
"No, I get it."
"And all you've got a "hmm?" What's wrong with you?"
"I get it. I just don't care."
Natasha's brow raised.
"What?"
"What difference does it make?"
"It makes a hell of a— At what point does this become too far for you? Stoning? Poisoned Kool-Aid? The angels are toying with these people!"
"Angel world, angel rules, man."
"And since when is that okay with you?"
"Since the angels' got the only lifeboats on the Titanic. I mean, who exactly is supposed to come along and save these people? It was supposed to be us, but we can't do it."
"So what? You wanna, you wanna just want to stop fighting, roll over?"
"I don't know, maybe."
"Don't say that."
"Why not?"
"Cause you can't do this."
"Actually, I can."
"No you can't. You can't do this to me. I got one thing, one thing, keeping me going. You think you're the only one white-knuckling it here, Dean? I can't count on anyone else. I can't do this alone. Dean."
"I got to clear my head." Dean said moving towards the door.
"It's past curfew. It's past curfew." Sam called out as Dean walked out of the room.
Natasha let out a soft breath shaking her head lightly.
SPNSPN
Natasha sat up when Castiel came stumbling into the motel room. She sleepily rubbed her eyes.
"I got your message. It was long, your message. And I find the sound of your voice grating."
"What's wrong with you? Are you…drunk?"
"No!…Yes."
Sam let out a breath as he looked at Cas. He couldn't believe that the angel was drunk. "What the hell happened to you?"
"I found a liquor store."
"And?"
"And I drank it. Why'd you call me?"
"Whoa. There you go. Easy. Are you okay?" Sam said helping Cas sit down instead of almost faceplanting right onto the floor.
Natasha bit her lip as she looked at Cas with furrowed brows. She didn't think that angels could get drunk.
"Don't ask stupid questions. Tell me what you need." Cas said with a groan as he looked at the younger Winchester.
"T-there have been these—these demon attacks. Massive, right on the edge of town. And we can't figure out why they're—"
"Any sign of angels?"
"Sort of. They've been speaking to this prophet."
"Who?"
"This girl, Leah Gideon."
"She's not a prophet." Cas said with a shake of his head.
"I'm pretty sure she is. Visions, headaches—the whole package."
"The names of all the prophets, they're seared into my brain. Leah Gideon is not one of them."
"Then what is she?" Natasha questioned her voice coming out rather sleepily. "Is she something much more dangerous to us?"
SPNSPN
"We went out looking for—You alright?" Sam questioned as Dean came in with blood on him.
Natasha rushed up to him to check him over the protective sister side of her came out even though she had lost her brother long ago.
"Yeah. It's—it's not my blood. Paul's dead." Dean said as he swatted Natasha's proding hands away.
"What?!" Sam said in shock, his eyes wide.
"Jane shot him."
"It's starting." Castiel said, confirming something that they didn't know.
"What's starting? Where the hell have you been?" Dean snapped looking at Castiel.
"On a bender."
"Did he—did you say "on a bender?""
"Yeah. He's still pretty smashed." Sam confirmed as he looked over at the angel.
"It is not of import. We need to talk about what's happening here."
"Well I'm all ears."
Natasha nodded her head in agreement knowing that they had information that Dean didn't have.
"Well, for starters…Leah is not a real prophet." Sam pointed out.
"Well, what is she, exactly?"
"The whore."
"Wow. Cas, tell us what you really think." Dean said looking over at the angel.
Natasha gave Dean a sour look. "Come on Dean listen to what he has to say alright?"
Dean let out a huff and nodded his head gesturing for Cas to continue.
"She rises when Lucifer walks the earth. "And she shall come, bearing false prophecy." This creature has the power to take a human's form, read minds. Book of Revelation calls her "the Whore of Babylon.""
"Well, that's catchy."
"The real Leah was probably killed months ago." Sam said, letting out a breath.
"What about the demons attacking the town?"
"They're under her control."
"And the Enochian exorcism?"
"Fake. It actually means, "you, um, breed with the mouth of a goat." It's funnier in Enochian."
"So the demons smoking out—that's just a con? Why? What's the endgame?"
"What you just saw—innocent blood spilled in God's name."
"You heard all that heaven talk. She manipulates people."
"To slaughter and kill and sing preppy little hymns. Awesome."
"Her goal is to condemn as many souls to hell as possible. And it's…just beginning. She's well on her way to dragging this whole town into the pit."
"Alright. So, then, how do we go Pimp of Babylon all over this bitch?"
Natasha shook her head as she got up to her feet knowing that Dean was thinking very very crazy. They needed to do research to figure out what their next steps were.
SPNSPN
Cas put down a wooden stake on the table in front of Sam, Dean, and Natasha. "The whore can be killed with that. It's a stake made from a cypress tree in Babylon."
Dean looked at the wooden stake before looking up at Cas, Sam, and Natasha. "Great. Let's ventilate her."
"It's not that easy." Cas said, shaking his head.
"'Course not." Dean said, letting out a breath.
"How do we kill it then?" Natasha asked, her brows furrowed in worry.
"The whore can only be killed by a true Servant of Heaven."
"Servant, like…"
"Not you. Or me. Sam, of course, is an abomination. We'll have to find someone else."
Natasha looked over at Sam with a look of concern what did Cas mean by Sam was an abomination. "That wasn't very nice of you Cas."
Sam looked over at Natasha knowing that she didn't know about him fully. She didn't know the dark side of him and he felt relief knowing that she didn't know.
SPNSPN
Natasha looked at the book that she had before biting her lower lip softly seeing Pastor Gideon show up with Castiel in a bright light.
"What the hell was that?"
"Yeah, he wasn't lying about the angel thing. Have a seat, Padre. We got to have a chat."
After the chat Pastor Gideon looked at the cypress stake and shook his head. "No. She's my daughter."
"I'm sorry, but she's not. She's the thing that killed your daughter." Dean said, shaking his head.
"That's impossible."
"But it's true. And deep down, you know it. Look, we get it—it's too much. But if you don't do this, she's going to kill a lot of people. And damn the rest to hell." Sam explained to the pastor.
Dean picked up the stake and held it out to the pastor.
"It's just…Why does it have to be me?"
"You're a Servant of Heaven." Castiel told the pastor.
"And you're an angel."
"Poor example of one."
SPNSPN
Natasha looked over at Sam pursing her lips together. "What Cas said earlier…"
Sam looked over at her.
"It's not true you know. You don't look like an abomination."
Sam rubbed the back of his neck shyly before looking her in the eyes. "There are things about you don't know about me, Nat, and I hope that you never learn them."
SPNSPN
Leah looked into the mirror in a wardrobe and her true face was revealed in the mirror.
Castiel grabbed Leah and held onto her as she struggled against him.
"Daddy! Don't hurt me!" Leah pleaded with Pastor Gideon.
"Gideon, now!"
Leah chanted in Enochian, putting a spell on Castiel. "Pizin noco iad."
"Aah!"
Leah used a form of telekinesis to push Pastor Gideon, Sam, Dean and Natasha away. She ran off while they got up to their feet.
"Gideon! Wait! No!" Sam said as he, Dean and Natasha ran leaving Cas on the ground.
SPNSPN
Leah ran down to the basement. "Help me! He's a demon!"
The crowd began to fight Pastor Gideon as he came in causing him to lose the cypress stake.
"Light the kerosene."
"Come on, come on!" Dean said with a groan.
The sinners locked in the storage room begged to be let out.
Sam tackled Rob before he could light the kerosene, and then threw the lighter across the room.
Natasha rushed to the storage room.
Leah knocked Dean down with her telekinesis.
Dean reached for the cypress stake.
"Please. Like you're a servant of Heaven." Leah said with a scoff.
"Let me go!" Jane yelled.
"This is why my team's gonna win. You're the great vessel? You're pathetic, self-hating, and faithless. It's the end of the world. And you're just gonna sit back and watch it happen."
Dean grabbed the stake, before punching Leah and staked her. "Don't be so sure, whore."
Leah's body shakes and the stake caught on fire. It exploded leaving a burning hole where it had entered her body.
Natasha got the people who were locked in the storage room.
"But…I don't understand. How are we supposed to get to paradise now?"
"I'm sorry. Pretty sure you're headed in a different direction." Dean said as he looked at Jane.
Pastor Gideon tried to stand. Sam grabbed him and helped him up.
"Gotcha."
"Come on." Dean called out.
Natasha nodded her head firmly.
SPNSPN
Dean and Sam have Castiel and Pastor Gideon helping them walk the stairs while Natasha walks behind them.
"Dean, how did you do that?" Sam questioned as he looked over at his brother.
"What?"
"Kill her."
"Long run of luck held out, I guess."
"last I checked, she could only be ganked by a servant of Heaven."
"Well, what do you want me to tell you? I saw a shot. I went for it."
They get Pastor Gideon and Castiel into the backseat of the Impala.
Natasha got into the back checking them over.
"Alright. Here we go."
"Watch your head, now. Are you gonna do something stupid?" Sam questioned looking over at Dean.
"Like what?"
"Like Michael stupid."
"Come on, Sam. Give me a break."
SPNSPN
Natasha packed her bag up, biting her lower lip softly.
"How's the head?" Dean asked Gideon
"I'm seeing double. But that may be the painkillers."
"You'll be okay."
"No."
"Where you going?" Sam questioned looking at his brother.
"I'm just gonna grab some clean bandages out of the trunk. Relax."
"There. How's that?"
Dean started the Impala and revved the engine. Sam runs out after him while Dean takes off down the road.
Natasha ran out following Sam.
"Damn it! Dean! DEAN!"
"Oh you gotta be fucking kidding me. Where the fuck is he going?"
Sam took a breath and looked at her with a worried gaze. He had no idea of what Dean was thinking and it wasn't good.
