Appearance: Blake is a fair-skinned young woman with wavy black hair and amber eyes. Her Faunus trait is a pair of black cat ears on top of her head. She primarily dresses in a black short-sleeved shirt and sweatpants, and she wears a headband or bow to hide her cat ears when not in costume.
Bio: Blake Arryn Belladonna is the daughter of former Faunus Rights Activist Ghira Belladonna and his wife Khali. Blake's life was an uneasy one; since she was a little kid, she was hated and discriminated against by the people around her for her demi-human nature. The mistreatment she would suffer caused her to become bitter toward humans and keep to herself, refusing contact with anybody but those she knew and trusted. Her parents would often try to implore her to not let her anger rule her, that just as humanity should learn, Faunus should accept the differences of the human, only then could there be peace.
Blake, while greatly respecting her parents, did not share their faith in humanity's ability to change, and would spend many days looking at humans with distrust and contempt. Until one day, when she was with her parents, she had been snatched away by an unruly group of children who were being taught the xenophobic ways of the previous generation. The pain and fear that Blake felt was unimaginable as the children began to savagely beat her away from any eyes. Thankfully, she was soon saved by the intervention of a young boy, a human, who drove away the attackers and offered her aid; while surprised at being helped by a non-faunus, Blake accepted the boy's aid.
After this act of kindness, Blake would soon find herself regularly encountering the boy, named Kaine, and he would treat her with nothing but kindness every time. Blake, initially distrustful of the boy's motives, was confused at his continuous kindness toward her and asked his reasons. The answer he gave surprised her; he stated that he believed all life, human or not, was precious and should be respected, and that he didn't believe in the xenophobic ways of his own kind. These words touched Blake to her core and ignited a new hope in her, hope that her parents were right and that humans and Faunus could live together peacefully.
The years would pass and Blake would grow to become a wonderful young woman with a passion and love for literature. She was a smart academic student, a graceful acrobat, and a righteous defender of minorities. She also would come to be enrolled in Beacon Academy and make many great friends with her peers, namely a certain black and red-haired girl and 8 others, including her childhood friend. However, everything about her world would be changed in one day; after having an encounter with some cosmic rays, Blake would find herself with the power to control darkness and shadow. Frightened at these abilities, Blake was hesitant when some of her friends came up with the idea of becoming superheroes, but after witnessing Kaine risk his life to save a child, it was enough to change her mind. Taking on the name of Nyx, after the Greek Goddess of the night, Blake became Team Meta's dark mistress; be careful not to cross her or you'll end up with the worst kinds of nightmares.

Dark World Connection/Metahuman Physiology: After being hit by a wave of cosmic radiation, Blake's DNA was permanently altered, enhancing her physiology and granting her a connection to the Dark World, an extra-dimensional realm of primordial darkness. Blake's body acts as a conduit for the energies of this realm, and she can use it for various effects. Due to the nature of her powers, Blake has been classified as a Class 6 metahuman and a potential Omega Level Superhuman, possessing the potential to plunge all of existence into eternal darkness.
Darkness Manipulation: Blake can tap into the Dark World's energies in order to create an absence of light, allowing her control of darkness and shadow. While the true extent of her abilities has yet to be explored, Blake has shown remarkable skill and prowess in the use of her power, being able to best even other conduits of the Dark World.
-Shadow Constructs: Blake can form the unique matter of the Dark World into anything she desires, only limited by her creativity and mental strength. She can create anything from swords to guns and can project the dark energy in the form of gas, liquid, or solid. Before Dynamo helped her extend her control over her powers, she could form objects that had the maximum density of hardened rubber and the consistency of tar at 40 degrees Fahrenheit. As well, she could form objects with a maximum volume of approximately 750 cubic feet, sufficient to encompass ten human beings comfortably. However, under Dynamo's guidance, Nyx learned to project sufficient darkness to envelop an entire building. Her constructs also became capable of absorbing energy directed against them, namely light; the limits to the amount of energy these objects could absorb harmlessly are also unknown. She has been able to create constructs capable of restraining incredibly strong metahumans such as Visceral and Ironhide.
-Darkness Projection: Blake can project her dark energies in the form of destructive blasts with tremendous force, the limits of which are unknown. She can also project a huge field of darkness in an area and block out any light.
Shadow Walking: Blake can envelop herself in a field of darkness, allowing her to move through the Dark World to appear in a separate location from her point of origin. A span of miles on Earth can be traversed in only a few steps via shortcuts through the Dark World. Nyx can teleport other persons or objects along with herself in this fashion, too, though she usually only teleports herself due to the Dark World's toxic environment. Normally, she can only teleport up to 3 or 5 people at once, but during the fight against Omega, she teleported at least 30 people away from the city. This effort was done while charged by Dynamo, and tired her shortly afterward.
-Inter-dimensional Travel: Blake can open up rifts in space-time to travel between other dimensions, as she was able to transport herself, along with Kaine, Ruby, and Jaune into the Dark World to escape a sealed room. However, she seems to be limited in this ability in compared to her basic teleportation, as she expressed to Weiss that her access was tenuous and she didn't know if she'd be able to freely enter and exit at her leisure.
Shadow Form: Blake can merge with her own shadow and become a living being of darkness. While in this state, she is able to change her body into a 2-Dimensional form able to flatten against any surface and move silently and speedily wherever she wanted. She could glide along walls, slip under doors and through cracks, and travel from one shadow to another, as well as absorb other people or objects, carrying them with her. She also had the ability to shape-shift her physical body, capable of stretching and shaping herself anyway she wants.
-Shadow Possession: Blake can merge her shadow with the shadows of a machine or a living being. She can use the shadow to control the being that she is connected to, in a similar manner to Shikamaru's Shadow Possession Jutsu.
Flight: Blake can manifest wings of darkness to fly; she can also turn her body into a gaseous cloud of darkness and move at high velocity.
Energy Absorption: Blake's powers allow her a modicum of energy absorption, since darkness is an absent energy, meaning other energies do not exist in it. She is primarily capable of absorbing light, but can also absorb heat and sound. Blake can drain the light from any source, from lamps to the stars themselves; this makes her a perfect antithesis to light users such as Jaune, as she can absorb their attacks and grow stronger from it. Her darkness has often been described as "cold like the Lake Cocytus" and has been shown to have freezing effects on people and objects, as well as inducing audio deprivation in those she ensnares in her shadows. She has also been shown to absorb the light from people (souls) who are absorbed into her shadow form.
Fear Perception and Manipulation: Blake has limited telepathic abilities that allow her to view the deepest fears of an individual in a hyper-realistic manner by touching them. This allows her to gain insight on how she can manipulate others, though she usually opts against it as it feels invasive. She can also manipulate and amplify the fears of those she touches to create nightmares for her victims, as she forced an anti-faunus murderer to face his deceased victims in order to torture him.
-Darkside View: By coming in contact with a victim's shadow, Blake can cause them emotional agony by forcing them to face their darkest thoughts and inner evil.
Superhuman Senses: Due to her demi-human status, Blake possesses senses greater than that of an ordinary human. She can see at far distances, hear sounds lower or higher than the normal hearing range, and her sense of smell is strong enough to recognize and track people and objects by their scent alone. She can perceive infrared radiation, heat, pheromones & emotions such as fear or lust. She also possesses night-vision, being able to see in pitch-black darkness unimpeded.
Superhuman Speed: Blake is able to move at low level superhuman speeds. She has attacked faster than the eye could follow and even Photon, who can move at light-speed, has had trouble tracking her movements.
Superhuman Agility: Blake's agility, flexibility, dexterity, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of even the finest human athlete.
Superhuman Reflexes: Blake possesses remarkable reflexes. She is able to dodge a nearly point-blank shot from a handgun and is capable of jumping large distances, leaping from building to building and even on moving vehicles.
Superhuman Strength: Blake possesses a a low degree of superhuman strength allowing her to lift 300 pounds.
Superhuman Durability: Blake's bone and muscle tissues are augmented to levels that are considerably stronger and harder than a normal person. She has taken blows from Ironhide and Titania with minimal injury, and even when fighting against Visceral, she came out with only superficial scratches.
Darkness Empowerment: Blake can gain strength from darkness. The darker an area is, the stronger she becomes.
Abilities
Thief: Though she is ashamed to admit it, Blake is an experienced thief. From a young age, she was able to steal things without notice and escape detection. After gaining her powers, Blake became better at being a thief, using her teleportation and shadow form to move through places unnoticed.
Skilled Fighter: Growing up in an intolerant society, Blake learned many forms of self-defense techniques to protect herself. She has also been taught various fighting styles by her friends, including martial arts, wrestling, and basic street fighting. These skills combined with her powers make her a ruthless opponent, and allow her to take down enemies even when her powers are inhibited.
Talented Acrobat: Blake is an exceptional acrobat, owing to her agility and reflexes. She uses this in tandem with her teleportation to avoid attacks and deliver quick strikes to opponents.
Tactician: Blake is adept strategist, able to plan out successful and good plans for attacks. She was able to devise a plan to trap an anti-faunus serial killer and was integral in developing the plan to beat Omega.
Weaknesses
Sensory Overload: Blake's heightened senses are as much as a hindrance as they are an advantage. Many enemies have been able to take advantage of her senses to incapacitate her. For instance, when going up against Boom, the sonic villain was able to cripple Blake with sonic blasts due to her heightened sense of hearing.
Light: While she is capable of absorbing it, Blake can still be harmed by light if it is of a high enough intensity. When exposed to bright enough light, she is unable to use her shadows, though she can still teleport. Her shadow form, especially, is vulnerable to light, being paralyzed and temporarily obliterated when hit with a UV ray.
Dark World Connection: Blake's connection to the Dark World can be very dangerous, as her body is merely a conduit for the energies of the eldritch dimension. If she is not careful, she can end up becoming corrupted or possessed by the Dark World's energies.
