It has been 10 years since Kazuma and Megumin moved to Japan. Many of their friends and comrades miss them, Yunyun is someone that misses them both in particular. However, currently, it is her sick father that occupies her thoughts most of the time. Over the last two years, his health has been dropping drastically. So Yunyun is currently sitting by her father's bed, and nursing him.
"Hey, Yunyun, could you listen to an old man's last request?" Hiropin said as he firmly grasped his daughter's hand.
"Sure dad," She answered calmly as she put a warm towel on his forehead.
"Have you thought about getting married to someone?" He blurted out, making his daughter blush furiously.
"N-no, and there isn't anyone out there that would go for me anyway," Yunyun hurriedly answered.
"Isn't there anyone out there that you would want to have a romantic relationship with, I mean you are almost 28, your mother and I had you when we were both only 18, are you trying to double that number?" Hiropin asked an unnatural hint of concern in his usually carefree voice.
"WELL KAZUMA ISN'T HERE ANYMORE!" Yunyun suddenly erupted, and she instantly cupped her mouth in her hands and turned away from her father, completely embarrassed by the fact that she just yelled at her sick father.
"Oh, so you did have feelings for him after all," Hiropin noted, as he lovingly patted her on the back.
"Yes," Yunyun reluctantly admitted, as her cheeks now matched her crimson eyes.
"Why are you so embarrassed, wanting to marry the Demon kingslayer is completely fine, and Kazuma knows our customs very well, so if you had gotten into a relationship with him, I would have given you my full support," He reassured.
"He is Megumin's husband, and I can't even see them anymore, and I have no idea where Japan is, much less how to get there, but hey let's say I somehow meet them, and if I manage to do all that, do you think Megumin will let me have sex with them?" Yunyun complained.
"If you could experience one day of Megumin's life, do you think that would make you happy?" He asked.
"That would be… nice," She thought as she imagined Kazuma embracing her, making her go bright red again.
"Hmm, I and your mother did make a magical item together, that lets you experience exactly what someone else experiences at the same time, we didn't end up using it that, since you become like a puppet that mirrors all the actions of the person you experience, which wasn't what we wanted," He explained as he casually summoned a black/red necklace into his hand.
"What did you want it to do?" Yunyun interrogated a little suspicious of the item her father handed to her.
"Well, we wanted to experience how the other one felt while we were having sex, but it didn't work since we both wanted to experience the other's perspective, and then we ended up just lying in bed until someone took off one of our necklaces," He admitted.
"Ah, ok never mind that, how does it work?" She queried, very intrigued by the item, and simultaneously doing her best to not imagine her parents having sex.
"You just need some of her hair," The moment Hiropin relayed that information, Yunyun collapsed.
"Did I say something wrong?" He nervously questioned as he leaned over to see if his daughter was ok.
"Where am I supposed to get some of her hair?" Yunyun said with frustration clear in her voice.
"I mean, when I lose my wallet I just summon a lesser demon, they find it for me, and then I can just destroy them for a little extra EXP," Hiropin told her.
"Now I see why you are so sick, you have been summoning demons," Yunyun's tone turned angry as she stared daggers at her father, as she prepared to cast a spell.
"Heh, don't be mad, I just wanted to-AH!" Hiropin was interrupted as Yunyun blasted him with a multitude of anti-curses.
"Don't make me worry about you unnecessarily," Yunyun said before she teleported away.
"I just wanted to spend time with my daughter," Hiropin muttered to himself as he pouted before he teleported into the middle of the village and declared himself cured, in an overdramatic fashion.
2 minutes later inside Vaniwiz
Yunyun walked into the shop, and she was instantly met by Vanir, with the usual mischievous grin adorning his masked face.
"Good day, Loner girl that wants to experience a day in her rival's life, but can't do so since she is unable to attain zed crazy explosion girl's hair," Vanir immediately blurted out, making Yunyun turn beet red as she started to cast a multitude of spells at him, that he countered with ease, to make sure nothing in the shop was damaged, while simultaneously reveling in her shame.
"Now that Moi has enjoyed the delicacy of shame, Moi will help thee obtain a strand of the explosion girl's hair, on the condition that thou starts using this magical item at exactly six in the morning, and that you perform this ritual in the inn, at room number 9," Vanir declared after Yunyun had stopped firing her spell off.
"Really! That is all I have to do?" Yunyun questioned as her eyes flared up with uncontained excitement.
"Moi takes it you agree to the terms?" Vanir asked already knowing the answer.
"Yes," Yunyun instantly answered without any hesitation.
"Wonderful, here is a strand of her hair, for 900k Eris," Vanir said as he pulled out an ampoule with a black strand of hair inside it.
"Here!" Yunyun practically threw the money at Vanir as she grabbed the item, and ran back out the door.
6 in the morning in room 9 at Axel's inn
"Ok, I am really going to do this, there is nothing wrong with this, I am not going to affect their life in any way by doing this, this is completely innocent," Yunyun reasoned, as she shakily put Megumin's hair into the necklace before she put the necklace around her neck. Her body instantly went limp as the necklace connected itself to Megumin.
To Japan everyone
"Hey, are you awake?" Megumin whispers to the sleeping Kazuma, as she put her ear to his bare chest and listened to his slow and steady heartbeat. Before she raised her head and stared at the sleeping face of her husband.
(Oh my, this is actually working, that is Kazuma) Yunyun thought to herself as she also stared at the sleeping Kazuma.
(Hmm, he will probably wake up in the afternoon, well I got a scene to film at nine, so better get ready) Megumin thought to herself as she rolled out of bed.
Megumin walked out of her room in her pink/red silk pajamas that Kazuma had made her, as she smelled something really good coming from the kitchen.
(I can't quite pin down what is smells like, what is he making?) Megumin pondered as she took a few more whiffs of the air.
(Who is he?) Yunyun wondered
"Happy birthday mom," A little boy with jet-black hair and green eyes, said as he popped out of a room, with a messily wrapped gift in his hands.
(OH MY GOD ITS HER SON, AND HE SO CUTE!) Yunyun internally roared as she saw the young boy present the gift to her.
"Oh but thank you Naofumi, is that for me?" Megumin asked, as she crouched down, and pointed at the gift.
"Yes, but you can't open it yet," Naofumi said as he hugged the gift into his tiny chest.
"Hmm, so when do I get to open it?" Megumin asked as she rested her chin in her hands.
"When Satoshi is done with the cake," He informed as he started to walk down the stairs, one step at a time, as he hugged the gift tightly. Megumin took in the scene, as she started to silently giggle to herself before she followed her son into the kitchen.
"Brother, what is the status on operation cake?" Naofumi requested as he walked into the kitchen.
"What, I am making breakfast now, I haven't even started on the cake yet," A young boy in a red apron, with brown hair and green eyes, answered as he put another finished double-cheese sandwich onto a serving platter.
The moment that was relayed to Naofumi, his legs gave out as he stared at his younger brother with empty eyes, like his only reason to live was gone.
"But you told me you would have the cake finished after six, you promised me, brother, how can you betray me like this, we had a deal, did that mean nothing to you?" Naofumi dramatically said as he pointed an accusing finger at his younger brother.
"Yeah, six in the evening, not in the morning," Satoshi answered as he waved his spatula around.
"Oh, never mind then," Naofumi said casually as he rose back up and sat himself down under the Kotatsu table, still holding onto the gift.
(That is definitively my son) Megumin proudly thought to herself as she looked at Naofumi before she walked over to her younger son.
"So, what has the prodigy of a cook prepared for us today," Megumin queried as she stood next to her youngest son, that she now realized was wearing a see-through hair net.
"I call it Cheese-sandwich surprise, a dish that can rival that of even my father," Satoshi proudly stated.
"That is a bold claim, should I go an wake your father so we can put that to the test?" She asked.
"Gladly, bring him down here, and we shall battle over who makes the better Cheese-sandwich, and after he has tasted bitter defeat he will recognize me as his teacher, so we will spend much more time together," He confidently declared, while wildly gesturing with his spatula, making the chair he was standing on to wobble off-balance.
"Got you," Megumin said as she caught her son before he crashed into the floor, but Satoshi had lost the grip on his spatula causing it to land on the floor, right as Megumin stepped onto it, causing it to break in two.
Megumin sat her son down as she lifted her foot off the broken spatula and realized what had just occurred. Now it was Satoshi's turn to stare on with empty eyes as he fell to his knees, and carefully picked up one broken spatula piece in each hand.
"You were supposed to be with me until we surpassed my father, and look at you now, shattered to pieces by no other than my own mother, there were so many things I wanted to cook with you, so many dishes we were going to explore, but your story ends here my friend," Satoshi gravely stated as he held the pieces tightly to his heart.
"Sweetie, I am sure we can get dad to fix it for you," Megumin said in a comforting tone as she hugged him.
"Do you promise?" He pleaded as tears started to roll down his face.
(Oh no, don't cry) Yunyun thought to herself.
"I swear on my life that this is not the last meal this spatula has seen, and I guarantee you that it will be with you for many years to come," Megumin promised in an extravagant way as she took the pieces from his hands.
"Now let us go sit down next to your brother, so we can begin eating breakfast," Megumin said as she picked up the serving platter with the steaming hot cheese-sandwiches, with her left hand, and her son's tiny left-hand in her right, as they strolled over to the Kotatsu table with Naofumi.
"It is ok brother, I am sure dad will be able to fix the spatula for you," Naofumi reassured his younger brother, as he gently patted him on the back.
"Yes, only father has any hope of performing such a miracle," Satoshi agreed with his brother.
"Oh my, I forgot the dishes, and something to drink," Megumin suddenly realized, as she sat down.
"Don't worry mom, I will get it, brother I need you to keep mom's gift safe while I get the dishes," Naofumi said as he handed the gift to his younger brother before he raced to the kitchen.
After some time, Naofumi was able to get the dishes he needed, and a mug filled with water. Impressively enough he was able to carry all of it without any visible strain, but unfortunately, he tripped on a carpet, causing him to lose grip on all the dishes and glasses, as they were sent crashing into the ground. Naofumi was only able to save the mug filled with water for some reason.
"Don't move," Megumin ordered as she quickly got over to Naofumi and picked him up, and placed him outside the danger zone of any broken porcelain or glass before she quickly found a broom and swept up all the potentially hazardous material. She then got another set of dishes, and they could finally start to eat breakfast.
"So, do you guys have any plans for later?" Megumin prodded as she took another bite of the cheese sandwich.
"Yesh, Igh whash ghoihng to gho,"-
"Haven't I told you to not talk, while you are eating Naofumi, chew and then talk," Megumin gently reprimanded.
"Sorry, as I was saying, I am going to have a sleepover at Seiya's house, so after we have eaten cake I will go over to him," Naofumi informed.
"Cool, can I also join?" Satoshi shot in a request.
"I don't see why not, I am sure Seiya would be ok with it," Naofumi confirmed.
"Ok, since it is a Saturday I will allow it, but have your watches on you at all times, understood?" Megumin said in a demanding tone.
"Why would I take off the watch, it's so cool," Naofumi said as he showed off a dark-green digital watch, with Satoshi quickly showing off his matching lime-green watch.
(Just a minor security precaution) Megumin silently thought to herself.
They sat by the table for a little longer as they finished their meals, Yunyun felt how relaxed Megumin was with her sons, it was a wonderful feeling of being able to see her own children both happy and safe. Yunyun wished so deeply that she could just teleport there right now and partake in breakfast with them.
(NO! Even if I could, they wouldn't want me there, it's wrong of me to even wish for something so selfish) Yunyun scolded herself as her thoughts were interrupted by a loud honking noise.
"Oh my, look at the time, it is almost 8:30 already, well boys, mommy has to go to work," Megumin said as she looked out the window to see a crimson red limousine standing by the gate.
"When are you back?" The brothers asked in unison.
"It is the last day of shooting, so earliest at two, and latest would be five," Megumin informed as she went back upstairs and quickly changed into a pink wool top, with a black shirt reaching down to her knees, dark-green leggings, and a red scarf with black stripes.
"I'll leave this here for him," Megumin noted to herself as she picked up the broken parts of Satoshi's spatula next to Kazuma's night table, with a note.
Written on the note:
Hey, I accidentally broke Satoshi's favorite cooking spatula, could you fix it for him, thanks in advance Dear.
Megumin then hurriedly walked outside as she waved goodbye to her sons. The moment she walked out of the gate she was met by a kind-looking young man, in a black suit, as he held the door open for Megumin.
(What is this thing, did Kazuma make this, or are these normal in Japan) Yunyun thought in awe as she pondered on what it could possibly be.
"Thank you, Kai," She said as she stepped into the limousine.
"My pleasure Mrs. Iwatani, and happy birthday," Kai responded as he closed the door for her, and he went to the driver's seat, situated on the right of the car.
(Wait, why is he calling her Iwatani, if she took Kazuma's last name, wouldn't it be Satou)
(Wow, is this a form of the carriage they use in Japan?) Yunyun discussed with herself, as the limo started the drive, while Megumin fastened her seatbelt.
"So, Mrs. Iwatani what are your plans for today?" Kai suddenly asked.
"Get the lasts scene done, and then spend the rest of the day with my family, and you Kai," She inquired.
"I am going to visit my mom in the hospital, I hope it is nothing serious this time, and then we could hopefully go on the yearly mountain trip with my sister and my niece," Kai shared.
"That sounds nice, how is your niece doing?" Megumin questioned.
"She is good from what my sister says, a few problems with algebra, "Why did they put letters into my math?" is the most common complaint," Kai said as he tried to imitate his niece.
POP!
"Oh that didn't sound good, I will pull over and see what happened," Kai said as he lost some control over the vehicle, but managed to pull over at a bus stop.
He then walked out to see that the front tire had popped, he acted quickly as he retrieved the spare from the trunk, but he couldn't find a car jack.
"Mrs. Iwatani, it would seem that I have to call for another car to come and pick you up, I am sorry for the inconvenience," Kai apologized as he whipped out his phone.
"Nonsense, you have a spare tire and a lug wrench?" She challenged.
"Yeah, but the car jack isn't there," Kai said a little frustrated.
"This is how we do this, you change the tire, I hold the car, sound good?" Megumin proposed the idea like it had no holes in it.
"Ma'am with all kinds of respect, you alone can't-" Kai was stunned speechless as Megumin casually lifted the car with one arm.
"Come on, I got a scene to film," Megumin urged, as Kai ran over to the tire and properly changed it, and they were back on the road in no time.
"Kai, you can only talk about what I did here with my family," Megumin requested.
"I don't think anyone would believe me, even if I did, so your secret is safe with me," He immediately responded.
"Glad to hear it," Megumin noted as she picked up her phone.
(What is that?) Yunyun thought curiously to herself, as Megumin scrolled through her messages.
After a few more minutes of driving, they reached a private parking lot with 14 identical limos.
"Time to use the black coat, Ma'am," Kai said, as Megumin put on a completely black coat that covered her completely.
Kai then went outside as 14 other drivers did the same by their limos, and opened the door for a woman in a black coat, they then walked on a line out of the parking lot, and into a hailstorm of cameras and flashes. Before they finally walked into a building where everyone could take off their coats.
"Job well done, I don't think they have the slightest clue of which one I was," Megumin praised as she walked further into the building.
"Ah, there she is, we've been eagerly awaiting you," A man wearing shades, with a blue polo-shirt and purple pants, happily said as he started to walk beside Megumin.
"So what is the plan for today?" Megumin asked.
"We are just doing one thing today, so just walk in that door and everything will be clear," The man said, as he stopped and pointed to a double door with two big security guards in front of it.
"Ok," She simply answered as the guards let her in.
The room was completely dark as she carefully walked into the room, (Ugh, I wish I could see in the dark like Kazuma) Megumin thought to herself, as the lights flashed on and a bunch of people stood next to a giant dark chocolate cake.
"HAPPY 27TH BIRTHDAY!" The crowd cheered as they popped a bunch of confetti.
"Wow, this is amazing, you prepared all of this for me, I am honestly stunned," Megumin said as multiple people brought out gifts they had prepared, but they didn't start to move closer to her.
"Megumin, we just want to thank you for being such a wonderful person to work with, you really brought Meimei to life on the screen, so when we heard it was your birthday we decided to tell you we needed to film some more scenes, but in reality, we prepared this surprise party for you," A lady wearing a cap with "Director" on it, declared as more applause ensued.
Time passed as Megumin took part in the festivities, talking with many other actors and co-workers. Yunyun that was experiencing all the same things as Megumin zoned a little out, since she wasn't prepared for such a large gathering of people. She didn't have to do anything, but it was still overwhelming, especially for a loner like her.
"Ok, it has been fun, but I have to go home," Megumin said, now that most of the people there were drunk, while Megumin wasn't even a little tipsy.
"How are you "hicc" still not drunk?" The director asked, she had clearly had a bit too much.
"I just didn't drink that much," Megumin tried to defend, and any sober person would have been able to remember, that she drank well over what any normal person should have been able to survive, but the only sober person there was Megumin.
"Really, I could have "hicc" swore I saw you "hicc" drinking some of my super-strong cocktails," The director argued.
"You are drunk, you should probably get some rest," Megumin calmly said, as the director collapsed on top of the knocked-out camera crew.
Megumin walked out of the door as she waved goodbye to the security guards and went out into the lobby. She sent a text to Kai that she was done for the day, and he could come to pick her up. That meant all of the women from before, had to adorn their black coats as they followed on line out to the limos. The limos started off at random, as to properly confuse the paparazzi.
"So how did the filming go?" Kai asked politely.
"There wasn't any filming, it was all a ruse so they could celebrate my birthday," Megumin answered, some disappointment showing in her voice.
"Why do you sound so disappointed Mrs. Iwatani?"
"I like playing my character, that is why I was a little disappointed that they wanted to have a drinking party instead," She retorted.
"Hee-hee, on the bright side you get to go home to your family a little earlier, and so do I, I would say it was a win-win situation in that case," Kai chuckled as they started to drive off in some wild directions, to throw the paparazzi off them.
"Yeah, you are probably right," Megumin said as she looked out of the window.
20 minutes later they were back home, as Megumin stepped out of the limo, waved goodbye, and went inside. She was met by the sight of Kazuma, Naofumi, and Satoshi, doing some "Martial arts." In reality, it was just Kazuma constantly tricking the boys until his tricks were seen-through.
"Come on now, just one tap on the shoulder and you win," Kazuma teased as Naofumi gave a signal to his brother before they pulled the carpet their father was standing on away, but instead of Kazuma landing on his ass, he kicked the carpet onto them and then wrapped them into it.
"YOU CHEATED!" Naofumi complained as Kazuma picked them both up, and when he spotted Megumin he walked over to her and loaded them off in her arms.
"I didn't cheat, you guys are just easy to read," Kazuma countered as he ruffled both of their heads. Satoshi didn't complain since Kazuma had fixed his spatula earlier, while Naofumi struggled to free himself from the carpet.
"I think you can just put them onto the sofa," Kazuma shot in, Megumin nodding in response.
"One, two, and THREE!" Megumin exclaimed as she tossed the bundle onto the overly soft sofa in the living room, their combined weight causing them to sink 35cm deep into it.
"How long do you think it will take for them to escape?" Kazuma whispered into Megumin's left ear, as he hugged her from behind.
"They will get out before you remember what day it is," She retorted as she grabbed ahold of his head with her left arm and pressed his right ear close to her mouth.
"That's not true… Happy birthday," He said right before he picked her up in a princess carry, and sat down next to their two struggling sons.
"For as much as I want to believe you remembered, I am pretty sure one of these two told you," She accused, as she leaned her head onto his chest.
"They didn't tell me anything," Kazuma claimed, and she couldn't sense any lies from him.
"Dad found the gift we made for you, OUCH! No, I said you needed to move your leg to the left," Naofumi shot in.
"I did move it to the left," Satoshi argued.
"Not your left, my left," Naofumi complained.
"Hmm, so you didn't remember on your own after all!" Megumin accused, sounding a little disappointed.
"No, I remembered, I even put a reminder on my phone," Kazuma defended.
"That's kind of cheating, but I guess it's fine," She weakly complained as she leaned more into Kazuma.
"Ok, bite down on the corner that is poking out to your left, and then I will bite down here and we pull at three," Naofumi instructed, as he bit down on a part of the carpet.
"Undershtood," Satoshi mumbled with a mouthful of carpet.
"Ohne, thwoo, THREE!" Naofumi ordered muffled with a mouthful of carpet, as the brothers managed to wriggle themselves free from the carpet's grip, they then proceeded to roll off the sofa.
"Now brother, we must retreat and form a new plan," Naofumi said in a commanding tone before he ran up the stairs with his little brother on his tail.
"Hee-hee,"
"What are you chuckling about?"
"Well, they still haven't figured out that I bugged their playroom, want to listen in on them?" Kazuma retorted as he pulled out a small speaker from his pocket.
"Oh my, how very mischievous of you, but isn't that a little unfair?"
"Not really, it's hidden, but they should be able to find it without having to destroy anything,"
"Fine, you can listen in on them, but to make it fair, I will do my best to distract you," she whispered the word into his left ear, as her lips brushed against it, while she grabbed ahold of his pant line with her right hand, lightly tugging at it.
"Isn't the unpacking supposed to be for later?" Kazuma asked with a grin adorning his face.
"Sure, but Excalibur is something that you must wield to slay this demon of lust, that has taken control over your beautiful wife," She retorted as she gave his pants another tug, this time with more force.
(He is so close, just kiss him) Yunyun thought as she looked at Kazuma through Megumin's eyes.
"That will have to wait for later, I am still playing war with the boys," Kazuma reluctantly retorted as he powered up the speaker.
"Who are you and what have you done to my pervert of a husband!?" Megumin asked in a playful manner as she started pulling on his cheeks.
"Ow, ow, ow, stop it!" Kazuma said before he retaliated by tickling her stomach.
"Hahaha, t-that's, cheat-hehehe-ing," Megumin lost all control over her body as she sprawled out on the sofa while rolling around and trying to stop Kazuma's hands from tickling her.
"SAVE MOM!" Naofumi suddenly yelled from behind the sofa as he jumped over the back of the sofa and crashed into Kazuma, causing them both to tumble out of the sofa and land on the ground, while Satoshi chose to walk around the sofa and then join in the fight.
"Oh my, I am saved, such brave sons I have," Megumin praised as she stared at her sons "overpowering" Kazuma.
"Any last words?" Naofumi tried to threaten while holding a cardboard sword to his father's throat, but all the 10-year old managed to do was look very cute.
"H-how did you manage to sneak up on me, it should have been impossible?" Kazuma dramatically questioned.
"Commander Satoshi wanted us to change our meeting local to one of the safest places imaginable after he suspected that our HQ might have been compromised," Naofumi explained.
"And, where would this safe place be located?" Kazuma prodded.
"It's the-"
"Silence commander, even if we eliminate this one, he might have surveillance equipment on him that will lead his fellow compatriots to know of our new base's location," Naofumi quickly interrupted.
"Darn, who taught you to be so cautious?" Kazuma questioned.
"My father taught me," Naofumi answered as he sliced the cardboard blade over Kazuma's throat.
"VICTORY!" They both exclaimed in unison as they waved their cardboard swords around while walking around the fallen Kazuma in triumph.
After 2 minutes of the boys celebrating their hard-fought victory, they returned upstairs.
"They are gone now, I cast {Resurrection} so get up," Megumin said as she playfully poked his cheek with her foot.
"Ugh, I require a kiss for the resurrection to work properly," Kazuma weakly whispered.
"Hmm," Megumin thought as Chomusuke jumped into her lap, "Ok," She said as she picked up the cat in one hand and sat on top of Kazuma.
"Here comes the kiss," Megumin said as she held Chomusuke up to Kazuma's lips, the cat quickly licked his lips, causing him to blow violent raspberries.
"Pfft, ugh, cat breath," He complained as he sat up, with a grinning Megumin on his lap. Holding Chomusuke in her hands.
Kazuma patted Chomusuke on the head, which she answered with a happy purring. Then when Megumin had put her guard down, Kazuma shot his free hand out and gripped her head, bringing her lips to his own. She would have gladly leaned into the kiss if it hadn't been for the fact that his lips stunk of Chomusuke.
"Revenge!" Kazuma happily declared after Megumin had recoiled from him.
Chomusuke had escaped her grasp and was now sitting on Kazuma's lap while he petted her like a Bond villain. A Bond villain would probably not sit on the floor though.
"Hey, what's the time now anyway?" Megumin asked.
"Let me check, it's-"
"BAKING TIME!" Naofumi roared from the top of the stairs, with Satoshi having his spatula at the ready, as they ran down the stairs and into the kitchen.
"Ah, so it is four," Megumin deduced.
"Guess so," Kazuma retorted as he put Chomusuke on the sofa, and walked into the kitchen after them.
"Wait, are you actually going to help with the cake?" Satoshi asked Naofumi.
"Sure I am, someone has to help you clean all the equipment," Naofumi confirmed
"You licking all the used equipment, doesn't count as cleaning though," His brother countered.
"Excuse me, it is very important, how would you otherwise tell that you are on the right track with the cake?" Naofumi argued.
"By tasting it… myself," Satoshi answered like it was obvious.
"But it is always good to have a second opinion," Naofumi countered.
"That's why I am baking it with dad," He said pointing to Kazuma with his spatula.
"It's no problem if he wants to help out, but he is going to have to help out more than he usually does, if he actually wants to give his opinion about the mixture," Kazuma shot-in as he put on an apron, the moment Naofumi understood he would have to actually help out he was like gone in the wind.
"I have yet to see you in only an apron, don't you think it is time for you to do it once for me as well, oh great defender of gender equality," Megumin teased while poking him in the side.
"Cooking in only an apron?" Satoshi questioned, as he started to think about it.
"Oh don't worry about it son, mommy is just teasing me a little,"
"Hmm, why would you want to see mom in only an apron though?" Satoshi queried.
"You will understand when you are older," Kazuma excused himself, as he brought up a cooking book.
"Ok," Satoshi simply retorted as he also put on his apron.
1 cake later
"Ok, we are finally done, now we just need to let the cake rest a little," Kazuma said as he stepped back to admire the work of him and his youngest son.
"Couldn't we sprinkle some of the extra dark chocolate at the edges of the volcano top, just to make sure we don't make it too sweet at the top, with the red sweet cream?" Satoshi argued.
"Yeah, it could be a good idea, but if we do that now, most of the chocolate will melt and run down to the base of the volcano, so we should still wait for a little bit more," Kazuma countered.
"Ok dad, I'll go and get big bro and mom then," He said, quickly tossing the apron away.
While alone in the kitchen Kazuma went into the cupboards and retrieved two candles, 1 green candle shaped like a 2, and a red shaped like a 7. Kazuma stuck them into the blue jelly sea. He stood there admiring it for a minute, taking in all the details.
They had created a volcano island out of brownie, that looked like it was about to erupt with red sweet cream, where it would then drain into the sea made out of blueberry jelly. It wasn't that big, only 10 cm tall, 15 cm wide, and 20 cm long, but it should be able to sate Megumin's sweet tooth.
"Oh my, what a beautiful cake you two managed to make," Megumin complimented as Satoshi lead her into the kitchen.
"Where is Naofumi?"
"He was in the middle of a game dad, but I am sure he will be done soon," Satoshi informed
"Ok, I guess we will have to-"
"I am here," A very disappointed Naofumi grumbled as he walked into the kitchen with heavy footsteps.
"I told you that you would lose," Satoshi remarked in a mocking tone.
"Ok, listen here you little SHIT!"
"NAOFUMI!" Both Kazuma and Megumin instantly reprimanded him in a stern tone, causing him to freeze up.
"Oh, you are so fucked now," Satoshi smugly whispered to Naofumi, making it impossible for Kazuma and Megumin to hear what he said. However, Naofumi knitted a fist the moment he heard the snarky remark from his younger sibling.
"What are the rules in this house about swearing, Naofumi?!" Megumin asked rhetorically as she stepped closer to the boys.
"It's all about audience and context," Naofumi grumbled as he looked down on his twiddling thumbs, as he didn't dare to meet the gaze of his own mother.
"Good, so where did you fail on those parts?" She questioned a little calmer this time.
"I forgot that you were a part of the audience, and if I hadn't said it with you around I would have been fine," He answered honestly.
"That is true, but why did you say that to your little brother?"
"Because he was being an asshole, so I gave him a piece of his own medicine!" Naofumi yelled as he pointed at his younger brother, now playing innocent.
"Also true, but what you said didn't call him out on it, you were acting in a threatening manner, as you compared your younger brother to "a little shit," which only leads to you both becoming bigger assholes to each other," Megumin summarized.
"Now, what would have been the best reaction to your brother's mockery?" Kazuma asked in a more hopeful tone.
"Don't be such an asshole," Naofumi answered.
"That is better than what you originally said, but it would be better to just ignore it, since assholes like it when you give them attention," Kazuma lectured, as he sent Satoshi a knowing stare, making him flinch as well, making both brothers look at each other.
"Sorry for being an asshole," They both said in unison, as they bowed in apology to each other.
"Much better, now let's eat some cake," Kazuma happily declared, as he produced a knife from his sleeve. Making the boys cheer, mostly from relief that none of them had received any form of punishment.
"Wait, have you guys eaten dinner already?" Megumin suddenly asked as she checked the nervous reactions of her sons.
After they had eaten their fair share of the cake, Naofumi and Satoshi were discretely transported to Seiya's home. Leaving Kazuma and Megumin completely home alone.
"So, could the great actress of the Iwatani household make a request?" Megumin asked in a sweet tone as she put her hands on Kazuma's shoulders and let them wander down to his hips.
"You can make a request my dear, but I choose if I will fulfill that request," Kazuma retorted as he laid one hand on each of her butt cheeks while locking gazes with her.
"Will you carry me to our bed, so that we can-" Megumin stopped talking as she leaned up to his ear, and whispered with a yearning need present in her voice, "make some explosions together,"
Kazuma didn't say a word in response to her request, but he let go of her butt and pulled her up in a princess carry. Forcing Megumin to lock her arms around her husband's neck, as he carried them upstairs. Kazuma burst into the door of their bedroom, by masterly using his left foot to open the door. He was about to toss his wife onto their bed, but he luckily stopped himself when he saw all the video games and handheld consoles lying strewn all over the bed.
"I found our boys' new "secret" headquarters," Kazuma declared glumly.
"I can see that, put me down and I will help you clean it," Megumin copied his tone as she let go of his neck, and walked over to her side of the bed.
"On three,"
"Like the moment you say three we life or one, two, three go?" Megumin inquired, as she grasped two corners of the blanket.
"The latter, one, two, three, go!" Kazuma said as they managed to pull off the blanket with all the gadgets and games coming with it. They then placed the blanket into the playroom and left it there.
"Hmm, Kazuma my legs seem to have lost their strength, I might fall over any second," Megumin said in an overdramatic fashion, as her voice got weaker.
"Huff," Kazuma grunted as he picked her up into another princess carry.
(Please hold me closer) Yunyun thought as she reveled in the embrace.
"It would seem that one of the boys, took my box of condoms with him," Kazuma said dejectedly.
"It's ok, since it's my safe day," Megumin quickly responded, without any form of delay.
"I remember last time you said that then 9 months later we had another son," Kazuma said as he gave her a knowing look.
(It doesn't matter, please come and embrace me!) Yunyun screamed out.
"I wouldn't mind having another kid with you," Megumin mumbled to herself while twiddling her thumbs. Kazuma didn't catch it, since he had turned to the door.
"I'll go and buy some more condoms, be back in a bit," He said before his footsteps could be heard going down the stairs, followed by a door opening and closing. She felt a little disappointed, but she could wait a bit.
(Don't go!) Yunyun continued to scream.
Suddenly a bright silver flash filled the entire room. After the light had subsided a beautiful woman with long silver hair, wearing a blue-purple nun's habit stood in front of Megumin. A normal person would be put at ease seeing her or being in her presence, but not Megumin. The moment she realized who the person she was looking at was, her calm and happy demeanor flipped to the opposite.
"What are you doing in my home?!" Megumin demanded to know as she got out of her bed, now completely furious, which made her crimson eyes shine red.
"Good evening, Mrs. Iwatani, I am here under the agreement of protection, that I and Lady Aqua are supposed to provide," Eris said in a monotone and indifferent voice. This message got Megumin to calm down, but she still looked at Eris with angry eyes,
"Is there any danger present to my family?" She asked without hesitating.
"It's unclear at the time, all I can say for certain, is that someone is using magic to spy on you, but I didn't notice it before since it didn't give off any malevolent signs before now," Eris relayed.
"Do you know how they are spying on us?" Megumin inquired, as she started to check for invisible cameras.
"No, not yet, but it's in this house somewhere, so I will have to activate a reveal ritual," Eris said, as her hands started to glow.
"Well, just get it done before Kazuma comes back," Megumin grunted as she walked out of the bedroom, and downstairs to the kitchen. With Eris slowly following behind her.
It was silent for a good moment before Eris' hands stopped glowing, and she spoke.
"I would like to give Kazuma something, so if I could stay for just a little bit after removing the spy curse, I would appreciate it," Eris said, her tone now more timid as she fumbled with something in her hands.
"Show it to me, and I'll consider it," Megumin ordered as she stepped closer to Eris, as she tried to get a better look at the item.
"Ok," Eris responded curtly, as she opened her hands to reveal a heart-shaped locket. Megumin instantly froze as she saw it.
"Why would you need to give him something that looks like that?" Megumin asked coldly as she looked back at Eris' face.
"I didn't have anything else to create a charm for him," She excused, as she looked back down at the locket.
"A CHARM, are you trying to steal him away from me with magic!" Megumin erupted as her anger came back.
"It's merely a protective charm, nothing else, so calm down," Eris quickly explained.
"Very well, then let me just give it to him," Megumin said as she grabbed ahold of the locket.
"NO, WAIT!" Eris tried to stop her, but it was too late, and the moment Megumin's hand had touched the locket, it created a shockwave that sent her flying backward into the kitchen table.
The shockwave didn't harm Megumin given her high level, but it did wreck the kitchen table she landed on. While not harmed, Megumin still took a second to process what had just happened to her.
"Are you ok?" Eris asked with genuine concern present in her voice, as she reached out a helping hand to Megumin still laying in the rubble.
"Why did that happen? Why did that charm just ruin my kitchen table?" Megumin asked in a daze, as she looked at the other hand still holding the locket.
"Eh, it's because, it's because we don't share the same feelings for each other, so the locket rejected you," Eris explained.
"So why do you want to give that to Kazuma? Do you want to find out if he loves you, that your fling 10 years ago wasn't just a fling, but something more? SO you come into my house with probably false pretenses about someone spying on-"
"You're wrong! Someone really is using magic to spy on you, my reason to be here is justified, and I don't feel any romantic feelings towards Kazuma, we are just friends, nothing more and nothing less, so I am sure the locket won't reject being transferred to him," Eris cut off Megumin, as she clutched onto locket.
"Oh yeah, just friends, that have a daughter together, don't blame me for not believing a word of what you just said," Megumin scoffed, as she rose from the broken pieces of the kitchen table.
"But it's true, it has to be," Eris muttered the last part, but it still felt loud to Megumin.
"Ok then, you can give it to him, if you with utmost certainty can tell me right now, that you and my husband are just friends, and the thought of it staying like that sounds completely fine to you," Megumin put down her ultimatum as her glowing crimson eyes clashed with Eris' purple eyes.
The room was completely silent, other than the two unsynchronized heartbeats. One beating hard and fast, while the other beat calmly and at a steady pace.
The silence was broken by Megumin suddenly glowing, and without a second of hesitation, Eris grabbed ahold of her, stared into her eyes.
"So you were spying on them using Megumin, well time to break that link, but before I do you must forget anything and everything you saw here, and forget how you managed to create this link {Heaven's Secret}!" Eris chanted as a burning light erupted from her eyes.
(NO! I don't want to forget, I want to remember everything!) Yunyun yelled in desperation, but it was all in vain. She forgot more and more until the link was finally broken.
Yunyun awoke in a bed with a giant headache, as she could feel something warm and heavy laying on top of her naked body. Her mind suddenly cleared as she could smell the foul odor of booze breath hit her nose. When she opened her eyes she saw a passed-out Dust laying on top of her.
"AH!" Yunyun shrieked, as she realized what had happened before she tossed Dust off her.
"What's the problem!?" A young man questioned as he knocked down the door, only to quickly cover his eyes when he saw the very naked Yunyun in front of him.
"P-please put on some clothes!" He managed to stutter out as he turned away from her.
After things had calmed down, everyone had gotten dressed, and Lynn had managed to wake up Dust from his drunken slumber, both Yunyun and Dust started to tell each their side of the story. Unfortunately, Yunyun couldn't remember why she was in the inn room, or why Dust was there, however, Dust managed to tell more. Dust had plans to meet Lynn in room 6, he had gotten nervous and gotten himself drunk. Then the room sign for 9 had lost a bolt, so it hung in a way that it looked like a 6.
Then when he opened the door, he had gotten what he assumed was the go-ahead to have sex, with what he thought was Lynn, and that is how they both ended up naked. That explanation was good enough for Yunyun, but Dust was looked on as a rapist after that incident, with most women thinking he took advantage of poor Yunyun. It didn't exactly make it any better when people heard that Yunyun was pregnant with his child.
Yunyun gave birth to a daughter, that she named Meimei. Though the father to the child wasn't very reliable, she loved her very much. Yunyun was able to manage as a single mother for the most part, while also being the chieftess of the Crimson Demon village. The most surprising thing Meimei ever did was to tame a runaway dragon by simply talking to it. Meimei even wanted to adopt the dragon, but Yunyun put her foot down and say no, something she had gotten much better at after a few years of being a mom.
Finally! Finally, my entire prologue is done. It took me so god damn long. I am very happy I managed it though. So I dropped writing about Darkness' and Kazuma's night together, sorry about that. I just didn't feel comfortable doing it, and I just couldn't get it how I wanted it. Instead, I went for something more slice-of-life. I am honestly very happy about how it turned out.
On another note entirely. If you are waiting for an update to "The Iwatani Family," or "Blessed with an unwilling mentor," I ran into a serious case of writer's block. I am trying to update them, but they will probably take much more time, as much as it saddens me to say that. I know where I want to go with the stories, it's just how to get there that is the current problem.
