N.R.N.S Centaur
13:00pm
A Centaur Class Light Aircraft Carrier and two destroyers, frigates and supply ship sailed off the between the Usean coast.
Alexa, Chris and Sam sat down in the mess, "Wow, they're operating this carrier on a skeleton crew." Alexa quietly mused as she enjoyed some lunch, she had been feeling very hungry and under the weather but wasn't sure why.
"Yeah and why are getting involved in this whole war again?" Sam asked her as he couldn't see the point really.
"Yeah you have a point as Erusea is unlikely to try and invade Nordennavic." Alexa commented back.
Alexa looked at the time, "Well let's get to the briefing." the three got up and departed the mess hall.
Centaur Briefing Room
13:15pm
Grendel squadron reached the briefing room seeing General Rasmussen. "Afternoon Grendel, Today's mission is Operation Northern Eye."
The trio sat down as a pre-record briefing started, "The Allied Forces are retreating and survivors are gathering at the northern port of Saint Ark. However, the radar facilities atop Mt Shezna provide tactical support to the enemy. As a result, our evac mission is in jeopardy. If our troops can successfully evacuate and regroup at North Point, they will become a formidable force in future battles. Your mission is to destroy the radar facilities on thereby blinding the enemy and hiding our troop movements."
After the pre-recorded brief ended, Rasmussen took to the podium, "As you can't use after you make it to the water, if you can land on the carrier do so but if you've not then eject and let your planes crash into the water so they'll be destroyed, that is all."
Centaur Hangar deck
13:35pm
They walked onto the hangar deck, "So I wonder what ISAF plane we'll be using?" Alexa inquired as they had no idea which they'd be using as Fighting Falcons were out.
"Hmm maybe Phantoms." Chris remarked as they passed a Viking Tanker.
"Could be." Sam replied as they continued walking through the hangar deck.
Alexa stopped seeing a light blue top and white bottom Dh-110 Sea Vixen FAW.2, "A Sea Vixen?"
The carrier crew attached two white external tanks as other crews fixed Red Top Mark.2 missiles and AGM-12B Bullpups.
Alexa looked at her jet to see the fuel tanks and red top but also another red top missile with an ogival nose cone. "Yes old Sea Vixens and a Blue Dolphin."
All three jets were in ISAF markings. Each of Grendel Squadron and their temporary radar intercept officers climbed into their planes and Alexa watched as her wingmen were pushed onto the elevators.
The lift raised her Sea Vixen up as Alexa fired up the Spey engines as she saw the flight deck had a few WS-61 Sea King Mark.43Bs for rescuing them if they had to bail out but as she taxied she saw some Nordennavic Royal Navy WG-13 Super Lynx Mark.90B Anti-Submarine Warfare Helicopters and a group of KS-3B Viking tankers that was ahead of her to take off.
She watched Grendel 2 and 3 take off after they got airborne they were Frost Squadron. After the Viking Tanker took off, Alexa lined up on the catapult, she waited for the signal and once she got it. Alexa advanced the throttles and the two RB.163 Spey Turbofans roared.
They formed up heading south west.
Mt Shezna
16:20pm
A flight of ten blue top with white bottom F-4E Phantom 2 and four three-tone blue camouflaged F-5E Tiger 2s arrived in the airspace, the three Sea Vixen approached from the Northwest.
"This combat area is within enemy airspace. Keep an eye out for bandits. Use vector one-eight-zero to return home after destroying the target. Remember a safe return completes the mission, cleared to engage." SkyEye said as Alexa and her wingman pulled up armed their weapons.
"Möbius 1 this is Frost 1 we're coming in from the north west." Alexa said as she broke formation.
"Roger Frost 1." Möbius 1 responded as Alexa's Rio watched the radar.
"This is Shezna Radar 1. bandits vector 135. The controller announced as a trio of three-tone brown camouflaged Tiger 2s along with Two three-tone green camouflaged Phantom 2s, all were armed with Sparrow missiles.
Möbius 1 locked up the lead tiger two whose flight lead spilt their formation and fired her first sparrow that missed, Alexa having spilt off from her formation reached Möbius 1 who was tailing the tiger two as Alexa got a good tone from her Blue Dolphin, and fired.
The first blue dolphin left the Sea Vixen and streaked towards the Tiger blowing its left wing off, "I'm breaking up." the Erusean pilot called as his jet came apart."
"Disengage if you can't handle it." the lead Phantom said as Alexa turned onto him but couldn't keep the phantom in her lock as it was powering away from her.
Möbius 1 powered after the first phantom two easily gaining lock and fired her second sparrow which went up its tailpipe and blew the back end off, "I'm hit eject, eject!" the Erusean phantom bailed out but Alexa knew rescue here was unlikely.
"Radar base 1 at vector 300, 4 miles." Skyeye announced as Frost 2 and 3 along with Möbius 3 and 4 closed in on the first radar station.
Chris fired his rockets in a path taking out the Hawk SAM battery and Anti-Aircraft guns as Möbius 2 dropped two of his unguided munitions. "Don't worry, just remember all that you learned during training."
The second phantom opened fire with its cannon damaging the Sea Vixen but Möbius 5 fired a Sparrow and sent the Phantom down, "Frost 2 are you alright?"
"Fine Möbius 5, the Sea Vixen can take it." Chris responded as the two Tiger twos had seemingly disappeared.
They closed in on the second and third radar facilities with Möbius 3 releasing his two Bullpups in a spread which destroyed both radar stations.
As Möbius 3 was pulling out of his run, Sam spotted the Tiger two closing and tried to position for a Red Top Mk.2 missile shot and got a good lock but just as he fired the Tiger two entered a cloud bank and the Red Top flew harmlessly by.
"Fuck!" Sam said as he saw the Tiger two re-emerge so locked up with his second Red Top Mk.2 and fired which followed the Tiger two going up the back end of his tailpipe and obliterated the airframe.
Alexa levelled off at 15 thousand as she looked for targets, "Alexa I have contacts closing fast."
"Sky Eye?" Alexa inquired.
"Four F-16C Fighting Falcon." SkyEye responded.
"Radar. Do you read me? Shezna Radar 1's gone silent!" the lead Erusean pilot said.
Sam, Möbius 4 and 5 approached the fourth radar facility, "Frost 2, Möbius 4 and 5, passing Krasinsky Crater." Sam selected his bullpups and fired sending all his bullpup streaking towards the facility destroying the radar..
Sam pulled out of his run as an AMRAAM exploded near the Sea Vixen damaging the wing and tail, "Frost 3 I'm hit going down." Sam announced as his jet plunged into a cloud bank and disappeared from radar.
Beneath the clouds, Sam brought the jet under control and began his egress switching off his transponder, "Frost 3 lost." Mobius 7 fired a sparrow sending White 4 down.
"I'm breaking up!" White 4 cried as his jet crashed into the mountainside near the fifth radar facility as the ISAF Tiger twos commenced a bomb but White 2 broke off as a Red Top Mk.2 streaked by, White 2 looked over as second Red Top Mk.2 which fatally damaged the Fighting Falcon but White 2 fired a missile which struck the right side of the Chris's plane damaging the coal hole and right side boom.
"I'm hit Frost 2 going down." Chris announced as his jet dropped into clouds. He disappeared from radar and levelled off as his transponder went out, Chris began turning to egress.
Mobius 8 dropped his BLU-32 Naplams on the sixth radar facility which rained down and set the building alight igniting the fuel tanks which quickly exploded engulfing the building in the fireball.
Alexa turned onto White 3's tail and fired her second Blue Dolphin but the more agile Fighting Falcon tried broke the lock, Alexa pulled hard trying to "Ahh missile shot trashed." the Blue Dolphin's warhead detonated with shrapnel causing the far part of the right wing to separate which struck the right wing punching into the right wing, "Fox 2." Alexa fired both her Red Top before her jet rolled over into a dive and disappeared from view and radar.
"Frost 1 is off radar." Sky-eye announced as White 3 rolled inverted and crashed into the seventh radar facility exploding which destroyed the building.
The rest of Möbius dropped all their unguided munitions eighth radar facility Möbius 1 shot down White 1.
"The Radar has been destroyed." one army officer yelled over the radio he watched the radar facility burn.
"Fighter Squadron here, mission accomplished" a Tiger two pilot said as his group turned south.
"SkyEye here. Radar facilities confirmed destroyed. All aircraft take vector 180 south. Use the return line on the map to exit combat area and return to base. Fly in the right direction, and you'll see a white dotted line across your flight path. Those of you who need to resupply or refuel during missions should cross this line to exit the combat area and return to base or carrier." SkyEye explained in a lecturer's tone.
The flight of ISAF fighters crossed the return line and after landing, Olympia waited as the E-767 landed and parked up, as SkyEye disembarked, "So Frost Squadron didn't make it?"
"No they didn't." SkyEye responded as the Base Co stopped.
"Frost Squadron? There's no Squadron with that name in ISAF." the Base Co remarked.
"What!?" Olympia and SkyEye said together.
"Yeah they were imposters but I intend to find out who they were." the Base Co said before he left intent to find out who the imposters were.
Hours later
Out over the ocean
Alexa's jet limped out over the ocean as she looked for the carrier unaware of where her teammates were, She'd changed frequency hours ago after leaving the combat zone but was still leaking fuel. "Centaur you there?"
"Roger Grendel 1 we see you, Grendel 2 and 3 had to bail out but the helio is picking them up now, can you land?"
"I think so." Alexa said as she turned onto the approach, she added power as she tried to keep on the glide path, she felt the plane rolling so yanked the stick to the right but as her jet landed it missed the first 2 wires however caught the last and hit the crash barricade, deck crew sprayed the Sea Vixen down as the white and orange Sea King landed with Grendel 2, 3 and their RIOs stepping off the helicopter.
The carrier group turned towards the Atlantic, Alexa opened the canopy as her Rio was extracted form the coal hole, "Never again!" he said as he tried to stretch but Alexa felt dizzy again, a crash crewman noticing lifted her from the aircraft as she threw up on the deck, Alexa was loaded on a stretcher and taken to the medical bay along with her colleagues.
After a quick check by the doc, they made their way to the briefing room where Rasmussen was waiting, They sat down as the briefing display started up, "With their radar out of commission, the enemy's command and control is degraded. The evac and regrouping efforts are proceeding as scheduled."
"Good work Grendel Squadron although we still have a Sea Vixen, so what to do with it?" Chris questioned.
"Well technically is anyone gonna recognise the plane if they see it given the false registrations?" Alexa questioned back.
"Hmm are you wanting to buy the plane Grendel 1?" Rasmussen asked her.
"I might be as we're gonna be needed to train new pilots so I assume we're not gonna be Grendel any more." Sam mused.
"That's right we need your all as flight instructors dismissed." Rasmussen announced and the three Grendel pilots filled out heading for the mess to celebrate.
At Alexa's bungalow a year later
Alexa, Sam and Chris were in the lounge of her house, she was laying on the sofa, she had also bought the Sea Vixen having it stored in a small hangar outside her house. She looked at Chris who was cooking while Sam was coming back after working on the Sea Vixen and had cleaned up.
Alexa looked at her wedding rings given to her by both her wingmen after she married them. She started at the Star of Valor they'd received from the king of Nordennavic for their service.
"So my two hot husbands after we're done with dinner how about one of our three-ways and you boys get to fill me up tonight and I want you boys to knock me up too as I'm ovulating." Alexa said cheerfully.
The two men looked at their wife smiling to themselves.
Alexa leaned back and relaxed as she watched TV as the world moved on as it always does.

So finally got this done so I hope you all enjoyed this as this is where the Grendel Squadron we've seen from chapter 1 will step out and if I do the next two ideas I have then we'll see a new Grendel Squadron.
