Chapter 4

The Pranking Duo

Kittycorn and Shy have been hanging out with each other for several months. They both got to learn a lot about each other, and they enjoyed every second they were together. However, spending time with Kittycorn caused Shy to come home late. This made Master Death suspicious of her.

Whenever Master Death asked Shy what she had been doing this whole time, Shy would usually come up with a lie, whether it was a lie of her tipping over trash cans all over the kingdom or taking candy from babies.

One day, as Kittycorn and Shy spent time with each other, Shy took this time to appreciate how wonderful the Unikingdom is. She could see why living in the Unikingdom would make Kittycorn so happy.

"So, how are you enjoying the Unikingdom so far, Shy?" Kittycorn asked her friend.

"It is wonderful! The Unikingom is so much better than Frown Town!" Shy exclaimed. "There are no conflicts or wars."

"Not unless you count the prank war my parents had a long time ago." Kittycorn explained.

Shy soon stopped in her tracks. "Prank war?"

Kittycorn nodded. "Yes. Before I was even born, my parents and their friends had a prank war with Master Frown and Brock."

Despite Kittycorn explaining everything, Shy still looked at her, confused. "What's a prank?"

That question caused Kittycorn to stare at her friend in surprise.

"You don't know what a prank is?" Kittycorn asked, to which Shy shook her head. This gave Kittycorn an idea. "Well, I would tell you, but it would be easier if I show you. The prank is behind you."

It was at that moment, when Shy turned around, confused by what Kittycorn meant.

"Really? I don't see anything?"

As Shy was distracted, Kittycorn sneaked up behind her friend and lifted up her doom lord cloak, exposing Shy's white panties, decorated all over with red hearts. Once she realized that she had been tricked, Shy turned back to her friend.

"Kittycorn!" Shy blushed as she immediately pushed her cloak back down before sending an annoyed look to her friend.

It was at that moment when Kittycorn was laughing so much, she fell on the ground, holding her sides.

"Sorry, Shy! At least you now know what a prank is!" Kittycorn wiped a tear from her eye.

Soon, Shy's annoyed expression turned into an amused smile as she began to laugh too.

"Alright! I think I get it now. A prank is a playful trick you pull on others, right?"

Kittycorn nodded. "You got it!"

"I see! Well, I think I know the perfect person we can prank, but I'm going to need your help for it!" Shy explained.

"I'm listening!" Kittycorn smiled, curious with what Shy had in mind.

A couple of hours later, Kittycorn and Shy were waiting in Richard's room as they were hiding under a desk. It was hard for Kittycorn and Shy to contain their laughter since they couldn't wait to prank Richard.

"This is going to be so hilarious, Shy!" Kittycorn whispered.

"You said it, Kittycorn. I can't wait to see the look on Richard's face once we prank him." Shy replied.

It was at that moment when Kittycorn heard something as she realized that Richard was about to enter his room. "Shh. I think Richard is coming."

The moment Kittycorn said that, Richard entered his room before he sat behind his desk, getting ready to work on some paperwork. He took out a quill pen and dipped it in ink to sign his name. As he wrote his name, Kittycorn and Shy did their best to contain their laughter.

Once he wrote his name, Richard took his eyes off his signature for a second to grab the next sheet of paper. That was when, the signature disappeared, revealing that Kittycorn and Shy replaced the ink with invisible ink. Richard looked back to the piece of paper and stared at it in confusion.

"Huh? What happened to my signature?" Richard asked, confused with what happened.

It was at this point when Kittycorn and Shy could barely contain their laughter. Richard looked under his desk to see Kittycorn and Shy laughing from their prank.

"Wait. You two did this, didn't you?" Richard realized.

Shy finally stopped laughing when she replied, "Sorry, Richard. Kittycorn was just teaching me how to pull pranks on others."

"Yeah! And it was all in good fun! You should have seen the look on your face. You were so confused." Kittycorn continued to laugh.

Soon, Richard gave a chuckle. "Yes. It seems that you got me. Just make sure you never try to prank Queen Unikitty. A long time ago, Unikitty pulled a prank on me and the others, which ended us up in the losers' cage at the zoo."

"Wait, really?" Shy asked, surprised.

Kittycorn nodded. "Yeah. From what my mom told me, that was how the prank war ended."

"Uh, okay. Strange way to end the war." Shy replied, feeling slightly disturbed by what she heard.

"Anyway, I'd better get back to work, so you two run along now." Richard got back to work.

Once Richard replaced the invisible ink with regular ink, Kittycorn and Shy left Richard's room.

"Well, that was pretty fun." Kittycorn commented.

"It sure was! What do you want to do next?" Shy asked.

Suddenly, Kittycorn and Shy were stopped in their tracks as they took notice of Hawkodile and Dr. Fox in front of them. Kittycorn soon gave a smile as she rushed over to greet them.

"Hi, Hawkodile and Dr. Fox. How are you doing?" Kittycorn asked.

"Hello, Princess Kittycorn. Dr. Fox and I are going to have our baby in a couple of weeks, and we were wondering if you and Shy could come over to our baby shower tomorrow. Everyone is going to be there." Hawkodile explained.

"You want me to be there as well?" Shy asked. "I don't know if I should come. I don't even have a gift for the baby."

"Oh, you don't have to worry about that." Dr. Fox assured. "It would be enough if you just showed up. We hope that we can see you tomorrow, Shy."

At first, Shy remained silent since she wasn't used to attending so many social gatherings. "I-I'll think about it." Shy finally replied.

"Well, Dr. Fox and I had better be going now. We'll see you later." Hawkodile waved goodbye before he led Dr. Fox back to the lab.

After speaking to Hawkodile and Dr. Fox, Kittycorn and Shy spent the rest of the day together until they finally decided to go outside. It was at this point when the sun started to set, so the two friends decided to take this time to watch the sunset together. They sat on the ground, enjoying every second of their time together.

"The sunset is beautiful from here isn't it, Shy?" Kittycorn spoke up.

Shy nodded in agreement. "It sure is, Kittycorn."

After a few moments of watching the sunset, Kittycorn asked, "So, are you thinking about coming over to the baby shower tomorrow?"

"I'm honestly not too sure, Kittycorn. Doom lords aren't exactly supposed to attend social gatherings like baby showers." Shy explained.

Shy looked down in sadness as Kittycorn stared at her friend, concerned. "Shy, can I ask you something? Why do you think it is so important for you to become a doom lord."

That was a question that Shy hoped that she could avoid. With a sigh, she sadly turned back to Kittycorn.

"I honestly don't have a chose. I have to be the best doom lord I can be. If I don't then the other doom lords might consider me to be worthless." Shy looked away as she tried not to cry.

Suddenly, Shy was caught off guard as she felt Kittycorn hug her tightly.

"Shy, listen to me! You are not worthless! Don't worry about what the doom lords think about you! You are the only friend I ever had, and you mean the world to me! Don't you ever forget that!"

Unable to contain her sadness any longer, Shy hugged Kittycorn tightly as she started to cry.

The two friends hugged each other for a couple of moments before Shy calmed down and was finally able to find her voice. "Th-Thank you Kittycorn. You are the best friend I can ever ask for!"

Kittycorn continued to comfort Shy as she started to feel better. After everything that they had been through, Kittycorn and Shy knew that they would always be there for each other.
