Lying on his back, Jack opened his eyes to stare at the ceiling. He assumed it had all been a dream until he felt the weight of Kate's head on his arm. With the morning light hitting her, Jack had never seen her so peaceful and serene. Her white camisole had slid up, revealing the tiniest sliver of skin. It sent his memory into overdrive as he remembered how she had affected his senses. He never wanted to go a day without feeling her skin, hearing her laugh, tasting her kiss, smelling the perfume in her hair or looking into those green eyes. He brushed the hair off her shoulder, kissing it gently. She sighed in her sleep without waking and nuzzled against him.

He kissed the exposed skin under her tank top. Her legs spread even as she slept. He took this as an invitation and kissed her inner thigh and through the soft material of her panties.

She made a soft moan which only motivated him more. He held her panties back with his thumb while he kissed and licked at her so tenderly it took a few minutes for her hips to begin stirring. She woke up moaning in ecstasy. When he knew she was awake he pushed his fingers inside her; the mixture of his hand and mouth left her body trembling. In no time at all she was biting her lip to quiet herself as she hit her peak.

He collapsed on the pillow next to her as her hands moved to both sides of his face, kissing him wildly.

"I can't believe you're still here," he smiled, stroking her cheek. She wasn't running. He wasn't carrying the weight of the world. They were just in the moment, together.

"This is my house," Kate reminded him with a giggle. After a moment she grew serious. "In a little bit Aaron will be up. Are you absolutely sure this is what you want?" She waved her hand to emphasize her point. "It's a lot and I wouldn't blame you—"

"I want this, Kate. Not just you. I want Aaron. I want to feel your body curled against mine at night. I want to have breakfast the three of us and to be the one to tuck Aaron in…"

Jack grabbed Kate's waist and in one move had flipped them so she straddled him. "Let's do this," he begged. "Let's do it all. Let's be a family. Let's just be together."

"Okay," Kate smiled. "Let's do this."
