CHAPTER THREE

May 2019: Isabelle POV

"Mom, I'm home!"

I swung my backpack off and walked further into the house. It was eerily quiet.

"Mom?"

She still didn't respond. She wasn't in the kitchen or dining room. My heart started to pound as I headed to her room.

"Mama?" I pushed the door open.

All the color drained from my face.

"CASS!"

The angel appeared at my side.

"What is...?" he trailed off as he followed my gaze.

My mother's bed was covered in blood. I remained rooted in place as he moved further into the room, picking up a note I hadn't noticed initially.

"Belle, I'm so sorry."

I shook my head at his words, backing out of the room slowly.

"N-no. She's not... She can't be."

My voice sounded so small in my ears. I could feel tears starting to well up in my eyes and scrunched them shut tightly. A moment later a pair of strong arms pulled me against a chest.

"Shh. It's going to be ok, Belle. Everything is going to be ok."

I lost it then, sobbing into Castiel's chest as he held me close. My mother was gone. She wasn't coming back. All I had left was my blue eyed angel.
