The fugitive giraffe was just ahead, Judy just paces behind!
Judy leaped, flinging herself through the air, hooking herself around one of the giraffe's long legs.
"I command you to stop! In the name of the law!" Judy shouted.
The giraffe looked down, but he kept running, Nick was just behind, and if he stopped, Nick would catch him. Judy had to find a way to bring him down!
Judy looked at the giraffe's other leg. If she could reach it, she could cause him to trip!
Judy reached out with one paw, but the jostling of his fleeing hoofs jolted her back.
Judy looked at her belt and hesitated. She had no choice.
Judy withdrew the taser.
And fired up.
Judy had no idea what she was aiming for, just his body. But given that she was literally hanging on to one leg, there really wasn't a wide range of places to hit.
Oops.
The giraffe cried out in agony as he collapsed face-first to the ground. Judy was thrown off his leg and sent sprawling.
When she regained her feet, the giraffe was still on the ground writhing and moaning, holding where the taser hit him in mortal agony. Nick was standing over him with handcuffs ready.
"Now I'll need you to put your hands behind your back so I can cuff you," Nick said.
"No," moaned the giraffe still clutching himself desperately as he writhed, "don't make me removed my hooves from myself." Another moan.
As Nick seemed undecided what to do, he glanced over at Judy. Judy winced. He did not look pleased.
Finally, they managed to load the giraffe up. As they drove back to the station they said nothing, but Judy knew Nick had way more to say then he was letting on.
