Annabeth

I gasped when I realized we'd have to tell dad. My dad won't like this at all. I look over at Percy.

"I don't know what he will say, Percy," I said nervously.

"Well, we need to tell him," Percy replied.

"Percy, can't we wait until I'm a little further into this?" I asked hopefully.

Percy sighed, "Annabeth you know that wouldn't be good."

"Okay, I'll iris message him tonight. But you are telling him with me!" I said firmly.

"Yes ma'am," he replied with a playful salute.

I shook my head at him, walking over to sit on his lap. I cuddled against him.

"This is all so much to take in," I whispered.

He pressed a kiss to my neck. "I know. It's overwhelming," he agreed.

"Kids, lunch is on the table," Sally called from the kitchen.

Percy and I stood and went to eat lunch.

"Thanks Sally. That meal was delicious," I said trying to stall so I wouldn't have to message my dad. "Oh you are welcome sweetie! Anything for you and my grandchild!" she replied excitedly.

I felt Percy take my hand in his. I glanced over at him asking him if we had to with my eyes. He answered with his. I sighed and stood.

"Come on then, Seaweed Brain," I said.

We walked into his room. He had a fountain in his room just for iris messages. We turned on the fountain, threw in a dracma, went through the routine, and said my dad's name and where he was. My dad slowly appeared in the fountain.

"Annie! Percy! Hi! How are you guys?" my dad asked, he looked glad to see us.

"Hey Mr. Chase," Percy said with a wave. I found it funny how he waved just like his dad had earlier.

"Hi Dad. Uh, Percy and I have something to tell you..." I said nervously.

His expression went from happy to worried. "Well what is it?" he asked.

I was so nervous. I didn't know what to do. Then I felt Percy squeeze my hand encouragingly. I took a deep breath and said, "Dad, I... I'm..." He looked at me with concern in his eyes. "Dad, I am pregnant." His reaction at first was shock, then he slowly got an angry expression on his face. He glared at Percy.

"What?" He growled out.

"I'm pregnant," I said again.

"I assume this baby is yours Mr. Jackson?" my dad asked, his voice hard like stone.

"Yes, Sir. It is mine," Percy confirmed.

My dad looked at him for a minute. I was proud of Percy. He didn't cower at my dad's glare.

"Annabeth, you are coming home," my dad spoke up.

"Excuse me?" I asked incredulously. Did he really just say that?

"I'm getting you a plane ticket and you are coming home. No daughter of mine will be with such a terrible young man as Mr. Jackson."

Percy

Who is this guy to think he can take my Annabeth away from me? I mean… yeah, he is her father but he has not done a very good job at it. Heck she ran away when she was seven years old so she could get away from him, and he didn't even look for her! I wanted to be a better father than him. I wanted to be a better father than Poseidon! Annabeth and I both had fathers who were never around and I wanted to be there for my kid. And he was about to take both Annabeth and our child away from me! This was making me mad. I looked over at Annabeth and saw tears streaming down her cheeks.

"If you won't come willingly, I will come get you," her dad said.

She looked at him for a few seconds and said, "I'm not leaving. I want Percy to be a part of this. No, I need Percy to be a part of this."

I was proud. She was so strong. The most amazing woman ever.

"Then I'll be there by tomorrow morning. Goodbye," He said and ended the message.

We sat in silent shock for a few minutes. Then Annabeth started to cry. I wrapped my arms around her.

"Percy, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. This is my fault. All of it," Annabeth said as she caught her breath.

I pulled away and cupped her face with my hands, wiping tears away with my thumbs.

"How in the world is it all your fault? Annabeth this is something we did, something we made together. I honestly wouldn't go back and change it. I love you and I love our baby," I said sincerely.

"But Perce you never wanted this. Neither of us did. And my dad..." she started, but I didn't let her finish.

I interrupted her, "Annabeth, yes we did not plan this, but I want this now. How could I not want this? And don't worry about your dad. He can't hurt me. And I'm not going to let him take you and our baby away from me. Never."

She nodded and leaned into me.

"I love you Annabeth. More than anything else in the world," I whispered into her hair.

"I love you too," She whispered back.

We sat together for several minutes, finding comfort in each other.

"So, what's the plan?" I asked.

She looked up at me with a smile. I knew she was always planning.

"Well, we have to talk to your mom first."
